Whelp, this Macy's has reached its final days. I was told by a coworker that their 'going out of…read morebusiness' sale prices were great, so I stopped by to take advantage of them earlier this month. I wasn't sure what to expect since the sale had started weeks prior, and a fair bit of the store was already empty by the time I stopped by. But they weren't picked clean quite yet! So at the end of my shopping run I had a nice new jacket, multiple new pairs of pants, and cute but durable rainboots. I will say that even with the sale prices in place I still spent a pretty penny on my shopping spree; so hopefully, the things I bought last a good amount of time... Also, before writing this review I read the following comment about the sale on Reddit: "Would check it out, but afraid my car would be destroyed by the parking lot." As someone who braved that parking lot I can confirm, the holes in the asphalt were WILD. It was easy to dodge them since there were like six other cars parked in the whole lot, but still...it's obvious that no care has gone into the mall or lot recently. They're not closed just yet as of today - they're selling the store fixtures, shelving units, mannequins, etc. at this point. But April is quickly approaching so I expect to see "CLOSED" appearing in the listing name here on Yelp soon...

Parking lot and ring road are in bad condition, so be careful when driving around. There is only one anchor occupied, with it being split between Ollie's Bargain Outlet and Dunham's, with Dunham's having a mall entrance. The former Bon-Ton, JCPenney's, and Sears are vacant. The interior has almost no stores left and one was moving out during my visit. The Movies at Cranberry are gone. There is significant water damage in the mall and you can smell it from more than one storefront. The interior has retro sitting areas and two fountains, one of which sadly appears to be no longer functional. The greenery around the remaining fountain is lovely. The former Sears wing was poorly lit despite having an open business located in it. Aside from the Dunham's/Ollie's Bargain Outlet, the only business that seemed to attract any foot traffic was Fresenius Kidney Care Oil City and PA Pride, a CDL Training center. Mall does have one restaurant still open, 2 Cousins Pizza, but it was closed during my visit. My visit to Cranberry Mall could only be described as depressing. Overall, I can't tell you this mall will be here in a year. Cranberry Mall is almost certainly too far gone at this point. With its location, I'm not even sure redevelopment is an option. The situation at the Cranberry Mall is simply sad.

At the same time, another employee positioned an iPhone near where we were standing, which made us feel uncomfortable and singled out. We are both African American, and the behavior of the employees felt prejudiced and unnecessary. We entered the store fully intending to purchase fragrances, but left feeling disappointed and unwilling to spend our hard-earned money in an environment where we felt judged rather than welcomed.

This particular Nordstrom Rack is in The Block Northway shopping center. This Nordstrom Rack has two floors. The top level contains merchandise for men, children, and home, and the bottom level contains merchandise for women. I focused on the women's clothing. I saw an assortment of shirts, pants, shorts, dresses, coats, and other apparel that previous retailers could not sell. I recognized brands such as Calvin Klein and Nike, but I had not previously heard of some of the other brands. I thought that the prices were low to moderate. I decided to purchase a pair of UnionBay shorts for $23. The cashier quickly and correctly rang up my purchase.

He chatted me up to pass the time. Why one star, you ask? Well, the manager KATHY was totally rude to the cashier and I'm tired of her garbage attitude. There was another time I caught her being rude; I digress. So, she comes up to the register and he tells her the problem. She SNIPS AT HIM. " You don't have to have them, you can do it later LIKE I TOLD YOU BEFORE." She was totally unprofessional in front of customers and it made me uncomfortable. I feel that she tried to humiliate this young man, who is just starting to work and get out there. So what if she told him that before. She ought not share her dislike for his performance with customers. Totally inappropriate! And the way she said it was very, very condescending. I can't impress that enough! When I told her that wasn't right for her to include customers she said that she was "sorry" in the most passive agressive way she could muster. Just terrible. I commend the young man for his keeping his composure. As for KATHY, a while ago, she was talking bad about a co-worker up in the front of the store. I do not shop at Rose's that often, so I'm so sure if I have noticed her behavior, then others do too. Maybe they are scared to say something. I am not. I actually tried to call the store just after this happed,to get the number of a District Manager, but GUESS WHAT?? I KEPT GETTING HUNG UP ON! I CAN SHOW THE NUMBER OF TIMES I CALLED ON MY CALLER I.D.! HANG UP, AFTER HANG UP, AFTER HANG UP. THIS STORE AND HOW IT IS RUN NEED TO BE UNDER REVIEW.
