I ordered a box of goody powders delivered from Ktown Walmart , they were delivered fairly quickly but when I tore open the envelope they were delivered in I noticed the box was smashed and the lid was opened, then I noticed what appears to be the corner of label.where the item had been returned to the store , and there were only 13 of the 24 powders, How does someone getting paid to pack one item not notice these 2 things?? 1-Star Review - An Unacceptable Experience at Kannapolis Walmart (4/20/2025) I don't write reviews often, but after what happened to me at the Kannapolis, NC Walmart on April 20, 2025, I feel obligated to share my experience. I was in the market for the Blackstone Bronco 3-Burner 28" XL 3-in-1 Propane Griddle, Vertical Smoker, and Prep Cart Combo (Model #2415). I originally attempted to purchase this item online from the Thunder Road location in Concord for in-store pickup. Hours later, I received a cancellation notice, stating the item was out of stock. Frustrated but still hopeful, I checked online and saw the item listed as available at the Kannapolis store. I decided to go in person to confirm availability and purchase it directly, rather than risk another online order issue. Upon arriving, I located the Blackstone combo in stock and was relieved. I was quickly approached by a young male associate using a pallet jack. While I regret not getting his name, I do want to take a moment to commend him. He was incredibly helpful, polite, professional, and physically capable--especially for his slim build. He had dark fingernail polish, which I mention only to help store management identify him. He exemplified the kind of customer service Walmart should be known for. Unfortunately, that positivity was short-lived. While the young man was maneuvering the heavy box onto the pallet jack, another Walmart employee approached--this one in a wheelchair, wearing a name tag that said "Randy." Randy rolled up hastily, inserted himself into the situation, and looked at me with suspicion and asked, "You do know how much this costs, right?" I was immediately taken aback. His tone was not informative--it was condescending and presumptive. I responded, "Yes, I do." But Randy didn't stop there. He then followed up smugly with, "Well, how much is it?" At this point, I felt embarrassed, angry, and deeply uncomfortable. I'm a grown Black man, shopping for a product that I researched and fully intended to purchase. Why was I being interrogated about whether I could afford an item--at Walmart of all places? I told him, "It's $1,000 before taxes," and he immediately backpedaled with some awkward, meaningless small talk. I could barely focus on what he said after that, because the damage had been done. This felt like a litmus test, a humiliating and racially-tinged moment meant to shame or deter me from purchasing the product. Even the young man who was assisting me seemed visibly uncomfortable and embarrassed by Randy's behavior. He turned red and looked away when the comments were made--clearly recognizing how inappropriate and uncalled for they were. Let me be clear: No customer--especially no Black customer--should ever be made to feel scrutinized, interrogated, or shamed when attempting to buy something. This was not just a case of poor customer service. It was disrespectful, discriminatory, and offensive. Walmart leadership, I sincerely hope you take this seriously. Randy's behavior needs to be addressed through proper disciplinary action and additional training in unconscious bias, respectful communication, and anti-discrimination practices. Meanwhile, the young man with the dark nail polish deserves to be recognized and praised for handling a difficult moment with grace and professionalism. I left the store with the product I came for--but also with a lasting sense of disgust at how I was treated. That should never be the case. You lost my respect that day, and unless changes are made, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Do better, Walmart. read more

Walmart has the best price around for full synthetic oil change. This Walmart never has the filter that you need for the oil change. The technician always says oh we never have those. Wouldn't you think that you could order them? My car is a 2022 so there's no excuse for not having the filter. I have tried twice now and no luck. I went back last Friday and still no filter. He told me to go to an auto parts store, buy one and bring it back, but there's no discount. read more

This location is great at providing the shopping experience from Hell! Most of the employees don't care. Most of the shoppers here don't care. The best part of the experience is when you get out of the parking lot and see the store in your rearview mirror. This store is great at under-employing the needed amount of cashiers at any given time. Today they had five registers running out of the 30 they have across the front of the store. It is a Sunday and we are in the midst of the busy holiday shopping season. The lines were so long they were blocking the traffic trying to shop. The self checkout lane was backed up past the produce. I also went to Food Lion today and they had 4 registers going in a store about 1/4 the size of this Walmart. Open some registers people! Shopping was made more difficult by having to dodge the Walmart employees shopping for the curbside pickup. They aren't friendly or courteous. They act like they are top-priority shoppers and everyone else is in their way. It helps set the mood for the checkout line you are about to go stand in. The parking lot and the roads leading into it also add to the fun. It is a total cluster during peak shopping times. I usually park in a space far away to avoid the congestion near the store. Getting out of the NorthLight shopping center is a big relief once you hit the corner. read more

