When you go to Walmart, you know what to expect. An odd microcosm of humanity among organized chaos. You don't go to Walmart to buy fine wine, you go to buy a giant box of Franzia rose'. I don't expect a whole lot from Walmart so I'm usually not dissatisfied. Sometimes I'm even pleasantly surprised. Today I was surprised, no, more accurately, shocked. Appalled. Disgusted. After a lot of tea at lunch, my first stop was the restroom. I didn't have a minute to spare. I walked (really, jogged) into a horrifying scene. I have never seen anything so filthy. I cannot believe a person could or even would make such a mess. I won't go into details, just use your imagination and multiple by 6 I noticed a sign that said "if you're not happy with our restroom, we aren't happy either". I went directly to the service desk. As soon as I said bathroom, the employee interrupted me and said that maintenance wouldn't be in until 4. Four o'clock? It was only 2:30. My report most definitely wasn't the first. How does such a large store function with such curtailed maintenance? They should have at least closed the restroom - it was a biohazard? I don't hold Walmart very high on the ladder. This time the ladder broke. And as far as the mess, the person who left this obviously did it on purpose. Shame on you. read more

Purchased a Mainstay Microwave at Store #332-University. The microwave is a fire hazard. Inside sparks and ignites food. Attempted to return item to 2 Walmart stores. Neither store would take the item back. I have the receipt.. Hopefully Walmart is not restocking microwaves and then reselling them. Please refund my money. Shameful. Have been in line waiting to check out for 30 minutes. It's 2 days before Christmas and the store is packed. There been 1 register open for the duration of my wait. Management: your insistence on not staffing your registers during the busiest time of the year and assuming everyone will simply use the self-checkout line is the reason for this review. Your consumers and your personnel deserve better. The one woman working the register has undoubtedly been standing for hours and is moving so fast that she is actually sweating at her station. Kudos to her for her incredible determination and ethic. Shannon was absolutely incredible, and the only positive experience during this entire time has been seeing her smiling face even though she is obviously doing the job of 4 people on her own. We were in the technology section we asked 3 times to get something unlocked from the glass case he's said "sure" every time. This man played on his phone in front of us waiting, just walked around us doing nothing, talked about his plans for the night with another worker. All instead of helping us unlock the case to get one thing out. We were waiting there with him just watching us for 10min. I ordered Walmart pickup. On arrival there was a gentleman that immediately walked up to my car, asked for my name and checked me in. He was back out with my groceries in no more than 5 minutes. He was very polite and overall made this a very pleasant quick experience for me! I love the Walmart pick up - it's so convenient and you don't have to deal with the dreaded check out line. All of my groceries where exactly as requested, fresh produce as well. On the outside this little shopping area is a little run down, which is the only negative. read more

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. The most incompetent people work at the University Drive location. I am a spark driver part time and this is the WORST location. The past 3 days I've accepted offers and no exaggeration the orders either get canceled or take forever to come and what adds insult to injury is after a after a long wait time I see cars that came AFTER me getting serviced before every time. I've even canceled orders while in the parking lot and accepted new offers in HOPES that I can finally complete an order nope. Nothing. Same delay. I've missed out over $200 dollars with this location. They need to do away with spark driving at University they already don't have enough parking spaces designated for spark and the workers are slow as molasses . read more

I know this is Walmart. But sometimes a great employee can really change your perspective of a business. I had bought a car battery here 2-1/2 years ago with a 3-year warranty that died on me this weekend. One of the techs at the automotive department tested the battery right away and said it was testing good but needed to be charged. He said to leave it to let him to charge the battery because it could test bad after being charged. Later that afternoon he called me to say the battery tested good. He said it was all charged up and he had cleaned off all the corrosion and applied corrosion preventive on it to prevent any future corrosion. And he didn't charge me a thing for all his great work. That day a great Walmart employee brightened my day. Thank you Walmart. read more

This store is literally a nightmare. I hope I wake up from this. Everything is a mess. The prices are mismatched with the items. Pallets and stock fills the aisles at random. The layout of the store seems counter intuitive. There are no cashiers, which normally I wouldn't have a problem with self checkout, but this time when an item rang up at $13 but should have been $5, an associate came over and charged me $5. Good thing I checked my receipt because I was charged both 13 and 5 for the same item. Of course it can't be fixed at the register, so now I wait in a twenty minute line to get my $13 back. Tire Center Review: I went here last week on Saturday, Sept 3rd) at 3:14pm. I was turned away from getting wheels put on my car. The reason? Oh, because "we are closing at 4pm today. We don't have anyone closing tonight and they have been here all day". WHAT?!? I know that Walmart knows how to schedule openers and closers. They wouldn't be in business if they didn't. Now, the real reason... opening day of college football and Alabama is playing. I find it completely and utterly ridiculous to be turned away when (even if you're closing in 45 mins) you can't take my service... which is, my money. Trying to find someone who would cut me a yard of material. I'd already spent 45 mins grocery shopping. I look around for an associate. No one. I walk to rear if store, to paints section working my way to the front of the store. No one. I go to someone monitoring self-checkout & ask to send someone to fabrics. He can't do that. I walk further pass each checkout... Only 2 are open. I find 4 women associates standing together doing nothing. I expressed my complaint. No one said or did anything. (The Focus) Customer service (The Inspection) So, I go here mainly to get groceries, but I decided one day that I would like I get a pellet gun for a bit of fun out in the woods. So I made my way down to the sporting goods section and selected a pistol to get but the employee decided to help a different person instead. After the employee was finished dealing with the other customer(who didn't have anything from the sporting goods section and had a full basket) I came to the register and put my gun on the table and he starts to ring me up. Then a different customer comes up and asks for some special rounds(can't remember) and asks for his help, and the employee stops what he is doing, doesn't say a word to me, that's right, just leaves to help this random person, so I was patient and waited about 5 min for him to get finished. I said forget it, left the item on the counter and preceded to leave, then he comes back and attempts to finish the transaction. I told him he could finish with the other customer and left. Caution: A LOT of homeless individuals hang out in the parking lot and harass the customers for handouts. I would avoid this Walmart especially during evening hours. It's not the safest place to shop. Pharmacy: I have had the same prescription filled there every month for a couple of years now. They have NEVER had enough in stock and I've had to wait days for them to order it. My insurance won't let me refill until the exact day I am scheduled run out. Thus, every month I have to go without my medications for a couple of days until they order additional quantities You would think that after a couple of years of having to order additional quantities each month, they would learn to keep a little more in stock. I eventually gave up altogether and switch to Publix pharmacy and haven't had any more problems. read more

