I was at self checkout trying to scan my bananas, and the barcode/produce lookup wasn't working. I set the bananas off to the side so I could ask for assistance, and the employee came over immediately accusing me of trying to skip scanning them. Her attitude was awful and completely unnecessary. What made it even more frustrating is that self checkout literally has video replay, and you could clearly see me trying to scan the bananas and then setting them to the side while I looked around for help. I turned around looking for an employee, didn't see anyone, and left them off to the side for a moment. Another worker eventually came over and apologized for the first employee's attitude, which I appreciated, but the situation should never have escalated like that in the first place. Honestly, every time I go to Walmart there seems to be some kind of issue. Walmart is not my preferred grocery store -- I usually shop at Harmons -- but occasionally I have to stop here, and almost every visit ends with a negative experience where I feel disrespected or treated like I'm doing something wrong. read more

This is the closest Walmart to me so I'll continue to go here but this time I was with my family and we felt like a target. We had Walmart workers following us pretending to do stuff. I wouldn't have thought anything of it if the same people didn't keep following our every move. Even at checkout the attendant was hovering over us. staff are always wonderful, but I have been avoiding this location due to lack of accessibility. I always use a scooter cart and they are awful here. The seats are so uncomfortable its almost painful and cuts off circulation from the raised edge. There are often not enough of them and they dont hold a charge for long enough for shopping. There have been several times now when it slams to a stop in the middle of an aisle leaving me stuck and having to call someone for help. Accessibility is the biggest factor in where I choose to shop and this problem is ensuring disabled people spend their money elsewhere. The Walmart in Sandy is BEAUTIFUL with all its decor and then you walk into this one....whoever runs this location seriously has not done a good job in YEARS. Things are always out of stock. I don't keep receipts anymore bc there is an electronic record of every purchase I make. I bought groceries and put them in a reusable bag like I always do and was stopped when I tried to leave and asked for my receipt. Horrible experience, with tire rotation. Showed up at 7am sharp. Was met at the service bay by David. I said "I am here for a tire rotation."He was very rude by saying in a cross tone " Give me a Minute ". I quietly got back into my vehicle and patiently awaited his return. He mosied about the shop for a few minutes. Then he came up to my pickup door and asked for my name. I gave him my name. Heasked for my phone number. I gavr him my number. He then said "$20.00 for a rotation. I said "This is the first tire rotation and we bought them here." He asked if there is another phone number. I gave him my wifes number. He said "$20.00" He said " Do you want me to get the manager?" I said "Yes get the manager." We then followed him into the store. He comes back with an individual named "Renan". Instead of speaking to me directly he started speaking Spanish to an associate next to him and ignored me, VERY RUDE! He started going through the record. I said "We bought the tires at Walmart. My wife came forward and showed him the receipt of purchase. He ignored her and I said "We are also Walmart plus members so even if we didn't by them at Walmart we get free rotation. He ignored me for a moment and then decided to move forward with rotation. I asked if he was the manager and he said "No" I told him that I was told I would speak to the manager and I didn't ask for it and tiur not the manager? He said I will gs the manager. Then a Gentleman by the name of Jason came up. I told him what was going on and then David stepped up again and started speaking Spanish with Jason. AI said " He was just speaking English to me". That's very rude. David walked off. Jason asked me ifbI want to speak to the manager. I said " Your not the manager?" He said no but I will get him. A short time later "Matt" walked up. I asked him what rule#1 in customer service is. He said he didn't know. I said "Always treat the customer like they are right even if they are not." He said "Well they aren't always right" I said " Of course they aren't but it defusess the situation and in this case I am right.' He smirked and said he will take care of the situation and then walked off. After my tires were rotated He came out to me and started talking about what happened. I said, Look, the problem here is that you have individuals here that don't speak English on the front end. This area is predominantly English speaking. He said Walmart doesn't discriminate like that. I said, " I am not talking about discrimination I talking about serving your customer, I am not saying you can't be of any race but yiu need to speak English." I also said that the individuals attitude is also lacking. He then rudely walked off. While he was walking off I asked him to have his manager call me. He said " He also speaks Spanish so good luck with that." I asked again and he said" you can call the 1800 Walmart. When I got home, I called the store and got Matt again and he said he took care of it. I asked for the name of the individual that I first interfaced with. He said he didn't know. I said well then how do you know tou took care of it? He said, I think it may have been David. I said is that who it was? He said he wasn't sure. I asked again for the store manager to call me. Firstly, they have false advertising multiple time especially on claw machines and keep in mind they rigged the stuff animal claw machine & false advertised when my kid was so happy there was claw machines I told her they are rigged but... it was one dollar so I let her. I need to send a huge shout out to the guys in the service center. I have had my car in for an oil change and another time to have my battery replaced. They did such an awesome job on both and provided fast and friendly service. I tried to give them a cash tip and they politely declined Because they are not able to accept tips. This Walmart is awesome. Love how close it is from our house and really close to my job. Whenever I'd need to buy something, this Walmart is right there for us. There's a lot of things here and a lot of choices. Of course it's a supercenter isn't? We bought our foam bed mattresses here as well have we do love them and they were selling for a good price. Basically a quarter of the price where other vendors are selling theirs for. The workers here are nice for the most part. I'm the type of shopper that does not ask employees where this is or where that is or if a specific flavor is available. I just look for it. There was a couple times where I honestly didn't know where the corn powder was since that is something I normally get since my wife texted me while I was getting off work to pick some up. So then I saw an employee putting food on the shelves and I asked her and I even had a picture and she said I don't know. Needless to say, I spent 20 mins looking for it and ended up finding it too. Good Walmart to shop around. Well recommended. Well it's just like any Walmart I've been too. Except the one in downtown slc where that one kind of feels ghetto. read more