The worst store. I placed a pickup order, received a notification it was ready, drove to the store, waited about an hour, only to be told they can't find my order. They clearly didn't give two craps my order was lost. The guy reassured me he would cancel and refund my card...but nope. I had to go and cancel the order myself. This store is terrible. I used to love shopping at this Walmart. No longer. They have instituted a practice of checking your receipt if you have unbagged items that won't fit into a bag as you walk out the door as if it were a Sam's Club. Simply put, they not only don't trust their cashiers, but they also don't trust their customers. I have never seen this practice done anywhere in the US outside of the wholesale clubs. I think it sends a bad message and discourages shopping there. I know I will quit coming there to shop. UPDATE Ok so here's what I've learned about shopkeepers privilege. Unless Walmart has probable cause that you have shoplifted something, you are under no obligation to show them your receipt. This is different for membership stores like Sams Club. If they try to detain you for not showing your receipt at Walmart and they have no probable cause to think you are shoplifting, then Walmart can be sued for false imprisonment. So I encourage all my fellow honest shoppers to simply ignore these requests to see your receipt. You are under no obligation to do so. read more

I wish I could give this Walmart a negative star. Just had the worst experience with my pickup order. I already wrote to Walmart to inform them of the service this store is providing. To save you the long read, I'll summarize it. I waited almost TWO hours for a pickup order that was "ready". To then be told that they lost my order and " I don't know what to tell you." Asked for a supervisor and was ignored. then once they found my order things were broken, food all over the bags. I've tried to use this stores delivery services and it's HORRIBLE as is their customer service. I paid for 2 hour delivery and after it was 6 HOURS LATE and they didn't answer their phone I called the 800# and they handled it( plus they canceled the extra fee!) this time I didn't pay the extra fee to have it in 2 hours but would get it the same day.... That was yesterday morning, its 1:45pm and I have never received my items, they won't return my phone calls and it took me 7 hours of repeated calling to get them to answer the phone to begin with! I'd rather pay more and get better service with Target and not only get your stuff in 2 hours ( without paying extra) but ACTUALLY GET your ITEMS! And TARGET answers their phones! Walmart Kannapolis location does put a hold on your card for your items that they DO NOT DELIVER and it's STILL there! I had to request my delivery be canceled and THEY sent to know WHY?! read more

I was standing two feet away from a shelf. A Walmart employee moved right in front of me to stock the shelf. He was literally an inch away, right in front of me stocking the shelf. He moved away, and I was prepared to let it go, then he did it again. I then old him bluntly to not do that again. A few minutes later, he and and his coworkers were loudly making comments like: bye, see-ya. use the self-checkout and get outta here. I assumed the comments were about me, even if they were not directly stated to me. Keep in mind, this occurred while there is a 6 foot social distancing order and shopping is limited to essential purposes only. The Walmart worker was not only endangering me, but himself. I spoke to a manager about the incident and the manager dismissed the social distancing aspect of my complaint, though he did recognize that it was rude to stand so closely between me and the shelf. I believe the manager was trying to help, and concerned about me as a customer, but his reaction suggest he works in a store culture that is not concerned with worker or customer safety. The staff at this location are generally friendly and helpful at the registers but it's pretty clear there just aren't enough of them to keep things moving and serve customers in the rest of the store. This Walmart is, however, quite... walmarty. The customers tend to be very unaware of how they occupy the space and leave trash, sleep in cars, and just generally abuse the store. There's not many isles that don't have someone ambling down the middle, careless of the fact that they are very in the way of others. Anyway, I realized I am without a proper outfit today, and out of desperation I went in search the aisles of Wal-Mart. I know I can always count on Wally World to get me what I needed on a budget. Since I moved to North Carolina I've been going to this Walmart and I dont see why others gave it 2 stars I haven't seen anything that I haven't disliked, and they always have what I want, it's a super affordable store and you can't go wrong with that, also the bathroom are clean . I see staff cleaning on a daily basis which is a plus and shows me that they want customers to come back, haven't had any verbal or physical problems with any employees, and if anything they all seem to be nice , so yes I rate this store a 5-star because of its customers service and to o how affordable it is. read more

