I am mainly putting this up to warn women of Asian descent about Walmart+ deliveries. I put a three star because customer service was kind enough to help me refund my entire membership with Walmart+ and file a complaint after a delivery guy made Asian fetish and racist comments at me. Despite instructions to leave my groceries at the door (I am high risk for covid, it is fatal for me! please don't judge, saying I am high maintenance etc), he refused to leave his car and demanded I come over to his car. When he saw me, he kept calling me "Chinese girl" and told me I don't sound Asian and that I sound like a black woman. After correcting him that I am Japanese, he said that they all look the same and that "Japanese women are sexy." Incredibly unprofessional and creepy, this has happened to me before and comes from creeps of all races. Please be careful, I hope this helps! read more

This store seems as though it's GOING OUT OF BUSINESS The shelves are never stocked, there are always grocery items missing from the shelves and refrigerated sections. There are more Wal-Mart employees picking orders than helping shoppers. I shop here on a regular basis ($200 every other week) and am thinking about going back to Jewel for my groceries. read more

Went there today to get a few pop up tents. Online it said they had many in stock but I was having trouble locating them in the store. I asked one of the associates, Aaron (I believe he may have been a manager) to help me with some price checks. He was extremely patient doing price checks on all the tents. He also walked me through the whole store to find the tent I was specifically looking for. His positive attitude and great energy was honestly the best experience I've ever had at Walmart. First, let's talk about the customer service. This Walmart has great potential to be an excellent supercenter, however, there are many employees here that lack training and customer service skills to deal with unsatisfied customers. This is a suburban store with an urban setting that lacks the ability to do their job well and leave a customer satisfied even if there is nothing they can do. The language they carry is not professional for a family store and they do not leave their issues at the door. If you want to go home please do so, instead of making the customer feel like their business isn't needed with an attitude hanging all over your face. The vision center lacks the ability to provide excellent customer service and alternatives to customers that are in sticky situations. There is an eye care associate woman of African decent that lacks the ability to communicate properly in a professional setting and handle difficult situations and provide alternatives for such situations that need special attention. The only way this supercenter gets one star is because the three women that helped me in the general store and not in the vision center gave me their full on attention to de-escalate the situation and provide me with quality service. I ended up calling corporate on the vision center and received a call back from the regional manager stating his deepest apologies which also received the second star. I will not be returning to this Walmart and would not suggest anyone else shop here until they train their staff properly. read more

So um yeah. Rudeness all around. Atrocious service in the auto/tire department like I was a pain in their ass as if I came to talk to them just for fun and not to look into making a purchase and pay for some service. I'd expect this kind of flakiness if they were slammed; so not the case. They ended up not having my size anyway so I got my tire replaced elsewhere that was much faster with getting me in and out and they were *GASP* helpful?? Human beings that are helpful??? Not sad, grouchy robots low on batteries? Thank goodness my car made it to the other tire place!! This is the most pathetic and miserable wal-mart location I've ever been to. Ok.. So I read all the reviews.. I live in the city.. And I couldnt wait to get home and write a total rave review about this place. My fiance and I needed to get groceries and spraypaint.. and figured.. since we cant get spraypaint in the city.. why not venture out to Forest Park and give this Wal-Mart a try.. Reading the reviews made us a little apprehensive but knowing how cheap things are at Wal-Mart, and seeing as how this is the closest one to us, we figured we'd try it anyway. We went on a SUNDAY AFTERNOON.. and seeing as how we are no strangers to suburban Wal-Marts.. this one was no different to any other Wal-Mart we have ever been too. Oh.. the parking lot was crowded? There was lots of people? The cashiers werent excited to check you and your $300 worth of crap while your 3 kids were screaming and running around you? GUESS WHAT?!?! ITS FREAKING WAL-MART! They are all like this... And seeing as how this is the closest one to the city limits of Chicago.. and more specifically.. the Near West Side... I cant believe youd expect anything different?!?! Because.. If I had anything negative to say about this Wal-Mart.. it wouldnt be about the people who work there.. but the people who shop there.. The levels of ignorance and disrespect towards one another was almost intolerable. Watching how people treat their kids and the awful things they say to them in public makes me sick.. But Im not going to base my entire review on this.. The employees who work here WERE GREAT!! Because.. this Wal-Mart is not laid out like a typical Wal-Mart.. so we had some questions on where some things were at.. Not one employee was not able to answer a question with a smile.. I gotta say, this Wal-Mart is GROSS. I saw a lady relieve herself out in the parking lot, in broad daylight. I want to stress that the staff are GREAT. Friendly and polite, no matter how long the lines are or how nasty the person ahead of me was. Returns are always easy and done with a smile. I won't trust their auto department to do anything more than put on a new tire, but they haven't screwed that up, so it's a good place to go for that. The problem here is the clientele. This Walmart would make Sam Walton irritated. Every time I go here I feel like someone steals my cart. Every time I go here I stand in line for like 30 mins. Its always hot, airless, and dirty. The parking lot is a cluster mess as well. Also...when I was parked here I had someone attempt to break into my car. The area by my window had been scratched up like someone tried to shove a hanger between the insulation and the window. The rubber insulation was ripped..but thank goodness for my Prius it stood strong and they didn't get inside of it. Seriously...go to the Target @ brickyard...or the one on North Ave in Maywood. Drive to the Walmart in Bloomingdale or Darien...those ones are Walmart's I think Sam Walton would own up to owning. read more

