Very large, well stocked store just off the highway in Anderson, lots of parking. Includes large center and pet department which are plusses for me. Large craft and home decor area with lots of options. Staff in many parts of the store was friendly, checkers at the registers were not. Greeter in garden department entrance was the nicest I have ever experienced. Garden dept. was well stocked in comparison to other Walmarts. Restroom very clean and orderly. The shopping center in general is declining with over 80% vacant fronts. Landscaping is also parched and dry which is sad, since a small amount of irrigation would go a long way. I'm a local and shop here weekly,some of the reviews on here are some what accurate but one about us locals being hillbilly inbred made me stop and write this review. GROCERY AREA has a few Great staff that are always helpful and shelves are always stocked. AUTOMOTIVE AREA again 50 50 on service. I have had 3 vehicles maintenance there.2 get oil changes every 6 months and it's different each time. sometimes great sometimes I have to return to have oil light reset. which is a pain in the but if you don't know the code to input. It doesn't matter the time of day, week, or month you will always be waiting in a long line in the Anderson Wal-Mart. After this afternoons experience, I had to calm my anger by writing this review. I had four items in my cart and chose to stand in the shortest line (4 deep). I stood there in silence for 15 minutes staring at the 3 quarts of ice cream being purchased by the older lady in front of me. She was not happy but was too polite to show her frustration. I, on the other hand, told her that it was wrong for her to have to wait so long while she purchased frozen goods. Wal-Mart get your act together and open more lines at all times. I've never had a bad experience with this Walmart. They are absolutely amazing. The people, the selection, the prices, the display...I really recommend this Walmart. I would probably even go out of my way to come here as the Redding Walmart is sometimes overrun with tweakers and criminals especially late at night. Normal Wal-Mart experience, up until the end after we had paid my fiance had slipped on some liquid(what seemed to be oil) spoiled on the floor at the end of the register. The cashier just says "o1h yeah" and rolls her eyes. Took 20 mins to wait for a manager (Jacqui) to show up and when she gets her to file the report, takes down information without even "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" not even an offer of compensation. Hire people that asset least have basic human emotion to say sorry that happened. read more

I don't usually go to WalMart but sometimes I want to save money like anyone else. The issue I have with Walmart is SOME of the employees that ruined this review for the good ones. For the last few times I've gone to wal-mart and asked a question, or called them on the phone for a question...The sales associate or manager has gotten super rude very fast. Sometimes they will tell me false information and if I simply let them know what has changed or whatever, they are on a mission to prove me wrong. What kind of customer service is this? Why do walmart employees feel its their right to treat customers like trash? I have never seen such consistent horrible customer service. I feel like they start out with a grudge at me. Again, not all of them, some of the employees are awesome, simply because they are decent people. I guess Wal-Mart doesn't really care if associate and or managers give false information with a rude attitude. Then when I'm at the store, I've encountered the eye roll and or an associate turning to other associates to sigh for having to help. What has happened to this store? Do they get abused from management, then pass it down? Lol. Example, (this happened at the Redding store, so this review covers both redding and anderson) I went in to get some plain white t-shirts and they were locked up. I asked an associate for help and she literally said to me "uh, ya..." Then walked back to her group of friends to continue their conversation. They were talking about other people, it wasn't work related. Even if it was, would the customer needing help not take precedence here? I didn't want to be rude so I waited about 3 minutes, just watching them talk. So I went and found another associate who did stop to help. He wasn't too happy about helping either. Then the lady came back over and said, "Sir, If you had just waited, I could have helped you." I FELT SO AWKWARD! Is this the twilight zone or some reality show? I don't expect Walmart employees to behave like they are employed by the Ritz, but they should at least have some personal dignity to uphold. read more

