Walmart is Walmart. Consistent and low prices. They had everything we had forgotten for our little Solar Eclipse adventure.

She has a sweet style herself and always answers questions about the clothes and jewelry. I have a ton of questions because there is a huge selection. On the first Saturday of each month, they participate in a special event and have free bites and drinks in the back section of the shop, so I always make sure to stop in then. They also have a small vinyl collection and I found a sweet Cannonball Adderley record there. I'm a sucker for vintage jazz records and they have a nice smattering from American and Kansas City greats. If you are in the area, it's a must do.

That was definitely the vibe here. And hey, awfully neat stuff. I know the couple behind the place a little and they are quite the St. Joe entrepreneurs. It's pretty well impossible to respond to knowing Amy and Brian Meyers at all without resorting to just rooting all out for them to succeed at their mission of revitalizing downtown St. Joe. But you know how there are places you WANT to like and root for and all that but... yeah, they aren't places you would take someone from out of town, right? Well, I took my fiance from New Zealand to The Lucky Tiger and was so glad I did. Not just a great little local business, but lots and lots of stuff that looked very good to both of us. So I would recommend a browse- what have you got to loose except some guilt over contributing to Wal Mart?

An Urban Outfitters knockoff, Hobbs…read moresucceeds in finding a style meant for the hip college kids that are looking for sarcastic, ironically cool and tragically stylish stuff to fill their material thirst. Really, Hobbs has all their bases covered with witty books, useless cool must-haves like nose cups (when you drink it looks like you have a funny nose) or flasks hidden inside a diary book, and of course, clothes. The women's section featuring styles modeled after Paris Hilton and the guy's much more cool and metro. They even have a baby section, with onesie's from American Apparel and and Paul Frank. Quirky and cute, this place is fun to browse. If you have a younger sibling that's high school or college age, I'm sure there's something you can pick up for them. Otherwise, shop with an open mind and you'll crack yourself up trying not to laugh out loud.

No greeting, no hello, no "can I help you" as we shopped. My daughter found a sweatshirt, tried it on and went to pay. Clerk could not get the safety tag off. It took 10 minutes. No apology, thanks for your patience, etc. Once tag was removed she rang up the sale. Didn't give my daughter the total. My daughter paid and realized she was charged full price. Told the clerk the piece was on sale (which was clearly marked on the tag). No apology or recognition of a mistake. Great selection of clothing, however. If service would have been better I would have considered trying on more clothes. We will not return. Very disappointing.

Really enjoy the selection here, especially with their reasonable price range. ACCESSORIES: Colorful, sleek, and everything in between. Their selection isn't giant by any means, but you can easily find a good accessory to pair with an outfit. Only complaint is that I wish the earrings I bought came with a back piece! They're a bit prone to falling out of my earlobes without the piece. STAFF: Super helpful! Maddy is the best ever and has managed to help me find a new piece every time I've come in.

If you're looking for a place where shoes practically beg you to take them home, look no further…read morethan the Vans Outlet in Kansas City. I came in for a casual browse and left with shoes, socks, and a new sense of purpose in life (mainly in the form of checkerboard slip-ons). The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a sales associate who clearly knew their stuff. Not only did they recommend a killer pair of skater shoes, but they also complimented my "unique" sense of style (which might have been code for "Are you wearing a high school band t-shirt?"). Regardless, I felt like a rockstar. The selection? It's like stepping into a wonderland where every color and pattern imaginable is available, with more sneakers than my feet could ever handle. The sales were so good, I almost felt like I was committing a crime getting such a great deal. "Buy 1, get 1 half off?" Yes, please! My wallet was slightly sad, but my feet were dancing. The best part? The atmosphere. It's like being in a skateboarding movie with cool vibes and laid-back tunes. Every step I took, I could hear the faint sound of someone doing a sick ollie--okay, maybe not, but I felt it. If you're in Kansas City and in need of some fresh kicks (or even just a smile from the very friendly staff), Vans Outlet is the place to be. Prepare to leave with shoes, socks, and possibly even a deep appreciation for the art of skateboarding. Would 10/10 recommend!
