I went to walmart on Rosewood drive in Pleasanton yesterday. Guess what. Every single cashier had 3 or more people waiting for checkout. AND the self-checkout was packed with 10+ people waiting. Then a manager arrives and guess what. Instead of opening another register - he sends an employee on break. I think his name was Marc. Now Marc takes over the register and guess what - he is damn near the slowest cashier I've ever had the pain to wait for. Again this is my consistent experience with the WalMart on Rosewood Drive in Pleasanton. The managers at this location don't seem to understand customer service or how to speed up the checkout process or even care. If you value your time go elsewhere. read more

If I could give this place one star, I would. Very unprofessional my husband and I kept trying to call electronics and no one answered. We got a hold of someone ( a female) and she even said "They never answer" tried to transfer and hung up. Called again and they hung up.We have called over ten times. If here is zero star I will give and go minus if possible , No return for a regular non electronic merchandise after only 3 days I got it, The store manager "Nancy " told me to go try to return to another store if the will take it they will take it but we have no return policy. I had to return items I received as a gift. I had gift receipts and had to make four trips to the store. The first attempt to return took over thirty minutes. The gal was kind and had to multi task several pending issues that other employees had difficulties with from online issues to money orders. My second trip I had forgotten my gift receipts. I was told I couldn't return because my items were over $20 and the items I had wasn't in their system (meaning it wasn't sold at their store). The customer service manager was EXTREMELY rude and had the worse bed side manners I've ever encountered. I was so upset I vowed to never return. On my third trip I had my gift receipt and read from a Facebook post that the neighborhood Walmart accepts returns even when items aren't carried at the store. This was music to my ears. With my gift receipt in hand, I was again turned away and told to return at a normal Walmart, not the neighborhood Walmart in San Ramon. Finally on my fourth attempt, I had everything needed and was told I couldn't get cash back despite the gift receipt because I was told it's not their policy meanwhile I got cash back at my first transaction. Where's the consistency? Apparently there are none and customers come last. Walmart does not post their return policy. Did you know you must have a receipt? Did you know they won't accept returns without a receipt if the item is over $20.00? The only information they post is that all returns must accompany a receipt and you have 90 days to return. I must be spoiled by Target. I will never patron Walmart again. Perhaps I can overlook the unstated policy, but what I won't tolerate is being treated poorly. With the exception of the older gal that helped me, the other employees including the customer service manager treats customers like second class citizens. I'm appalled by the treatment and regardless of the discount, I will spend more to be treated with respect and dignity. Never again. The one star is for the first gal who helped me. I wish I remembered her name. She's the only decent and kind person in customer service. read more

I allowed them to do an oil change. The next day my driveway was covered in oil from a leaking oil filter gasket. I lost a quart of oil. I contacted the store and they redid the job after they confirmed their mistake. Had I not paid attention, this could have destroyed my engine .I got the idea they were trying to justify it when they suggested multiple causes by grasping at reasons to justify what occurred that mitigated their liability. As I got under the car and checked it prior to notifying them, they didn't have much wiggle room to deny responsibility. I will not entrust my business to these guys again. read more

This is my first review and its long over due. I came to this walmart after work awhile ago to pick up a few things. On my way to the checkout lines I remembered I needed to get some beer for a trip and I figured why not get it while I was there. So I grabbed some and headed to the line. Let me just say no matter what walmart I have ever been in, it seems to be their goal to keep you in there as long as possible. Having worked in retail I know that as a cashier the most important thing is wait time and how fast you do the transaction. This seems to be the exact opposite of what walmart goes for. So I wait in line for about 15 minutes, even though there is only two other people in front of me. Finally the cashier rings up my items and she asks for my ID for the beer so I hand it to her. She stares at it for 2 minutes, then asks another employee a question about it. The employee looks at it and says I don't have time to deal with this. All the while this cashier has not said a word to me, she didn't even greet me. Then she calls for a manager and one comes up. A man named Al looks at my ID and says we can't accept this. So waiting for 5 minutes in silence and thats all he says then walks away. The cashier says because there is a crease in my ID they can't accept it. So I pay for my items(except for the beer) and I call the number on the receipt. A lady answers and I tell her I would like to speak to someone because the cashier wouldn't take my ID. Her exact response "do you know who you are calling?" I say yeah walmart I'm standing in it right now. She then transfers me to the store manager, I believe, and I explain to her what happened. She apologized, was very nice to me and said they should have accepted it and next time if I have any problems to ask for her. If it wasn't for her I would never return to that walmart again. read more

this entire chain is terrible!! i've never seen lazier employees in all my life. if you are looking for empty shelves, and not so knowledgeable people this place is for you. i found very little i even wanted to purchase. i couldn't suggest another wal-mart nearby, because seems like all of them are just as bad. i quit shopping there altogether. their prices are not that low anymore. target gives a much better shopping experience, with friendly, hardworking and attractive employees. what ever you do stay away from wal-marts at night and especially the parking lots as they have been proven to be some of the scariest places to be alone in. hell you can even have a better shopping experience at k-mart but take my advice and go with target. read more

