If you want ZERO customer service and have to dodge product all over the floor then this Walmart is the perfect place to shop. We waited over half an hour for someone to come help us open a glass case to buy a pack of mens tee shirts after pressing the "call for help buttons" AND asking another employee for help and still no one showed up. When we asked another employee who was walking by all she said "it's not my department so it's not my problem." I will never shop at this Walmart ever again even if I got paid to. The trash alone all around the store was disgusting but the awful customer service from its employees made the store absolutely horrendous. read more

I had an appointment at 8 am for tires but was told they do not start appointments until 9(they open at 8). The person helping me was condescending and gave me the run around. I tried to buy my tires on line and have them put on there but the order was canceled by mistake but the tires were delivered there. After being talked to like a child I started to leave. The man said "wait I think I saw your tires." I get back to the counter where he then tells me even if he had them he couldn't sell them to me...WTF. BAD SERVICE BAD COMMUNICATION. So I came to Wal-Mart to do some shopping and look around. I had surgery on my foot and can't put weight on it. I can use crutches to get to the front door to get a scooter shopping cart, but not to shop. Well I get to the spot to pick up a cart and there was one that was either broken or the battery was dead. If its broke take it out back, if it's a dead battery then charge it. I asked somebody if they had anymore scooters available. They checked outside and at the other entry. I appreciate the effort to find a cart for me, but this has been a common issue. The last time we were here, there was a broken scooter and my daughter had to go search for another. We were not the only ones looking for handicap scooters. I'm not sure if there are laws about having enough handicap scooters available, but I'm going to check. So to no avail, no handicap scooters were found and I had to leave the store. It's 9:30 in the morning and the handicap stalls were fairly empty. So I don't know who was using all the carts. Who knows how many they actually have. I hope Wal-Mart opens up their pocket book and buys more handicap scooters because they obviously need them !!! read more

Always slow and rude staff. Takes them anywhere from 10-20 min to even go to the locked case to open it. Insane..

No one here ever answers the phone & there's always issues with my curbside pickup orders. Everyone's always confused as to where my orders are and it's impossible to get in contact with management. I placed a small pickup order last night as I needed it by this morning and the only notification I received was that my order was delayed, 4 hours pass by and still no other update despite the app showing all my items had already been shopped for. I had to dial their pharmacy to try speaking to someone and the super sweet pharmacist let me know that unfortunately no one in the actual store ever actually picks up and that I most likely have to visit the store in person to try figuring out what was going on with my order. Why add the option for curbside pickup if I'm gonna have to go into the store to try figuring out what's happening with my order? I'd rather spend the extra money and do my pickup orders from Target read more

