I've driven past this Walmart many times but there are two more closer to my house so I usually go to them when I do go to Walmart, which is fairly seldom. I decided to stop in this time just to do it and it was a pretty good trip. The entrance is small but gets the job done. It's a bit awkward because the left side is the entrance and the right is the exit but it's marked pretty well. The inside was fairly organized and clean looking. I've seen some Walmarts that look pretty worse for wear so it was kind of refreshing to see this one not bad with items everywhere, a sensory nightmare. I had to get some stuff in the pharmacy section, where everything is locked up now and it took less than 2 min for someone to show up to unlock the doors. Easy peasy. There were a shocking amount of registers with actual employees working them. I went to the self check out and it only had like 4 registers. I don't know if it's because they have never changed it or if things are swinging back to manned registers. Let's hope it's the latter. There was an employee working here too and she was friendly and kept the line moving. All in all, I'd definitely come back to this Walmart with its nice employees, clean space and ample parking. read more

I went to the Walmart on Tropicana this "Walmart" is very disappointing. I asked all the associates up to three associates if we can get some help. I then seen this young girl she tells me to push a button for help, so I did. I asked for help five times with that button, no one came so-I left and went to another Walmart, very good store, the one on Eastern if you want good customer service "everyone" go the Walmart on eastern and serene. However there were many employees standing around most on their phones ignoring customers. You have plenty of employees standing around the self checkout registers yet not one of them can ring up a customer when you see a large crowd using the self checkout. Doesn't make sense! read more

The bakery department of this Walmart was so impressive. Ordered my wedding cake from here and they totally nailed it. The price was beyond reasonable and the decorator made sure to connect with me about the details/design . I would 10/10 recommend you get your cakes here .... We needed to stop and pick up our grocery items for our trip to downtown Vegas. We waited a bit for the pick-up order to come out, and nobody else was there. I asked the clerk where the eggs were so I could put them on the back seat so they wouldn't get crushed. Here, he had already put them in the car and put bottles of wine on top. Are you kidding me? We forgot to pack a wine opener with us, so we had to run into the store to purchase one and I will say that this store is crazy busy. A security car patrols the parking lot, and the area doesn't look great. I wouldn't want to walk around the area where this Walmart is located at night. Dangerous Shopping; Be careful when you go in the store on tropicana and Pecos they have patrons on aisles who are either after your personal belongings or out to hurt you so please be careful going in the Walmart on East Tropicana and Pecos Blvd.... After someone tripped me, I went over to contact Security... useless! This is one of three unique Walmart Supercenters in the Las Vegas valley that are actually mini-supercenters. It is a mini-super center with a unique history. The Tropicana Walmart is the only Las Vegas location to have been in business for years shut down for years and to reopen. Before it closed down, it was a Walmart discount center that operated as store #1560. When the supercenter boom hit Las Vegas in the mid 2000s, Walmart relocated store #1560 to a brand new Supercenter at 6005 S. Eastern Avenue that competes with this location today. This is the only area in Las Vegas where there are two supercenters practically within a 1.5 mile radius. When Walmart executives learned that they had a 99 year lease on the Tropicana Avenue location, they reopened it as a mini-supercenter. As of this review, I have been to the Tropicana Avenue Walmart eight times as a Yelper and a tourist in the early 2000s. The truth is that supercenters such as 6005 S. Eastern Avenue, Serene Avenue, and Marks Street provide a more true Supercenter experience. Here are some examples of what this store lacks that other supercenters have: an auto center, vision center, hair salon, grab and go, and two entrances. If I had a tire that was low on air, I could not bring it here because the auto center is nonexistent. I use this mini-center as a super 7-Eleven when I am in the area. As others have said, there is some degree of sketchiness in this part of Las Vegas. Walmart shares storefronts with thrift stores and other discount businesses. Years ago, I read about thugs holding this store up in the afternoon. I feel that that the Branson Security patrol with the lot cop camera pole adds a sense of safety. That is how I want to feel when I go into a business. This mini-supercenter does not feel overwhelming like the genuine ones do. When I walk inside the one entrance, it is a relatively short walk to reach the food and general merchandise departments. Customer service is to the immediate left, in a space where a fast food eatery normally would be. The grocery aisles are scattered throughout the left side. What is different here from 6005 S. Eastern Avenue is that over there I have a large choice of grab and go beverages. But not here. Recently that was a frustrating experience when I wanted to buy a bottle of water for Sunset Park. However, here, they sell tall boy beer from a register-manned aisle where 6005 S. Eastern doesn't. I have usually found what I wanted throughout the narrower grocery aisles. To the right of the main entrance are the condensed general merchandise departments that appear to be competitive to the larger supercenters. To the back is the one set of restrooms. From my visits, the store has been clean. Thanks to a recent remodel, it is bright and modern. Recent remodels have also resulted in the front end being primarily self checkout. If I was buying a lot of items or was too exhausted to want to do the cashier job, I could see this being annoying. Although, Walmart associates can change faster than ownership of a casino, they have been friendly. For example, when I did a return here years ago, it was effortless. The man I interacted with at the liquor register on my last visit was friendly. When I shop here, I am blending in with locals and tourists. It is off the Tropicana transit line that connects to the Las Vegas Strip and a relatively short taxi ride to the resorts. There is a high probability that I will return to the Tropicana Avenue Walmart Mini-supercenter when I am in that area. With that said, I give it "Three Stars." read more