It is not often that someone writes a review about walmart, but today is that special day. Club Walmart off of University Drive. If you are a single bachelor and live around the Huntsville Metro or within the Valley this is the Walmart to visit. This walmart is located and marketed for an Urban Customer so keep in mind the type of girls you find attractive. During my single spats I have often hit up Walmart to find those women that are more home bodies and just want to sit at home and watch two movies for $11 dollars. Maybe even pop in the movie "Never Been Kissed" and spark up some witty conversation. Try it out. read more

I believe the larger that Wal-Mart gets, the worse they get. The one I sometimes shop at is on Sparkman Drive in Huntsville, AL. The prices on the shelf, if there is a price, rarely matches what it scans for. Look at your receipt and you'll see what I mean. I don't buy produce there because there are no prices. Come on people! It's not that hard to price something. And the employees. If they would just recognize the fact that you are there, that would be a start. We are spending money at WalMart. Create a customer service training program for these people so they will have a clue. I don't know why everyone puts Walmart down so much. They consistently deliver on my expectations for them. I never have a problem with quality, even on their food items. Prices are low as expected and sometimes you have to wait in line. This one is open 24 hours which is always a convenient option when you are travelling. read more

I had to rush my daughter the clinic on Sunday because she was coughing up blood. She was prescribed a prescription and was told to take it as soon as possible. My wife took the prescription to Wal-Mart and asked Wal-Mart Pharmacist if the medicine was available. The Wal-Mart pharmacist said let me check. The pharmacist checked and replied yes we do have it and it will be ready in 20 min. My wife came home and told me. I then told my wife that I would go pick it up. So when I went to pick up the prescription I was informed that they didn't have it and that it would be ready the next day around 4pm. (My daughter is still coughing up blood). The next day I go to pick up the prescription and they said they still don't have it (my daughter still coughing up blood). I ask the pharmacist if Wal-Mart knew that Wal-Mart couldn't get it why didn't Wal-Mart give my wife the prescription back. No answer................ So now I am frustrated... I went to the one of the managers and explained to him what the issue was he then one of the pharmacist told me to come back and when I get back there she and another pharmacist tried to explain to me that they have the medicine they had to pull the medicine because the store policy is that once the medicine hit the 3 months that they have to pull it from the shelf. I was like are you kidding me. The pharmacist asked if I wanted the medicine i was like yeas as she was getting it ready I expressed my concerns and frustration to her then afterwards she said that she is not going to fill the prescription. I asked the pharmacist why she said because it is her right to refuse to fill my prescription. I said so how did you go from filling my prescription to denying it. She said it is my right. I then replied I have a sick child at home and you are going to refuse to refill a prescription that I needed yesterday? So I went to the store manager and explained to her what the situation was she then told that she has no control over the pharmacist and that they got the right to refuse to fill a prescription with no explanation. I then told the Store Manager that what she is telling me is that Wal-Mart allows employee to discriminate she replied no but she has the right to refuse to fill your prescription (my daughter is still coughing up blood) they have had my prescription for 2 days. I told the store manager that if she refuse to fill my prescription because of store policy about them having to pull the medicine because it was approaching expiration date then I am fine with that. The store manager then told me that she said she didn't fill it because I was disrupting the business. I wanted to warn people. I bought 2 gift cards, walmart ones a few days before Mother's Day 2013. One, was for $50. Another was for $25. I gave my neighbor one and my daughter one. Both cards had NO money on them when they went to use them at the store. Buyer beware! They have been NO help either. They are saying they are investigating the situation..but they have not compensated anyone back, people who got a card as a gift and were planning to use it on something got messed over and this store manager does not care in the least. I would totally avoid this store, it is rough, dirty and now I know they have thieves working there stealing innocent people's money when we try to buy a gift card also. We visited our local Walmart off University drive on 6/28/2014 in Huntsville. As soon as we walked into the main store from garden center we spotted a large display of pools. We looked for the heck of it and noticed that the were priced exceptionally well. I asked a nearby sales associate how to go about getting the one priced 49.93 since it would not fit in our cart and she decided she should check the price first. There were 4 different types of pools all advertised to be reduced from 279 and then each size was ranging from 49-121. All the prices were incorrect. I did not feel it was my fault so I asked if we could have a manager come over to explain the false pricing. The female manager came up and immediately started yanking down the sign. She did not acknowledge me or even attempt to offer apologies for the misrepresentation. I asked about the pricing and she rudely informed me that I would not be getting a pool at that price and that the numbers had been changed. The display was in the center isle, I doubt some hooligan could have swapped the numbers around on 4 large displays without being noticed. The place was swarming with people and associates. She was extremely rude and very unprofessional. She also talked down to the sweet elderly associate who had requested her to come to the display. Not that it will make any difference in Walmart sales around the country, but I think we will shop elsewhere for a while. read more