THIS IS MY FIRST YELP REVIEW IN A MILLION YEARS! LOL All I have to say about this WalMart is that it's the closest WalMart to me, and that's why it gets two stars. I only go to it if I really have to, but the WalMart in Northlake is MUCH better in all aspects. Many of the employees at this location are constantly on BS and are unhelpful! The shoppers are ghetto, uncivilized, unsophisticated, and have zero manners. The restrooms are a disgrace! Merchandise is strewn all over the place and many aisles are seriously disorganized. I really dislike going to this Walmart but it is close and it is cheap. It is always crowded and dirty and I feel like I am going to get mugged when I am there. The check out lines are usually ridiculously long, and the cashiers are usually unpleasant. They generally have what I want but I skip stuff just because the aisles are too full of people with their carts parked in the middle of them for 15 mins. The Pharmacy is also very annoying. I use Walgreens now because they are quick and pleasant. They don't open up on time after they take their lunch break and they will close on time when the line is 6 deep. I had to listen to a spat between a pharmacy tech and a man trying to get his sick mother medicine. She was very rude to him and pretty much told him he was SOL cause she wasn't nice enough to let him pick up the prescription. I haven't had a bad enough experience to never go there but I avoid it as long as possible. read more

I'm not the biggest fan of Wal-Mart. Not. At. All. I avoid it as best I can. So, since my expectations are already low, I suppose I could say that this Wal-Mart is okay. I suppose it's clean and the shelves are usually somewhat orderly. Personally, I have a hard time finding stuff in this store. It could be because I'm not used to the layout, so I won't put all of the blame on Wal-Mart. Finding employees for help can be challenging. Cashiers sometimes text message on their cell phones while simultaneously checking people out. The real kicker is the line for returns/exchanges. It is intermingled with Western Union/check-cashing services so it takes MUCH longer than usual customer service lines. When I went there this morning, the front of the store was in the process of being barricaded for some sort of construction. There weren't any signs saying "please excuse our dust while we make improvements," or "still open during construction." I guessed they were open and went through the barricade and into the store. The store itself was warm (I expected refreshing AC). These nuances were probably just special treats for me today as I haven't had those experiences with this store before. read more

Are they serious? This is the worst store. The employees are horrible. The city should shut this place down, there has to be several code violations, starting with the attitudes of employees. The store is filthy and the lines are long. Why should I help these rude employees keep their job? The management staff is even worse. If I must shop at Walmart (economic times and all), I drive all the way to the store on Kingery Highway. The state of Illinois requires all not powered boats (kayaks, canoes, etc.,) to have a water usage stamp. These stamps (tax) are supposed to be available at Walmart. I went to this Walmart to get 2 stamps for my kayaks. First, it took at least 15 minutes for anyone to show up at the sporting goods counter. Second, the person had no idea what to do, but to his credit, he tried. Third, a manager came over and made the attempt. In the end, I spent more than a half hour there and went away without the required water usage stamps. read more

