1 hour in counting for grocery order pick up. Calling the grocery pick up number does absolutely NOTHING. They seriously need some help. I understand there are labor shortages but this is ridiculous. They should stop the grocery pick up service until they have sufficient staffing. I see one person going back and forth to different cars and he looks exhausted. I would not recommend this store location at all. Too freaking slow. If you are so enraged at corporate America taking over from the family businesses, and you took out that rage by putting your fist through the partition between your room and the adjoining room, then how do you fix that big hole in the wall? Um, it's obvious. You go to Wall-mart. Not to be confused with Whalemart, which is where you shop for very fattening foods. Although people do that here too if we're being honest. So this is the Walmart that is located on Kirkwood in the Far West suburbs of Houston, and I have to admit that it's not my favourite. It's huge and endless and service is generally pretty average, but sometimes can be good depending on what you get. So it's a mixed bag. They had exactly what I needed though in the way of an exercise bike which a lot of other locations didn't have. So that was definitely a good thing. Overall I would say they're one of the better locations that I have been to in the Houston area for sure. read more

I came to pick up curb side order. It took over 30min for someone to kind off approach me and didnt even pay attention to what i said and walked away quicker than speedy gonzalez, so I stand outside my car to see if i can catch someone attending and a girl wants to come out to tell me to wait in car but doesnt ask if i need anything. In that case i could of just gone inside and purchased my self. Please get them trained to atleast pick up phone because it sends you straight to voicemail.. super unprofessional. I consider this Walmart Supercenter is much better place to shop compared with the one near my house in Chinatown. Store attendants are much friendlier and store displays are organized. With exception of holiday merchandise, they're all over the places. I was mistaken as a store clerk because I wore my blue polo shirt in the gardening department where Christmas trees were. A lady asked me where to find boxed Christmas cards. Oops. Yeah, whatever. If I knew where ornaments were, I could have guessed. I was here for craft paints to touch up our handmade wall decors. At that tiny craft department, everything was nicely stocked. I found a clerk stocking the shelves while assist customers. Very pleasant scene. Upon check out, I was a little disappointed with my highly regarded experience. I was using a gift card from a while ago. Speaking of Walmart gift cards, they don't expire. But, the technology changed. It didn't have a magnetic strip. So, the cashier called a manager for help. Not sure why she wasn't responding but continued stocking shelves. I tried to crack jokes with the cashier while she was embarrassed. No problem, it's holiday time and I think they work super hard to deal with people. I'd say about 10 minutes later and after 2 other customers got turned away, this so-called manager finally walked away from her station. I saw her shirt with a banner said "holiday helper" but wearing it upside down. Really. I wanted to bust out laughing. Instead. I kept my cool and moved on. read more

Customer service at this location is absolute TRASH. I went in to return an item, I'm very smart about my transactions, I like to scan my receipts and keep them in my Walmart app so I always know my purchases and track them. I began a return through the app which I've done a few times in the past at other locations with NO issues, but something about the employees at this location is just sad. I walked in with my product and barcode for the return, and the woman at the desk could not process the return as if she'd never seen something like it in her life, keep in mind this is the CSM, the manager of the cashiers and customer service staff. I wait patiently for her to figure it out. But she keeps complaining that she doesn't know what to do. That she hates mobile returns. She then tells me to cancel the return through the app so she can do it. But I already know you can't just "cancel" a mobile return because #1 there's no option for it like she continually said there was and #2 they wouldn't have a mobile return option if they could not process it. She then pushed me off to someone else at the other side of the desk. They actually tried to scan and enter stuff. But couldn't figure it out and gave up. I tried to call the actual store number to get someone, anyone, a dept manager or the store manager to assist me. But the person who answered the phone put me on hold for 5 minutes so I hung up and called again to try and get someone. It continuously and rand. So I hung up and tried AGAIN, nothing but ringing for like 30 seconds. I go to Walmart mostly for three reasons: 1. White Cloud Ultra 3-ply toilet paper: OMG! Great toilet paper only sold at Walmart! 2. Oil changes 3. If I really, really, really, really have to. Anyway, this Walmart is really a hit or miss. I've been going to various Walmarts to get my oil changed. And I've been to this Walmart plenty of times. Sometimes they would do a good job. Sometimes they would do an okay job and make me wait forever even when there's only one other car in front of me. Sometimes, they would make me wait forever and then tell me that they can't change my oil. Wait, What?!?!?! Can't change my oil? What the...? Yeah, one time I came here and I waited almost a full hour for my oil change. I was just waiting inside, perusing whatever crap they had for sale. Reading magazines, playing video games, and what not, right? They called my name over the loudspeaker so I went on my happy way back to the lube and express area to get my car ONLY to be told that they hadn't changed my oil because they couldn't do it. The technician then promptly told me that she (Yes, SHE) was unable to drain the oil because apparently the plug was stripped. So she told me to go to the last Walmart where I had changed my oil and asked them to replace to plug. I thought, "crap! This sucks" but I went to the other Walmart (off of BW8 and Beechnut) only to have the technician came out WITH the plug and told me, "it's not stripped. She just doesn't know what she's doing." Anyway, that was one of my worst experiences at this Walmart. As for their organizations? Eh. Products are missing from the shelves. Prices on the shelves aren't matching with the products. Electronic models (laptops, video games, TV's) are in bad shape. Like I said, if it's not for toilet paper, or oil change, or if I really, really, really, really, really have to. I wouldn't come here. And to be honest, if the BW8 location was closer, I'd rather just go there for oil changes. read more

