My most recent visit to The Stock Market was on a Thursday evening this past July. On a previous visit to the Concord/Charlotte area, we found The Smoke Pit when searching online for a good barbeque spot near our location. Since they are in the same building, we also discovered The Stock Market. We love the restaurant so much and returned on this trip to the area, so we also made a return trip to the butcher shop this time around. The Stock Market is located on Concord Parkway, just a few minutes off of 85. It is in its own building that is half restaurant and half meat market, but all the same entity. There is plenty of parking in front and on the side of the building. However, it seems to fill up with all of the patrons coming and going! You will have no issue locating the place, as it is clearly marked with signage. Just note that the hours for the store differ from the restaurant, with the store closing earlier. We stopped here just after 5:00 PM, and it was not terribly busy. There is usually a lot of action in the area due to the restaurant, but the market portion has never been overwhelmingly crowded when I have visited. There is a lot of signage to direct and instruct patrons to the correct side of the building for the market. After you enter on the right side of the building, you walk right into the store. This shop is definitely a true butcher shop. There are so many different types and cuts of meat. Fresh, frozen, shelf-stable, and more varieties await you. There are other select grocery items, but you would not be able to complete all of your typical grocery shopping at this one store. They also sell bones and specific items for dogs. We bought our dog a bone, and he loved it! As stated, there are fresh and frozen meat options available. The selection is great, and you are able to find a lot of different types and cuts not typically available in a traditional grocery store. Most of the meat seems to be prepared in-house, but there are also some name-brand items throughout (such as for sausage). There are a lot of options already on the shelves, but I would assume if you were looking for something specific that it could be cut and packaged right there. In the back, there is a fresh meat counter where you can pick your exact weight and have it packed right there. A deli counter is beside it, offering lunch meats and cheeses. It did not look like they produce their own lunch meats, but it is an option if you are in the store. There were also some hot, ready-to-eat items in this area too. There are signs hanging advertising the different bundles that you can buy. There is a Chicken Bundle, Beef Bundle, and Pork Bundle, which all contain 5 different varieties of the respective meat. The total weight is around 25 pounds per bundle. The Variety Bundle allows you to mix and match 5 different types of meat, each in 5 pound increments. This would be a nice way to try different types and cuts of meat or to stock up your freezer. The prices here are decent and comparable to any other meat store. They had a deal on select packages that you could mix and match to get 5 packages for $29.99, presumably presenting some savings. There was also a discount freezer in the rear of the store with items marked down to half off. Though, for the quality of meat and vast selection, the prices here are not too bad. Each time I have visited the store, the staff has been kind and helpful. There are cashiers up front, as well as deli and counter staff in the back ready to serve the customers coming in. We have enjoyed stopping into The Stock Market when we find ourselves eating at The Smoke Pit. It is a nice butcher shop with a good amount of variety and fresh items. The prices are fair, and all of the staff is friendly. Would recommend giving this spot a try if you are local to the area! read more

I've been searching for years for an affordable, local butcher and have finally found one in the stock market. Attached next to their bbq joint is this butcher shop with a wide range of meat, seafood and bulk frozen foods. They have everything from gizzards, livers, feet to traditional cuts. Prices aren't bad, but depending on your items the bill can add up quick. I'm a fan of the pick 5 for $40.00. Portions are slightly low but overall a good value. They offer larger packages that I certainly will try in the future. read more

This restaurant has become a staple for us. The chicken leg quarter is one item that is ordered every visit. The other is BBQ. I always selected the brisket but no longer do because it is so fatty. The last two visits had chunks of fat. They were the size of a dime or smaller and there was more fat than meat. I understand there is fat in the brisket if you don't select lean but I don't want steak like brisket. It took me more time to remove from the brisket than it took me to eat. So while my boys still love getting food for takeout here I have passed the last 4 visits. I still rate the overall the restaurant with 4 stars. They lost a star from me because their brisket has been so disappointing that I no longer get takeout but I still get food for my boys. read more

Simple set up serving some of the best bbq I've found. It's not far off 85 if you're traveling through Concord. Half meat market (great values on meat groceries) and half bbq restaurant...both sides make this place is a must visit. Today I went in for the burnt ends sandwich. I changed my order last minute...burnt ends are just hard to find and I can't pass them up! As always they were phenomenal. You're given options for the buns and I've always gone Texas toast. They're Texas sized with great flavor. Even those huge Texas toast buns can't contain all the delicious perfectly smoked burnt ends in that Sammie. I went here in a Saturday afternoon to go shopping for the upcoming week. When I arrived was plenty of parking. I haven't been here before but I have been trying to get into shopping more at a meat market than the grocery stores. When I arrived the store had signs stating pick 4 for $24.99. I had ask one of the people who work there which products were included. She told me if it had the pick 4 sticker it was included. I was able to get 4 quality meats for $24.99. This was a great deal for me. The place wasn't that big but there space was well thought out they had a sections for beef, chicken, Turkey, seafood etc. They also had many deals for chicken and other items. I found out that this place is closed on Sunday's. And they also have a restaurant attached to them. I will be coming back to check out the restaurant and grabbing some more meats. read more

It's a pretty good haul here from the LKN area but I wanted to smoke some spare ribs and had wandered through the Stock Market one time after a good BBQ meal at the Smoke Pit next door so knew they would have what I wanted. I got a cart and did a couple rounds of the place to see what all they had to offer beyond just the ribs I was coming to get and they have quite a selection. Steaks, chicken, pork, ground meats and sausages, some frozen foods and a good selection for those wanting to smoke their own cue. Packer briskets, St. Louis, Baby Back and full spare rib racks, pork butts... I walked out with 4 racks of St. Louis ribs a pound of country sausage and a pound of market bacon. The ribs turned out great after about 5 hours in the smoker, the bacon was good and the sausage was just ok to me as it was missing some sage flavor that I tend to enjoy. That's a to each their own kind of thing though. I won't come here every time I need meat as it's just too far away from home but at least when I do go I feel like it's worth the drive based on both quality and price. read more

The Stock Market is right around average. They have most cuts of meat, especially some of the harder ones to find in the big-box stores. They're definitely on the more expensive side, and they do a terrible job of trimming their product. Most cuts, you're paying for around 55-60% meat, and 40-45% fat. I want to give them better reviews, I've just consistently had an average to below average experience with the product. Staff is friendly and helpful. I must have originally gotten there on a good day. I went there 3 times lately and had to throw my meat away. I bought expensive steaks and sirloin steak chopped meat and some pork..all of which had to be thrown away. The steaks were stinky they smelled like eggs the chopped meat was horrendous!!!! It smelled like mechanical oil of some sort a very chemically smell. That went straight in the bin. The pork was slimy.,I wasn't able to feed that to my dog for fear she would get sick. When I need a great piece of meat I go here. Everything I have gotten here so far has been the highest quality at reasonable prices. I bought a whole pork butt. The BBQ and sausage I made from it were my best ever. The chickens are fresh and taste like a chicken should. His rib eyes are the best I ever bought. Very tender, thick and delicious. He put them on sale for 5.99 a pound last week so I bought 3. They are usually 10.99. He said beef prices went down so he lowered the price. How many places do that? A customer wanted oysters for next weekend so he suggested they come back Friday to get fresh ones instead of using ones that would be a week old when they used them. When you walk into the store you are greeted. The staff is courteous and extremely helpful. The prices are excellent. They have meat packages starting at $59.00 and mix n match 5 for $20.
