Pretty much most everything has moved out. It's been purchased again with the hope of bringing back…read morestores and customers. However over six months later not a thing that is noticeable has occurred. There are a few stores and MCL seems to now be an anchor. During my April visit there were more security guards walking the mall than customers. The guards were not nice either. When snapping a pic they said it was prohibited. However no signs. The only nice popular stores have departed. No longer a theater is attached. So many mistakes have occurred with management. The Muncie Mall has a long way to go to recover and I'm not optimistic they will. I grew up going to the mall and it's distressing to see its demise. The mall was once the place to shop and be seen as a teen. Now the selection of items is all but gone. I see no reason to return. 1.5 rounding down.

For every open store there are 3-4 closed ones. So sad that malls are dying. The anchor store is a Books A Million. There are a couple shoe stores. A bath and bodywork. Some stores I have never heard of. If you are a mall walker which a high percentage of people were in there this is your place! No obstacles in your way. It is a good place to spend an hour or so. If you are hungry you have a MCL or Auntie Anne's pretzel. There are several security guards there and this mall is clean!

Stumbled upon this cozy little shop today and oh. Em. GEE!!! The owners are local and the wife…read moreowner's mama (that makes sense, right?) was working. She could not have been more kind and warm; I'm so sad I didn't get her and the owners' names (but her daughter also owns the jewelry store across the street!!). Olive & Slate is a must-shop. Instantly the scent of one of their candles hits your senses and you're drawn in. They sell these awesome robot pieces made of metal and tin and are painted and out together by locals. They also sell flour towels with amazing quips on them (see pics below - they're only $7!!), and Mud Pie products that you canNOT love without. You gotta go visit. BRING YOUR MONEY! Buyer's remorse is NOT a factor here!

There are numerous items (like coffee mugs) styled with clever sayings. There are candles and pots, note pads, and ceramics. Near the entrance is a 3' long "Woodie" station wagon car filled with products. I've never seen anything like it! The mix is eclectic, but somehow the owner has a good sense of style and taste to make it look like it goes together. She was glad to assist if I had anything in particular that I was looking for too! Just another cool shop to stop by when downtown in Muncie! Review #2620
