This is a no-frills grocery store with bulk bins and *really* competitive prices. They take cash/check/debit only, so leave your Visa at home. What's good: Service deli, great grocery prices, bulk bins for all kinds of good stuff, service bakery with good bagels and rolls. Customer service. Cold-case of craft beer and 22oz-ers. What could use some work: Donuts. They totally suck. Also, general grocery selection might could use a little work (they don't have the latest greatest cereal, for example) but I suspect it's because the price isn't right. This can be an issue if you clip a coupon for something that sounds kinda cool, then you find Winco doesn't carry it. Winco continues to be my go-to grocery store. read more

I was there at 11pm, and there was 5-6 of us waiting in line. A woman with short hair goes to the other register and motions for us to come over to get checked out. Another guy got there first then me, and she looked at me and said "IM NOT OPEN, IM GOING HOME SOON". I went back to my original line. A few mins later she opened up her register again and to help out another customer. Some teenagers walked up to her register to check out and she said again "IM NOT OPEN, IM LEAVING IN A FEW MINS". Russian lady at self checkout was a major bitch. Came at me for too many items in my cart without seeing the sign as I was in a hurry and she freaked out at me and basically pushed me out of the entire self checkout area. I do NOT recommend this winco. read more

I've shopped a lot more at Winco because the prices have gone up everywhere and I've always liked the convenience of them being open 24 hours a day just in case I need something at odd hours because my work schedule can be very sporadic. I've accepted the fact that you have to bag your own groceries here but sometimes it can feel more like a chore because your racing to bag it super fast when you've got people coming up behind you. Anyway one thing I've noticed.. they don't carry zyn or any nicotine pouches. I've come in here recently for more items that are not obscure items and most stores carry them so I was surprised winco didnt. The good. They've got a lot of bulk items, wide aisles, plenty of parking and very clean bathrooms. The not so good... everyone working here seems genuinely unhappy and depressed. People are completely zoned out. Produce is not very fresh. I stopped shopping at Walmart because their produce is so dismal and often spoiled. I could not find any good russet potatoes while I was here. I hate their coupon system. You've got to click on an obscure icon on the pin pad and then be 100% sure your coupon matches because once you clip it on the app you can't go back and see it. read more

A great selection of just about everything. Fruits are always plentiful and usually cheaper than the other stores. Bulk candy, cereal, spices, flours, pasta, rice, etc. make this especially affordable. read more

A WinCo foods employee took my cart at the register while I was checking out, In the designated loading location. I was in the process of paying and I was confused as to where my cart went. None of the employees were helpful or apologized for taking the cart from me. I was displeased with the service I was provided. read more

Winco is the best. This was the first time that I visited one. I was pretty Leary about shopping there because I didn't know what to expect. Because it doesn't have the greatest appearance on the outside and I wasn't exactly sure of what they sold. Nevertheless, I was craving fruit. And, they had a nice fresh selection of pineapple, watermelon, ripe avocados, etc. However, what sold me was their vast selection of bulk items particularly the flours: barley, rice, and other wheat-free and gluten free items. Literally, a baker's paradise. Also, they so many delicious gummy products that contained pure ingredients. Impressive and highly recommended! read more

Who needs a Costco membership when I have a WinCo in my neighborhood?!! Besides, with inflation, this place doesn't charge an annual membership fee. This store has a huge produce section & the bakery makes this homemade (or at least sells it) honey cinnamon whipped butter. It's delicious & my toddler LOVES it!!! read more

Well I was at the hot food getting a few corn dogs and the lady was helping me she grabbed a few of the cracked hard burnt one. Sence there was many of them I asked her to get one with the the cracked ends and body. But then she started throwing them back making upset sounds because i asked for a different one. Then she grab one and asled is that one ok? Then tossed it back in befor i said yes it was didnt whant to hear my opinion on it. Then as she was ringing it up the person helping me was talking bad about me to her coworker. She caalled me a child to my face then the other lady said they all teast the same when she gave it to me she practically tossed it on the floor and didnt even say anything els to me. I've written it before. I'll write it again: Winco is an Idaho gem. They continue to shine. Great selection, low prices, bag your own groceries. The only downside is the name. Waremart was much better. "Winco" reminds me of President Gerald Ford's WIN program, Whip Inflation Now. A shortened version of "Winning Company" isn't very creative. That doesn't stop me from shopping there, though. read more

Winco is simply our favorite grocery store, and our standard go-to place for pretty much all our food-stuffs. The prices are the best, the people are super friendly, and they don't go and change the store around all the time (like other discount stores). We love it, and go here all the time. Since they have quick-check, it's easy to just drop in for single items, as well as major shopping. [ True story: On the way to Winco, I am waiting to make a left turn at a signal light. My wife says, "You know, you can just creep out into the middle of the intersection to get ready to turn." To which I reply, "But I don't want to be a creepy guy." ] read more

The prices and selection are great. I especially appreciate the produce and bulk sections. It's open 24 hours, which is awesome for my weird work schedule. My only complaint is that the checkout lines get long at night when there's frequently only one or two open. Self-checkout is always an option, but when I have a cart full of groceries it's quicker to wait in line. read more

Love Winco! People ask me why I don't order online from stores and have them deliver... Well, I love stopping by and seeing my favorite employees Michael & Yolanda in the deli, and Charles at the checkstand 1. They all are so kind and make my shopping trip with small children so pleasant. The store is always super clean and if I have any problems, the staff is always willing to help. Customer service and just plain nice, caring people are hard to come by anymore sadly. I appreciate the smiles and hard work from the store and have never had a bad experience. As a fairly new resident to Boise I have to say I absolutely LOVE Winco! I only discovered it about a month ago after a friend's recommendation (after living here for a year). I've never found such quality groceries for such low prices. Sure there are cheap places to get groceries in every city, but the quality of items is usually pretty bad. Not at Winco! This location in Meridian is not my favorite. I like some of the fresh-made lunches better at my store in Boise. But this location is still good and only blocks from where I now work. It's now a routine to come in and pick up breakfast and lunch items and I regularly pay less than $10 for both. And when I'm in the mood I'll pick up a fresh steak for dinner. I did that last night and had an awesome steak I only paid $3.68 for. Amazing store! read more

