First I want to give a huge shoutout to Cynthia our cashier. She was friendly and chatty and even talked Saturday cartoons with us. Probably the best service we had along with the lady that helped us back in the seafood dept. she is always nice and accommodating with helping us pick out shrimp for our Swe mai dumplings and shrimp toast I wanted to make. Pictures below (turned out phenomenal). The store itself is a Lucky store. It is clean and well stocked. The produce fresh and plentiful. The bakery has the best rolls in bulk which is awesome. It's just the two of us so it is nice to buy just a couple rolls versus a whole package that might go bad. The store near my house opens way to late at 8 am and closes way to early at 10 pm. Plus the customer service throughout the we hole store is very pour and needs improvement!!! I definitely do not recommend them at all. read more

Welllll... this is a case of mixed feelings, for sure. There are some real positives and real negatives and I land right in the middle on this one. As with most grocery stores, they have their specialties, so I think if you stick to those things, you'll probably be totally enamored with them. If you wander outside of those things, you're going to get frustrated fast. I'll get into specifics below. First, though, this is a new(ish) store and their M.O. is low prices. They didn't waste money on decor, they didn't waste money on signage, or great shelving. It's bare bones warehouse feeling, where you bag your own groceries. That said, it was really clean when I was there, and very very tidy and organized. I can't stand these massive carts. Seriously, some folks might really appreciate the size, but the aisles aren't always real wide and two *barely* fit past each other. I looked for a handbasket but saw none at the entrance. They really want you to stock up, apparently, but as I mentioned, there are some things I'd buy here and others that I'd avoid. Here are the specifics: They carry a ton of items that I've seen at Latin markets around town, lots of imported goods from Mexico and/or Latin America. A large array of harder to find produce (nopales, yuca, papaya, taro), dry beans, canned goods, and speciality harina, azucar like piloncillo, and so on. This is a huge hit, as it was all in really good shape and I lit up with possibilities. The produce area was tidy, and even easy-to-find fruits and veggies were competitively priced, with some door busting items. I didn't cruise the bakery much, but here again you get some standards like French bread, and then some more localized tortas, panes, and so on. The meat department is what really turned me off. Now, there are some totally A-OK things here; I went for the pre-packed, pre-bagged pork shoulders and those looked fine to me. But some of the cuts of meat varied wildly--there was a bin of ribeyes on sale, for example--and some were marbled okay while others were not. Some were thick, some thin, and most disturbingly, some were browned, some were white, and some had fat with a very strange orange-yellow color that I've never seen on beef my whole life. I mean, they have killer prices but I think I've read too many books about where meat comes from and it makes me really go after the higher-end, grass-fed, hippy-dippy stuff that they just don't carry here. The cheeses were inexpensive, and I do like the Darigold and Lucerne brands that are harder to find in Utah, but the variety was very slim pickins unless you want big blocks of cheddar or big bags of the shredded stuff. The center of the store, the aisles, had a lot of familiar faces, but a lot of house brand or lower end stuff that you don't see everywhere. Like, I'm sure the "Value Corner" ketchup and mustard are just fine, and at eighty-eight cents you can't expect delicacies, so on the one hand I'm sure it's really nice if you're on a tight budget; on the other, it's not for everyone. All in all, I really loved some of the selections, and found other brand and item stocks wanting. I'll go back for those hard to find things, or to cruise deals every so often, but it's a little hit-or-miss to be a weekly mainstay. read more

Whoa! A mini WinCo, aka Lucky Grocery, right in our back yard! This place isn't as big as Winco, but that's okay, because then you're able to get in and out, with ease. Their selection is huge! From the produce to spices, cheeses, meats, drinks, alcohol and more! More meaning even piñatas to cactus leaves! Their international selections are especially great too! Make sure to BYOB (bring your own bags) because they're only having the available plastic bags, for the opening and until they run out! Booooo! That seems to be their only downside that I noticed. So far, their nice, clean and fresh selections can't be beat! read more

Lucky's bakery department is #1 place for ordering cupcakes! (This order was made the week of Oct 14th...I have meant to review them and forgot) Right as I dropped my daughter off at daycare in the morning, the director asked if I was bringing cupcakes for the class....oops. Before going further I did not forget my child's birthday!! The center planned to celebrate it a few days and forgot about that. WellAs soon as I got into work, I called Lucky's bakery around 8:30am. Would it be possible to make a very last minute, same day order of 36 cupcakes to bring for my daughters daycare class? Yes!!! I was very grateful Lucky's West Jordan could get it done and have the order ready by 11:30am, same day! Chocolate and vanilla flavors with an assortment of rainbow colored frosting. I got Lucky with this one and my daughter and classmate got to enjoy cupcakes. Price is $9.99 for 24 cupcakes which I've been told is a very good price for cupcake orders. There is a new place in town that beats all other competitors prices! Lucky is the first grocery store (that I know of) here in Utah and I'm loving everything it has to offer! Prices are a mix between Walmart & Wincos, but with fresher produce and meats! They always have great deals going on and the store brand is good quality this far. If you like Mexican food the carne assada from the meat counter is delicious! Employees are also very friendly and the store is clean! read more

