Dirty, produce is terrible. Staff is hit and miss for knowledge, and courtesy, mostly miss.

Today I was shopping at Walmart and I left a bag of items at the Scan and Go isle.....totally my fault. When I got home I realized my faux pas and call the store they went out of their way to help me. I went back to the store and they reconstructed my purchase and assisted me in getting my order back. Apparently the person behind me was dishonest and took my order....well Karma will take care of him. But thank you to the customer service team I very much appreciate the time and kind service. read more

I really liked this Walmart - bought tires and auto service and around $500 a month for groceries for the last 4 years that I have been living up here. Today I met "miss attitude" assistant manager Angie - suffice to say I will not be going to this Wal Mart anymore - rude employees are easy to find and even easier to replace. read more

Worst Walmart I have even been in. From empty isles, to absolutely no check stands being open at 9:30 pm on a Saturday, to rude customer service. We live on the border of California and drive 2 hours to buy necessities at Walmart, 3 carts full after doing circles to find things because it was so bare, we went to check out and not one check stand was open despite their being several workers chit chatting at the stands. I ask if any are open to which I am barely pointed to self check out. After 3 carts full or checking and bagging and constant need for help from an associate due to alcohol and mistakes on the computer and pricing we finally are about to leave. After reviewing the receipt I see a mistake in the pricing of a liquor and tell an associate to which I'm rudely told no refunds whatsoever and to come back tomorrow morning if I want to speak to customer service. Fed up I'm going to suck it up and won't be back! Disappointed Walmart!! read more

I usually brace myself when entering a Walmart. Often I anticipate wrecked bathrooms, messy aisles, interestingly attired customers, and eccentric cashiers. During today's visit to this Walmart I got none of that. The restrooms were impeccably clean and the aisles were spatious, organized, and neat. I was on a mission to find some beach towels and found them almost instantly. When I went to the check out, I was taken out of line into and served in another by a very friendly cashier. I had to blink twice. This store reminds me of what Walmart used to be like when it first opened in my hometown, friendly and tidy while offering items at good prices. read more

Worst walmart EVER! I don't get paid to self checkout.. waited 30 minutes and finally get to the clerk. Im 62 and did not have my wallet. They denied my purchase of alcohol!. They don't care about Seniors..They have one hour of one day per week for seniors to go in!. The time is 6am to 7am Tuesday.. This Walmart needs new management! This store is a mess. I live locally to the store. Half the time the shelves are bare. There are usually only two checkers working which causes long lines at both the checkers and the self-service. The self-service now only takes credit/debit cards. Cash is no good anymore at this store? All the other Walmarts still take cash. What's up with this store? The Pharmacy closes every day from 1:30 PM to 2 PM. Why? There are usually 3 to 4 people working in the pharmacy. They can't take turns taking breaks? The other day I went there at 1:15 PM and it was already closed. Really? I had to make a special trip back to get my Rx. I just got back from going there to swap out my propane tank with a new one. I went to Customer Service and, guess what, it was closed. I was told that they would be back at 1:45 pm and that they were on break. Really? I now have to make a special trip back to swap out my propane tank. I only go to this Walmart because it is local and I don't want to have to drive to Carson City to go to a "good" Walmart. The management at this store needs to really step it up and improve. Most of my friends are complaining about this store as well. They will lose my business and probably some of my friends as well if they don't start to improve their overall service. read more