Took OVER 40 minutes, 6 calls & me having to wait for ONE manager at 2:50pm on a Friday, to get assistance. ABSOLUTELY TRASH! You know.... Of course there is the stereotype of Walmart & I personally believe in my experience, I've witnessed it every single time I go to any Walmart. With that said, I enjoy going to this Walmart. It's definitely an older space, nevertheless, I always find exactly what I need. In addition, my pharmacy is located inside & they are some of the best pharmacist, pharmacy techs, & assistants I've ever experienced. There customer service overall is always exceptional. Again, this is my personal experience. If you are plant based/vegan like me, this Walmart has been getting more & more plant based products on the shelves making it even easier to shop there for my groceries too. Luckily, they have a text support person named Gous, who got everything sorted, so quickly that what I originally ordered just arrived at my door. Delia in the dressing area was extremely rude, won't be coming back to this location. Is I approached the dressing room area and delia she cut me off before I could even say anything because she was having a conversation with her coworker and told me to hold on, no please nothing just hold on. I was looking for some work pants, but everything was locked. I went to the fitting room (the nearest place with an employee around) to ask if someone could unlock them. The employee there, with an attitude, said she couldn't help and told me to find someone else. She could've easily used her radio to call another employee, like I've seen others do. Eventually, I did get the pants unlocked and went back to the fitting room, politely asking the same employee if I could try them on. She told me the fitting rooms were closed, even though I could see other people using them. Frustrated, I left the pants behind since I couldn't try them on. Later, I was in the same area and saw the same employee letting someone else into the fitting room a person who happened to be the same race as her. This employee was an older woman with gray hair who honestly didn't seem like she should be working in customer service. Very rude customer service. I was returning a Christmas sweater with the tags still on it, with a receipt, and within 30 days and they would not accept it saying that Christmas items cannot be returned. I understand if they have exceptions to the return policy as long as it's posted somewhere or you find this out when you're actually BUYING the item. It doesn't say that anywhere on the receipt and wasn't posted at the store. If I had known, I obviously would have returned it sooner but I didn't want to go to the store the week before Christmas when I'm sure it was crazy busy. Unarguably the worst Walmart in the valley. The employees are fine, it's the customers. I dread the walk from the parking lot to the store, knowing there are adults and children alike asking me for money. One time, a woman in a van rolled down her window and began explaining to me why I need to pay for her groceries. I ignored her, but when she couldn't take a hint I asked her to leave me alone and she called me a slur. A group of young boys, maybe 10-12, asked me to donate to their school, and I said "when I come out I will give you change," to which they responded,"yeah right mother f---er". Often, I am greeted at the front of the building by patrons who are very clearly on drugs. Standing and drooling, staring into nothingness, holding onto cement poles by the glass doors. Inside, it gets worse. The last time I went here, there was an older gentleman with few teeth being inappropriate in the girl's underwear section. When I glanced at him he immediately started yelling at me. I notified staff and they addressed the situation perfectly. Because this Walmart is close to the strip and smaller hotels, when there are events in town this location in particular gets very busy. Not ideal for the average local on a Tuesday afternoon. In regards to the establishment itself, this Walmart more often than not doesn't carry any eggs. No white eggs, no brown eggs. I don't know why. The produce has cuts/bites in it occasionally. I commend the employees that work here. I came here so often, I was used to them and they were always accommodating. The location of this Walmart is so bad though. I can't come here anymore. I do enjoy this Walmart! It's laid out nice. People food and Cat/Dog food in the same area. Some Walmart's have the people food on one side and animal food on the other side of store. This was the second time that I use their automotive center Extremely friendly stuff both times the first time I use that I had a flat tire In their parking lot they got me in right away for repair However within evaluating my tire they saw that it couldn't be repaired so it had to be replaced and I got A brand new tire put on my car for around 200 for labor and new tire Second time I used him it was for a tire repair and it cost me $15 it was quick easy convenient because I could go by the groceries and things I needed in the house in the meantime Definitely bringing my car back in for anything else that happens read more