Came here for the first time and I bought quite a lot of stuffs and I never had it where I have to pack it on my own for the amount of items I bought! I felt pressured bagging it and no one offered to help while the cashier continued to scan the person behind me. read more

Oh boy, where do I start. First of all the place is full of all types of brands of products. So many sales it was hard for me to keep up with the place. So dissected each place aisle by aisle and walked every inch to make sure I didn't miss anything. Water was on sale at a ridiculously low price, you could come with a uhaul and fill it up with how low the price was. As soon as we walked in greeted by the nice workers there. So many sales and we just came to see and down a few bucks. They have everything you can ask for under their roof. The chicken specials were unbelievably so good. Who can resist. Chicken seasoned well and sweet plantains to go with them, and 4 Hawaiian rolls for around 10 bucks. Cold cuts, different brands, that I tried a few and really liked them. Bakery was giving out fresh tortillas, so good and hot. There breads were fresh and plentiful. They had some store made pork rinds that made a good snack as we walked around. Found some ice cream that I never heard of and it's actually better than some of the quality ones we spend big bucks on. Did I mention they had cupcakes and cakes galore. The fruits were fresh and beautiful. Anything that you can get at other food places they have. Did I mention so many items on sale. It was unbelievably good. Also, they have a Redbox by the checkout counters. Overall, felt like I was back east shopping at the local Bodega or supermarket. read more

Grand Opening day was a hit. Super busy, lots of variety, and customer service on point. This is just like a smaller Winco without the huge bulk section. I'm was impressed by the bulk in beans, rice, and dried peppers also the variety of fresh meat and types of cheese. Ill be coming back after the hype ends to see how well customer service and products are. read more

Way too much hype for this place. I walked in and it reminded me of walking into a Winco and/or a Food4Less. (I'm sure, they're related somehow.) As I walked through the layout was the same. First impression was that's great, sale items are flagged with bright yellow tags so you could see them. But as I continued through the store I noticed each aisle was shorter than a Winco/F4L therefore less products they carry. I came with a list of 10-12 items. I was only able to find 4 of the brands/items I used. I asked a store person, and their answer was, "I'm not sure" and left me at that. Really? Do I have to follow up with a, "can you check?" So without all of my items, this made me have to make another trip to pick up what they don't have. SMH. Yes, they have cheap priced goods. But unless you're willing to shop multiple stores, don't bother. They just opened, and have associates not willing to help find what you need. I will not come again. I'll stick to the my Smith's. I just want to comment about previous review from another patron. If the meat is raw health department does not require gloving. Hands should be washed prior to and after handling raw meat. And yes can go from beef to chicken as long as raw. However deli meats should always wear gloves. Believe me I inquired when I saw Schneider's Meats (high end meat store) not wearing gloves to package raw meat. Lucky does have some good sales on produce but personally I like Winco better. Somebody said I had to try Luckys for cheap groceries. So I stopped by to see what the hype was about. It's laid out really close to the same as a Winco. The produce was okay. But quite frankly, the meat department was a bit scary. As far as regular name brand items it's comparable in price to Walmart. Long story short, I'm sticking with Harmons, especially for my produce, and meat, and deli stuff. read more

Went here because of their ad - but won't go back due to their lack of customer service! I spent 45 minutes shopping for Thanksgiving dinner. Went to get the turkey (free when you spend $100 or .48 lb if you spend $25 - in their ad) and was told they were out. As the cashier rang up my groceries, he told me they would probably give me a rain check. Then a guy came up and told us "NO RAIN CHECKS WOULD BE GIVEN BECAUSE THEY WOULD GET MORE TURKEYS TOMORROW." I asked this guy how would I get the deal on the turkey then because I didn't plan to come back tomorrow and spend another $100. He didn't know the answer. He actually refused to do anything about the issue! I stopped bagging my groceries then and said I guess I will have to go buy my groceries at Smiths. Still- no offer to make it right. The cashier did offer to put my groceries back which was really helpful! I can understand if they ran out of turkeys - but to not take care of the customer and honor their ad is unbelievable!