I picked up my first online order today from the store in Gardnerville, Easter Sunday. I had to wait about 20 minutes because they were busy helping other customers. There were about 7 cars ahead of me. Heather and Kathya were the two employees who were loading the grocery items into everyone's vehicles. They were so friendly and professional. Bottom line up front, the mechanics are incompetent and have no integrity. It is not recommended that anyone bring their car here. To save time I go to Walmart Auto Center to get my oil changed. I came in with a bottle of oil treatment as always. I asked for the standard oil change as always. My car uses 5 qts of oil. I bought a 5 qt jug and supplied the 1 qt of oil treatment. In the past they have always returned the jug with one 1 qt left over. When I returned to my car I found a half bottle of oil treatment. So I went back to the mechanics and told them that they did not do the job correctly. So they went back and drain the oil to add the rest of the treatment. When they returned my keys I asked for my extra quart and the guy said, "there is nothing I can do about that"... I asked to speak with a manager. The mechanic phoned it and I waited... And waited. Finally after half an hour I asked a different mechanic to speak with a manager. They showed up within two minutes. When the mechanic arrived he told a completely different story. He said he did the job, and I caught him in a straight lie. If he really did do the job, then that means he put 6 qts in an engine that fits 5.6 at the max. The manager and I checked my dip stick and found it way over filled. They finally drained the oil and comped me a quart of oil, I left. Now my car does not have the right mixture of oil treatment. The mechanics were willing to screw me over, and let me drive off in a car with too much oil. We all make mistakes, but the mechanic did not even admit to it. I will never return to that auto center again. I do not recommend anyone trust this auto center again. read more

I would give this place higher stars but the customer service here SUCKS!!! The employees never look you in the eye when talking to them and seem annoyed when asking a simple question. I recently went here to buy a new bike and I had to walk around to find a salesperson to help me. When I finally found someone, they rolled their eyes and called for someone else to help. I went back to the bikes and waited and waited and waited. I gave up and walked out. Apparently I went into this store the day only 3 people were working. Ugh. This is a clean one. But it's smaller than Topsy and N. Carson. The prices are higher than the Carson stores. Lines are always long and some of the cashiers are pretty rude. Most of the employees look like they are really miserable working here...I recommend Raley's or Smith's. read more

Re-stock your products!!!! I wear this specific foundation that I really like, last time I bought it there was around Halloween. Every time I go to check if they have it its completely out! It's mid April and they never re-stocked it. Hmmm what's that been...6 months!? I haven't just experienced this with just foundation but with MANY other products. It's not that hard to see that your out of something and order it, It doesn't need to take half a year. read more

Called the tire department to be sure the tires I needed were in stock. They were. I mentioned a Walmart online sale for the same tires and was assured that they would match the price. So, off we go to Walmart. When we got there they could not find the tires I had called about but they had a similar tire for $5 less per tire so I said "Fine. Let's get those." Dave and Ammon (I hope I got the name right) were quick and professional. My car had 4 new tires in just about 1 hour for almost $400 less than the tire stores here in Tahoe. As to the rest of the store...Walmart is Walmart, no matter where you go. This new store is clean and well lit. The employees are very nice. My huge complaint at most big box stores is the restrooms. This Walmart has always had very clean restrooms. My only complaint is that there are never enough checkers at the checkstands at the peak hours. read more

