I can't handle coming to the store very often, seems like every time I do come here or there some special kind of nonsense going on; here is today's story: in the middle of the hallway there's a been filled with kids T-shirts for five dollars each. The lady looks at the bin, takes a $10 T-shirt she had in her car, tosses it in the bin and grabs a five dollar one. Next lady comes along, sees the bin filled with T-shirts that says five dollars so she takes the nicest one which is of course a $10 one that the previous lady tossed in there.... Few minutes later I am at the register, noticing lady #2 holding up the line arguing that the $10 t-shirt was in a bin marked $5.... All in all experience was okay, not the best walmart in the area but also not as bad as people make it out to be. Could be cleaner but it is a walmart after all so... People seemed nice overall, fairly easy to find everything I needed. Would recommend in if live closeby. read more

I come here every Sunday for weekly shopping I don't purchase food here typically as it is cheaper is other locations. I mainly purchase household supplies, children's clothes, and holiday supplies. The carts are a big size, which is a tactic to get you to buy more things. The parking lot is always full and I rarely see cart attendants out there. Hands down probably the worst Walmart I've ever visited. First you're routed through it almost like a prison, by various gates and people watching you, which I'm guessing is because they have substantial theft problems. Not their fault, but it makes a less than welcoming atmosphere. By far the worst aspect was the employees. They seem to almost go out of their way not to have to interact with customers. Two of them that I ask for location of products couldn't even tell me where to go and of course didn't make any effort to ask somebody else using the radios they were carrying. I used to work there staff are super unfriendly everyone told me that shopped there there is favoritism like you wont believe. The management is useless there always trying to accuseing people stealing all the time there very racist there and there are alot of expired food that they food out in the store that I have mentioned working there and they say nothing I was let get because I have 8.5 points 4.5 was from covid they explained that I did not have to file another loan for it and lied to me saying they did then fired me months later it is definitely not a good company to work out they treat there staff like dogs plus there where plenty of other people there well over 10 points that still work there. This is the worst Wal-Mart in CNY in my opinion. The staff is usually rude or doesn't want to help you. Went here one time for an oil change (normally do my own but didn't want to in a legit blizzard) but it needed done. Thought to myself how bad can they be they train for this. I was way off They put the wrong oil in my car and when I questioned them they said all oil is the same...no no it's not and forced them to redo it because they admitted to using the wrong book to reference my oil. Wally world! Wally wally wally world! I cannot deny Walmart's prices. Groceries here are way cheaper than Wegman's (except for milk). I am not sure which section it came from, but I found a random grenadine bottle misplaced on a different shelf & decided to buy it from some nice cocktails. It came in a plastic bottle rather than the usual glass kind. It was also cheap! Other things I ended up buying (with no intention to prior to coming in) were rubber car mats & Lysol lemon gel toilet scent things. While walking out of the store, the cashier that rung me up chased me down because I forgot an item. I appreciated that (especially because I had paced the front of the store, not knowing which exit door I was going to take). read more

Oh how the mighty have fallen. This store was never the neat in the area, but the cheap prices always kept people coming. It was dirty, and the customer service people were always kind of standoffish. This was before the pandemic, and those issues have only gotten worse since then. It's not uncommon to see the ground outside littered with masks, and the store just looks horrible. I would recommend every other grocer in the area over getting their produce, and if you need anything else, you're better off going to the mall down the street. read more

Walmart is like the armpit of stores, isn't it? This one in particular always seems to be more "Walmart-ish" than others I have been to. There are plenty of characters here if you're into people watching-- who wouldn't wanna watch the woman talking to herself wearing skin tight pajama pants and spongebob slippers shuffling down the dog food aisle? They have what I need when I go in. I avoid this place like the plague on weekends... I get in, I giggle at what I'm witnessing, I get my stuff, head to self checkout and I get out. This is a very blah store but it is wal mart so I don't actually expect a lot. This location is near my childhood home so I have always come here. I have seen it from the beginning and I have seen its constant downhill fall. The store is smaller and is dirty. It is run down. I can always find stereotypical wal mart people here and that often includes the staff that will yell at people or give dirty looks just for the fun of it. It general it has what is needed but honestly, just go to Target. read more