This Winco is horrible and I can't wait to go back to Vancouver, Wa where the employees are nice and help the customer. I was walking around looking for a container and three employees walked by me and could see I was looking for something because I would pause at an aisle and peer down it then continue to the next aisle, my husband went to an employee and asked if they had the item I was looking for and instead of finding out if they had it he told my husband they don't sell things like that. So we continued shopping I walked down an aisle and THERE was the container I had been searching for, I am giving 1 star because of the rude inconsiderate customer service and 1 star because I finally found what I was looking for so they get a total of 2 stars. read more

Good prices but feels like a warehouse. I shop a lot in the evenings and it is kind of chaotic with all the pallets in the walk ways and beeping forklifts. If saving money is the most important thing when shopping, this maybe the place for you. read more

I'm not surprised that this Winco store has the highest ratings of all Treasure Valley Winco's. It's my favorite. The store is always fully staffed with friendly employees, their motorized scooters are always fully-charged and in good repair. I've never found anything out of date, expired, or spoiled. One of the best Winco's around... I've been shopping here since it opened. I also shop at Wal-Mart because Winco doesn't have all of the items that I need, (Spicy chicken patties, adult diapers, vitamins) but their prices are better or comparable to Wal-mart. Albertsons and Fred Meyer's prices are horrible in comparison. They used to not take debit cards which was a pain, but since they have started taking the debit cards, now it's a pleasant shopping experience. I don't expect much in the way of customer service from the employees, I'm just happy to be able to save money. Most of the time they just do their job and ignore me. I have seen moldy fruit, but I just don't buy it. Any fruit I do get I check very well... Apples are good, however smaller than at other stores etc... I have seen frozen food sitting out in the middle of the aisle for hours late at night, and again, there are certain items like waffles that don't do well once they are re-thawed, so I just don't buy those at Winco. We try to get in a lane at checkout that looks like the people checking out might be good at bagging their own items so we don't have to wait. Stay away from lanes with people and overly full carts... It will take them FOREVER to bag all of their stuff. Winco has THE BEST chocolate cupcakes. I have compared all the stores around and they are the best! Also love the fresh made bagels! Wal-mart is always out of stock on stuff I want so I trek over to Winco and they have it in stock. WinCo gets 5 stars from me for being the first grocery store (that I've seen) that has a sign on their door not allowing animals. I love animals but they have no place in a grocery store. (With the exception of service dogs!) read more

My only issue with this particular Winco is the parking. But, that's not a big thing. Like other Winco locations, they have great prices. If you know what you're there for you can generally get in and get out. I'm SO glad Winco has self check out! read more

We didn't have a grocery store like this where I grew up. I always feel like I'm getting away with something when I shop here. I end up with a huge, full cart of groceries and a smaller bill than anywhere else. I especially love all the bulk food they provide - I have always hated having to pay for packaging. You do have to bag your own groceries. Does this bother anyone? It seems like a small price to pay for much lower prices on everything I buy. read more

I paid around $70 at the cash register. Then was packing my groceries and the WinCo plastic bag teared up and a glass jar with Alfredo sauce dropped on the floor. And the plastic bag was not even heavy. Nobody even offered me to replace it. It is not about the money, it is about the customer service. I showed a plastic bag to the cashier, she just looked at me and said nothing. Every week I spend around $100-150 at this store. I just felt they just didn't care about me, because I already paid for my groceries and it is my problem. I don't think I will shop there again. I love this store. All of the employees are always so friendly and helpful. There produce is by far the best. I shop at many grocers for different reasons. One is close to my house, another is great for beauty and cleaning supplies. Winco is by far my favorite place to grocery shop. Great prices, great produce, great customer service. This is a great store! I really love all of the bulk bins where you can find everything SO much cheaper than on the shelves. Plus you can find those hard to locate items like aborio rice and such. They have a wonderful deli and seafood specials that blow everyone else out of the water! I also really love the ethnic selections. It's nice that they cater to most ethnicities and I don't have to go store hopping to find what I need. I'm fortunate to be able to shop during the weekdays because the weekends can be really busy! I don't mind packing my own groceries in order to be able to save so much money! read more

For variety and value, WinCo is the only game in town. WalMart can't come close and all the "designer" (Whole Foods, Fred Meyers, Trader Joe's) grocery chains are a joke. It must be a self esteem issue with the people who just must pay more for the food staples in life. Granted, Winco doesn't have a juice bar, coffee lounge, messuse, tarot card readers, bank or optometrist. Nor dragon fly wing seasoning from Jakarta. WinCo offers real value and good selections. I and do like bagging my own groceries. The take 'n' bake deli pizza's are very good and priced well below the competition. By far the best prices in town. Emplyees r always helpful if needed, but they won't bug u if u r just doing your shopping. I have found their deli bagels are exceptionally good. Used to shop at a grocery store closer to my house, but switched to Winco when recommended by a neighbor. I couldn't believe how much money I saved in my first visit. I was spending close to $200, but brought the bill down to just $100. the produce is really good and the overall selection is great. I enjoy the bulk section, having a great variety of snacks, nuts, noodle, and much more. Definitely recommend this grocery store, even if it's a bit more of a drive! read more
