This large SuperWalmart is kind of hard to find....it's like in the back of the main strip mall that you can see from the main road. Anyway, we stopped here to get a few things and when I walked in, I asked where were the avocados??? and a guy said, I am sorry we are out of avocados (this was like 9:30am).... I went to get some diet ginger ale and again, they did not have any... Maybe it was bad luck, but wanting to get two things and the store being out of those two things is not a good way to experience shopping at a Super Walmart..... It may not be fair for me to be writing a review for Walmart Supercenter when I particularly went to this location for a bakery pick up for some custom cupcakes. I went to this particular Walmart location because it was close a venue for a party I was hosting. I needed cupcakes and there were literally across the street . In my head I was thinking how convenient!! Well convenience doesn't always mean, better.... We arrived at the bakery at 3:00 to a custom order that was going to be ready between 2&3. I even got the text and email confirming they were ready to be picked up at 1:45. We waited there for 20 minutes! That's right 2-0 minutes, when we were supposed to be at the party venue at 315! There wasn't an associate in the bakery... that's fine I understand people need to step away. It was more the lack of communication that bothered me. We didn't see anyone at the bakery so I found an associate on the floor to see if they can help me find someone for the bakery. He said sure... walked away, never came back. We waited another 10 minutes, and found ANOTHER rep and same thing... So here we are wondering is someone coming? No one ever came back and told us, hey someone is on the way. If they did, this review could have gone another way. Finally someone came 20 minutes later and assisted us. We got to the party location late. As far as value, the cupcake pricing was pretty fair. We got 36 cupcakes total for maybe a little over $20. The decorations were perI thought they tasted decent, but not decent enough to get a second one. The bottom of the cupcake I had was a little tough. Also, I felt there was an interesting after taste. I added some photos of the cupcakes to share the design. THIS WALMART'S BAKERY IS EXCELLENT !!! I ordered a birthday cake for my son and was able to customize it , which made it extra special! I felt the price was very reasonable, too. The manager was extremely helpful and made the process QUICK and EASY. I was thrilled with the result! The cake was BEAUTIFUL and exactly how I envisioned it. Thankfully, I do not usually shop Walmart unless I cannot find what I am looking for elsewhere. If I had to pick a Walmart that I didn't hate, I guess it would be this one. This store has gone so far downhill that they might as well just close it. It hasn't been cleaned since pre Covid. The employees are rude af and good luck finding what you need. Store security is supposed to be plainclothes but it's the old lady who used to be at self scan. She was friendly then. Now she's rude. Felt like throwing a can at her but had too much to do to get arrested for elderly abuse: Managed to get some stuff. Most was out of stock. Bath powder was too far back in the shelf and I couldn't reach. No employees in sight. Add that to my Target list. I won't risk trying to reach something since I did that once and pulled a muscle and ended up at urgent care. Grocery side is stocked okay until I got to the freezer. 75% empty. I've never seen it that bad. I only needed waffles. Couldn't reach. No employees as usual but managed to knock them down with another box. Done. Self scan. Time to fight with the bags. Stuck together as usual. They're smaller too. I can tell by how stuff fits. New low Walmart: ring up and pay. 150. Cheap trip. Guy at door checking receipts is dirty like the store. Hand him mine and kept walking. Don't want it back. Disgusted by now. Also on a side note. I used to like this store. Before the employees were rude. And before I found out they were the reason Swansea Mall closed. Todays trip was their second chance. They lost. Won't be going there again. I order every week almost $400 worth of food. They sent me the wrong cream cheese (we have a dairy allergy) and they put my 23 year old daughter a half hour of questioning to return to get the df one. Shame on your customer service, $400 will find a new grocery store. read more

My rating is based on my experience with grocery pickup. I had Walmart+ and had my first pickup order canceled the week of Thanksgiving. The Manager called me back and assured me it would never happen again. I waited a few weeks and placed another order in December 2020. That was also cancelled. When I called the store and spoke to the pickup department, they told me that they weren't doing any pick ups. My friend also had a pick up an hour after mine and hers did not get canceled. They also managed to charge me for it and mark it that I had picked it up.I guess I didn't learn my lesson the first two times, so shame on me, but my order today that I was supposed to be picked up at 8 AM was canceled again at 7:45. I called the store and no one answered. I called customer service and after an hour and a half they gave me my money back. Very bad service, customer support is also very bad, not customer centric at all. I've learned my lesson. Just scheduled a pickup at Stop & Shop for tonight. read more

As much as I don't like the evil empire that is WalMart, I do shop there. When I heard that a Walmart SuperCenter would be opening in my town I figured I would be a regular shopper there instead of frequenting the Seekonk and Raynham locations. I visited this location for the first time and I was definitely underwhelmed. While I realize that WalMart is a discount store, the feel of this store screams discount more than some of their other locations. There are poorly done cement-like floors and a super high ceiling. I felt like I was shopping in a giant warehouse. Don't get me wrong, this store is massive, the biggest WalMart I've ever been in and the prices on everyday items are lower than other stores. All departments are expanded compared to a regular WalMart and even the grocery areas are larger than other SuperCenters I've been to. The employees were all friendly, all gazillion of them that were working today. I would expect there to be enormous layoffs at this location after Christmas. All in all I wasn't wowed and I think I will continue to shop at the Seekonk and Raynham locations. read more

So I ordered my groceries online and received a 6 to 7 pickup time. I arrived at 615pm. Checked in my order came out at 715pm. The kid working was very nice. However he explained that due to Covid exposure employees who were supposed to work called out, and he was by himself. You have to drive through a mine field of potholes to get there. The Swansea Mall closed soon after Wal-Mart built its own separate building so nobody maintains the roads that lead to this store. HEED THIS WARNING! These potholes are huge and abundant and will knock your front end out of whack. If you navigate the mine field you will find a poorly stocked store with empty shelves everywhere and this was long before covid 19. It's a dump. read more

