Very disappointed. I bought a product that was over 4 months expired! I brought it to the Hy-Vee closest to me, not the store purchased from. They would not refund it as they do not sell it there. It's going in the trash, what does it matter? So, I then drive to this location, the one I purchased it from. Had to go to 2 places to return an expired item. I was not irate, I was not being a Karen. I was calm. I explained what happened and that I am double mad now. I wanted a refund and maybe a coupon or something for all the gas I used to return it. Did not accommodate. They would rather lose a lifetime customer than maybe $5.00??? Really??? As you wish!!! I will not be coming back!!! They are a corporation yet that specific store can only do the return. What if I was even further away??? Either way I guess I am out a few gallons of gas (currently $3.50) for a product I don't even have. Do better. read more

This is by far the best location. Produce always stocked, as well as the shelves. The meat department always has a wonderful selection. Ok and Ms. Mary,such a wonderful woman/emplyee. As far as managers, if you take the position it comes with a lot of responsibility. When you have a customer engaging a conversation with you to talk about your employee, don't blow them off. Afer many years of abstaining we tried the ready to go HyChi in the refridgerated cases up front. Absolutely cooked to death and dried out leftovers. If this was in my fridge at home I would throw it out. I wish you would care enough to box up at the beginning of the shift, not after its been on the heater all day. This is a totally decked out Hy-Vee. Liquor store, deli/hot cooked food, plus full grocery store. Stopping here made it easy to simply stock our Airbnb for a more economical (and less fast food loaded) 3 day stay in Sioux Falls. I was happy to find smaller sizes of milk so we could have cereal in the morning without having to waste extra before hitting the road again. read more

Their sales are usually so bugged you have to go item by item and check carefully when you checkout to make sure you weren't screwed. I just got a bag of chips...tag said on sale, return clerk said I'd have to buy three. The tag on the shelf didn't say that. Returned the bag after walking to heck and back with a painful bum leg, and they didn't even refund the money. Said it might take two weeks. Anyway, writing them off now. That was my last visit. Bad service, bad organization and no concern for customers. I think they are having difficulties with profits. They seem to have inadequately trained employees staring about for shoplifters - I felt profiled...and they removed the self checkout kiosks. Hopefully they will close and another grocery will take over. Oh, don't fall for their "new lower prices" claim. It's a joke. I just came from the Minnesota Ave Hyvee. I have been shopping there for years. They had sale tags on Zevia and Lindt chocolates that I love. So I picked up more than usual because of the sale. When I checked out I learned these items were only on sale with coupon. I did run back and in fact the sign did say with coupon. The cashier was thumbing through looking for the coupon. I looked for the coupon. The store assistant looked for the coupons. I started to look on my phone and realized I was holding up the line so I paid full price. I spend $100's of dollars each and every week at this store, but not anymore. read more

Have a premium Isles on Line account. Placed an order, waited 30 minutes inline only to be told "we misplaced your order, you can wait another 30+ minutes or we can deliver to you within the same timeframe." 1 1/2 hour now and no delivery. Don't waste your money. read more

Great six dollar all you can eat salad bar lunch visit this past Thursday. I wish I could've eaten more than just one plate. There was no crab on the salad bar, but otherwise everything was up to snuff. If you're one of those people who like the creamy pre-made or pasta salads those do not come with the salad bar here, however, but that was fine with me. The only annoying piece was that the checker who probably was new, wasn't sure how to ring up someone eating salad bar at the store, especially on six dollar salad bar day, but one of the managers from the area helped her. One thing that was really cool was how so many of the Hy-Vee staff were enjoying their lunch together on the big tall bar top table. It was neat to hear them having a fun lunch experience at work and see them eating the same foods that we go there to buy. I am a frequent salad bar go-er, but this is probably the first time I saw so many staff eating at once together and be so lively. I usually don't find myself in this part of town when on work travels. read more

This is the most obnoxious Hy-Vee by far! The health market section is mixed in on the regular shelves and stuff is hard to find. It's also the busiest and most expensive Hy-Vee. Also, back in the summer I bought some grilling utensils and they were bagging them all separately. When I told the man I could just put them all in the same bag he said, it doesn't matter, the bags are just made out of oil and they'll just -poof- burn up and disappear! I really wanted to tell him, um DUH, that's why I don't want to waste them you f------ idiot! Unless you want to rely on the Middle East for the rest of your life.. anyway... my first job was bagging groceries at HyVee on 26th and Sycamore so I remember the days of double bagging everything. But we are smarter now and my soap can be in the same bag with my milk and it is not going to kill me. for real.. read more