I had the craziest shopping trip with my almost 3 year old son. As we were wrapping up our extremely exhausting 3 hour shopping excursion consisting of numerous tantrums and outbursts I asked our cashier "Matthew" for prices on a few items my son refused to part with or at least easily... One was $35.00 for a Dino head piece he was chomping at the bit to open. It wasn't in my budget. However, our super generous sweet cashier offered to purchase it himself so my son wouldn't be bummed out and he did just that.. So, i went to buy some groceries and as I'm putting items in shopping cart, it occurred to me that I should take a picture of the paper plates $1.99 price( there never that price). The water was $3.98 kool got 2 cases. Eggs, $3.98 for 18 eggs box. And other items . I had a feeling that when I scan the items it was going to be a different price and I was right . Just as I thought, different prices for almost every item. So, i had to keep calling for help to change prices. This is extremely frustrating, and i cannot believe that these types of mistakes are done. One item, maybe. from time to time. Not every time something has a big sign and shows lower than usual price!!!! This is purposely taking advantage of customers! !! Why? Dont they make enough money already? Holy Guacamole! Is this place HUGE or what?!?! Now, not only is this place your average Wal-Mart. . . It has a full grocery store inside also! It includes (among other things), a full service bakery, full service butcher, produce, pharmacy, nail salon, hair salon, hearing center, garden, McDonald's and more! You could spend HOURS in here there is so much to see. As always, they just about always have the best prices around. Parking can suck during the weekends. I never shop at walmart. I never go to walmart. You will never hear me say "I'm going to walmart"... But when you're bored, drinking coffee at 3am you get desperate for things to do.. I needed a laundry hamper. For some reason I decided that the best time to get this laundry hamper was at 3 in the morning. San jose has NOTHING that is opened 24 hours so my boyfriend and I decided to venture out to the 24 hour walmart super-center in gilroy. why not right? This is the second walmart I've been to in my whole life. It was huge. Like four times the size of the previous walmart I visited. They had a grocery store, macdonalds, tire place, nail salon, hair salon, eye doctor etc IN the walmart. I probably won't go back but I was pretty impressed with the super walmart. This is the cleanest Walmart I've ever been to. It's not a bad shopping experience even pleasant....until you want to leave. They never have enough cashiers. You can wait in line for 30+min. But without fail they have someone at the door to check your receipt. Really? I didn't just wait in line forever to wait again so you can stare at my receipt. I once had four items, FOUR and the guy stared at my receipt forever. Look you aren't Costco, I don't pay a membership, unless you suspect me of stealing (which means you'd suspect everyone) don't waste my time. This is ridiculous Walmart. I ordered some parts online and the sales associate tells me the wrong place to go because he can't take 30 seconds to check the computer, so I end up waiting an extra 30 mins at the walmart.com services center, which had no staff. On Sunday Oct 28, Mary, the cashier in Line 11 was being selective of who she would call out of Line 10. We waited at least 20 minutes in Line 10 (not a big deal considering the number of items in each customer's basket), but we were all in Line 10 because Line 11 light was off, and Mary told the guy (two spaces ahead of us) that her line was closed. After helping who had appeared to be her last customer, she called the lady in front of us to move to her line. She then told other customers attempting to enter her line that she was closed. Then she went on to accept certain customers who approached her line, and turned others away. It continued the entire time we were in line 10. One guy realized what was going on and refused to get in her line when she decided to call him over. We didn't blame him at all. Fortunately, Target isn't far this location. read more

I have never seen a worse Wal Mart than this when it comes to customer service. There are 28 registers but hardly any is open when you go there. At best there will be two open and there would be Looooooong lines. Today it took me 45 minutes just standing there in line. I even called the manager from the line requesting to open more registers... It is horrible. Go there only if you have plenty of time at hand. There are self checkouts and they are even worse. I had hit a nail in the parking lot of Costco and developed a slow leak. I don't have Costco tires so it was suggested that I go to Walmart to see if they could fix it. I drove over a bit frantic as it was just after 6:30p and I had two toddlers in the back seat quickly headed for melt down city. I drove up and was so thankful to see that the gates were still up and there was a sign stating that they closed at 7pm. The service tech walked up to me and I explained what had happened and he informed me that they couldn't help me because they were closed. I pointed out that the sign said that they closed at 7pm and that it was not 7pm yet. He told me that they had to clean- WHAT?! I pressed the issue and he then turned and asked the other tech in the shop if he could do a tire repair and that technician yelled back "No I gotta go home" The tech in front of me did not say another word to me and rolled the gate down right in my face. Needless to say I was angry and shocked that they seriously had refused my business but I had to get my tire fixed and my kids home. I drove back to Costco and Jose at the Tire department there said that although they couldn't fix my non- Costco tire that they would happily put my spare on for me. Not only did they offer that, they ended up feeling pretty sorry for me and actually repaired the tire- free of charge! (totally separate review!) After a day or two I called Walmart and asked for a supervisor to lodge a complaint about the horrible treatment I received. I spoke with Alberto, who was somewhat apologetic but was defensive and stated there was another car before me already filling the time- there was no other car anywhere in sight. But he did transfer me to the general manager- somehow during this transfer some other auto manager named Randy picked up the phone and was rude and condescending -JERK! The store assistant manager Krystal, thankfully interrupted the conversation with Randy and took my complaint, apologized profusely and did all of the proper steps to diffusing and smoothing over a bad situation. She assured me she would handle Randy- which I really hope she did! And also assured me she would review the video footage of them turning me away and rolling the gate down in my face as well as check schedules and find out who these lovely techs were and hold all accountable. May be just lip service, but I got the feeling this isn't the first time she's had these kind of complaints so I hope something comes of this... Never going to this Walmart again- even just for a pack of gum!! read more

