Supervisors that actually supervise and attempt to make things better, rather than attempt to explain all their misgivings on others. American workers answering the phones. was customer frequently since 1996 until last year. I go only 1 or 2 times a month now to use Meijer coupons sent to me. I no longer use their pharmacy. Transferred to CVS. Lot less hassle of availability of drugs. I do my main grocery shopping at payless as their deals are really good and I am a lot closer there also. Earn a lot of gas points. Meijer offered nothing for gas earnings. The last thing is most full lanes now gone. Sad. read more

It's a big box store. Meijer is maybe a bit more upscale than Walmart (you can get Woolrich socks here--made in the USA!) but maybe not as fancy as Target. Sometimes you can get really good deals on American made stuff! (The aforementioned socks for 7 bucks for two pairs). This store is pretty clean and it is reasonably easy to find stuff. By far the biggest reason to go here (other than that you live in Muncie and there isn't much else to do at 3 am) is that they have the best produce in town. If you want persimmons or pie pumpkins of endive, this is your spot. (also they tend to have Florida oranges--much better than California). read more

They'd get 4 stars if they were in Muncie city limits and thus paid into the schools, but pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. The produce has taken a dip recently, but I blame high trucking prices and a faltering economy, but my anecdote hinges on a trip to the meat counter. I asked for a pismo (peeled, side muscle on tenderloin) and they at the butcher's took me for a rube and sold me old meat. It was my mom's birthday and I being of the culinary persuasion, masterminded a Beef Bangalore, which was more or less a whole tenderloin done Wellington style but with potato samosa filling. I know fusion is so 1989, but whatever; it was gorgeous. So I bought a whole pismo at a price I'd only pay on such an auspicious day, cooked up a storm, and served. A few bites into the perfectly mid-rare steak, I noticed a whiff of horseshit. The beef had the pong of barnyard. The tenderloin was not advertised as grassfed or anything like that, and were it not for my decent pulao and decadent carrot halwa trifle, dinner would have been a total bust. We scraped the samosa filling off the rest of the Wellington and took the beef back to Meijer's customer service desk. The girl looked at me suspiciously (as anyone in his right mind would), and took my still-bleeding dinner back to the butcher. She came back 15 minutes later and offered me a total refund. It was nice to get that $70 back in the coffers. While trimming that beautiful slab of meat, I never got a whiff of that putrid odor. I don't know what brought it out, but it certainly wasn't garam masala or my filial duty. So long story short, Meijer might sell you some garbage, but if you call them on it and keep your story straight, they'll make amends. read more

I'm going to be honest. I have not been to this Meijer since I moved away from Muncie in 2002. That being said, I have a lot of great memories of late nights at this Meijer. I was introduced to Meijer by my brand spankin' new friend Mike in 1997 and over the next four years I watched the sunrise from that parking lot more times than I can count. What can I say? I'm an insomniac and a night owl. Meijer was the perfect place for 24 hours of fun in college. This review makes me sound like a total loser. I did do things that were more fun than going to Meijer. Meijer is just where we went when we were out of fun things to do or when we needed food, shampoo, and other fun things. read more

I REALLY do not like the self serve check outs. They screw up everytime in some way or another. Weighing produce is a time consuming task. Sometimes, though, they only have one or two check outs with real people. I have been tempted to just walk out when they are so understaffed. The best fruit/vegetable section in our town. One whole row dedicated to various ethnic choices and they are expanding their organic selections since it is one of their best profit margins. read more

Gotta love Meijer right?! I will always go to Meijer over Walmart because I am not about that life! They tend to have lots of good sales, the most popular being mix and match 10 items for $10 and get the 11th free! That always brings chaos and long lines to the store, but overall it's pretty easy to get in and out of here. read more

Meijer has a few issues; customer service, coupons, stocking, management .... 1. It is very simple to be friendly. Not sure if some of the employees just hate their job, but it is absolutely unacceptable to not even utter a word while waiting on a customer. Customers should be greeted with a simple hello, and definitely responded to when they greet employees. I have witnessed unbelievable rudeness from some employees toward customers. 2. The coupon policy is dinosaur at best with limit of two-like coupons per trans; Target allows 4; Payless allows 5; Walmart has no limit. 3. Fresh Thyme, Target, and Payless have superb customer service! They appear and act like they are happy you are shopping at their store. Meijer fails miserably in this category. 4. Meijer does not keep produce stocked in the morning hours. Some sale items are not stocked. Availability of items is a problem. 5. Corporate responds to complaints but the actual store does nothing to resolve as the same employees are still there and still RUDE! read more

i love parts of Meijer. With the closing of Marsh in town this store has been put to the test. They are really missing a golden opportunity to increase their share of the grocery market once Payless comes to town. Here are my complaints about this particular Meijer. The deli counter: It must be painful to work that counter by the looks on the staff faces. We just bought sliced deli meat from a woman who never spoke a word to us. they seem very unhappy. also the salads are pretty horrible looking. watery, wilted. that counter needs a makeover. secondly I am complaining about the restrooms. They are really dirty and unsanitary. it is not that costly to have them cleaned several times a day, especially the entrance doors. The Produce is great. The meat is marginal. General grocery selection is good. Pharmacy: there is one staffer i try to avoid; always rubbing her nose. In general prices at Meijer are fantastic. I have lived in Muncie my whole life. I have shopped at this store since I was small enough for Dolores the greeter to give me pennies for Sandie. The employee's treat me like family, the produce is fantastic, and I can find absolutely everything I need there. The thing that really sets Meijer apart is their sales. 10 for 10 week and 15% of groceries are always great. The lines are a little long sometimes but I don't mind waiting most of the time. I would recommend this store to anyone. read more

I am so very disappointed in the direction this store has went in the last few years. They have a new store manager, and since then I have brought home expired foods, moldy steaks, and can't get help when needed. The other day I needed cubed ham and after asking four people (in the department it is sold) and none of them knew where it was or were willing to show me, I asked politely if a manager could show me where it was. The employee said she didn't know if they had managers at the store (what?) Meijer has the products that I want and need to buy for my family, but I can't count on them to be fresh or for them to rotate their outdates. It's also been very clear that asking for help is not something their employees seem to know how to handle. I used to love shopping there and this saddens me and now I have to drive out of town to Kroger to get what I need. read more
