I was hired as a photographer to capture 2 birthday celebrations. It was my first time there. First of all, it's neat and clean, the men up front are very nice and professional. I am not a smoker so I became light headed and they offered me a seat outside of the smoker chambers, they provided me with soda and ibuprofen to take away my horrible headache and it worked! They communicated very well. It was overall a great experience and I would recommend any smoker to visit this location to relax (multiple tvs going at the same time in different rooms, the chairs were so plush and comfortable). Second time coming here already but I must say the staff sucks big time !!! You walk in and no hospitality or nothing nothing I say. This owners need to step up with this two people that work there and think they own the place and could care less who's in the place and everything. Once again I brought friends to buy cigar waste money in this place and my friends were so disappointed.. They don't say hi or what we need or nothing nothing at all. And I work in a hospitality business and I know how to treat people that come to businesses and are spending money on the business. I found a great cigar lounge in the Western suburbs. I usually go to Hyde Park for my cigars but I live in the west Loop so this is perfect for me. Plus this Lounge is way nicer. I really hate to do this, but here it goes. I approached this business to order some cigars for my husband. He is particular and has an exact need. That being said, I admit that I was partly responsible in the incorrect order of our first request (Macanudo, Robust, Baron de Rothschild, store ordered Hyde Park). In the end, the cigars that arrived were neither Robust nor Barons. The second time, my husband and I personally visited the store and requested Macanudo, Baron de Rothschild, in the Robust flavor. The salesgirl order Macanudo, Barons, but did not specify Robust as she incorrectly assumed "robust" meant the size of the cigar, not flavor. Therefore, when I went to pick up the cigars, they were cafe flavor, and over $250 per box of 25. Hmm. Cigars.com has them listed for 117.00 per box. I find it hard to believe that mark-up and tax would account for a 100% difference in price. After pointing out the second mistake (in which Nicole admitted she did not know that "robust" referred to flavor not size in Macanudo's), she offered to re-order. I specifically told her we would be leaving the country the next Wednesday at 8 am. On Tuesday, I went to pick up the cigars. I was told they would be ready the day of our departure at 3 pm. Not going to help, Casa de Puros. The manager, Brian, was helpful until the last experience, when he basically tried to explain the mistakes on our ordering the wrong thing. I am sorry, but three times we told you what to order. The indifference on the last visit was the impetus for this review. You brushed me off, you acted like you did not know how to do a return, and that your employees are infallible, when they clearly do not know a major cigar brand and it's nomenclature for flavor. The store is beautiful, but this is a place for newcomers or people who want to status quo of cigar smoking without the connoisseur's knowledge of real cigar flavor and sizing. read more

This cigar shop knocked me on my feet. There are no words to describe how absolutely gorgeous this store and lounge are. This is a true cigar store. Not a tobacco store. You will not find RYO's, etc. You will seriously melt and feel as if your ship came in when you sink into their plush leather seating and enjoy one by the fire. The lounge features wifi access,audio, video, and gaming, and a small kitchenette. If you become a member, you have access to their private lounge, a storage locker, coffee, espresso, and a discount on cigars. It is seriously drool worthy in there. Every wall features built in show case humidors. Prices are spot on for the location and what you would expect to pay for a quality cigar. It's the Crook County taxes that will hurt your wallet. The ventilation system was perfect. You could only smell fresh tobacco leaves, not old man smoke. The store was absolutely spotless, not dusty like most. read more

I went here with a couple friends back in December to try and find a decent cigar lounge close to home and I was pretty disappointed with this place. My number one issue with this place was that if you want to smoke cigars there, there's all of about six chairs to sit and grab a smoke. They have this really nice and large lounge with nice couches and chairs just off the floor, but it's only for members. Just like with their sister company, Casa de Montecristo, if you're not spending hundreds of dollars with them each month you get relegated to the cheap seats where me and two friends had to sit cramped in front of a display case to smoke our stogies and catch up. Their selection here was ok at best and the place is fairly cramped since the members only lounge takes up the bulk of the real estate. I appreciate wanting to create an exclusive vibe for your members, but it's also this exclusivity that gives off a pretentious vibe. There are definitely better cigar lounges/stores out there and considering they overcharge for their cigars, I don't think I'll be back here. read more