So glad there is a review for this store because this Walmart is possibly the dumpiest of all dumpy Walmarts. The place is always crowded and loud, it's a mess and the employees could care less. I suppose if worked there I would probably care less as well. I usually drive over to the super Target in Broadview and spend a little more $$$ than have to put up with this Walmart. Worst Walmart in the entire galaxy. Rude, lazy, and combative cashiers. Shelves are never stocked. Employees can always be found huddled around each other in an aisle hidden just talking instead of working. Management doesn't seem to care about any of this. Carts are all over the parking lot, cart corals are overflowing with carts, and parking lot is filthy with trash blowing all over. Many times I go through a line and the employee has their phone playing inappropriate music from their cell phone which is sitting on the counter and they're singing right along with the lyrics while another cashier is dancing. DUDE, this is the scariest Wal-Mart I've ever step foot in. I went there tonight with Kris W. so she could get her wired money transfer. The line was next to the customer service desk. We almost witnessed a fight between two girls. They couldn't figure out if there was one line or two. It was fun reading the cork board covered in products that have been recalled. One of them was a camera that catches fire unless you update the firmware. I almost gave this Wal-Mart two stars simply because the lady that helped us was quick and decent to us. She informed us about a Wal-Mart that is opening up in Chicago...somewhere on North Ave. I'm not too excited about this new store. I think I'll keep going to Target! read more

I called Walmart around 7 pm as I was leaving their competition and was told by a Walmart employee that the auto center closes at 8. I arrived at 7:10 and reached the counter at 7:15 (customer in front of me). I expressed my concern of a possible air leak of my tire and it becoming flat. The gentleman at the counter called the guys in the back and he reported the following to me: Him: They aren't taking anymore cars (no one else was getting any work done, I know this because I walked passed the bays). Me: So they are just hanging out for the next 45 min? Him: well no they are cleaning up, one guy is leaving at 7:30 and the other one at 8. Me: when I called I was told dept closes at 8. Him: no 7. I might be wrong but I am willing to bet this is not Walmart policy of not taking cars 45 min before closing. Tires are a simple fix, I know this because I have done my own several times without the right equipment and I can get a tire off, patched, back on in less than 30 min. Let's assume that it is Walmart policy; wouldn't human decency dictate it's night time this guy might have a flat lets check it out really quick instead of him risking getting a flat out on the road at night¿ read more

This Wal-Mart is TERRIBLE, and it all has to do with the clientele. The workers are very nice and that is the reason why I gave it the extra star. However, no one in the parking lot knows how to drive, and you risk being hit whether on foot or still in the car. I wouldn't even risk cutting through this lot if I needed to get to a store on the other side of the mall. And once you get in the store, the people walk like drunk drivers; aimlessley spinning around with no order, rhyme or reason why they do what they do, often stepping on your feet or bumping into you. Store after all seems to be in decent shape, it could be better but it looks they have a new manager that is trying to work with less people, you can tell some of the ladies that work there seem to be in a lot of stress due to the multi tasks they neeed to perform, i talked to few of them and they looks like most of them are not getting 40 hrs a week, it makes me wonder if it is a way to not provide benefits or the manager can collect more bonuses this way, not so good for customers that want to spend their money when they see long faces and the store in not so great shape, the one on Cicero Ave and 35th seems to be in better shape, more people working there therefore it look way better. read more

