This Walmart is in a good location, right off of 40/64 in O'Fallon. There is a fairly large parking lot that is easy to get in and out. It is a clean and well stocked store. Lake St. Louis Walmart has to be the worst Walmart in St. Charles County. Very rude young people working by self checkout. Ask for manage to make sure they knew how rude they were to customers and they refused to call a manager. Of course they all stick together. Very disrespectful. Shelves not stock properly. Food never rotated. Won't be back to that store until it is under new management and they actually care how their employees talk to their customers. read more

I was bait and switched with the Walmart + program and store offered road hazard and flat repair with mounting and balancing. Shop could not put tires on my truck because lug nut was too tight? Don't recommend this place for car repair or tire replacement. They don't have a problem taking my money online for tires they can't mount and won't offer the hazard coverage that was the reason I bought at Walmart. Why would someone by tires and then have to go pick them up and then have another facility mount and balance them. Ridiculous! Called customer service and they did zero. I visited the store to return a defective item and went to the Customer Center during business hours. An employee loudly informed me from a distance that it was closed. I turned around and saw him by the self checkout area. I asked him what time they typically close and he said 10pm, but due to staff shortage they closed sooner this evening. I asked for a manager to process the return. Nick said he is a manager, but was too busy to help me and basically said have a good night in a dismissive manner. He then walked in to the customer center and as he was opening the door there I asked if there was another manager who can help me with the return. Nick completely ignored my question and closed the door. Not sure how he became a manager, but he definitely needs to be trained on customer service as his behavior is not acceptable. read more

What is the point of self checkout if almost every-time I scan my card it doesn't work and the employee watching has to come over and manually enter everything just so I can pay. It was absolutely chaotic in the store. Of course it was because I came the day before Thanksgiving. I had to get seasonings that the other store unfortunately did not have so this was my second stop at another store. I came to customer service because I had to get a price adjustment and the person at my register was new so unsure of what to do. There was a team lead name Jonathan helping out upfront at customer service to ensure his team was not getting behind and consistently asking customers what he could do to help them to make sure everyone was having a great experience! I enjoy shopping this Walmart. It's very clean and the employees are friendly. It's handy having a First Community Credit Union inside. I can usually find what I need and it's easy to use their app for locating items/checking prices while shopping. Service at the pharmacy has always been good, too. I used the Pickup service a few times; no issues. I also used their grocery delivery service once. It was fine and convenient. My only issue with that service is that it was very hard to get a delivery spot; but to be fair, that was when COVID was in full swing. read more

Wow so neat compared to other Walmart's I've been to. I've seen at least 5 workers working on restocking the isles, there is nothing better than a freshly stocked isle! If you're thinking of using grocery pickup or delivery... DON'T! You may save a little money on the front end, but on the back end when most of the produce you receive Is damaged or rotten, it's not worth it. Beware of the Walmart Grocery Pick-up at this location. My pickup was delayed well past my window, at least an hour. Who knows how much longer it would of been. I had to cancel it. I've had friends with similar experiences or worse. I have probably used this service 12 times and have had small delays and have waited once over 30 minutes for my order to be brought out. We are campers passing through and found Refuge at the Walmart on the West Side away from all customer parking. Went in first thing in the morning to pick up a few groceries. I usually go to the O'fallon Wal-Mart but since they don't stock shelves, are always out of the same items for weeks on end and never have any lanes open, we decided to drive the extra five miles to see if this Wal-Mart is any better. Everything we wanted to buy, was actually available at this store, unlike the O'fallon Wal-Mart. The store was clean , stocked and the employees were friendly and they had plenty of check out lanes open for a Saturday. This place is nicer than the typical Walmart. The selection of groceries and produce is relatively good, and the staff is helpful. One of the employees, Gary, noticed that our family was looking for some water. They were out so he went back to the stock room, found some for us, took it to the register for us, and accompanied us out to the car where he loaded it in our trunk. As we are walking through the aisles guys with large pallets are coming down the aisles and they weren't too interested if myself or anyone else was there. Made it difficult to navigate store. Never did find washer fluid. Checking out we found one lane not busy but after unloading cart realized the woman in front of us was an employee with a couple transactions. I went to the Walmart in dardenne prairie to pick up a few items one of which was empty on the shelf. I took the tag few items one of which was empty on the shelf. I took the tag from the shelf and had to walk to the hunting department to have them check their back stock. Louis the cashier looks at the tag and says they don't have it. This item isn't something in the hunting department so I enquired how he knew that, and he responded that it was because they do there stocking at night. He told me would check another stores inventory, but then began talking to Allen from the department next to hunting department about their lunch break schedule. Meanwhile I am standing right in front of him, and after about 5 minute of their conversion he goes back to checking inventory. He finds that they had a large inventory on hand. He told that had some, and I responded that I thought there might have been. He in a confrontational tone asked how it is that I would figure that. I responded that often smaller items will have a large back stock. I am general manager for a retail store, and I know you store is only as strong as it's weakest link because that is the impression that will stick with your customers, and that is exactly what louis did for me. This is an update to my "Anne W." post from 5 Jun 14. I do NOT currently recommend the automotive shop at the LSL Wal-Mart. Communication amongst staff is poor. One employee made a follow-up appt for me on Saturday, at 7 AM. When I arrived at that time, I was then told that "we only have mechanics here from Mon-Fri, 9-5". So I then made a THIRD appt for, you guessed it, Mon at 9 AM. Left the car there for what I anticipated wd be several hours worth of work to fix my a/c. They called me at 11 AM to explain that it was the a/c condenser, but that they couldn't fix it at that location as they "don't have the personnel or the equipment to perform such a complex repair." It would have been quite nice to have known that in the first place. Suggestion for Dave, the new manager: make sure all your staff knows that you only have mechanics during the week with day time hours. Customers tend to get pretty damn mad if they show up at 7 AM on a Sat for an appointment that then gets pushed to Mon morning. And if you aren't equipped for whatever reason (lack of skilled mechanics, lack of parts, etc) to do an a/c repair--notify the customer up front instead of taking her money. read more