Was in town visiting relatives recently and O M G. - This is like a super wal-mart. It even has produce area with fresh produce!!! It's hilarious. There is a subway and spa treatment place in here as well. Why can't we have a wal-mart like this in the bay? Jeez. LOL Super hilarious was the characters that were shopping in this joint aside from myself. I thought i seen it all. The last yelp review before mine pretty much mentioned it well enough. The merchandise was very selective and some items were pretty lame and generic but well reasonably priced. Service was helpful and friendly. I would come back and shop here again. So I'm gonna vent now, but hear me out. If you know me well, you have heard me complain about Anderson Walmart's policy on service animals. The policy is great but the people are assholes. I'm talking about the ones who pass their dogs as service animals as well as the spineless management that allows it. Fast forward to 615 am today. Denied entry to Anderson Walmart till 7am. 60+ only. I haven't been denied into a place based on my age since trying to get into a bar as a minor. The feeling was different though. I have to admit, I was a little irritated for about 3 seconds, but came to my senses. I totally get it. I'm pro-senior. It's a good call on Walmarts part. Driving home however, I spoke with my Mom on the phone and told her about what happened. And she knows how irritated I get when I see a pug with his asshole on the seat of a shopping cart where kids sit. She knows how it bothers the hell out of me that people pass their dog as a service animal. Which btw, should be a fine worse than parking in a handicapped parking spot . So my Mother says.... "Just think Billy, Walmart let's dogs in before they let you in." That's the New Walmart!! Wasted trip btw. Back home with nothing but a new loathing for Walmart. Everything is locked up now. Even a vacuum filter! I completely understand the reason for locking everything in cases because of lost revenue. But, for the employee to have to walk vacuum filter up to register 11 is completely ridiculous! Not only that but getting someone to open the case is a hassle! Employees act like I am being a burden asking them to get something out of the glass case for me! Between eye rolling for customer service and being treated like a CRIMINAL at the door I am glad to back to shopping at Target. Worst customer service experience ever! read more

Auto center 10 stars.store 5 stars. Theft constantly we see it frequently. Honest people are there as well.thanks to the Anderson pd one day rounded up 12 theives.constant battle daily battle. That said the staff is the best of the best. Always helping you get in and get out. Prices are the best. Cage free organic eggs. Organic foods are plentiful fresh fruits and vegetables. Order ahead and pick up your groceries in the parking lot. During the fires insurance companies set up tents to serve their clients. Usaa set up in the Redding Walmart. Service is walmarts middle name. Rvs and big rigs are sleeping out there in the lot b4 going over the pass. The employees have tons of information and always happy to help find something. Saved big bucks on cell phone service. Now have the same service as b4 different carriers unlimited talk text and data. Cheap cheap thanks to a good employee. Love my wrangler Jean's. I spoke with Justin in the Auto Center, and he was truly amazing, very polite, knew what he was talking about, and answered every question until I was satisfied. 1. Excellent customer service Justin in automotive did an awesome job assisting. 2. Customer has been waiting for over 35 minutes for an override. 3. ASM Diane not address the customer to apologize or acknowledge the issue. 4. Rude to fellow associate Justin! I have worked in retail you DO NOT address your fellow associates in a rude matter in front of a customer ever. ASM Diane came into automotive with a nasty attitude and went straight for her fellow associates this ASM does not know how to be professional at her work environment. Yes associate Justin reached out to other fellow associates for help if he is doing something wrong you correct him in private NOT in front of customers. If this ASM Diane did not take over 35 minutes he wouldn't have to try to reach out to others for help when you have a customer waiting. This ASM needs to be re educated how to handle customers and fellow associates she shows no education as far as I can see you should promote Justin instead. This has been the worst Walmart experience I ever had please educate your staff specially your ASM Diane in dealing with customers and fellow associates maybe re evaluate your employees and promote the ones who are qualified for the job as this is unacceptable! read more

I called Walmart Andersen Ca and they and Redding don't have their automotive centers open. Every other (non-Walmart) auto centers are open. Walmart is open in all other departments and automotive is more open than most departments. Walmart I am totally disappointed with your lack of service. I would really like to give this particular store three stars because they do have some friendly staff members that work there but I have to give it to Stars because the managers are mostly rude and bitter the store is dirty Walmart has them don't ask policy on care dogs which I have no problem with a service dog in the store what I have a problem with if someone whose dog is not a service dog and it's nasty and stinky and they bring it in the store I also don't like the fact that the bathrooms always smell like someone just peed all over the place no one's ever at the jewelry counter and their prices tend to run a little higher than the reading store if you want a nice safe clean shopping experience I would not recommend the Anderson store there are a lot of tweakers they hang out there and I personally think that unlock cars are not safe at that particular Walmart and I think women should hold on to their purses tighter at that store because there's been a lot of thefts at that particular store read more