Unfortunately I was "forced" to go to this Walmart yesterday (the item I needed was over $100 online, but only $34.99 at Walmart-in store only. ) As usual, parking was a total nightmare, but only more so, as they are doing some type of construction to the parking lot itself. Therefore, the bad drivers that normally visit this Walmart are even scarier, as they have no idea how to navigate the orange safety cones and cordoned off sections of parking lot. I was unable to locate the item I was interested in purchasing, and sought to seek assistance from an employee. (I know, stupid me...). I literally had 20 employees look at me and keep walking past me. Even my 7 year old daughter exclaimed out loud "DOES ANYONE WORK HERE?!" For all of her troubles, she received a strange look from an employee who was on her way to the employee lounge. (Where if I didn't know better, I'd swear the store's entire employee base was located.) The phone in the area I was in rang constantly, and NO ONE answered it. Employees walked by, looked at the ringing phone and continued to walk away. Simply shameful. Eventually, I gave up hoping that someone would assist me. I came across a somewhat pleasant looking employee and asked her if she would mind getting on the intercom and asking for assistance in the area I was in. Instead, she politely asked me what I needed help with, and she actually ASSISTED ME! She was so helpful I had to stop for a minute and check to see if I was really in WALMART instead of Target. She didn't mind helping me, despite the fact that I was not in "her area". I was able to locate the item I needed and was thrilled. My happiness was short lived however. I got to the registers, and I was stuck in line for over 20 minutes (despite being in an "express" line). When it was my turn, the cashier didn't even acknowledge me. Worse still, someone had previously spilled a drink on the conveyor belt, and not only had she not bothered to clean it up, but she also almost got my item wet in the spill! The only time the cashier spoke to me was to tell me how much money I owed at the end of my transaction. After I paid, I told her "thank you" and she didn't even look at me, let alone respond in kind. The door greeter was probably a day shy of his 90th birthday, and I found it weird that he was "greeting" me on my way out of the store, as opposed to entering the store. He thanked me for coming to Walmart (or at least that's what I'm going to believe he said, because I could barely understand a word he said.). Despite the wonderful assistance of the lone pleasant employee, I plan on doing my damndest to avoid this Walmart like the plague that it is. read more

As someone that's been shipping here for over 20 years all I can says associates are the worst when it comes to providing customer service. And let me also note that when you ask them for help they'll be giving you attitude and even rolling their eyes like really hire some people that have some customer service skills and not just those not doing their job and just complaining. Since this store has all I need in my groceries list I'll unfortunately still be shopping here but won't really recommend it to anyone else if they can stay away. read more

Well I have had many good experiences here. The lines tend to be a little long but in the last 6 months or so I have noticed more Walmart Employees on the sales floor making it look nice and organized. So I went to the Auto Tire portion to buy 2 new tires (they did have the best price) and there were many employees in this area too. There was a nice lady that checked to ensure that they had my tire size. Then she sent me outside to have one of the techs check me in. There was some confusion as to which employee would do it finally it was done and I was told about 45 minutes to complete. Well then about 20 minutes later he tells me its going to be 2 to 2 1/2 hours. I say that sucks but OK. If you had told me that to begin with I would have gone somewhere else. So I return in about 2 hours to check on the progress and they have not started on my vehicle. The manager asks me why didn't I respond to the page because the tech had a question about me car. I say I did respond and was told that it would be 2 to 2 1/2 hours. However, now I have returned and my vehicle has not even been started and all the tech just went to lunch so it will be an hour before they start. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I wait because my tire has a slow leak and I am afraid I will get a flat. The Tech comes back and installs the tires. The total wait time 4 1/2 hours. The next day I am driving on the highway and when I get to 65 which doesn't happen until after rush hour I feel the steering wheel shaking. Damn the tires are not balanced appropriately and I will have to go back there to get it corrected. The auto manager was nice enough but that doesn't make up for the service and I am dreading having to go back. read more

