Typically, when I come to this Walmart, I never really have any major issues. There were a couple of occasions where I received an item that I ordered for delivery and the item was either defective or the product was open. That is a downfall of ordering delivery from this location, so I definitely don't recommend that. However, I typically do shop in person and for the most part, it is clean whenever I am shopping at this location. There are not many registers that are open that are not self check out. That's only a downfall when you have an abundance of items that you wish to purchase through a regular checkout station, I've never utilize there order ahead/pick up. which is also why I can't really comment much on the customer care. I haven't really interacted with many workers at this location. I do recall of having one positive interaction with an employee, but it was nothing that was outstanding! It's definitely not the worst Walmart location that I've been to and it's also not the best. It most definitely makes do whenever I need to visit! read more

bought a flashlight swiss tech from Walmart on 110225 AT 10:25 AM. I asked the employee at checkout if he needed to check the product before I left because it was 54.00$ he said no so I proceeded to check out left the store and found that someone had stolen the item from box and placed it back on the shelf ... when i went back and explained what happen i could tell the employees thought i was the one who took the item when i tried to explain myself even ask if they kept a record of returned items maybe someone didn't check when it was previously returned and placed it back on the shelf . i was told they do not put returned items back on the shelf and they do not keep a record of returned items but they had no problem to go look at cameras to see if i had stole the item. the final manager finally came back stated she was gonna give me the 94cents for the ice cream scoop because someone put a sticker on the box as well and they were gonna try and find something adequate for the flashlight ... if you can't give me the exact flashlight why would you not give me back my money you were giving me the 94c for the added sticker that was placed on the box ! i walked out paying 54.00$ for a empty box because walmart thought i was a thief ! however they keep no record so you can look up the item returned. Important items are always out of stock for some reason you drive up the road to the Walmart in Dallas and they have it in stock. Honestly, they should shut this Walmart down seeing how everyone in Hiram has to drive past it and go to the one in Dallas to fulfill their shopping needs. This store has never been great, but I had a demeaning, ridiculous encounter this evening that left me just wondering what breaks in people to create sadists, but I digress... I headed to get an Apple Pencil at 9:15 pm for an emergency work project I had to design from home. Online showed the Hiram store has them for $79. Sweet! It was too late tk place the order and pick it up, so I ran to the electronics dept. I immediately notice the shelf sticker says $129 even though online definitely is set for the right store and is sold by Walmart. Associate is rude and said "I've never heard of price matching. That's not a thing. I've been here five months, I think I should know, my manager would've told me." I said "okay cool, would you mind if I ask her myself? I have the policy right here." Long story longer, second manager is clueless but sweet, unaware that Walmart does, indeed, price match as it states on the corporate site, and calls a third manager to override the price. Enter Ivan. Sweet second manager says "did you know we had a corporate price match policy?" Ivan has not looked at me, said hello... he has walked around the counter, leaned against it, back to me, as he answers "yes. As long as the online item is in stock, sold by Walmart, and not part of a promotion. It must also be the exact model." I am beaming at this point, excited to get going so I can get to work. Ivan starts scanning products, checking product models, etc, confirming that everything complies by store policy. He then turns and looks at me for the first time and says "but ultimately it's up to the store... and if I don't want to do it, I don't have to do it." I honestly thought he was joking at first. I said "wait. You're serious?!" He says "there's an algorithm to it all to get you online..." and tries to explain how website traffic works in some noble, ridiculous attempt at a reason for refusing to follow the stores own policy, following up again with "it's the store's call. My call. It's gonna be a no." I said very gently, trying to explain the absurdity of what was happening, "I'm just gonna place the order online and be right back here at 7 am to pick it up. So what does purpose does this serve? That's just kinda mean for the sake of being mean" I could already tell that he was enjoying the ego boost or power trip, pettiness, whatever it was, even turning to the young, male associate for backup like "we don't *have* to do it, technically. It's my call. Right xx?" The kicker? My tear ducts are hard wired into the anger-inducing part of my brain, so as this very large man is enjoying being petty to my 4'7" self, I was overwhelmed with a rush, a wave of feeling demeaned, disrespected, and basically like the kid on the playground when the fat kid came over and stole your candy haha. Sooo I cried. I'm mad that I cried, but I couldn't help it. And as I cried and walked to the registers to pay for the handful of things I had, I heard Princess Ivan, badmouthing me all the way to the front of the store, then across the front. Like I ruined his day by very nicely asking for an item priced via their own store policy. End thoughts- I spend a SHIT TON of money at Walmart and Sams between home and work, but I will 100% be switching our office supplies to Costco and Amazon. I've never liked this store or Walmart in general, but this one exchange felt oddly personal in a way that I can't explain. Like this guy hated me and I'd never met him. Do not make any online Pickup orders at this location unless you want to take a 2 hour nap in your car. Please, make online orders at any other grocery / retail store in a 50 mile radius. Even other walmarts, they're fine. This place is cursed. I've been sitting on my @$$ for over an hour waiting for $50 of basic groceries. I could have gone in person and bought all of my groceries, eaten everything I ordered in my car, then go buy them all again so my girlfriend won't question the missing groceries. I finally asked for 800 number so I can stop burning my gas in this this store can be good for somethings but not for everything. Update. At night careful to know which side locks up early. Walmart is better than it used to be. You used to have to wait in long lines even with one item. I don't think people understand how horrible that used to be. Now you simply scan it yourself and there are plenty of checkouts. I give them a lot of credit for making things better. They still have pretty middle of the road to low end products. The jewelry department is likely to be the absolute worst service I've ever experienced in retail. You can page over and over and no one comes. You can ask another employee for help and you will literally be ignored. I've been a lot of places and never experienced customer service anything quite like this. All Walmarts are basically the same, but there are several different layouts. Not all Walmarts look alike. In my opinion, the layout of this Walmart is discombobulated, (if that is a word) and therefore, somewhat unappealing. What I do like about this Walmart is their bakery section. When it is time for me to buy cupcakes for my children's classes, I always find a great variety to choose from at this location. Other than that, if I can help it, I will find another Walmart that is not so backwards. read more