At the beginning of 2016, I purchased 4 Goodyear Wrangler tires from Walmart in Redding and an oil change. Walmart techs broke my idle control motor while incorrectly checking and installing the air filter and failed to stand behind their work to repair it. I then, in October went in to have the tires rotated and the Anderson Walmart refused to honor the extended plan, road hazard and lifetime rotation and balancing I paid extra for telling me in 2 locations that the sale is not in their system EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THE RECEIPT. Every single time I go to Wal Mart because they listed on the internet that they carry the product I find they don't have the item. The shelves are short all kinds of products. The hardware section is nearly always barely filled up and the items don't seem to get re-order on any kind of a timely basis. I make comments to the worker and they say, "I know, nobody here cares"....NOBODY cares. I like the prices on somethings and I do like to save but I get to where I don't even want to go in to look for items because I am pretty sure they won't be stocked. They need to stock their store, they need to stop putting things on the internet stating they have the items and nobody in the store ever saw those items. Disgusted! read more

Okay, so we're pretty unhappy with Wal-Mart here in Anderson and are sending out a "beware" to others. We'll see what Wal-Mart in general does with this one but right now we have no desire to head into another store of theirs - and we shop there a lot! We bought $370 worth of merchandise last week and used a VISA Gift Card for $100 for part of it, and our ATM card for the rest. Lo and behold, BOTH charges ended up on our bank account as separate charges. (Of course, we thought the gift card was empty after this purchase so we'd tossed it, lesson learned there...) The clerk was nice, but inefficient to put it mldly, but she finally cleared the gift card first, THEN we used our ATM card, and the receipt reflected all this. No idea how that could happen as I never ran my card or entered my ATM pin number until after the gift card had cleared. Wal-Mart's story is it's "not our problem, it's yours." WE have to prove it to THEM. They watched our purchase replayed on tape, saw THEIR clerk had trouble getting the card cleared to begin with, THEN saw us use our ATM card after it finally cleared, yet it's still our problem. So - instead of repaying us the $100 (which is the amount they would be out for their clerk's mistake), WE ended up losing $200 for that amount - $100 we now have to cover in our checkbook, plus the $100 gift card that we no longer have as we thought it was depleted. So if you shop there, it's buyer beware when using cards, especially multiple cards or gift cards! As for us, after their "we don't care" attitude, I'm thinking Target and Winco are the places we will frequent from now on. read more

The facility was clean, and decently priced. Our art supplies we needed were extremely cheap, but oh my. I'm pretty sure this facility is what inspired the people of Walmart website. People on the motorized scooters crowded the place, as well as an obvious group of drug addicts with sores and missing teeth. And don't even get me started with this one guy in the parking lot who didn't have correctly sized clothes for his weight. I was there today in the Anderson Walmart store, a little bit after 8am I was near cosmetics and the lady working was nice, a guy started yelling and cussing at her, I could hear her call for help to have someone come protect her because felt like she was in danger, the guy was so out of line, he kept repeating himself and being a complete A** hole no one was coming to help the poor lady. How come Walmart is not protecting their employees? I was being nosy and keeping a distance but listening to what I could, pretty much I heard that they can't kick him out? Why not how could you let someone get away with that? Treating an employee like that? How were these managers taught? I'm so upset that I had to witness someone being treated like that, this Will not be my only place of reviews. I'm done with Walmart. Almost everything is behind locked doors or you have to buy electronics and cosmetics inside the separate departments and trying to get someone to open the cabinet doors in the paint, hunting or fishing depts. is a complete waste of time and even IF someone shows up, you feel pressured to make a quick purchase decision instead of being able to look at and compare different products. Then today, I went to get the oil changed in one of my cars. I went in the store through the service entrance to start the process (which is an unnecessary hassle in the first place) and the wait was too long so I go to leave the same way I came in and some old guy says "you can't go out this door if you are not having your car worked on" BS! I waited in the paint department half an hour, watched multiple associates walk by, found one and asked them to call a paint person, then had to call the store two separate times to tell them no one had ever came and ask them to get an associate to come help me. They acted puzzled I would ask again and offered the reasoning " Well, I tried twice for you". Really? Cool. Real cool. Sometimes retail employees can be a little impersonal and brusque. But I was shopping at the local Walmart last week and a female clerk named Kena was so helpful and friendly. She noticed I looked a bit lost, looking for something, and was quick to help me. She was pleasant and knowledgeable. She definitely stands out. I hope the company appreciates her as much as I did.