If I could give zero stars to this store... I would. The first half of my review details the incompetency of the Walmart Pharmacy employees. The second half goes on to describe my dissatisfaction with the rest of my store visit... I switched to this Walmart Pharmacy after becoming sick & tired of the ignorance & stupidity of CVS Pharmacy inside Target... I'm not even sure why I made the switch. Walmart Pharmacy is just as bad. While they were able to get me the correct brand of my prescription (something CVS was unable to do), Walmart has created a whole slew of new problems for me... When I first transferred my prescription to Walmart, I gave them all of my updated contact information. After not receiving and communication about the status of prescription, I phoned them up, & found out that they had been trying to contact me on a phone number that is now out of service, given to them by my mother (same last name) when SHE had a prescription filled at Walmart 15+ years ago. They made no attempt to contact me on the phone number I had actually given them! After the communication issue was finally resolved, I thought I should just be able to pick up my prescription & be on my way. No such luck... The service at Walmart Pharmacy is infuriatingly slow. I waited in line for at least 10 minutes, before the technician greeted me. Then I waited again for the technician to "fill" my prescription and then hand it off to the pharmacist, while I waited in line again, to actually receive my prescription. This process is inefficient, ineffective, & moronic, forcing customers to wait in line multiple times for something that can be easily completed by one employee, with only one line. This is how every other pharmacy I have been a customer of conducts its business! When I finally got to the front of the pharmacist's line & was handed my prescription, I noticed that my prescription had only been partially filled. The pharmacist / pharmacy manager SHALINI then rudely told me that she was not in the wrong & had never received the instructions my doctor had clearly given for the prescription. My question is... How the heck would she know what prescription to fill if she never received any instructions from my doctor?! By this point, I was frustrated & late for work, so I agreed to just take the portion that had been filled, & come back later for the rest. SHALINI then had the nerve to tell me, that because I had already been served (even though I still had NOT received my prescription) that I would have to go back to the beginning of the first line & wait to be served, & for my prescription to be filled, AGAIN! I did not have time to wait in line again, & SHALINI had been terribly unhelpful & now rude, so I decided just to leave & return the next day to pick up. When I did return, I decided to also shop for a few items that I needed. While wandering up & down the cosmetics aisles, struggling to find what I needed, I slipped across the floor & very nearly fell & injured myself because a large bottle of lotion had been spilled & spread around the floor where others had been slipping on it! This is a serious hazard to both customers & employees, so I made the decision to report it to an employee. I wasn't about to wait in the horrendous Pharmacy line again, so I looked around for another employee working the sales floor. I did not find an employee to report this to until I reached the home decor department (entirely on the opposite side of the store), and after I had already seen two other people nearly break their necks from slipping on the mess. And then, the employee I reported the hazard to couldn't care less about the problem! He shrugged & nonchalantly told me I could report the issue to the store manager, but is that not the employee's job? I already searched the whole store just to find an employee, where does he expect me to find the store manager? On my way to check out, my eye was caught by a beautiful pair of gold earrings in a display case, exactly like a pair I've been trying to replace. They were PERFECT! The second I saw them, I almost forgot about my awful experience in the store. ALMOST. Until I tried to get someone to come to the jewelry counter to help me... When I arrived at the counter, another young lady was already waiting to be helped. After waiting together for a few minutes, an employee came over from the clothing department & asked us if we were being helped, to which we said no. He confirmed that he would go & find someone to help us. He went off, and we continued to patiently wait, further perusing the jewelry display cases. I found a second paid of earrings that I wanted to purchase, but after waiting for an additional 10 minutes, I lost interest & left the store, having purchased only the items I came in for. (Or the ones they had in stock, that is.) If I don't end up switching to another pharmacy, I may be back for the earrings. Other than that, AVOIDING THIS WALMART AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

This is a review for the Walmart tire department. I bought a set of G-Max tires. Unfortunately they told they did not fit my wheels. So the Walmart technician recommended their best-seller Goodyear viva 3. I read the reviews and they seemed good so I agree to buy/install them. These tires were terrible. They were soft and bouncy. I started to notice some back pain and dizziness so I called the Walmart tire department to see if we could work out a deal. I would buy another brand new set of tires, but maybe they could help me with a free install and/or road hazard. The answer was no. Incredible. I was willing to spend another $500 on them for a just a little bit of help, but didn't get any even though there were the ones that recommended the tires I bought. read more

Called regarding availability of an item. The phone rang for nearly SIX MINUTES before someone picked up. I asked if the item was available, and the employee spoke very poor English and didn't understand what I was looking for. I repeated myself slowly and carefully nearly 10 times and he still had no grasp on the words I was saying. I have zero issue with people of different backgrounds/ethnicities being employed anywhere, but if you have someone who CLEARLY speaks very little (if any) English, is it really business savvy to have him on phone duty? read more