If you like empty shelves, uncaring employees and rotting bologna, THIS is the store for you! Tonight was our very last time to set foot in this store, which we have been shopping at several times a week since it opened. I even had my prescriptions filled here, as the pharmacy staff has been endlessly helpful. This store is close to my home and I was happy to see it open. But last month they told me that two of the four the medications I fill every month were no longer part of any discount program and the price would DOUBLE--WalMart's decision, NOT the discount programs. OK, so I'll just fill my 4 monthly prescriptions elsewhere, bye-bye... But for months now...MONTHS as in about SIX...the grocery store shelves have been empty. Empty as in 'the zombie apocalypse is HERE and there's been a run on supplies' empty. Huge gaping shelves devoid of product. NOT what a store normally strives for. Checked with the cashier, no zombie apocalypse...hmmm. After the latest debacle in which they had NO lemons--not a single one in the store--I asked the cashier loudly if the store was going under. Hey, heads popped up! No, they said. I explained the ongoing lack of stock on their shelves and said I was going back to Raley's, where one can safely bet on finding a LEMON for crying out loud--this is not an exotic item. The cashier at the next aisle sneered and told me I'd pay more for it. Yes, I said, but I'd have the freakin' lemon I need for dinner tonight! The lack of concern was amazing. I was told weeks ago that the manager had been let go and they had moved the deli manager out to the grocery to solve the problem, also that corporate wasn't shipping what they were supposed to. OK, we'll give the store another chance... Tonight was the last straw. People stocking shelves, the stockers were trying. Huge gaps on the shelves--like about 60% empty space. In some cases Great Value items stocked fine--major brands were not and I'm not gambling money on dismal store brands when it comes to expensive things like spices. Shelf gaps all through the store, not just in grocery. The capper tonight was the FOUR PACKAGES OF ROTTING BOLOGNA I took up to the cashier. Rotting as is weeping slime and GREEN, which takes a while, gang. The packages were crushed and involved several brands. I gave it to a 'manager', she said she wasn't the manager but was the best the store could do at the moment. Explained to her the ongoing lousy selection, empty shelves and that we would not be back. Warned her that rotting bologna was going to KILL someone. From now on we'll drive to Carson and shop there and will use Raley's for local things we need immediately. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but this one was well worth it. I normally have to brace myself to go to Walmart because normally the customer service is bad and it's just a whole mess. I'm not from out here, I was on a trip to Tahoe and needed some pool floats so we drove an extra hour to do so. This store sucks!!! Again today I did not get all my bags, the clerk did not rotate the last bag around. This happens a lot at this store. This problem goes back to management and training.There are other problems in this store like not stocking the shelves. A lot of self check isles, but short on checkers. I WILL SELF CHECK WHEN WALMART GIVES ME A DISCOUNT. There are two Walmarts in Carson City, these are better managed stores. Went to my local Walmart and purchased a wireless keyboard mouse combo took it home and it did not work this was on July 9th. Went to the same location in Gardnerville Nevada to return said item and was informed that the serial number on the keyboard and the box did not match. Much to my surprise I was unaware that this existed. After a walk to the electronic department dealing with a very rude department manager named Robert who we were just bothering him to no end. We then went and spoke with the assistant manager who than told me its company policy not to return items that do not match. I realize I shouldn't have purchased something that was already opened but it was the last one on the shelf and I had no idea that these items had serial numbers. I will not be going to my local Walmart anymore to purchase anything but my prescriptions until I have those moved to a different pharmacy! read more

I recently visited three walmart in reno and carson city. I'm very disappointed, that I will never buy clothes from these stores in the future. Ever again. Walmart will no longer let customers use dressing rooms to try on clothes. At each walmart that I went to. They no longer have enough employees to open up dressing rooms. The manager told me if something doesn't fit I could return my purchases. But they no longer have enough staff to man the dressing rooms. This is unacceptable, inconvenient and completely stupid. If walmart can't fix this problem. They shouldn't sell clothes and they deserve to lose money. I hope they go bankrupt. I know I will never buy anything from this company again. read more

I ordered a hover board payed and everything it never showed I am pissed and want my money back

after eagerly awaiting the opening of the gardnerville store, i was terribly disappointed. this store is more of dog kennel then a variety store. there are huge size dogs (not service ones) on every aisle. i was quite disgusted to see a dog's head in the ice cream freezer while the owner sorted through the flavors. there must be some health law for this. i was scared out of my wits on my last visit. i went to get a bottle of shampoo from a high shelf & turned to find this great big dog inches away. even though it was leashed, i don't feel they belong all over the store. some of them bark loudly and no one makes any effort to silence them. the carson city store has door signs " no dogs, service animals only". i can't understand why it is permitted at this location. from now on i'll drive to carson city to avoid these miserable conditions. read more

It looks like a fairly new walmart. Helpful staff. Exactly what I expected.

First let me say that I love the Walmart prices, so even though the big box store ends up hurting smaller businesses, in this rough economy, everyone has to be frugal, and Walmart offers those low prices that we all need. I have shopped at literally dozens of Walmarts over the years, and hands down, this is the most inefficient and lousy store I have been at. If I go there for only 5 things, they will be out of one of them. Never have I ever been able to complete my shopping list. But worst of all, they continuously have expired items on their shelf, especially meat. I am not joking when I say this...every single month that they have been open I find expired junk on their shelves. Milk, chocolate milk, sausage (all the time), deli meat, breakfast bars, you name it. I have brought it to managements attention, as well as Corporate's. Still, the problem exists. In fact, just last week, I found several boxes of expired Special K bars. Personally, I know several people who just don't shop here any longer because the store stinks. So, if you buy food here, check everything. read more