Took my tire in to be looked at and instead of trying to sell me a tire, the tech Carnelious actually noticed it was my valve instead. He was extremely helpful in making sure I understood what I was getting and that it wasn't my actual tire that needed to be replaced. I really appreciate that transparency from him as mechanics tend to just ignore female customers instead of helping them understand. read more

I honestly don't know where to begin with Walmart, because the cons, definitely outweigh the pros. I figured this review would be very different from my other ones, as I will focus only on the pros and cons of this establishment. CONS: Parking is always difficult to find. Lot is usually full. Check out lines are always long. Few registers open. Workers do not smile or initiate a convo. No self checkout lines. Narrow lanes and feeling of crowdedness. Can never find products easily. Workers usually do not know where items are located. You find yourself wandering from aisle to aisle looking for the actual item. Customer service line is always long and understaffed. Return lines are always long and only 2 people usually staff it. Not as economical as it use to be. Anti Union! Overworked employees, and underpaid. These are some of the major complaints I could think of. Believe me, there are tons of others but we're gonna try to keep it short. Now here are a few Pros I could think of. PROS: General availability of all items. Still economical than competitors A great place to polish on your spanish. When I used to go here, I would practice a lot here and I loved it. McDonalds?? So there ya go folks. Again, despite of my complaints, Walmart still attracts the most customers. People overall do not really care about service standards, as much as they care about buying cheaper priced items and most of them from the same retailer. I spent 2 hours shopping from 8:40pm until 10:45pm And after waiting for over 30 minutes in line when I got to the front I was rudely told we're not accepting cash payments. My first time ever using their delivery service and it was absolutely horrible. I requested for my groceries to be delivered between 3-4 and I got a notification saying it was delayed with no update on why or when it will be delivered. I tried calling the store but no one ever answers. Items were also apparently canceled with no refund til hours later. I went there to buy an unlocked phone. I knew what I wanted and the price range, and would have walked out of there in under 5 minutes, purchase made. But that wasn't to be. Walmart locks up all their electronics, so you can't even look at the box to confirm details before purchasing. This means you HAVE to wait for one of their employees, which is a problem because they are slow and not knowledgeable. One of the employees there was with the same couple for the entire time I was there (15-20 minutes). I then asked one of the other people there to confirm which ones of the phones were unlocked, since the sign didn't make it clear. She said none of them were and then pointed me to the guy who was still with the same couple. I waited for several minutes. I caught his eye several times, but he did nothing. Finally, as he walked by I asked him about an unlocked phone, and he said they had some for $79, and that if any of the other employees told me otherwise, to get with him. The way he said it made it seem like he was implying they were thieves or something. HIs manner was very shady. But then he went back to his call. So again I waited. And waited. And waited. The only remaining clerk was also with the same customer for the whole time. Finally, in disgust I left. I'm going try Target. I might also make it a point not to get my groceries from here either. Until Walmart starts training their employees to handle customers properly and triage, I don't see any reason to give them my money. And they lost a purchase today due to their ineptitude. read more