On 02/18/22 4:00pm it's was a recall on similac powder formula. The customer service is fully responsive to help me exchange for a different formula for my baby and told me that it wasn't a recall so I couldn't exchange it. But Kroger let me with the ones o brought from Kroger. Customer service needs better service. I will not be shopping at Walmart again also target took the recall formula back to exchange it. I love any store but Walmart or just the Walmart in hirma ga for not taking back my four cans of recall formula that's killing babies. I live right by this Walmart, so it's unfortunate I want to use the Dallas location. We ordered online pickup as my entire family is sick. Received an email stating it was ready at 5:45 for a 6-7 pickup. My husband went and had to wait an hour and and half for a $55 list! He told several associates he was checked in. They NEVER brought out his food. He had to go up to the desk and tell the kid he had been waiting and would do it himself! Ridiculous! read more

HORRIBLE!!! One employee working in the pick up area who disappears for 20 min at a time. They don't have what you ordered and paid for to pick up so they set aside what they think you might like. If I wanted the other item I would have ordered it. Now I can decline the item they think I might like but then I have to wait 7-10 business days for the money to show back up on my card. The employee who said aside what she thought I wanted neglected to make any attempt in contacting me to state the ordered item wasn't in stock. Suck a fat one Wal-Mart!!! I have been to this Walmart a few times and not quite sure what is going on there. The Shelves are never stocked. I went back for the same item (popcorn salt) twice, giving them a week to restock it and it never was. Maybe there is a club of popcorn lovers that have to have that certain popcorn salt and that's why they never have it in stock, or maybe no one has ordered anymore. I thought Walmart had the fancy systems that alerted the distributor once items are getting low? I'm not sure this system is working at this location. No one has greeted me walking in..ever and I had to search the isles to find someone to help me. Im hoping they are just working through some things and that things will get better. I hope it is not wishful thinking. In the mean time, i will just go to Target or Kroger! read more