I NEVER have to go back! YAY! I ordered my prescription refill on th phone in the morning before I left to house sit for a week. The phone would not let me make a pick up earlier than 5PM. That is 6 hours in the future! But I thought... I can delay going. They never called to say the prescription was ready and i was in line. U was behind some people the counter girl shooed away... I really have no idea why. It made me next though. You can say Hello how can I help you and make it rude, it can represent your entire hatred of me and wage slavery... and I will just answer. You can slap things around and make it very clear you would prefer that I filled my order elsewhere... and I am deeply sorry you hate your job. She took my name and seemed to find glee in staying they did not have my meds in stock. The pharmacist asked if I got a call saying it was not ready. I did not, it was not available until the next day. That would not do. O do nopt rive and was heading to The North Side, there is no walmart there and I am not hunting on my time after work on Monday. WHY DID YOU NOT CALL! I do not have a car. as I was house sitting I had a ride to the North Side! I was at 3 but we waited for Walmart! We drove to Buck Town from Forest Park. 20 Minutes later Walmart Called! They had found a asthma inhaler, it was magic it was sublime! It was odd really. They asked if I was in the store. Obviously I was not as I had waited some 2 extra hours to find out it was out of stock. As a side note I do not buy food there are there if often out of soap or towels in the men's room! Um... nasty! I decided to move my prescriptions to Walgreen's on line, yeah, you can do it on line! Everything was ready when I left work! No giant Walmart line and nice people! Zero stars. Zero patience for this place that has zero patience and care for its customers. Food side has great selection tho! Please pay attention to all the low reviews and save yourself the heart ache. Make sure to wake up early enough to beat the crowds and NEVER go on a Sunday!! Parking is hard to find and has security not to mention people putting protection bars on their steering wheels so they won't get stolen. Store layout is disorganized and it's always messy. Terrible auto center service. We needed a battery replacement and we came on a Saturday afternoon. They said it could take HOURS because the technicians were working on other things. The issue with this Forest Park store stems from poor customer service. When No one was available to help my elderly father place a large item on a dolly, I was disappointed. When I saw the cart handler (the one who helps place large heavy items on the dolly) sitting on a ride on cart talking on his phone, I started to feel annoyed. When I saw my father trying to explain to the employees that he needed the ride on toy assembled for his grandson's birthday and listened as the employees explain that No one was sure if the assembly man would be able to assemble our product, I felt shocked. Surprisingly, the assembly person agreed that he could build the toy after all. 30 minutes later, when the assembly person did not provide the owner's manual or the ride on toy's battery charge. I was told by the customer service employee that if I didn't receive it; "they ain't have it." When I asked how the assembly person managed to assemble the ride on toy without the instructions included in the owners manual, the employee stated "he know what he doin". Instead of arguing with the employee and ruining my day, I thought an accurate review of my experience would suffice. read more

PEOPLE AVOID GOING TO THIS WALMART They will accuse you of being a thief!! 6/24th me and my sister stop by to get some things and she bought swimming goggles they were three to a package which the package was not small. We left when we got home that we were taking everything out of the bags the goggles were not in the bag we did look around the car, the house we did not find them so later in the evening around 8ish we returned. She went to customer service where she met with the RUDEST EMPLOYEES! Manager, employee, and Security! They Gave her such a hard time, basically saying that she was lying. Security proceded to say that he saw the video and said that he saw the cashier put the goggles in a bag then we proceeded to take the back!!! We were not there even 15 minutes so how could he have seen the video that fast and no what was in the bag with the goggles. How did he know the goggles fell right in the same bag when there are so many bags open going around. For all we know the car goes yeah I fell in a bag but not just the one that we took. Those employees will be reported to the corporate office and you can count on that! I guess somebody has to pay for the real thief's that they don't catch!!!!!! read more

Thought I would try it the grocery pick up app. Disaster. The hour I was to pick up order came and went. Called to get answers and was bounced around from one clueless employee to next. My card was charged, no email to confirm the order was ready and no customer service available. Buyer beware. It's a cluster. They cannot compete with Amazon or InstaCart. Shopping here always poses an ethical dliema for me, as this store chain is particularly exploitive to their employees. It's unfair that we taxpayers should subsidize Medicare and food stamp benefits for their minimum wage, part-time (no benefits) labor force. But I gotta admit, the prices are hard to beat. I hate myself for it. But money is tight these days. So I hold my nose and shop here from time to time. This particular Wal Mart gets two stars (instead of just one like mos Wal Marts deserve) because it is very clean, modern, and large. The clothing selections are mostly for overweight people (as you might expect), but the selection of this and everything else at this store is quite good. read more
