Rude workers. The three frontline managers in red seem to be overwhelmed and unhelpful. Cashiers are very rude and seem to be uninterested in working. There were a few notable employees that were helpful, the gentleman who helped me place a hold an item for later pickup, the electronics guy, the guys that assisted with loading my truck and an older gentlemen that seem to be stocking. I wish this was NOT my nearest Costco as we spend a lot of money with Costco. This particular location needs some cleaning, structure, organization and management should probably be trained better or replaced. I used Costco travel for a 12 passenger van we rented for our trip last month. My experience with Costco and Avis was nothing short of terrible. Avis called 2 days before to confirm that I still needed it, which of course I said yes. I showed up the morning of and they didn't have the vehicle. They also said they wouldn't be able to get one for a few hours, which was not an option since we had to be on the road early. We took the largest SUV they had instead. Our guests had to take expensive Uber rides all weekend because of this mistake and it made our group separate, which ruined our plans in a lot of ways. After sharing my feedback upon return and reiterating how unacceptable this was, they gave a small credit back towards the rental of the SUV we had to rent. Never again will I use Costco or Avis for travel. Unprofessional, unreliable and unaccommodating. Find a new travel vendor, Avis is awful. I've been burned by them too many times, but this one by far has been the worst of all. read more

After 8 years Shopping almost weekly at Costco.I ended up having this bad experience on tire department. This happened Sunday 3rd , February 2024. I brought my car for a flat tire after 38k milles . 4 tires were replaced in 2021. After 20mins Jach left me a message that my tires are very bad and they need to be replaced and the warranty doesn't cover them because a note in a previous tire replacement on 2021. He didn't even ask me if I got whatever was recommended to fixe on my car since 2021. I told him I didn't bring my car asking you a free tires. I need just the flat tire fixe . Than he flip flap telling me he is not going to fixe it because one nut missing on an each tire. So . If I said yes I will pay for the tires as he offered YES HE WILL WORK ON IT . But fixing the flat tire NO . His manager came telling me my tires are bad and I think he doesn't even know how he can tell the tires are bad. See pictures . I've been coming to this Costco for years, but never reviewed. Everyone is always helpful and friendly. We love the meat selection! My favorite is the chicken "party" wings. They are already cut and the extra segment removed. In addition, they carry a lot of organic items. Costco really knows what they are doing when it comes to COVID. I had to wait a short time to enter as capacity had been reached. The carts are clean and the checkout process has really been streamlined. At first the lines appeared long but they really moved fast. They had extra personnel to guide you to the open registers. They use their "gun" to scan your card so no one touches it and you take your receipt at the end yourself. I felt very safe. read more

