When I first got food from Pete's Market in Oak Park, I was quite impressed. The food was delicious. I liked the set up. I saw they had a lot of variety and appealing options for food. The grocery store is clean and well-organized. The staff have been attentive. I definitely got a family vibe from the store. They even have a dining area. When I ate the baklava there for the first time, it brought light to my eyes and joy to my mouth. I have enjoyed their fruit produce a lot as well. My favorite food from the store has been their fruit produce and their hot food section, but they have a lot of other awesome food as well. I have not been eating a lot of sweets, but their baked goods look delicious. Their veggies also look fantastic. I have gotten celery there that I liked a lot. Pete's Market in Oak Park even has foods I have had trouble finding in other stores, e.g., cans of soy milk. The lamb they have in their hot food section is out of this world. I have not even seen lamb in other grocery stores as part of hot foods/prepared foods. Overall, Pete's Market is one of my favorite grocery stores. I have found myself craving their food multiple times. When I am not there, I have thought about and looked forward to when I could go there again, like a special treat. I would definitely recommend the food here to almost anyone.

Tired of walking the same five aisles at your regular grocery store? This place is the antidote…read more The first thing that hit me walking in was how different everything felt: shelves stocked with items I don't normally see, the kind of variety that makes meal planning fun again instead of routine. If you've ever stood in your usual store wondering why every dish you cook ends up tasting the same, this is where you go to break that cycle. It's a big store, but don't let that intimidate you. I expected to get turned around a few times, but the layout makes sense and everything is easy enough to find. What really stood out was the produce and the fresh sections I walked through. You can tell things are turned over regularly, nothing looked tired or picked over. Now, the honest part. Prices here run about 20% higher than what you'd pay at a typical grocery store. That's the trade-off, and I want to be upfront about it rather than let you find out at checkout. But here's the thing: if that difference doesn't break your budget, this is absolutely worth it. You're not just paying for groceries, you're paying for the chance to discover something you wouldn't have found anywhere else in the neighborhood. So if you're the type who gets a little bored buying the same brands week after week, do yourself a favor and take the detour. Wander the aisles, grab something you don't recognize, and let this place shake up your routine a little. Sometimes the best meals start with a store you didn't expect to fall for.

They have dine-in available, which I found helpful and was grateful for. I was also grateful that they have prepared meal options, including sushi. The prepared meal options aside from sushi looked great, e.g., Italian dishes, salmon, chicken meals. This store had a self checkout kiosk, although I was not sure regarding its availability.

We passed this place the other night, and we knew we had to take another trip out to explore this place further! I knew I had to get some of the variously imported Turkish Delights and the bulk of the roasted & seasoned nuts for my parents, especially my dad, as he love some good nuts and nut snacks! I recommend in getting their trays that come in different sizes to get an assortment - that's what we did: +Noga with Pistachio Hazelnut & Almond +Coconut with Orange Hazelnut +Pomegranate & Pistachio Covered with Dried Cranberries +Sliced Pistachio Orange with Hazelnut +Milk Chocolate Moons +Pistachio Chocolate Moons We also had a mix of the Mix Mayasi Peanuts (savory and crispy!) and the Spicy Peanuts (super spicy and great for spice fiends!). The store itself is extremely organized and laid out strategically, with plenty of room to move around. The staff here are welcoming, offers samples, and very informative; they are super helpful and in no way do they rush you! They are more than happy to provide any suggestions or recommendations. There's also plenty of (tight) parking, right in front, in the small strip plaza it's located in. Adrian's is designed to serve the neighbors for their quick needs, last minute items, and etc. The items sold here, for the most part, are hispanic-focused. With that being said, if you try to look for particular, major name-brand goods, it is best to be directed to large-scale supermarkets. Their kitchen also serves tacos and tortas! However, you would want to get there before 6pm. I think one time my partner got to Adrian's right before the cutoff and was turned away. Anyways, I had their asada and pastor tacos and they were very good considering they came from a neighborhood grocery store. Spicy green salsa and lime wedges were included as well. My mom was a regular to Adrian's since she didn't want to go far to get her daily groceries whenever she came and visited me in Chicago. She would sometimes get the pozole rojo on the weekends and I personally enjoyed it as well. Overall, the existence of "Adrian's Fresh Market" has been a wonderful experience for the neighborhood residents. We will certainly continue to patronize this business.