I don't know how to rate this store. Today I went to pick up a few things, laundry detergent and some chicken . I went through the self check and it would not except my money . The attendant gave my money to a manager to be checked for counterfeit currency. She told me the machine is made not to except counterfeit money that I needed to go back to my bank....which I did. The teller said there was nothing wrong with my money...So I shopped at Smiths down the street. When I tired to call and talk to the Manager Erik Schumann he was too busy to take my call. I wanted to tell him my money was fine. He should calibrate the machines to a higher level and train his employees to a higher level also. Cleanest Walmart I have ever been to! A smaller store there stock is a little more limited but the customer service is great. The store employees actually take you to find your item. The people that keep this store so organized seem to have a great team and customer oriented attitude. I would recommend this store to anyone. read more

This store continues to be out of common everyday goods and often times is restocked with items that do not make walmart the low price leader....In fact the meat costs are so inflated that I won't buy it from them...The workers there though are very nice and try and do their jobs and are helpful and friendly however the management and 1 person who in the customer service area of the store ironically was not...I want this to be clear that not all walmart's are exactly the same but none I have been to are so radically different than this one which can only be from management decisions and if I didn't shop for certain things after hours they would rarely see me in this store...Unfortunately for me living in a semi rural area that I don't have the luxury as i did when I lived in a populous area to go to another store always....I did receive a call after emailing the corporate office that was from a shift manager but i was out of town for almost a month and was in an area where I could only get phone service in a limited way so when i returned the call I was unable to talk with him...The effort that they made was minimal and I think only called the one time so you can see they are not too concerned with my business...It is sad to see the loss of genuine businesses who focused on customer service like this walmart demonstrated to me however I think if they did some managerial changes and brought in someone who has run a successful store in a rural area they might correct things but if on paper this store looks good then it could look a whole lot better....Its the only walmart I have ever seen where the parking lot on the busiest days is less than half full! read more

I regularly shop here, and find that products are often out of stock. It's hard to find an employee that can help you look for something, and none ever seem to know if a product will be restocked, when etc...and I really wish employees knew how to bag groceries! I do appreciate the low prices. read more

The auto service center here is a joke, went in and talked to Dave the service manager, asked for an oil change, chose the 29.99 deal, was told they top off all fluids, vacuumed my car, and everything checked under the car, etc.....and a tire rotation. He said done in an hour. Shopped in the store and came back in 55 min. gal said they were finishing up the tire rotation, I asked about the oil change....she said the only thing written up was tire rotation. So, she wrote up the oil change and I sit and wait more......then after another at least half an hour...done. Took it home....so, I figure I better check everything because I noticed they never vacuumed the car. Checked under the hood after the car sat for hours and the oil level was half a qt. low and nothing was topped off of the fluids. Took it back and they didn't do a thing for me......never again with any of my vehicles.....Dave is the worst.....Tires Plus for now on. read more

The pharmacy at the Walmart Gardnerville is deplorable. Every time I go in there I see a line of eight or 10 people with maybe one person at the register. Last night I had a prescription to be filled and I happened to be there so I went to the drop off window. Nobody in line at the drop off window -4 staff people in sight. . Nobody so much as looked up for five minutes. Meantime, there were 10 people in line plus 3 more sitting on benches, looking like death warmed over. There was not ONE person at any of the 4 cash registers. Of course I did not drop off my prescription as I felt some of these poor folks needed theirs more than I did. It pains me deeply to see this despicable lack of service, especially to seniors and veterans who need their medicine. 30 minutes later when I left the store, the same, repeat the SAME people were still standing in line. And waiting on bench! Mind-boggling and atrocious. I've not found a good pharmacy in all of Gardnerville/Minden Nevada, but Walmart takes the cake for not staffing their's, and allowing these elderly people to wait for 30 minutes to an hour in line. And who knows how long to drop off because there was still nobody at the drop off when I left. Really pathetic and shameful. read more
