    Walmart, Meridian ID

A quick stop for a restroom and supplies, this Walmart was in decent shape though the cart corrals needed attention. It might be because it was raining and who really wants to go out and shag carts in the rain? Inside the store, well stocked and they've converted a bunch of registers to the scan-and-go system of self checkout. Still not enough of them as there was a queue. Large parking lot. Three of four front edge bolts entirely missing!
    Shawn J.

I went to their automotive service center and AGAIN, they failed to put all my engine cover bolts back in. This evening, as my wife was driving home, the center and right front sides fell out of wherever they had them tucked because three of the front four bolts were never reinstalled. The engine cover dragged down the road for a dozen miles until my wife could get home. The last time, they failed to put ANY of the bolts back in, and it fell off as I pulled out onto the street. I am tempted to replace the engine cover and sue for the replacement cost, it's severely damaged! Gross incompetence!

Moldy produce purchased 2 days prior.

This is now the fourth time that I have purchased produce that was moldy from the package from this Walmart. This is completely unsafe, unsanitary, and unacceptable. After the third time, I vowed to never buy produce from Walmart again. I was desperate on Monday, so I gave in, and here we go again.

The self checkout didn't accept several items we tried to scan, so we moved to another machine and the same issue occurred. We were in a hurry so we just bought the items that would scan. One of the items we were able to purchase was a Vaseline bottle. Upon getting home we realized someone had helped themselves to our bottle before we bought it. Side note: why do they have 600 online pickup parking spots? Lol

Okay so I'm kinda Western Family and proud of that. So to know I shop at Wal-mart, would probably not surprise anyone who truly knows me. I'm just simple and no frills. Yet I'm giddy about this newer service. My wife loves to send me to the store to pick up the shopping list items. We have been using the Grocery app from Wal-mart to keep a list, but I seem to always bring home the manly smelling laundry detergent instead of the one my dear wife requests. So she found a way to make sure she gets the sliced turkey instead of the corned beef I somehow mix up. She orders for customer pick up! I pull into a designated parking area, check in on the app, tell my spot, 1-9. And color of the car. Moments later my wife's order shows up in my trunk. It's magic! Best part is it goes on her Credit card and not mine! Winner winner Wal-mart even has Chicken Dinners! Give it a try!

Dying rose handed out from employees to customers

I was handed a rose on Mother's Day while I was at check out. I did not feel special about receiving one of these. Number one you don't know if I'm a mother or not or what situations a person has been through that could make them sensitive to this holiday but on top of that, it was almost like a slap in the face because the only reason they were giving away these roses was because they were dying. So an employee (of course doing what they were told so I'm not mad at them) handed me a dead, dying rose with petals falling off it, leaves crinkled and brown, and told me Happy Mother's Day. You not only asked someone to possibly cross a sensitive line with someone but you told them to hand out dying roses to customers so you could get rid of them AND now I have the chore of disposing of it for Walmart instead of them tossing these dead flowers away. Thank you so so so much.

So, criss-cross apple sauce everyone STORYTIME I When you're a manufacturer/vendor and you agree to be on Amazon whereas you sell to Amazon and then Amazon sells to its customers, most vendors choose to pay Amazon 2% for handling the returns. This means that the returns do not go back to the manufacturer or the vendor. Please note that in Seller Central, there is also a similar program but some sellers can opt to have returns returned to them. Steelz from what I saw on their shelves seems to be a home for returning goods from various stores and platforms. It also looks like Steelz is the local recipient of left-over stock that Costco and others don't want on their shelves anymore. STORYTIME II Ever since the asterisk in the upper right-hand corner of the price matrix sign at Costco? If you see the asterisk, it means that the item has a number of days before it leaves Costco. That item may or may not sell out. If it doesn't sell out, meaning sealed, factory new items are left over, Steelz will most likely buy them at a discount ( liquidated price agreed upon with Costco and others ) and then Steelz is now the owner of the inventory of sealed and new items as well as any returns that Steelz wants to buy. While I walked through Steelz, I noticed many items from Costco. I couldn't determine whether or not the pricing at Steelz was indeed a deal. In my opinion, a couple of dollars saving wasn't worth it for me but I do see value for customers who are not Costco members. If didn't have a Costco membership but wanted to shop at Costco, then Steelz is potentially a great deal. Steelz also has many Kirkland products in smaller individual sizes like toilet paper and paper towels. We didn't buy anything at Steelz that day but I would be interested in going back and doing some more looking and pricing. There's been some discussion about the return policy or returning products overall. I can't speak on this topic since I have not purchased anything. If I do purchase anything and if I have to return anything, I'll update this review.

And no it wasn't written on the box. The scale was also dirty. Then I got a box with two cast iron pans. Because of history, I decided to open them in the parking lot. The, big one was used with rust. All in it grease all down the sides of the pans grease all over the bottom with rust, and the protective handle was breaking off in tiny pieces. Needless to say , 13 minutes after purchase, I was refused my money back and had to get a Shop card. When its the stores fault, the store needs to issue a refund. The Prices are more than Costco's prices. at least when you go to Costco, you get great customer service, refund, and reliability. BTW where is the owner?