Dorene is an employee who threatened to call the cops on me and a friend when we were just trying to find a power cord. She said "don't be getting rowdy. - we've called the cops on kids before." when me and a friend were just talking. Dorene is a nuisance and I believe that she should not be in the service industry, as her presence is unwelcoming and intimidating. I will no longer be shopping at this establishment as long as Dorene is employed, which I'm sure will not be long if she continues this behavior. read more

The parking lot is just a mess when it comes getting out of it at the 13400 S intersection. All parking aisles just kind of converge at this one spot where not all directions have a stop sign and that is in top of bad driving. My negative experience here was also in the parking lot. I got into my car and a teen employee parked the line of shopping carts behind my car. This would not have bothered me if he was getting carts out of the stall, but he was talking to another employee the next parking aisle over. I got out of the car and signaled to him and he saw that I was trying to back out. He then turned back to his conversation! I had to lay my hand in the horn just to get his attention again and he just rolls his eyes and pushes the remote button to give me only just enough clearance. What poor service. read more

The most respectful employee was working the self-checkout line today. I've seen Leo a handful of times while shopping at this wonderful Walmart location and he is always so punctual and helpful. I am really disappointed by the horrible customer service I continually receive. I would not recommend getting orders delivered, ever! I order from the Riverton Walmart and they continually screw up and deliver my order to the wrong house. To make things even worse, their drivers will not answer their phones and customer service will only refund you and tell you to reorder. Bigger problem, they are continually out of stock which makes it impossible to reorder what you need. Don't bother calling in because all they will tell you is that they can't help. Doesn't help when you have theifs for neighbors who won't return your groceries to you either!!!! read more

It's Wal-Mart. You know, that place that everyone goes eventually if you haven't been good in this world. But for where I live in Riverton, grocery stores do not come a dime a dozen, you've got Harmon's, you've got Wal-Mart, I'm a patron of both. Now getting there if you are coming down 3600 W can take some due to the intersection with 13400 South. I swear it is the slowest traffic light in the whole of Salt Lake County. You can sit there long enough at times that you could translate all 972 texts of the Dead Sea Scrolls before it changes to green. I have to be honest, this is pretty good store. It has a good grocery section with a very wide selection. I'm not a big fan of Wal-Mart produce, though I will admit you can actually find some fairly decent meat here. As far as packaged products go though, there's really no where that can beat Wal-Mart prices in Riverton. Other departments in the store are pretty much what you would expect, nothing special, but adequate all the same with good selection. I try to avoid this store on Saturday's, it's just too busy, and I am not one who enjoys waiting in checkout lines. For the most part service is pretty reasonable and helpful here, like most places these days, it's luck of the draw. read more