Walked in . Spent around $150 on groceries . Everything was good . I needed change for a $20 because it's NBA all star weekend and me and my buddies like to make a bunch of $1-3 prop bets on the festivities . Went to customer service to get change and the associate said " can't do it bud , against policy " and turned around and walked away !!!! HOW RUDE ! Do not bother stopping after dark. The entire point of a 24-hour supercenter is convenience and to grab what you need in a pinch. I ran here at midnight for formula for my 8-month-old after spilling the canister I had (sleep deprivation from a colicy baby bites). They had the entire area in front of ALL the formula blocked off, buffing the floor. I spent 20 minutes finding an employee to ask for one canister of formula (instead of being that person who just charges through) and was told (I quote), "I can't help you, and you can't cross the tape. I guess you and your kid are out of luck." Really? If I did anything like this in my line of work, I'd be fired on the spot. Worst. Service. Ever. And how rude and inhumane to deny a baby one canister of formula! I will not be back, and the manager should be severely reprimanded for this kind of rude and disrespectful behavior taking place on their watch. It is beyond atrocious. Eh, it's a Walmart so you pretty much know what to expect. I like shipping here because they have a wide variety of items I want and need. Usually at competitive pricing. Also if an item is cheaper on their web site than it is in the store, the store will match the online price of you ask. I hate shopping here because they never have enough checkouts open. You've got like 20 registers and only four of them are ever open. Why?? I know they can afford to pay enough employees to open more registers. But nooooo, I have to stand in line forever or attempt the self check-out which for some reason hates me and always ends with me needing assistance. Oh and don't bother trying to get help at the sporting goods counter. No one is ever there and in our experience no one is coming to help you even if you flag down an employee who says they will send someone. (We ended up leaving and making our purchase at Academy Sports). But it's Walmart so I think a lot of us have a love/hate relationship with the place. read more

Wal-mart is the last place I want to go to. Yes, their prices are low. Yes, they offer self check-out. Yes, they have a generous return policy. These are the few redeeming qualities of this business. The problem with the Kannapolis Wal-Mart is not really an issue with the Wal-Mart itself, but the customers. People from all walks of life come into this store. Some smell pretty bad. Other just wear what they've worn to bed the night before. 2 nights ago at 9 pm WORST experience ever... only one check out lane and 2 out of 4 self check outs were not working. This is becoming an all day everyday experience. There was even a Walmart employee behind me and she bluntly said out loud, this was because of they had the worst store manager every and she's been with walmart for many many years, the company has gone down hill, pay and benefits gone down hill, way over worked and over stressed and simply can't get their jobs done and this manager has just made things worse. Tire and lube department- the best!! I live in Charlotte and will literally drive 30 min to come here- I have used them for the past year and half!!! Consistently good! They take great care, check tires, battery's and everything else as well as oil change and vacuum - super nice employees. And I never feel like they try to screw u over and charge you for anything extra unless you really need it. I'm a single mom and Always feel like other oil change places see I'm a woman and think that I don't know better and try to up sell, change and fix and 80% of the time they don't need to. Good honest oil change! Even had my tires replaced here last year- the mechanics will give u honest opinion and it's great prices!!! read more

Absolutely the worst experience ever at Wal mart. My wife waited in line for 40 minutes to have lunch meat sliced then another 40 minutes to pick up some hot wings. She had four different people wait on her and each associate needed to ask my wife again what she was waiting on. No one seemed to communicate to each other. We eventually found a manager LYNETTE that really has no business being a manager. She had no customer service skills at all. When we explained our situation about the length of wait, she only made excuses and offered no help. She does not represent Wal Mart and the service that I would think Wal Mart expects. My advise if you are going to Wal Mart for anything, please be prepared to stand in line for a long time and do not expect a manager to be helpful.....We will be going to Lowe's Grocery next time! read more
