I used to live walking distance from here and I'd regularly order the famous fried chicken. This used to be my treat on hard days my first year teaching. On a whim, I decided to stop by and grab an 8-piece. To my surprise (8 years later) they have updated the store. It is clean, well-stocked and there are cashiers (yes, actual humans) who check you out and bag your items. I was also happy to see a wide selection of drink mixers and sodas, all reasonably priced. The chicken is still good. The service is better. I will be stopping in more often. read more

This place is an alright place to shop. They dont have a huge selection and its not unheard of for an item to be out of stock if there is none on the shelf. This is a small family owned store. Adults work by morning and by mid afternoon until close its mostly kids. They hire a lot of kids from the neighborhood. They have the immidiate area on lock down since this is the only store in the immediate area. Price are average to slightly higher. I only use this store for convienence purposes only. Good utility grocery. Provides all sorts of small store services that you don't notice until you need them. Not the least expensive on majority of items, but specials can be good values. Really appreciate the dollar store aisle. Really sorry to see them go. read more

As of late last fall, the Cooper's is now a Superlo location (or, as I call it, the "Cooper-Lo"). I'm pleased that the beer selection has improved dramatically in the few weeks since the changeover, which has led this to become more of a go-to store than it was before. read more

I look at coopers ads every week and generally find something to get me into store. The best thing is their meat and deli departments , with fruit and veggies running close seconds. Everyone working there is very nice and helpful. I don't do my main shopping there as they are pretty out of my way but am there at least twice a month. You should give it a try! read more

A While Back, I Had A Disagreement With A Store Manager Re. The Way My Groceries Were Bagged & Packed. I Wanted To Do It Myself. So That I Could Optimally Pack Everything Into Two Insulated Bags To Load Into My Back Seat. Sitting Down Inside The Store. Out Of Weather That Was About To Become SERIOUSLY Cold. I Actually Managed To Make Contact With One Of The Policy Level Senior Corporate Officers. And He Resolved The Issue In A Reasoned Compromise. That Kept Me Out Of A Pneumonia Ward. Fat Chance A Modern Miracle Like That Could Ever Happen With A Major Chain Like Kroger. Stepherson's Superlo Still Remembers What A CUSTOMER Is. As Opposed To A Consumer. Been the neighborhood store for many many years. Some things are a little higher than Superlo.

What I like is that I can have their ad emailed to me. I watch for their super buys. On there their standard items, they are a little high. I have gotten greats buys on ground beef, chicken, bacon and other things by getting that ad. It is a bit out of the way for me, but when there is a great sale, then I go. I like they still have a coupon for free eggs,etc. sometimes in the ad with a min. purchase. It is a store that I watch and support as often as I can since they are family owned. When they are out then I can get a rain check. I have also had stock people offer to go check in the back, before they say they are out. read more

I have been a long time customer of Coopers, now Superlo. They are not the most affordable store but the service is almost always friendly and personable. The reason for only 3 stars though is how often some of their items are out of stock but mainly, their produce section. Their produce is sub-standard to say the least. It is as though they get 3rd or 4th pick of the produce after other buyers. The vegetables and fruit are often bruised, dried out, much smaller than the same at other stores and I often see mold on the vegetables. They now have begun packaging some of their vegetables on styrofoam trays under cellophane. That is fine to do with a few pieces but that is now the only way they sell their yellow squash, broccoli and zucchini. This makes it impossible to inspect each piece which is very necessary at this location. Last week I purchased a tray with a zucchini that had some type of insect eggs attached to the side. Disgusting! Fix this and I would be inclined to give them 4-5 stars. read more