I had an ok experience at this store. Considering it was a Sunday afternoon, I was able to find parking without a problem and a line that was only one person deep. I was able to find some things in my size. If you didn't know where you were going, you would never even know there is a Walmart here because it's behind the trees. This Walmart is actually pretty good relative to others I've visited. Yes as others have pointed out the customer service can sometimes leave a bit to be desired, and shelves not always fully stocked. But this is WALMART, they move product, they are known for the their supply chain. I gave Pleasanton WM 4 stars, rating it relative to other local WM's. I've frequented the Oakland WM, and beleive me that is truly deserving of the low ratings that some people have given this Pleasanton store. If you drive a nice car, you actually have to worry about it while shopping at the Oakland WM. The scalpers that try to hawk you pirated DVD's and fake cologne as you walk back to your car don't add to the lure either. Anyways its all relative and just my perspective. I appreciate the Pleasanton WM, and don't go there expecting it to be a Bed Bath and Beyond or Macys. By the way, the Richmond WM near Hiltop mall is a very nice, seemingly newer 2 story store. Might be worth checking out if in the area. read more

This place is D I R T Y...the store, the people, the merchandise, everything about this place just makes your stomach turn. Only reason why we went today is due to the fact target stopped carrying a particular brand of detergent, and we were quickly reminded of why we stopped going. We saw drunk people in their 50's stumbling the isles, a trio of heavier set women who were sitting (as in on the floor sitting) in the middle of another isle, our cashier who handed us a receipt and our bag with the phrase "here" and last but not least, a food isle with multiple bags of open merchandise. I understand WALMART is the largest retailer in the world and offers millions the option of affordable prices, but it just isn;t for me. Every experience I have personally seems worse than the one before and I have little hope of it ever getting better. This review is only about the service I received from them . At the register apparently the number light was not on when I unloaded all of my items. The gal finished the transaction with the customer in front of me , then when it was my turn, she then tells me that her register was closed . " but it's okay I'll take you" she says. Then she says " do you mind helping me bag all of your items? You'll be able to leave sooner that way" Really? Isn't that nice of her! She let me help her bag my items! I went for an oil change on Thursday evening like 10 mins before they close. Was really desperate to get my work done since I had been turned down by few other places. Alan received me and was super kind to take my car in. He went way out to change the oil, suggested to replace my wipers that were aging (what do you know, it rained heavily today!), helped install new headlight bulbs and my cabin air filter too. This store is the most mismanaged, disorganized store I've ever seen. 1. The merchandise is displayed haphazardly all over the store, a la Target, so you have to wander the whole store to find items that should be placed together. 2. Items often out of stock. 3. I placed an online in store pickup order that is supposed to have a 4-hr timeframe. 19 hrs later and it's still not ready. 4. I tried to call the store. This Walmart was absolutely fabulous when we moved her in 1998. Circa 2009 to present. Don't know what happened but the worse part is the pharmacy. The last 3 prescriptions I've had filled for my wife have been utterly disastrous. 1st one wasn't that big of a deal and I let it slide figuring everyone has off days and it was a really busy weekend. Took an hour to fill a script they said would be done in 30 mins. Ok, it was busy, and maybe they were short handed. 2nd one I called in a refill and went to pick it up almost 4 days later. The pharmacy said they were still waiting on the dr to respond from their fax. I asked when they faxed it and they gave me the date I called it in. My wife said she thought it was the pharmacy, she'd had a few probs. I had the pharmacy fax it over to the dr and I drove to the dr's office, waited for them to sign and fax it back over. I drove back to Walmart (fortunately only 5 mins from dr's office) and told the gal working behind the counter. She looked surprised when she pulled it off the fax machine. Said it would be ready in 1/2 hour to 45 mins. TOOK 2 HOURS TO FILL IT WITH 10 SCRIPTS IN FRONT OF ME! Really? How long does it take to count out pills and flop them into a bottle, even double checking the pour bottle to make sure you're giving the right script?? There was only 5 people behind the counter. Lastly, I took in a script and they said (once again) 30 to 45 mins after looking up the medicine and telling me it was in stock. I said I would be back. Came back in hour, asked the status of the script, now they tell me its out of stock and they have to order it. I was steamed! I asked for the script back and they said they already ordered it, and it would be here the next day. I came back 2 days later and they said their courier service wouldn't be delivering because of the weekend and it would be in TUESDAY! All these scripts are for a person with cancer!! This is not rocket science and these are lives you're screwing with, not underwear or socks or widescreen TVs! Get with the program Walmart! Either train your employees better, screen them, or something. Obviously you don't care and neither do they, IT SHOWS! Livermore does seem better so it may be worth the drive for less of a headache. Also I hear Target has a pharmacy & is offering the $4 scripts too....might just change like a woman said earlier who was in there at the same time and having problems with her scripts too! Looks like this Walmart is beginning charging customers for plastic bags. I did not know Pleasanton is part of Alameda County and Walmart consider to be a grocery store which do sell foods and frozen food meals. 10 cents for paper, 50 cents for their bags.. Never knew, never expect this making my last shopping experience very inconvience. Once everyone parked their cars, their goal is to go shopping, who will remember bringing those extra plastic or re-using bags with them. Absolutely horrendous online delivery with items not being delivered on time, and then when delivered, they were defective, and then Walmart requirewls the customer to deal with the manufacturer over the problem.