I was at Walmart for a replacement Car Battery that was under Warranty.  After I was notified that my car was ready, I went to the cashier. The cashier could not complete my transaction to close out my ticket without assistance from the Automotive Customer Service Manager. She called outside and asked Zach to assist her. Zach, the Auto CSM came inside from the shop. In front of me, Zach told the cashier that he was busy helping another customer that was outside waiting on him to assist her. (A new customer that had just pulled up) In spite of me standing there waiting to be closed out and 5 people standing in line behind me, he then told her to page the store CSM for assistance.   Zach then stepped outside to the Auto Shop and starts assisting other customers, directing new cars as they pull up, issuing new tickets for new customers, and looking under the hood of a new customer, all the while I'm standing inside waiting on assistance. Jerrica, a CSM comes to the register and is made aware of the situation. At the same time, Zach walks back inside and Jerrica told him that he was wrong for having her paged, walks away and told him not to bother her again! Zach then begins to assist the cashier with the transaction but walked away 5 times to assist customers in the Auto section DURING MY TRANSACTION! During his entire assistance and interaction, Zach Did not look up, Did not acknowledge me, nor did he apologize for the wait or hold up. It took 23 minutes to complete my transaction due to the actions of Zach the Auto Customer Service Manager! read more

This is a review for Walmart's Salon.  One day a tall random guy asked me where I go to have my hair styled.  I hesitated because I wasn't sure what his angle was or if I was walking to a sales pitch, or an insult, or if he was trying to recruit new clients.  So I hesitated and proceeded to tell him that I style my own hair and I've occasionally gone to a handful of different salons (Dominicans & Visible Changes) to have my hair straightened but have had some bad experiences with some form of their techniques. Be it the way that these stylists detangle hair, the blow drying technique, etc. forces me to stay away because I'm very tender headed, suffer with headaches and I've seen bad blow-drying techniques result to horrible flat iron results. With that being said I'd rather detangle my own hair.  Is that something you can do because not all salons will accept that because they'd rather use their own products? He replied yes we can do that because that's less work they would have to do.  So I decided to give them a try arriving with my hair in 8 sections & detangled with only my Shea Moisture Leave-in Conditioner. I arrived at 1:20 as a walk-in client and asked the stylist if the tall guy was in today and she said no David is on vacation and will return Monday.  Well is there someone that knows how to style natural hair & the wait time?  She told me yes she's been natural for over X-amount of years (I can't recall the magic # but it sounded good) and it will be an hour.  I said ok thanks I will do my little shopping and I'll return.  Now the stylists probably hear and get clients like myself a-dime-a-dozen and rarely return but I returned 20 minutes early within the quoted hour. When I returned the stylist that I spoke to was still working on the same client and no one was waiting on her so I thought great I'm just in time I should be next right.  Wrong!  She had me sit in the chair to assess my hair type etc. and told me that one of her clients was at McDonalds and when she returns she would have to stop and take her.  While I appreciated the heads up; she not only did that to me once but 4 more times.  It was after 6 when I left this place and I was underwhelmed with results.  Mind you earlier I stated that I went with only my leave-in conditioner.  Well this stylist didn't add any other products and said that she didn't need to because the leave-in conditioner was enough product and served it also served as a heat protectant for the blow-drying and flat ironing.  When I got ready to pay she told me that it's only fair for her to only charge me for flat-ironing my hair since she didn't curl it.  ... All I have to say is my blind grandmother would've done a better job than this.  I had to flat-iron my hair once I got home because I don't think this is how flat-ironed hair should look. read more

This is a horrible location. I believe I was racially profiled by their cosmetics department. I picked up some lotion and facial moisturizer in their cosmetics department but as I placed them in my buggy to continue shopping I was stopped by an employee and advised I had to check out cosmetics in the cosmetics department. I told her I wasn't done shopping and she said I would have to leave the merchandise in cosmetics and return when I was ready to check-out. Meanwhile I watched as other women carried their merchandise out of the department to continue shopping. I left the department and went to the service area where I requested to speak with a manager, however, the manager would not come out and speak with me. I received a "compliment" from a Wal-Mart employee advising this is the store's new policy and that my claim of racial profiling is "overreaching." If this is in fact the new policy of Wal-Mart stores, that all cosmetics must be checked-out in the cosmetics department, then it needs to be applied to all customers across the board and there should be signs to this same effect at the front of the cosmetics department giving notice of a change in Wal-Mart's policy. Because none of these measures were taken at the time of my visit and other customers were allowed to leave the cosmetics department with merchandise without checking out first, I can think of no other reason why I was stopped and others were not. read more

Delivery service is absolutely horrible. I ordered a Tv mount and TV. The delivery time was between 12-1 pm. The tv mount was delivered at 1 however my TV WAS NOT. The driver for my package was unaware there was a TV. I called several times and finally got through to someone and The pick up department MANAGER (John) said my TV Would be delivered within the hour. I'm trying to get ahold of them yet once again and no answer and I'm unable to leave a voicemail. its now going on to 2 1/2 hr. And still no response. read more