It took me 2-1/2 hours to order groceries on their app. 1-1/2 hour of that was spent on the phone trying to navigate their app!! Finally, I get a reserved time for pick-up. I didn't get an email but figured if they make me reserve a time, then it should be good to go. I'm 10-11am. I'm there at 10, called to let them know I was there and sat for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Called the store and was told they are HOURS behind. Why take reservations then!! Sixty-five and would hope for better organization! read more

HyVee is my favorite grocery store out of the options we currently have in town. The Minnesota avenue location is very nice. Big store. The problem with this and every HyVee is that the teenagers don't know how to treat a customer. Talking to their friends is way more important than helping customers. That is a problem for me. read more

I like this Hy-Vee as the second best is Sioux Falls. I prefer the smaller one on 57th. This store has anything you could possibly want or need. There is a huge selection of products and services to choose from. The only downside is that the prices can get high. With Costco and Fareway you can find things cheaper. I still recommend this as a great place. read more

While this review is specifically linked to the store that I visit the most often, I really want it to be a review for basically all Hy-Vee's in Sioux Falls, as they are all now basically the same in both style and selection. To really understand where I'm coming from for this review, I think you first need a bit of background on me. I recently moved to Sioux Falls from Ann Arbor, MI. If you don't know much about it, Ann Arbor is a fairly expensive place to live. Accordingly, food prices tend to be higher there. However, because of the type of place Ann Arbor is (upper class and liberal), unique and specialty food items are much more readily available, so those types tend to be reasonably priced. In the seven months or so I've been living here, I've found Sioux Falls, and Hy-Vee specifically, to be the exact opposite in terms of food prices. The basic, general items tend to be cheaper, but the specialty items, if they are even available, are usually much more expensive. Being a vegetarian (along with my wife), I tend to rely on these specialty items a bit more than the average shopper. In turn, my grocery bill tends to be higher than I want it to be. Now, to the point of this rambling: Most people will have no issues with Hy-Vee's pricing and therefore would give them a higher rating than what I have. Also, it is definitely the cheapest grocery store I have found in Sioux Falls so far. As far as selection is concerned, Hy-Vee has most things that I need/want on a regular basis. As I mentioned above, I may not always be willing to pay their price for some of the specialty items, but at least they have them available if I absolutely need it. Their produce seems to be of pretty good quality, although this is probably their weakest area in terms of selection. The building is always clean, well organized, and spacious enough that it rarely feels crowded. One thing that Hy-Vee does particularly well is the management of the checkout aisles. They always seem to be adequately staffed with efficient checkers and baggers. My waits have always been more than reasonable. Plus, the checkers are always friendly and helpful. If you've heard of Hy-Vee, you probably know their slogan is "Where there's a helpful smile, in every aisle." While it's pretty cheesy, there seems to be some truth to it. Overall, Hy-Vee is a pretty good store, and it will probably continue to be my main grocery stop for the foreseeable future. read more

Nice, big store with a large hot food and deli area. They seem to be open when you need them and I really appreciate their liquor store, which has a diverse and satisfying array of beers, wines and spirits. Handy! read more

I'm so disgusted with my shopping experience today at the Hy-Vee store on Minnesota. On my way home I stopped to pick up a few items one of which was a bag of Hy-Vee chicken tenders. I went through the line, paid for my groceries only to find out that my checker didn't credit my coupons. I was told I had to go to the courtesy counter to have them credit them. Thinking all was good, I came home. While putting my groceries away did I realize the chicken tenders never came home with me. I sure hope the customer behind me enjoys my chicken tenders. After all, they were free to him. Way to go HyVee! read more

Expensive and all stores have different pricing for same items. Overall: convenient but expensive.

By far the best Hy-Vee in town. I keep thinking of Des Moines, IA since the grocery store choices are almost zero, either Wal-Mart or Hy-Vee are your main choices in Sioux Falls, little to no competitors mean higher grocery prices. read more

Hidden inside the Minnesota Avenue HyVee is an Oasis. Yes that is correct! We were given seats at the bar and asked what we'd like to watch on the one of the big screens, then asked what would we like to drink. They have 8 taps with at least 4 of them craft brews. I can't make up my mind and neither can my wife so we get samples to help us decide. We get 2 cold taps, sushi, salads, pizza and desert (the desert was out of this world!) It was one of the best meals I have had in Sioux Falls. The service was over the top and the atmosphere had a cool kind of Zen feel to it. Bravo HyVee! The secret is going to be out soon as apparently this is a brand new restaurant inside the newly remodeled store. You should check it out! read more
