I am glad that they put this Walmart in the area. It has been there for about 10 years or so and the people in the neighbor can appreciate it. The store is pretty big and it has everything that you need. Of course, like all Walmarts there are hardly any cashiers to cover the registers, but hey that's to be expected. Visiting this location shows the reason why many people try to avoid Walmart at all costs. There were no shopping carts near the front of the store. All of the carts were being used or scattered around the parking lot. The store was horribly stocked. To add a bad situation to the other problems, they did not have enough people on the register. The lines were EXTREMELY long. So long that all lines extended from the checkout area to the market, clothing, etc. I noticed a number of workers that could have been assisting on registers that were just standing around. It would be nice to see this location get more self check out lanes. I do not recommend this location. Drive a few extra minutes and go to the Southaven location. read more

Typical, VERY typical Walmart. Came in for some late night pickup and the store was clean for the most part. Some employees were out restocking items on the shelves. Got to the register & of course only 2 were open with about 5 people in each. Why is this a lesson not learned across the nation by now that a quick Walmart run includes the registers going quick? Worst Walmart in the city.only because I had time to wait is only reason i waited...cashier spent 40 minutes on 1 customer who card kept declining..front end manager finally came after 20 minutes..did not solve problem and left..was seen walking past register later as was not concerned about the line nor resolving the wait. Cashier spent another 20 minutes until he decided to pay with cash..no smile ..no greeting.cashier looked like a heavily made up zombie.no emotions..I told her that was ridiculous to hold up a line for 1 customers for 40 minutes..should have put him to the side for management.the one who came and did nothing.cashier never said a word back to me except to say the total.which she said so low I barely heard her.asked her to repeat it.this woman had to be on drugs.so zombie like.just a body punching a cash register no apologizing to customers .no response. no emotions..I try never to go to this Walmart..always a problem. does no good to talk to managers..all are very rude..offered no solutions..only resource is to call corporate..doesn't help either because nothing changes.only way I may go back if they get self check out so I will not have to deal with these rude zombie cashiers.then again I will stick to driving further to the one on Goodman Rd. read more

I said I wasn't gonna write a review anymore unless it was a positive one.So let me start by saying this walmart has a policy that forbids them to change your oil if u have a leak or anything else major wrong with your car. So I have a slow leak.....not really a biggie since I don't drive it all the time.so I'm usually able to still get oil changes,at least I was in houston tx.at that walmart on 290 fwy. Next up they take my keys and pull my car in for a total of two hours only to never change my oil,The cashier: me to the register and tells me my total of 2.15.I had a bottle of stering wheel fluid.I thought she might've forgot too charge me for the oil change and that's when I asked how come its just 2.15.She gladly said because we didn't do your oil change because of our policy. So I politely signed my receipt and discarded it as I was leaving the store.Now here is the worst part.........I go to another place and thank God I did.They popped my hood and bam no oil cap what's gives walmart on Elvis Presley your workers with their nonchalant work habits could have cost me my engine. This the ABSOLUTE worsed location in the city. 9 times out of 10 they are never fully stocked, they never have enough cashiers, they are extremely rude, and not even gonna start on the parking. I prefer you drive 30 minutes to the Walmart on Highway 64 to avoid a major headache. read more

If it were possible, I would rate this location a -100 stars. It is the nearest to my house, and it is a source of PERPETUAL DISAPPOINTMENT. Today's instance is based on the Tire Center. The store opened at 7am. I arrived at the Tire Center door at 6:54am. There was NOBODY in the Tire area. NO ONE had shown up to work! I had to walk around the store to the front to get inside the store. So, now I'm at the tire desk alone for another 10min before someone showed up. Once he arrived, he explained that he couldn't start work until at least one other technician arrived (Walmart insurance policy), and one service attendant arrived to write the order at the desk. I am still standing at the desk waiting for someone to write the order. I have been here for an hour and 15min total. I'm HOT about it! read more

Probably one of the worst experiences I've had it at Walmart. Won't go back to this one. Poor customer service. Cashier overcharged me and would not correct it on the spot. This store is the worst. Employees are rude, nobody wants to be at work, and management refuses to open up registers when lines are clear to the back of the store. There are many self-important front line leaders in yellow jackets that stand around in huddles talking to each other and security during their shifts. All of whom, never assist in opening up a register. When a manager is requested, customers are always told that they are not at work. I and many others opt for other locations, but after many complaints, if Walmart refuses to correct the behavior of their employees at this store, then Costco, Kroger, and Amazon will be be my choice for shopping. I work and live in the area so I shop at this walmart on a regular basis. I hate the walmart in southaven because the staff is rude and the store is always messy. This store is not always the best but I love this store. Now they could use a LOT more cashiers but you cannot get people to work! Man o man. This Walmart is the definition of HOOD! I was so afraid of the parking lot. Prayed every second that my car wouldn't be harmed (out of state visitor). My family lives in Uptown area and I think this is the closest Walmart to that area in Memphis. After visiting the outlets in MS, hubby and I needed to stop. Forgot to stop in Southaven. I remember when Walmart was the place to shop, but no longer. This particular store is the worst store ever. The greeters are half dead or at least act like it and seem to be afraid to say "Welcome to Walmart". The cashiers are rude and complaining to manager will get you nowhere, not even an apology. There's nothing ever in stock and if you ask about a product, no one knows anything about it. Even when they ARE stocking the shelves, the employees never say excuse me, never smile, and act as if you're bothering them. After my last experience at this ghetto super store, I will never be a Walmart customer again. I'll use the extra gas and go to several different places to get the products I need. I was going to give this store 2 stars after the cashier in the auto service was terribly rude to me. But, I spoke to the manager on duty (Brad) and he quickly corrected the situation. I had to leave my car there for 2 days and Brad made sure that he parked my car in front of the security cameras and kept an eye on my it till I picked it up. He was very honest and only did the repairs that I needed on my car and did not try to up-sell any other services. Thank goodness they have him, otherwise Walmart would be lost. read more

The customer service at this location is horrible. The staff is not knowledgeable of Walmart policies, merchandise sold in the store nor able to tell you where items are located in the store. The male manager of the store that staff always refer customers regarding issues is very unprofessional as evidence by being unable to solve customer issues effectively without being aggressive! I went to this Walmart and almost had an argument,with one of the employees about how bad the store condition was.I told her,I'm a paying customer and I've shopped there since they first opened-I have a right to complain.They,have 2 item Pickup points in the rear of the store which is crazy.I told the young man there why did they have a empty counter where they used to sell phones.It looks bad ,and the one he works at needs replacing.I can't shop for food there because their prices are too high.The Black people in the neighborhood call them the Ghetto Walmart.Now just about all I use them for is to pick up online items,because they never have what I need or want.Oh,and the their cooked food they sell is dried out under the heat lamps.The woman talking crazy to me don't know,I'm a on-call Mystery Shopper/Secert Shopper.I get paid to evaluate stores like Walmart.I'm hoping and praying I get an assignment to evaluate this store,because I agree with every negative comment listed in this review.A store employee should never argue with a paying customer.The male employee,asked me how could they make it better-I told them,and also said-I don't mean to offend anyone,but as a paying customer I have a right to voice my oppinion.What angered ,me was the comment by the female employee,was that I just wanted to complain.But you know,how it is"as long as Black people never say nothing" they will continue to treat us any kind of way.Maybe my next order,I'll ask for the home delivery. read more