Worst customer service ever. They lock up a lot of the pharmacy items. And nobody has a key to help you. Went there today waited 30 minutes to get someone with a key, for a $2.00 item. Ridiculous, asked at the cosmetics counter, pharmacy counter, 2 times at customer service counter, about 8 workers filling online orders that were walking by, tried the boxes you push a button for help, nobody had a key or would help, some of them made announcements about help needed but no one came. Finally went to ask for a manager at customer service, which another customer was already talking to him because by now there was about 10 people that needed things unlocked, and he just said someone was coming. He did not apologize or seem to care. Then when the guy gets there, there was a dozen angry people he had to deal with. IF YOU ARE GOING TO LOCK UP STUFF YOU WANT TO SELL THEN HAVE A KEY NEAR LOCKING CABINETS AT ALL TIMES AND MAYBE 1 or 2 EXTRA KEYS. Seems like there was only 1 key, stupid! And maybe 1 of the 20 workers filling online orders could be in that department with a key. There are so many workers filling online orders and no one to help the people in the store. And those carts they use are huge and always in the way in the aisles, too many & too big. Also the shelves are bare, but the top shelf has a lot of stock that you can't reach. I've never been in such a HUGE Walmart before. It's like Costco + Safeway + Michael's + Sports Authority all rolled into one. There's this yarn brand called Peaches and Creme that was manufactured in a small mill in North Carolina that I haven't been able to find anywhere in California. I was super surprised when I saw it sold here. Cones were $7.99. I intended to stop by on the way back from southern CA to buy some, but we didn't get around to it. I hope they still have it next time. I can't believe how cheap things are here. Reese's peanut butter chips were something like $3.89 at my Safeway, and I just bought a bag on sale for $2.50. I love going to this Wal-Mart because it's open 24 hours and it's huge. You can practically find anything and everything you need. From groceries to electronics. I'm a late night shopper so that's a plus for me. I would not recommend shopping around 9ish to 10ish because they close every register but 2 or 3 of them. The lines get super long so expect to wait about 30 minutes. This Wal-Mart also has a nail salon (which I've tried out), car insurance co. and a McDonald's inside. I arrived at the Walmart tire center at 11 due to a screw in my tire. It's 12:47 and I'm still waiting. There were 3 cars ahead of me. I've spent most of the time in the garage area because I'm not feeling well and anxious to be home. There are at least 5 men working in department. They are very unprofessional, unorganized, and unmotivated to provide good customer service. I don't blame them I blame Walmart management for not providing better training. read more

I am not a regular shopper at Walmart and had not been in a Walmart store for a number of years now until this passed weekend. I needed an item and this place was the most obvious place to buy it from and so we went. I was very surprised at the quality of the Walmart Store in Gilroy. It was super large, super clean and organized, and the employees were nice. This is quite a difference from San Jose and Milpitas Walmart stores. I was surprised that it was also a grocery store too. Since I had planned on going to the market for a few items anyway I decided to see what they offered and found myself impressed with the selection of items. They have a really good baking aisle (they even had powdered goat milk and I never would have thought to find that in Walmart of all places!!!) and they carry lots of things Safeway and Nob Hill do not. AND, unlike the Safeway on 1st Street the Walmart store is very well stocked. The prices on most of the items I was looking for were better than Safeway and Nob Hill as well. I will most likely shop here again even though it is a bit further than Safeway. I am also excited to see they have a sewing and fabric department. A lot of Wal-mart stores in places we have formerly resided in have done away with this section. Since I sew for my family this will come in handy and save me some money for sure. I look forward to checking it out next time I go shopping. The only downside to shopping here is that the store was pretty full of shoppers and I personally and I am not one to love crowds. I will try to come again at a time of day when less people are shopping. read more