I am a United States Attorney for a governmental agency, and I use my computer for work all day long five days a week to work remotely. Just received my renewal notice after a one year test run. Admittedly, I probably made a mistake thinking I was joining the 'Cool Kids Club'. I'm one & done! This is an operation that thrives on the hope that you're a candidate for the 'Walking Dead'. Aimlessly push your shopping cart up and down the aisles and fill that sucker up with 5 pounds of this & 10 pounds of that. But don't pass on the bargain sized 100 rolls of toilet paper! I took a chance primarily on the meat counter. The quality just didn't pan out for me. I wasn't interested in bulk quantities of gamey tasting Australian Lamb Chops, nor the 'Prime' Ribeye Cap that's cut & Hog-Tied pinwheel style. A low blow for a prized cut of steak. And especially the 'Cheap Gas' that clogs-up your cars arteries quicker than a mechanic can fix it. Costco is not doing you any favors. At self check out, the lady asked to see our membership card. He showed her the card and she said "that's not you." He said "it is me. Do you want to see my license?" She said, "no it's not you. Follow me." She made us bring all of our groceries to the front desk and declared to the front desk that he is using a membership card that isn't his. The individual at the desk looked at the photo and said "that is him." The lady just walked away and did not apologize or anything. I've been going to the St Charles Costco for 9 years after shopping at the Niles store for many years before moving. I'd say 4-5 years back I started experiencing horrible and rude behavior from employees of the this location. I contacted the store mgr (after first going thru corporate) after a cashier threw around $300 of grocery product down to the end of the register. She then went on to promote that incredibly ignorant person....and I get to see her every week when I shop. I'm noticing they hire a large amount of folks long in the tooth. Incredibly unhappy day after day. And they expect you to get a taste of their world of misery. An older balding gentleman told me at the exit door in a very nasty and bitchy fashion, "I'm just a miserable old man working here", as he checked out my product to receipt. I'm often there for a few items while between jobs and am in and out. Another older lady that works the registers every day started scolding me in front of employees about the number of tomatoes in the tray I bought. Customers sort threw this stuff when they shop. They move product around. It is not in any way sealed. I just grabbed a tray/box for my wife. And I get yelled at in front of the store at the registers for there being the wrong count. The worst dinosaurs are generally working the front entrance/exit. So you get to experience the constipation when you come in and when you leave. The Monday before Thanksgiving, two very old ladies where opening the door to enter the returns are. A tall very frail red head lady told me all I could go to was the counter and the tire department. I started in. The other squat grey haired lady immediately barked at me. That then led to a back and forth argument situation where she got all territorial. These are a few. I have many more. People that work in the aisles and departments are much more customer friendly. The front end and the registers are loaded with ignorant jerks. Seem to be on a power trip and enjoy flexing.....especially with an audience. Store policy is not understood by every person in the front end the same way. I've once already contacted corporate for one situation and it was handled very bad. I'm not doing that legwork again. And I'm not shopping there weekly any more. Too many other options close by (about 6) that don't have the negative start and finish to a shopping experience. And I'm spending less now. A high volume store but cannot make the effort to train and audit its own employees. The inmates run the asylum. And per usual, the bad element always outshines the good. From what I've experienced about a dozen times over the last few years, I think the Costco I liked is in the past. read more

I've had only good customer service experiences. I've purchase all things from glasses to gas and tires. The return policy is great! I ordered pizzas during the week for a weekend pickup. When I got there the gentleman Calvin told me that they called me earlier to confirm my pizza order and unfortunately I didn't answer so they gave one of my pizzas away. He told me it would be a quick five minutes. Calvin was super nice and accommodating. He gave me a free Churro for the inconvenience. I've worked in customer service for ten years and I've never gotten such great customer service before. The free Churro isn't the reason I'm writing this review, it is the exceptional customer service I got from Calvin at the end of his Saturday shift and his friendly personality that made up for it. I went their this weekend and still had fantastic customer service from the cashier Johnny. Pharmacy did not fill our prescription as ordered. Instead of a 10 ml vial for 68.00 as advertised on Goodrx, we received 2 1ml vials for 40.00. I'm sorry, that's 8 ml short. The pharmacist said my husband OK'd it. He thought he was OK'ing dividing the quantity into 2 vials. How could she think it was reasonable to short the prescription 8 mls? She said it was illegal for her to dispense a 10 ml vial. Really? I've been getting these for years. I had a new prescription sent to Walgreens and voila...10 ml vial for only 40.00. The pharmacist politely did nothing to resolve or even compromise. I feel completely bamboozled. This was very poor customer service on all accounts. read more

This is specific to the tire center in Saint Charles. Charged me 10.99 to just look at the tire and tell me that they can't repair it, even when I bought a new tire with them, they didn't waive the fee for which they didn't do anything at all. I thought I was a Costco member for a reason, apparently taking care of customer is not part of the tire centers objective. It was an emergency for me but don't think I will be shopping for tires again. Probably should look at other stuff too given there are good online options now like boxed and jet. read more

Location is good, and the store is overall in clean condition. The only reason for the three stars has been from the cashiers. Visited a few times and my family and I have not had much luck with getting a warm welcome at the register, and/or a friendly smile.