It's a good store but what makes it challenging is that it has a Marshall's and a Sierra as a neighbor. So, if you don't find what you're looking for a Burlington, you just go next door to see what you can find. NOTE: There are differences between the three stores so what you would expect to see at Burlington is not what you are going to find at Marshall's but if your search is generic in nature, it doesn't really matter. I wish the Meridian store would be bigger but I think for the neighborhood, its good. If you're looking for deals, you have one more option at the VIllage.

I like that it is next to other discount stores so it's easy to hop from one to the next. For anyone who hasn't been to a Burlington, think Marshall's or Ross, with the same type of items at great prices. I do find that some things have lower prices here compared to a couple similar stores so Burlington is usually my first stop if I'm on the hunt for something. If you have been to Burlington then this is pretty much what you'd see in most places. If you're like me and your first regular Burlington was over 200k sq ft, then you might be slightly disappointed but it would still be fun to look around for some deals so go there anyway! This was our third Burlington for the day because I was looking for luggage, but I wanted a matching set. I found ones I liked at the other stores but no sets with the two sizes I needed. I found what I was looking for here and headed to checkout where Carol helped us out. She was super friendly and engaging from the second we walked up. Caring employees do not seem to be majority anymore so we really appreciated Carol and the way she treated us. She even went above and beyond to help us with a price issue. Burlington already has great prices and this location has great employees so stop by and see if you can find something you can't live without! Or be like me, buy something you know you don't need because it was a good deal and it's cute or cool or fun, but has no real purpose in your life. Happy shopping!

I use Rack to easily return things I order by mail from regular Nordstrom, where I have been a card holder since my college years and that was a literal lifetime ago, and this is much closer to my house than the Boise store. So, I was eager to see inside and said "yes" when I received an email from Nordstrom asking if I'd like to attend a pre-opening event. Based on my "look see" at the inside of the store, if you are a Rack-shopper-person and enjoy the Rack in Boise, this store seems much larger and brighter and new with lots of stock and friendly people so you'll probably love this one. Now to the pre-opening event itself, to suggest a different view than A.M.'s 3 star rating comments. She is correct that it did seem employees were letting in anyone who lined up in the very, very long line inside instead of checking the e-tickets sent to invitees. As someone alongside me in the tight space inside the store said, "So much for reservations only. PLEASE!" My response was that what looks feasible in plan sometimes doesn't work on the ground and improvising is necessary. Given the long line and that some people had several friends and family members with them (including multiple children including stroller age) it may be the employees felt they couldn't manage crowd behavior if they were reviewing tickets at the entry to allow only ticket holders access. I assumed, as A.M. did, that this would be a controlled gate. But when I showed up at 4:00 for the 4:00 to 6:00 entry option (the other option was 7:00 to 9:00 but that is after my bedtime) the line was already very long and growing rapidly. Nordstrom had employees on the sidewalk reminding people this with a ticket only event, and also asking them to please not block the entry doors of other retailers as people were doing that. There was also a sign at the Rack door saying "ticketed event" but many people ignored that. It also looked as if employees were metering in so that the store didn't get overwhelmingly full and waited for some to exit before allowing others in. I imagine for people with tickets who were waiting a long time in line that this was frustrating but it was necessary to avoid a crush in the store. Employees were lined up inside as shoppers entered using "applause sticks" to welcome us in and thank us for coming. They managed to keep this a couple of ticks short of chaos and some people were actually shopping for items and then lining up at check stands to buy them. They also had a DJ set up in the back and a free refreshments stand with cans of beer, sparkling wine, water, cookies and pretzels and people were lining up there too (free stuff has fans always it seems) and then strolling around the store munching and sipping. I applaud the Nordy's staff on the ground at the event for their friendly grace in all of this. As I was leaving an Nordy's employee standing outside the door thanked me for coming and said "come see us again on Thursday" (opening day). I laughed and said I would probably wait a couple of months until the horde abated and she chuckled, "Probably wise."

She asked if i wanted some pizza and of course I said yes. Looking at the pizza, there was no real rhyme or reason to how they sliced it. All the slices were different in size. Not one is the same. One huge slice, many smaller slices and some slivers. I asked her if 2 smaller slices count as 1. She said yes. I wanted a total of 2 big slices. I was in the middle of asking her and was cut off cause I didn't answer her if I wanted pepperoni or Hawaiian. I was literally trying to talk her that I wanted a total of 4 slices to make 2 big slices and was shut down. I took my 2 small slices and went on my merry way. I honestly didn't even want to take the slices I had. The whole interaction with her was tasteless. Why would I want to bring this to my husband? I have never worked in a Deli type job but I have worked in the food industry. Today's interaction with the gal was such a turn off. Maybe she should stick with making the pizzas instead of helping customers. What a complete waste of time coming in and grabbing 2 uneven slices of pizza.