How rude!!! I was looking at the many fine jewelry all lights on in the case displays, as normal for sale. I asked customer service Brittany if by chance someone was available to assist. She practically chewed me out and said Rey loud and seemed angry "WE ARE INDEFINITELY CLOSED!!". I was more embarrassed more for her than my wife whom was startled. Walmart does not have to be nice, but do not harass your customers. It's understandable with the Covid 19 pandemic, to have critical safety precautionary measures in place, but then if it's closed then by God put a sign or act on it if in fact it's closed. Versus having your customers on a pretense then to chew them out. Walmart is still my favorite store and I will not let the lady in customer service by the name Brittany ruin it for me, my family and friends. read more

I am currently trying the pickup option at Walmart (Hiram). I have been waiting since 6:32pm. At 6:48pm, I stopped an employee to let her know how long I have been waiting. She responded by telling me, "we have had ppl waiting since 4pm." My response was, "that is not soothing (should have said comforting) to know." The employee abruptly walked off from my vehicle. I have consistently had employees walk up to my vehicle asking me my name & stating my order should be out soon. In the meantime, other vehicles have come up after I did and left w/ their orders before me. I requested to speak to a manager only to be told there were no managers available b/c there was none at the store working. I was able to speak w/ a coach to express my concerns. I received my order at 8:00pm. This system is not efficient & the customer service is not the best. read more

Wal-Mart in Hiram GA stated to me yesterday that they will no longer price match items that are found online and I should go check another Wal-Mart. I find this funny as the policy online at Walmart.com clearly states they will price match and it gives a list of approved places. I was told by the customer service manager that he attended a meeting and was told they were no longer going to honor price matching. I went to Wal-Mart to price match an Aleve Tens unit that was being sold on Amazon from Aleve for $32.97 and Wal-Mart had it for $49.99. I was shocked and upset because I even showed him Wal-Mart's website that confirmed that he should price-match. He even agreed with me and said he wished that he could honor what was stated but he did offer an apology. I just left my other items that I was going to purchase and walked out. I then made my way to Target where they did honor the price and I picked up more grocery items. I see Wal-Mart as the soon to be Sears if they do not get their policies and company in order. To not honor what is stated in clear print is the first sign of going down hill. This is why Amazon is going to take over the industry because of the great customer service and standing by policies. Wal-Mart is willing to lose a customer that spends a lot of money on items for $17.00. read more

Walmart should provide a customer service class to their employees at this location. I had a situation that required me to interact with their employees (6 different employees to be exact, in or around the photo lab to be even more exact) over the past week. Needless to say 5 out of 6 of those employees were rude, impolite, dis genuine, not helpful, impatient (they act as though I was in the wrong for asking them questions about the department THEY work in, the photo lab) and to add insult to injury, they were no more help to me at the end as they were when I started over a week ago. Yesterday when I went back in, there was a woman named Dorothy that did it for me. She was the "Straw that broke the camel's back"--for lack of better terms. She was all of the characteristics I previously named ALL by herself and then some!!! I am not attacking her personally BUT I am speaking out against characteristics she should NOT have working in a public, retail store. She was ZERO help. I was over at the machine struggling for more than 10mins before I called her over to try and assist me. She took a deep breath in and said in a rude tone "I'll be reading the screen just like you, what do you need to know"? I don't know anymore than you. (In my head, I'm thinking)..Umm, excuse me for bothering you but I saw you had on a Walmart badge, the color clothing attire Walmart employees wear when working, I just saw you check someone out at the photo lab register, no one else was around the photo lab, so I thought you were the person covering this area. All that to say, at least she told one 1/2 of a truth by saying she would be reading the screen just like me. The only part she needs to add is after she read the screen, she will know NO more then, than she did BEFORE reading it. The absolute worse customer service I've experienced from anywhere in a very long time. Let's just say, I took my photo disc, my copyright form and my $300 to Target to get what I needed done. I gave Walmart more than a week to get it right. What Walmart couldn't do in a week, Target was able to get done in less than an hour ALL while providing exceptional customer service. read more