This is 'our' Walmart because it's close, but for the last time. I understand all the Covid restrictions and abide by them, but when they completely closed one entrance and changed it to an 'emergency exit only', it just made social distancing impossible. Now all the cars are parked on one end, you walk in and have to make your way through long, tight lines of people waiting to self- checkout as there are only a couple of cashiers (it's been that way a long time), and that's just to get in! Then when your shopping is done, you get to join the crowds of people in line. And as we're all going in and out the same doors, we're closer than ever. What's up with that, Walmart?!? read more

I went to this Walmart for the first time today. It's by my new job, and so I went in to get some Zicam. The parking lot and inside the store were both clean. I walked in, got the Zicam, and checked out. The cashier was polite. I got cashback, and everything went well. I saw a bunch of angry one-star reviews and decided to write a review with my experience. I didn't interface with customer service or cell people in electronics, which appear to be the majority of the negative reviews. If those areas need improvement, hopefully, they'll read the reviews and make changes, but the rest of the store worked great, and that's what I'm reviewing. read more

Disgusting bathrooms! Me and another customer both told employees that the bathroom needed attention and nothing got done. There was poo, a dirty diaper and toilet paper all over the stall. As I was in there a little boy was yelling to his dad that there was no toilet paper. I get that its a Walmart but basic cleanliness would be nice. You know the sloth at the DMV in Zootopia? That's literally what the customer service is like at this location. There were two people in front of me in line and only one incompetent lady working the desk and it took her 30 minutes to return their items. I had to get a tax exempt card for work but the lady didn't know how to do it. She asked me to step aside while she called someone over. 20 minutes later a grumpy old man took my form and then spent another 20 minutes typing on his computer using two fingers. What should have taken no more than 15 minutes took over an hour. Spare yourself the time and drive an extra 10 minutes to a different location. read more

This store is currently doing nothing to protect its employees or customers during the pandemic. There is no plexiglass at any register; nor are there any 6 feet taped intervals for social distancing at the registers. The self-checkout cubicles are full. They should limit the number of self-checkout registers to help maintain the 6-foot spacing requirement. I spoke with 2 employees who stated that they need the job; however, they feel very unsafe in the working conditions. They have told their family and friends to stay away from the store. Walmart should be embarrassed at this travesty. It's a time when our grocery clerks need to be protected so stores can be open. Step-up Walmart and do your part! read more

Open all night the night before my nieces big day. There is a Walmart on every corner in Utah. People enjoy shopping here. It's a convenient, no frill store that has cheap Chinese goods. It saved our live when we needed an extra suitcase. We ran into the store and were in and out in minutes. I find the check out lines to be very long and one has time to check out the trade rags. It's just standing in line with all the interesting people that becomes a challenge. Smiling works wonders and Utah people are very nice. read more

This Walmart is always clean. Well organized. The staff are friendly and helpful when available. Most importantly, they're always willing to resolve complaints and replace bad merchandise with little hassle, even without a receipt. To Yelp reviewers- While I'm not a fan of all Walmart policies, this is not a forum to dole out ridiculously sharp criticism over proverbially "spilt milk" this is a very large store and it handles a proportionate amount of operational and service problems, but over all this location is managed well and they should be recognized for that. Try not to be so harsh and be considerate of the business overall rather than one single negative aspect. How would you score as an employee of you were only rated based on your worst performances. This is the worst Walmart I've ever shopped at. It's one of the largest, yet has less variety than any I've been to. Workers are always crowding the aisles during peak hours. The layout is baffling, and yet there's so many BASIC things they run out of. Case in point, today, wanted some limes. Basic need, right? Couldn't find any. Asked a worker, couldn't find any. He pulled the whole crew, nothing. Out of stock. Ridiculous. Got lemons instead, went to check out, receipt only half printed out. No biggie. Trashed it. Went to leave. GOT ASKED FOR A RECEIPT. On less than $10 of items. Is this Costco? So I dug our the half printed receipt as proof I wasn't stealing lemons. Whoever runs this Walmart, you need to make some improvements. read more