I will never absolutely ever goin the East Syracuse store again! I spent $150.00 and the kid cashing me out just kept shoving things down and piling them up! They don't bag or even ask you any more. The cashiers just stand there and get paid to do nothing except move things over a scanner. There was no hello, thank you, would you like bags, smile nothing!!! I am so sick and tired of this crap. I work to pay for things including their salaries! I actually can save more including stocked shelves at Target! Always greeted with a smile and a hello. Typical walmart. Cheap prices, low quality, okay customer service. Has everything you need but quality may not be there. Either way, you get what you pay for. This location is the same walmart as was previously here. Not sure why they changed to another title. still right next to BJs. Has grocery section that has a little bit of everything. Quality is not the best, and definitely inferior to wegmans. They have large frozen selection of pre-prepared meals as with any other walmart. This is probably one of the bigger walmarts I have been to and honestly it's the same as what I have come to expect of all other walmarts. It's nice and clean and has everything you need. Sometimes maybe hard to find but plenty of people to ask who are mostly knowledgable about which direction to go. read more

So apparently Walmart does not allow a 42 year old man to buy a 12 pack of beer should his 19 year old son be present at the time of purchase. I am all for being cautious of the sale of alcohol to minors but this is a bit to far. The bad attitude of both the cashier and her manager are just outstanding. I am sure most people would not make over $200.00 in random purchases just to slip in a $15.00, 12 pack of beer to make it "look good" to a cashier. Walmart, you sucked before this, but now you just suck more! I will take the $15K I spend on average at Walmart each year over to Target. At least they have some common sense. read more

Not a super center.... all they did was change it to one didn't renovate anything and since then the store has had issues with stocking shelves. You can some times not find common items. Also I am not against having immigrants work but that should know enough English to help you when you ask them where something is and not have them stare at you blankly..... I some times feel I need a translation app on my phone, I feel bad saying that but it's true. Employees especially in the electric department are very rood and have had "arguments" with one of them repeatedly because "he is the expert" I do my research before I make those types of purchases, one time a manager was close by and she came up to me and apologized for how the employee acted I don't see him working as much since that situation. great option for fair priced goodies! i usually go at off-peak times so it is never too crowded (my longest wait to date at check out was ~7min). i love their discount bin full of miscellaneous medications, knee braces, lip gloss, and vitamins near the toiletry/home goods area. Packaged grocery items are way cheaper than wegmans (specifically kind bars, tropicana OJ, half and half, dove chocolates). Staff at the registers and in the aisles are always helpful and pleasant. my latest discovery was the dunkin donuts near the grocery entrance (how did i not notice this before!?)...solid shopping option! read more

I mean...it's Walmart...does it really get a higher rating? An uncomfortable experience every time as with all Walmarts. But...I will say this. The greetings lady actually says hello and is friendly. And I had a gentleman worker come grab an item off a shelf for me because it was too high. And some cashiers are nice and friendly. More than many others I've gone too. I also go early in the morning. But I've also had other workers cut me off in the aisles and I've had to move out of the way as they barrel through. Some ignore me when I clearly need to ask a question. The bathroom is messy as always. So the usual Walmart. It's why I go to Target 99% of the time, I prefer to enjoy my time. read more

Went to pick up some pistol ammo with my friend .40 cal to be exact. My friend was there for some .223 we got a clerk to open the case and they brought the ammo to check out. They asked for my pistol permit, ok fine i have it, even though pistols aren't the only gun to shoot this ammo. they then ask for my friends pistol permit. He doesn't have one. long story short they wont sell the ammo to me because he doesn't have a permit. they say its store policy they won't sell ammo to parties without a permit. they assumed i was buying the ammo for him. ruined our plans for the rest of the day because we had to spend it looking for ammo. They lost a customer that day. Not sure a policy that looses you customer are the best but what do i know, i'm just a guy who looks like he would give away his expensive ammo to people. read more

Know what you want and where to find it. Near impossible to find help. Do 't bother with their Walmart app pay as I spent 10 minutes trying to get their app, my IPhone and their reader to work... It didn't. They can't look up a Walmart card even with ID. I found their cashiers to be in-friendly. Their customer service, app and ability to look up in-store credit information really needs improvement. read more
