Did my purchase at a self checkout of course because they only have like one or two actual registers open. On my way out put $5 into the self serve lottery ticket machine. It took my $5 didn't give me the ticket. I politely asked the self checkout girl for assistance. She went to the customer service area and said that someone would be right out to assist me. After about 10 minutes went by the customer assistance still hadn't arrived although she walked right by me and said she would be there in a second. Anotjer 10-15 minutes went by and nothing and I finally said screw it and left with no resolution to my problem at all. Large Walmart Supercenter with full grocery, a Subway and a pharmacy. Plenty of parking. Friendly employees. Huge selection. Anyone who has been in a Walmart knows what to expect as they are pretty similar across America. This one, being in a small town, isn't as packed as others I have seen in larger cities. It's a more casual atmosphere that is relaxing to shop in. Due to it's location off the highway, there isn't much additional shopping nearby but there are a couple good options for dining. Walmart tire and lube failed to add oil to my car during oil change. I was stranded out of town for two days. Store manager has yet to return my call and it has been 3 days. Corporate said that I would have to sit on the side of the road for three days before they would get back to me. They haven't had the best new help here. Never take my car here again. Very costly experience with no concern from company. Support the small guys. Great help from business in Cherokee. He provided me with photos of everything he observed. read more

What do you do when you have a few hours to burn in Le Mars? If you are me you check out the local Wal-Mart. I should also point out it was late in the day and a lot of business in a small town are closed. My first reaction was, wow it is surprisingly clean in here. My second reaction is this store is freaking huge! I can speculate about why this Wal-Mart is so nice. Perhaps it is that it is in Iowa where people are generally nice, clean, and law abiding. Maybe it is that the land is cheap and (assuming) the labor is inexpensive, making it easier to hire people to clean the store. Heck if I know, but it's nice for the locals, assuming it hasn't driven some mom & pop places entirely out of business anyway. Wandering around, they had a lot of everything, large pharmacy section, then racks and racks of bikes followed by toys. After the toys, what did I see but guns! It's been a while since I've been in a rural enough place where there are guns out for sale like this it seemed odd. They had the requisite housewares, kitchen and bath section too, plus the large TV's and other electronics. What really caught my attention was the fairly complete grocery section. The produce area was small, but otherwise they had aisles and aisles of food. You really didn't need to go to a regular grocery store unless you needed a lot of produce. Compared to the Bay Area the prices were quite nice, although I can't say compared to a grocery store in Le Mars. What can I say, if you are here and need to buy some miscellaneous stuff this Wal-Mart is nice. read more

This store is alway neat, clean, people are friendly and willing to help. I was looking for a particular spice and the guy who looked like he had a lot of freight to stock to the shelf stopped what he was doing to help me find what I was looking for. I stopped by here to pickup a few things over Mother's Day weekend and the store looked good, adequately staffed, and appeared to be undergoing a remodel. It's great to see that Wal-Mart is investing in this location to ensure that it's around for quite some time in the Le Mars community. read more

Like a trip to Shopazilla! Can there really be this many things in the world just in this one store? There isn't one of these in SF and I know why...we only got 49 square miles of land. The folks who work here sure are an upbeat bunch of smilers, and very helpful. If you need it, they have it, I betcha. Wish it was solar powered, the roof's big enough, and the parking lot could use some shady spaces provided by solar panels. Enjoy! read more

Normally I don't do to many reviews about Walmart stores. This one is for the vision center and the grocery dept. 1. Vision Center: Had eyes checked elsewhere to start with and it was a botched job. Couldn't see more than 75 yards down the road. Went to Walmart and when that Doctor was done and I got my new glasses I could see as far as was needed. This is the only place I will get my eyes checked from now on. 2. Grocery dept.: I shop here a lot. Prices are better than Hy-Vee. Up until yesterday it has not been a pleasant experience due to unpleasant staff which borders on being rude, visiting with customers long after they have paid for their merchandise. You stand there waiting. Anyhow yesterday it was different. Wish I would have remembered the checker's name because I would certainly mention her in this review. She was the nicest person I have ever come across in this store. Pleasant, polite and very apologetic about the wait time due to people in front of me who seamed to think they had all the time in the world. Most of the checker's always say have a good night? (in the middle of the day) This person said with a smile, "Thanks for shopping and see you next time." Well I sure hope i will see her again because this was the best experience ever had in this store. Thumbs up to this young ladies pleasantness. It made the whole day. read more

I never thought I'd catch myself saying this but this store location is literally the best Wal-Mart store I've ever been in. Compared to the worst location on Crenshaw Blvd. in Los Angeles, this store belongs within 5 miles of the AR corporate headquarters. You guys rock! read more

Worst customer service I have ever received in the many years I have shopped at WalMart. The cashier was rude and condescending. She seemed upset that I had interrupted her conversation with two customers and I had asked for her assistance to check out. I asked for my purchases to be rung up as two separate orders and she became verbally abusive when I pointed out that she had failed to do that. She literally tossed my purchases into a bag. I don't know if Diane was having a bad day, but her behavior was inexcusable. read more