Well, it's Walmart, which really says enough. Lol. It usually still pretty cheap which is always a plus. If you go in the evening, they are often cleaned out which can be frustrating, since the other option is going when it's a madhouse. Honestly I hate to shop at Walmart. Big store, bad corporate reputation, nightmare parking lot, sometimes clueless or, most likely poorly trained associates... I go when I am despite. Tonght was one of those nights. I was looking for 2 specific items. (mouse traps and stick matches) I,couldn't find either, asked and was given bad advice by an associate. eventually found another associate, KATIE, who I realized was ON break. Respecting her time, I started to walkaway. Then she said...." but I can help you." She directed me and even walked with me to one item and gave me the exact location of the other. the 5 stars I am giving this walmart has nothing to do with the store. You ever get that "good lord WTH am I doing here" feeling as your walking up to a business? Well if you do, I can SO relate! This is the feeling I get every time I am forced to come to this particular Walmart. I usually travel to the super Walmart in Raynham, but with Swansea only about 15 minutes from me, Raynham isn't always a practical and convenient option for me. First off, you gotta love Walmart greeters. They have one sole purpose while on the clock..one whole responsibility. To greet customers when they walk in and to thank them for shopping there as you exit. Well I think that upper management needs to take a look at their training model, well at least for this store for the "greeter position." I'm telling you every time I come here, I say to myself, I wonder what kind of pathetic greeting I will get this time, that is, if I get a verbal greeting at all. Perhaps the greeters at this Walmart are mutants and they are telekinetic. Maybe they are talking to me with their mind and, well I have no super powers so I can't hear their funny little voices in my head. I know that sounds far fetched, so I am inclined to believe that greeting customers is not part of the job description. But sometimes, you will get a "welcome to Walmart" in the most miserable, depressing tone I have ever heard. You know they are really saying "welcome to Walmart. Get your f'n $hit and get out!" Come on, you know that's what you really hear them saying. Wow I just wrote a whole paragraph on the greeters lack of being able to property greet customers. Anyways, this Walmart is pretty morbid. They never seem to keep their shelves stocked well, the atmosphere screams "can we make your shopping experience any more depressing?" and the employees are really not that pleasant to deal with. The parking lot, much like the rest of the Swansea Mall parking lot is like driving through an obstacle course of pot holes. I didn't even want to take any pictures of this place for Yelp because quite frankly, I don't want to subject my fellow yelpers to this utter disgrace of sloppiness. It's confusing to everyone (even the employees) that this store has two doors. If you really think about it, most Walmarts you have been to have one door. This is also an interesting store in the sense it has a deli, bakery and meats section. It's more of a regular supermarket than other Walmarts. They only have a Subway here, no dunkin' donuts. It is however, still a Walmart. And I still hate Walmarts. But if I had to rate this one against other Walmarts, this one would rate higher for the sheer size and the parking lot is pretty ok. If I could give zero stars I would. Do not order for pick up to this location. I just spoke with Walmart.com and the guy at the store does not know the policies. He refunded my entire order without letting me know (they are supposed to call you or notify you before they do anything) and it wasn't even supposed to be refunded. Then he wouldn't let me pick up the items which Walmart.com said I could. The guy clearly doesn't know what he's doing. I am no longer shopping at this store or doing any online picking up from this store. Now I can't even get some of the items that I ordered! Beware! read more

This new Walmart seems nice, new and neat and the staff was friendly on my first visit. Compared to other Super Walmart Center the interior layout was the same. The access is quite different. Because the building has no road frontage one must travel behind a large mall in decline and park on an angel in at least the first row of parking spaces. No problem for people familiar with the area. Still I does every Walmart have to be a super center.? I miss the older smaller Walmart attached to the Swansea Mall . The store was more compact and neater and cleaner than the Walmarts in my area. The store had mall access which also made this store unique. Other complained the old location was not well stocked but the music and electronic department was always stocked. When Walmart was attached to the mall I could easily compare prices with other mall stores too. With the next door mall half empty with an empty anchor one wonders why Walmart and mall mgmt did not work together to build the super center attached to the mall either at the previous Walmart location or at the former Apex location. read more

I do not understand how online orders are so difficult that each and every goshed darned time is worth thirty minutes!! Walmart Swansea Mall Eye Center: Hossible customer service!!!! I went in to my apt a couple minutes early so as to get my toddler situated. I had just bought her a toy at Walmart to keep her busy. It had the theme song to frozen and wasn't loud and she was happy and content. One for he associates walked by and said, "wow that's going to get annoying for the next hours." I'm sorry what???? I handed her back her clipboard and said I'm good. She looked at me confused and I said your rude and I'm leaving. Not even five minutes later the owner calls me. I assumed she was calling to apologize...nope I was wrong... she barated me about missing my appointment. I informed her I didn't miss my appointment and told her what happened. She said," oh yeah she told me she wasn't rude to you so.." I informed her that she was rude and proceeded to tell her how their customer service skills were less to be desired. Now this is the "owner" said, "Are you done now? Because your harassing me." What planet does this lady live on? I called the management office at Walmart and they informed me someone else had complained just minutes prior about having an issue with their professionalism. So this must be their norm. We only have a dinkly little Walmart where I live (Newport). This place is huge, the employees are so friendly and helpful. You don't have to seek out employees to ask for help. At my Walmart they practically hide if they see anybody coming that looks like they might ask a question, and if you do, you'll get a "Wait a minute let me get someone for you who works in this department.
