Hello my name is not of importance but what is, is my purchase. Many moons ago I bought a recliner. I bought this black leather recliner from this Walmart supercenter. I have slept on this piece of furniture ever since it was purchased from "Supercenter". WELL LAST NIGHT MY RECLINER BROKE. And I am furious. I was leaning back and stretching like an Amazonian chimpanzee, when all of a sudden my furniture snapped in half and I fell to the floor! Gasping for air I got up and cried for 6 hours straight. This is like the cleanest and nicest Wal-Mart EVER PERIOD. On a short road trip last night I ended up here. And it's like the only 24 hour Wal-Mart that I know of in Illinois. And everyone there was super friendly, and they also had the best clearance section EVER. Generally when I think clearance isle I think of a bunch of shit that nobody in their right minds would buy. But this location had fucking Batman LEGO sets ON CLEARANCE IN THE CLEARANCE ISLE!!!!!!!!!! They had the Bat-Copter/Joker set for 35 dollars regular 50. And the MOTHER FUCKING BATCAVE FOR 75 DOLLARS! As an NIU student I've made countless trips to this Walmart. There were even a few times I went twice in one day. It's not far from campus and you can't beat the prices. This is one of my happy places.....I still have friends/family in DeKalb so I go back quite a bit. Every visit is not complete without a stop here. It is by far the best Walmart I've ever been to. This location employs unhappy, rude people who could care less about customer service. The cashier doesn't greet you, just rings your stuff up, says a total, hands you a receipt all the while holding a conversation with another employee. The deli people act like you are a nuisance as they peek through the swinging door as if they are annoyed you want something! The customer service desk employee grunts at you, grabs your item, tells you to sign and shoves a piece of paper at you. They need to hire people who actually want a job, I know there are plenty out there that would be happy to be earning a paycheck! read more

The employees are really nice and helpful. My friends and I go often to just browse and kill time. The savings cache app is really nice, it compares prices to local competitors and reimburse you if you ended up paying more. The store is kind of dirty, especially when the college kids are in town. I am all for getting the minimum wage raised, and getting these people more money. However, that is a lot harder when these people managed to work down to the level they're being paid. I have a broken back, and went into the pharmacy tonight to get my prescription filled. At 530 I was told it would be 30 minutes, at 30 minutes I came back and was told it would be another 20 minutes, at two minutes to 7 I came back and the guy started typing with me standing there, after 5 minutes of typing, keeping in mind I have a broken back and I'm in pain and wincing visibly, he tells me that I'll be another few minutes. How about telling me before you made the guy with the broken back stand there while you typed in his whole prescription by hand two fingers at a time. When I called to complain, I spoke with somebody supposedly in management called Jolie. Who only took umbrage with my tone, which I'm sure I sounded irritated. She had no interest whatsoever in what my issue was. After trying to explain it, and being interrupted repeatedly, she hung up on me. We went here because it was convenient, we will now start patronizing local businesses you are more interested in customer service then they are getting their monthly or weekly paycheck. read more

I have made countless trips to this Walmart. Dekalb has only so many choices for groceries and shopping. As with most Walmarts, it's good for one-stop shopping. The groceries are generally priced a bit lower than at other supermarkets in the area, however, the other supermarkets often run specials that make certain items more attractive. Walmart also has competitive prices on other merchandise. The downside? It's often difficult to find an associate if you have questions, and they seem to have an inordinate amount of stockouts (which seems odd since Walmart has both food and dry goods distribution centers within 70 miles). I continue to shop here...balancing price and convenience with frustration, but also patronize Woodman's, Target, and Jewel. read more

Worst store I have ever worked for. Night managers send you out in a lightning storm to push shopping carts, and then change your schedules from day to day. Poor management and management decisions...no wonder the employees who have been there a few years want out! I would rather just go on full state aid as give them rip off artists the time of day. The only people making money at WalMart are the big managers that you never see. When are people going to wake up and vote a UNION in there so that management has to do things by the book. Oh by the way...if the health department ever stops getting paid off by that store, they will surely be shut down, the back room is gross to say the least. read more

This is one of the cleaner and more organized WalMarts I've been in. But what I really want to talk about is the Pharmacy. Wowee they were so friendly and fast despite the fact they were incredibly busy. The clinic I had visited for a sinus infection was having computer problems and the prescription they sent over didn't go through. When I showed up, being a first time walmart pharmacy customer, I asked for my prescription and they had no record of it. I explained that the clinic was having computer problems so they immediately called the clinic to get the prescription over the phone and filled it as quickly as they could. I couldn't believe how friendly and accommodating they were. Oh and the prescription was $20 cheaper than the pharmacy the clinic was connected to. read more

Go here often due to cheap prices on my tight budget. However, there are VERY FEW clerks at registers who are friendly. Only a few of them will say "hello" and "thank you". I don't understand why customer service has to suck so bad these days! Also, only 1 out of every 10 visits or so do they offer to put my grocery bags in my cart.