Just like my Kroger review, this is my favorite Wal Mart because it is near my home and I know where everything is. It is clean and has plenty of parking. The plaza it is located in has a Rainbow, Subway, Asian Express, McDonalds and Chik fil A. The staff is very friendly and willing to help without you even asking. I left behind a bag of items that I purchased and didn't realize it until I got home. I immediately called Hiram Walmart and after 4 minutes someone answered and asked what I called for. They asked me to holds while they checked on my bag. After 10 minutes on hold I got in the car, drove from Dallas to East Paulding High School, picked up my son after waiting for him for 10 minutes, then drove to Hiram, got my bag from the kind lady at the self check out. Then I stood in line at customer service listening to my phone ring in unison with the customer service phone for an additional 10 minutes. I finally got to speak to an assistant manager after waiting 48 minutes at which time I was told was they were sorry. Yep, that makes it so much better...not! read more

It irks me that I even had to give this store 1 star. It is so poorly managed and the customer service is by far and away the very worst that I have experienced. Walmart gives their store managers ENTIRELY too much power. They claim to be a price match leader but twice now the store manager, Jowanna, has refused to honor matches for me, even though every policy stipulation was followed and the purchase was totally legit, as even confirmed by Brittany with Walmart Corporate customer service for this latest incident; Jowanna and Ryan (another salaried employee) spoke to me disparagingly and with utter disrespect. They claim they could not match a price because it was a "promotion" and the item was priced that low to get people into their store. This is the most absurd thing I've ever heard. All advertising is promotional in nature and intended to draw in customers. Walmart's customer service is ranked the lowest retailer in the nation; Walmart claims to be the price match leader, however it seems more like they're the leader in price match failing. Walmart's ratings will continue to decline until employees are better trained, discriminatory policies are changed and they get store managers in who have a decent grasp on how promotions and increasing customer base works. I encourage everyone to video and audio record their interactions with employees and submit all evidence to corporate as well as all over social media. read more

I love this store early in the morning but after dark it gets a little creepy but that's due to the customers. I have been a long time customer only because it's the closest one to my house. Some of the cashiers are just terrible! The one guy customer service manager shouldn't be aloud on a register. You just don't put can food on top of eggs and you don't put bread in a bag with bottles of stuff like ketchup and mayo. What kind of customer service manager does that? And the lady going around following people is creepy. Makes you feel like a thief even when you're just shopping. I was taking my son's Christmas layaway box out to the car so I could have room in the cart to continue shopping and there She was outside watching me. But there are some good employees... Lynn (well they changed her name tag to her first name, Mary) she's a cashier and she's just awesome and just loves my son, Beverly (cashier) she's the sweetest, I don't know their names but 2 women in the deli department. As soon as they see my son coming they know he's going to want some popcorn chicken and they're getting it ready. They love hearing his knock knock jokes. Then there's Amy in toys. She's so sweet and always drops everything to give you the best customer service! Bo, the cart pusher is awesome. He's always there to help when my mom isn't able to find a riding cart. But other than those few good seeds the place is just ok. read more

On any given day, even during busy hours, there will be 2 or 3 registers opened (out of more than 20), and long lines at the self-checkout. A couple of weeks ago, we stood at one of the self-checkouts for 3 or 4 minutes waiting for cashier assistance while the woman stood and chatted with some friends who were in line. The checkout machines themselves are terrible - constantly saying that you have an "unexpected item in the bagging area". It happens so often that the staff just clear it without even looking. I'd be amazed if shoplifters haven't noticed that gaping hole in their security. read more

Since I last reviewed this Walmart 2 years ago, I have to admit I have seen some improvement. They have improved their customer service and their stocking issues - although stocking issues still seem to be an issue. There is always a gentleman at the front door to hand me a buggy which is a clear indication of "effort". Also I can see where improvements have been made but they have a long way to go. read more
