Today I made my 2nd and final donation to this place. I decided to donate here because I pass by it on the way home from work and I have found some nice items in the past. I rung the doorbell and a grumpy old man with glasses came to door. No hello, no verbiage. Either he has a vocal problem or didn't want to be bothered I couldn't figure it out. He reached for a bag I placed on the ground and took it inside. He came back and thought I was going to hand him the 2nd bag which I placed it on the ground for him. A short older guy came to assist and he took the luggage and 3rd bag. He told me to have a nice day but I requested a receipt. The grump man gave it to me. The shorter guy thanked me for the donation. I know these guys volunteer their time. I just can't deal with with rudeness at any age. read more

This is a wonderful resale thrift shop! I go to alot of different places like this all over Ill. But this is the first resale shop that is wonderful in almost every way! I wish they had more hours. But what they have offers enough time for me to shop there. Such a pleasant shopping experience! My Husband luvs the store too & trust me he is not into shopping. We both had a great time! The store is super neat & the prices are low to very fair. Push baskets to shop with. Enough room to browse around. Round racks for clothing so you don't have to be in a narrow isle & in someone's way. Dressing rooms if you need them. The clothes & other items are very nice. Not junk as other stores try to sell & for high prices. The prices are good & reasonable. I go for clothes & more. But they do have a very nice selection of furniture, dishes & house items, toys, shoes, nice coats & much more. This was my first time shopping at this wonderful store. I plan to go back as much as I can. I was lucky to be there when all blue tickets of clothes were only $1! Yes, $1!. You can't even buy anything at a $1 Tree store for $1 anymore! Some things are a bit pricey but not bad at all! I love shopping at store like this. Many people donate nice clothes etc. Also I luv finding different kinds of jackets, coats, tops & more that you do not see in chain stores. The staff is very friendly greeting waiting to get in customers with a cheerful "Good Morning" & so pleasant to deal with. For the holidays I see the store has extended hours. The down side is the regular hours are only 3 weekdays open from 10 am till 4 pm. But I will take it. I am retired so very lucky I can shop here & it is not super far for us to drive to. There is a huge parking lot in the back as well. I can't wait to shop here again. For some time I was shopping at another thrift store & 1 of the volunteers was so unpleasant & mean to me. So, It looks like they lost alot of my business. This is another reason I am so happy Gerry & I finally tried this store. We always drive by it & now we can shop here & find some nice things. Wow, what a find! I had driven past this place for years and never thought of stopping in. Today I decided to make a visit. It's totally a hidden gem. They carry household items, a great selection of books, clothing and jewelry as well. The clothing selection is not as amazing as the household things, but I did find a nice sweater. And a set of Marimekko napkins for a quarter! They had amazing stuff and at super reasonable prices. Expect to spend some time in the store because there is so much to see. I'm sure I missed some things, but you can be sure I'm going to visit frequently. Clean, organized and helpful employees make this place a great experience. It is beyond my comprehension there a thrift store would be closed on Saturday. I was ready to open up my Wallet and give them all my money.

This place looks nice from the outside. That's where I was left after going outta my way to visit this establishment after driving past for a few years and wondering. You have to make an appointment to go inside. How could/does anyone know this prior to a visit. read more

I was excited to finally get here and check it out. Honestly, it is NOT upscale, and it is not inexpensive. The artwork is priced higher than divine consign, and it is not as good. There were a couple of things there that were priced above the original selling price. We were also told to "keep your cart out of the aisle" after a public "Whose cart is this?" I also have to mention that the religious music worries me. Lately Christianity has been used for so much hate and discrimination that I did not feel comfortable being here, or spending money here. read more

I just don't know why I'm constantly abusing myself by reviewing businesses in sweet, nice, calm Broadview, IL, but for some bad reason I am. I miss this thrift store, a lot, even though I hardly visited it when I lived in Maywood. I think like between 2002-2007, I went to this place three times, but each trip was a good one. I didn't get a chance to purchase much, but the large selection of cheap, clean, neatly organized merchandise always made me wish I had much more money on hand to buy more. The staff were always friendly and helpful, every time I came here, so that's something else which always made me feel welcome. Okay, nostalgia's overtaken me! I've gotta come back here very soon! OK, first let's address the name of the store. New To You "Upscale" Resale Store. So, it's not what I expected. When I read the word "upscale", I figured they would have a choosier selection. I thought it would be a little fancier and have some upscale merchandise for some good deals. Overall, it reminded me of every other thrift store. It was clean and very organized. They had some good furniture and housewares and some good deals to be had. I saw an entire dining set that my mom had from close to 50 years ago for only $45. Brought back a lot of childhood memories for me. They had some really nice dinnerware, but it was nostalgic. (A whole rack of shirts for $2? Sweeeeet.) However, it was "OK". I was really looking forward to finally making it to this store, but it was somewhat "run of the mill" for me. Not knocking it -it is a solid little store and I'm sure there are many deals to be had. This store has an extensive selection of housewares, books, furniture, clothes and all types of knick knacks and bric-a-brac. I bought some Noritake bone china that was VERY reasonably prices. There were a few furniture pieces that I would of purchased if I has a larger place. The customer service is superb. I am definitely going to return read more

Went in found the buffet I was looking for. Asked the manager to hold for a few hours so I could arrange moving.when I called to tell her I had someone coming and give her my credit card # she told me she sold it to someone else! a half hour earlier. Seriously inept customer care. I won't be back. They should consider a new manager coz this one doesn't care. Super disappointing. read more

Very reasonably priced assortment of clothing, home decor, toys, furniture, shoes, books, etc. Not the best clothing selection, you'd be better off at Goodwill, but I've found some great furniture and home decor here. I love the vibe. The senior volunteers aren't the speediest, but they make up for it with their service. read more

I am addicted to shopping here. It's in a sketchy area and busy intersection but inside is a haven of quality furniture and friendly staff people. ALL the workers are UNPAID. The baby stuff is great, I have found MANY clothing items that are all super cheap, maternity clothes, mens pants and ties, purses. I hate to admit it but I even got a practically brand new Victoria Secret push up bra for 2 bucks there. Their books are organized and the store is always very clean. You can furnish your whole house here for under 1,000$, the money goes to the schools that are run by the church that runs the store, so you are helping pay for the school and scholarships for children by shopping here. I always donate to this shop - the drivers are very nice and dependable. I don't have to do anything except point out what I am donating. I have received a slip of paper for my records to take credit on tax returns. It's up to me to fill it out and determine the value of donated items. If I had transportation I definitely would check it out. read more