Went here last night to watch the game and smoke a pipe. I didn't go into their VIP lounge,but the free smoking area is just as comfortable and accommodating. The staff was very hospitable asking if we'd like any water or coffee. A few guys even ordered a pizza from across the street, and the staff was happy to set up a table for them. Their cigar selection is pretty big. Cigars range from a few dollars to around $80. For pipes and pipe tobacco, it's okay; there are a handful of pipes, a few accessories, and a decent selection of tinned tobacco. I'm guessing the overwhelming majority of their clientele is cigar smokers, so it makes sense. I work in the area, so I'll probably go again when I get out and need to get some additional work done. read more

Best shop around! I was greeted as soon as I walked in by friendly staff who soon proved to have valuable knowledge as well as polite mannerism. The store itself was immaculate, left nothing more to be desired. The selection was great, and based upon what I had originally came in for, I was shown many cigars in the "if you like that you might like this" fashion, which i liked. Today was my first time in, but I will be getting myself a membership, it pays for the kind of environment it entails. A member was in the front area buying a cigar, commented on my selection and made smalltalk, it gave the place a very welcoming quality despite me not being a member yet. I cant wait to return there! The owner roles and blends his own cigars and they are amazing. Very friendly atmosphere and great staff. It's like a place you see in the movies, comfy big leather chairs, lots of beautiful wood paneling, a walk-in humidor, and a couple of giant TV's if you want to watch something. My girlfriend and I went there for a beer and cigar pairing event. It costs us $10 and you got one cigar (the cigar I got costs $8, you don't just get the cheap cigars) and all the beer you could taste in a three hour period. A fun time was had by all! read more

Super comfortable leather chairs and recliners to relax in. A couple really nice flat screens to watch when relaxing with your cigar. This is one of the more upscale cigar shop I have ever been in. Their staff are knowledgeable and always friendly, especially Tim. Prices for cigars are a little high, but worth it considering the other local places... They have a very wide selection of finer cigars. Every time I've gone in there I've been able to find exactly what I'm looking for, or I was able to find something new and delicious. The interior is super nice. Beautiful wood paneling, HDTVs all over the place, gorgeous glass humidors as well as a large walk-in humidor. And don't even get me started on the lounge... I saw an advertisement on the I-290 and decided to pull off at Harlem and make my way to this cigar shop. I absolutely loved the look and the owner walked me around and made me feel very welcome. He was a darker guy (maybe Tony?) and he explained the membership and was very cool. I came back and he was rude, distant and seemed preoccupied with members. It is with great joy that I write this review of Casa de Puros in Forest Park: I had an hour to kill between meetings and popped into Casa de Puros; I saw their ad on a digital billboard above 290 (really, advertising does work!) First impression: "Holy shit - this is where cigar smokers go when they get to heaven!" I opened the door into the foyer and walked into a warm, mahogany-walled room before I was greeted with "Hey there, welcome to the casa!" The owner, Tim, shook my hand and showed me into a massive humidor. I have never seen such a well stocked, diverse humidor. No stale cigar smell, only tobacco and cedar. I picked out a couple faves and a new smoke before I was invited into the lounge to "meet the guys" and have a cup of coffee. Selection: second to none; all the basics + several rare/hard to find smokes. Price: appropriate for the location and selection; you will find an above average smoke for $5-8 and some great selections in the $12+ range. Atmosphere: leather chairs, fireplace, plasma tv's showing sports from around the world, and a nice mug of coffee or tea. Even if you only "kinda" like cigars, make a point to visit the locally owned Casa de Puros. If you are an aficionado, then you'll be right at home. read more

10 Stars? 15 Stars, 20 Stars? 5 Stars is not enough for this Utopia of the male spirit. Casa de Puros reminds me of some of the high end Cigar Lounges that I have read about in Cigar Aficionado. The inside could be easily featured in a Cigar Lounge in Manhattan, Las Vegas or London. It's first class all the way. The Humidor is spotless and perfectly maintained. The smell of the Humidor is worth the trip to Forest Park alone. The Cigars they offer are high end all the way. I picked up a couple of the brand new Rocky Patel's and a few other tasty goodies. Considering the quality of Cigars that Casa de Puros offers, the prices are very reasonable. The owner took the time to show me around the place. There is a Private lounge that he was nice enough to let me try. For a membership fee you have access to a storage locker that is also a humidor. The lounge has a huge flat screen TV with a sound system that's second to none. If I lived closer, I would take them up on their membership. It would be a great place to relax and enjoy a good Cigar. The bottom line is: If you are looking for a Swisher Sweet or Dutch Master, Casa de Puros might not be for you. But if you are a Cigar nut like I am, you will be in Havanan Heaven. This place is for the Hard Core Cigar junkie. Regardless where you live in the Chicago area, it's worth the trip. read more