WalMart in Gilroy apparently does not understand that marketing ends only after the customer has exited the check-out line. Went there this morning and selected a cart load of grocery items only to find ONE check-out lane open with at least 6 customers waiting in line. Self check-outs are foolish with produce items that need to be weighed etc. but I tried it anyway. This resulted in "Scan Error - Wait for Assistance". OMFAWWWKINGAWD. WHERE DO I START?? WHERE DO I START?? First off, this was suppose to be a short visit; at the most 30 minutes. I end up being there for over an hour; majority of it spent in line. And I get it. It's Walmart, no one comes here for the excellent customer service but DAMNNN. I was in line what was suppose to be the shortest line possible (but not really). By the time the girl had rung me up, they had some computer glitch and would not print out a receipt for me so the manager comes over and tells me she's going to have to print it somewhere else. So I'm thinking, "OK...well I have patience and I've worked in customer service before so I'm just gonna roll with the punches." Mind you, I bought a full length mirror and I had to carry that ALLL THE WAYYY over to customer service (where all the return/exchange occurs) and there, I spent majority of my time in hell. I waited and waited and the manager keeps telling me she's going to print it, they have issues, etc. I mean, I get it, shit happens but she could've been more 'apologetic' and even if you don't give a crap, can you at least pretend??!! My gawd. Anyway, another back and forth of that same shit of waiting for 30 minutes and then finally, she comes out and no receipt but gives me a $10 gift card and gives me the reference number to my purchase if I ever have to return something. At this point, I could care less if you gave me a gift card b/c it doesn't make me happy at all. It's a nice gesture but seriously, that wait was just fuckin' ridiculousss!! You can order Mcdonalds from checkout and go over and pick it up. They actually clean the bathrooms every hour. It's amazing. I like to save money because I don't make much. Wal Mart makes it happen. For a Wal-Mart, it's good. It's the typical huge store size as opposed to the one in Morgan Hill which is a relatively small store missing a lot or having much more limited stock of Things. The thing I like least is the seemingly continual long wait times and long lines to get through checkout. There are tons on employees, and in my experience, they are usually as helpful as they can be. The best thing is this store is now open 24 hours. Love coming here whether its at night or during the day.... the store is so big you could possibly find anything and everything you need.... i swear that i could just walk around in the store for hours and lose track of time.... me and the wife come here when it's time to do all of our grocery shopping.... we always find a great deal on the meat.... we get snacks and juices for the kids lunches.... i swear wen we come here we are always walking out of here with two full baskets.... and on top of that once we are done we don't need to go grocery shopping until close to the end of the week.... we will be coming here for our shopping needs forever.... read more

We ordered Xmas presents for our kids. We used the pay in advance / pickup at store option. The store is a 45 minute drive from our home. Once at the store, we were directed to an orange kiosk. Told to scan our email barcode there. However the kiosk screen was off. We tracked down some employees. They didn't know what to do. They called for other team members. They took our order # and went to the "back" , but never returned. We found another team member. She tried to power cycle the kiosk. When it didn't work, she said she had to take her lunch break and couldn't help us anymore. We left in frustration. The items we wanted were only available for instore pickup. Therefore shipping was not an option! We reached out to customer service, hoping they would ship our items due to the inconvenience of our experience. However, our frustrations were ignored. They just said head back to the store. NO THANK YOU! read more

I live in Bakersfield, but travel to the Bay Area several times a year for dance competitions. I always seem to remember, somewhere halfway through the Pacheco Pass, that the weather up here is much cooler than back in the Central Valley and that I forgot to pack the booze. This is not the first time (nor the second) that I've stopped at this particular Walmart to purchase a zip up sweatshirt and a bottle of flavored vodka, and I suspect is certainly won't be the last. This Walmart is open 24 hours a day so no matter what time I pull out of the pass (after 11:00 pm on this visit) they're always open. It must be some kind of a Super Walmart because there is a full out grocery on one side, not just a couple of aisles of munchies. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I was trying to get a bottle if soda down from the top shelf and a worker walked halfway down the aisle to offer me assistance. The cashier smiled and thanked me for my business and even made eye contact with me which was an unexpected bonus. I'm not a local, but I am definitely a repeat vistor here. It is clean and well stocked making for a pleasant experience. read more