I am a huge cigar fan (the good stuff), but I wish more women would explore the world of cigars. I first discovered Casa de Puros a few years ago after stumbling upon it while walking the neighborhood. I walked in and was amazed at the beauty of this hidden treasure. The wood paneling throughout, the lush leather chairs in the members-only lounge, the ginormous and well-stocked humidors with top brands, to boot! I spoke with the owner, who showed me brands which were popular with his female customers and also showed me his personal line of cigars, which was named after his grandfather. The private lounge is amazing...leather chairs throughout and personal lockers for members. Some folks have said the cigars are pricey, buy you certainly get what you pay for and I think they're worth it. This is a great place to lounge with friends or to host a cigar event. It's just a bad place for a cigar shop. You're in an area that is mainly families and kids. You're right across from the town's only ice cream shop, right under condos, and right next to family restaurants. In the summer, they open the windows, and you can literally see everyone looking at you wishing you weren't there. I smoke. I don't mind killing myself, but it makes me feel weird killing other people. I just wish this shop was in a different location or they kept the windows closed. I don't mind gong in during the winter. read more

"Former" member. Found out with new ownership that my previously purchased membership is now void and I can regain membership by spending $250 a month at the shop. The lounge is very nice, but $250 a month to smoke there is exhorbitant. Stopped in to pick up a few cigars and was greeted by the new owners as I tried to enter the now-locked humidor. "Oh, door's locked," I said to the approaching staff member. "Always," he replied. He opened the door then hovered over me as I made my selections. I was on a motorcycle and therefore not dressed in my cigar-lounge finest; I guess I looked to him like I was going to lift a cigar or two. New owner explained some of the new ground rules of the shop - including the locked humidor and the new membership terms - which made it clear they were unhappy with the atmosphere under previous ownership. I can understand a bit of that - the lounge had an annoying tendency to degenerate into a loud party room rather than a relaxing place to enjoy a cigar and watch sports, and there was one know-it-all guy in particular who seemed to never leave who held court and never stopped pontificating and was always a distraction. So some sort of change was probably in order. Nevertheless, I have fond memories of the previous ownership and the friends I had made at the lounge. I'm not a serious enough cigar smoker to follow the new owners upmarket. I wish them well. read more

They staff there is so friendly and the selection is amazing. They even redid the lounge and it is restocked with all the drinks you could want and a 100% better selection of cigars. Ran into this place after visiting House Red across the street - a wine bar. I'm not a big fan of wine so I said let's check this place out. It can be a bit intimidating since cigar smoking is still a guy thing, but whatever - I asked the owner which one he would recommend for me since I like the smell of vanilla tasting cigars. He picked out the perfect one for me - Cao Moontrance (exotic fruit and bourbon vanilla). Sooo good, I'm still craving it!! So my friend and I decided to stay and have our smoke on. There is a back area with lounge chairs, a private bar, lockers, and a TV for members only, but the front area is a nice place to chill for a little bit too. The place has a nice old, cabin like feel to it so you can get pretty comfortable in there. Of course since we were two ladies, the members slowly started to move toward the non-member area to socialize with us. LOL Guess they don't get a lot of women in here! read more

Knew to give me a little space while shopping, showed me what I was having trouble finding. Then invited me use the Members Only section on the cuff. I hear people complain about the parking, but we got a spot right in front on a Saturday night, and there is ample parking right around the corner. If you enjoy a nice and relaxing atmosphere you have to visit Casa De Puro. I just went to this place and thought it was a fantastic little spot. A friend of mine told me that it recently came under new management and that their have been a lot of improvements. The VIP area is very old school and the foyer area is more modern with an open floor plan and large windows that open out to the sidewalk. I've been to several cigar lounges and definitely would recommend this very nice spot to enjoy a good variety of premium cigars. read more

This is cool hang out spot. They watch movies and have parties every once in a while. A huge choice of cigars and some jewelry. The people are friendly and sometimes will be puffing on a fat one when you come in. They know exactly what you're looking for. I told them I wanted a leaf and they said "slow burn" Yes! You know exactly what I'm asking for. Not big fruity flavor choices. But you can get a membership for like $500 a year. A neighborhood getaway for smokers. Like a bar is for drinkers. The staff is decently knowledgeable in their cigars, the selection of cigars to choose from is about a 7, they have a private lounge for VIPs which I don't like but I get it. Good place overall with the huge plus of the location being on Madison Ave in Forest Park next to all the restaurants thus I will definitely revisit. read more
