This Walmart is ridiculous. It's the people that work here who truly seem to hate working in customer service and it shows. I've maybe visited this location 3 times and 2 out of 3 different occasions I've had such rude experiences. First rude encounter was in the self check out area. First off, I always go to the self check outs at whichever store I go to because I feel bad having someone ring my stuff up when I'm capable to do so myself. There's maybe 8 stations and all lights were off aside from 3 that had lights on and customers at them. While waiting my turn and the employee working in the check out station standing there looking at me while I'm waiting for a station to become free. There starts to build a line of a few people behind me. It is then when he chose to point at a station that has its lights off without saying anything. (Am I to assume that they're all open? Why aren't the lights on? Can he not open his mouth and verbally say please go to so and so number?) he waited till a line formed behind me before pointing. First off.. I've worked in customer service in high school and I get it you deal with different personalities and so forth. But there's no excuse to not do your job. If you don't like people or are not willing to help people out. Quit! We don't come into stores for an attitude when we didn't fill out your job application. 2nd encounter Yesterday, went to a person in the (less than 15 item lane) my friend was in the front of me. She maybe had 6 items. Asked if she could check a price for 1 thing and this older lady/employee Kathleen from the start had an attitude. When my friend said she'd pass on 1 item. The lady threw it on the Floor and had such a rude vibe. For the first incident, I waited for a manager because I was so irritated or how the employee acted. And the manager I received her self didn't even seem to care. Her response to what I had told her just happened was "well I wasn't there. So, idk what happened." Really?! No s*** you wasn't there. If you were, why would I be explaining the situation??! As stated before.. I've worked customer service- fast food/retail when I was younger. I know, remember the different type of people you deal with. But I never took out my personal feelings of disliking where I worked or how much little I made on people. I walked up to the self-checkout area and got in line, as I was approaching the wide open self-checkout register, a Walmart associate mumbled something to me. I replied, "what?" He responded, "you can't use self-checkout with more than 10 items." To which I responded loudly, "so you make your paying customers wait it LONG check-out lines when you have self-service checkout lane(s) wide open?!" His response, "I just do what they tell me." So I then walked over to one of the 3 checkout lanes open and waited in line while the person in front of me had trouble with their credit card transaction getting approved...15 minutes later, I was finally checked out. But wait, I then had to stop at the door so they could check my receipt as if I was a criminal. Seems like I should start shopping at Winco too. Assholes. They refuse to ever answer the phone 99% of the time. And when they do they'll hang up on you as soon as you finish talking. Gross behavior and not deserving of a job and a paycheck. What the hell is wrong with people? I was always very polite on the phone, concise and asked reasonable easy requests of them. Worst customer service ever but I'm getting the same experience with most other chains like Walgreens and any other store too. They need to start recording the phone calls because nobody is doing their job. You shouldn't be allowed to collect a paycheck and not do half your job which is answering the phone and assisting the people on the call. I just wanted to check if they had Sea Bands in stock like their website claims because it's often wrong and I have to pay an expensive Uber to get out there and don't want to waste my time and money by going if they don't have the product. The pharmacy section is one of the smaller and easier places to look for an item so I wasn't even asking something that hard. If you're not gonna do your job, fucking quit and get the fuck out of the way so someone else can take your job and ACTUALLY DO SOME WORK! Why am I working my ass off at every job I've had to earn my check when there's assholes out here doing nothing at all and being payed?! Im so fucking done with all of this! Do not use the convenience of ordering groceries online. The first time I did I paid for delivery and all of my groceries should up smelling like marijuana. So I decided to order online for convenience and this time do curbside to prevent the marijuana smell. My order was suppose to be available for pick up between 4 and 5. At 4:01 I was notified it would not be ready. Just b fore 5 I was notified it was ready for pick up. It is now 545 and I have been sitting here since 5 PM and no end in sight of even getting my order before I have to be somewhere at 7. I now have an extremely hungry child and a migraine and still have to make dinner after they decide to finally bring my groceries out. This is a damn joke. If I didn't need the groceries tonight we would be cancelling our order. Will not shop here again That includes for any reason. Only thing this store is good for is to use their bathroom. read more

A string of 10 Walmart carts rolled out of a cart holder where they were not secure because of the design of the Walmart cart holder and also because of how the holder is situated, rolled downhill in to my car and damaged my car. The design of that particular cart holder on a hill with no lip or block to hold Walmart carts that are placed in Walmart's cart holder, is absolutely in Walmart's control. I have spent $500 out of pocket for something that is most definitely Walmart's negligence. There was little to no response when I reached out to Walmart about the issue. They take no accountability and are able to just ignore until I go away. I'm just a little fish, but they won't be getting any more of my money. The only control I have is to spend elsewhere. The store handled it poorly and then corporate just backed up the store's poor response and inaction. Not impressed and definitely not a fan of this store or any Walmart. read more

Thoroughly irritated. Placed an online order for pickup, because it was advertised that it would be a shorter wait time as opposed to the few days it would take to ship. I have a deadline to meet and was hoping that it would be quick and easy. Place the order and it takes over a week to fill?! That's outrageous, considering I could have had it shipped faster. Then to add insult, they shipped it anyways the day of pick up!!! The headache and the frustration. Should have just shipped it to begin with. Obnoxious. Nobody knew what was happening and couldn't find my order multiple times. Online ordering needs some organizing. I don't mind paying the shipping, as long as that was what I asked for. Really crummy experience. To pick up some photo prints, I had to go to three stations and deal with a couple of sullen employees. The photo department desk was closed with a sign pointing to the Electronics department. Except they really meant Entertainment. The person at the desk there was too busy texting to help me. Then a guy came to the desk, and instead of "How can I help you?" asked "What's up" or something equally flip. He didn't know much about the department he was covering. This was my first experience there and I probably won't bother going back for a long time. read more

After waiting in the notorious 45 minute line, behind somebody who no kidding was buying 45 pairs of shoes, I was trying to lift up the cat litter for Shirley to scan it and apparently wasn't doing it right because she kept yelling' turn it to the back!! Even though this is one of the smaller locations as far as variety of merchandise is concerned which on that makes it a four star, two employees there in particular made my visit a 5 star visit. Those employees named Francine and Brandon each went above and beyond to help me and even offered to make me something I was looking for. Their friendliness, and knowledge on merchandise is amazing. I acknowledged them to the manager and I will be completing a survey from the back of my receipt to acknowledge them on a larger scale. read more

Horrible experience at Walmart. I was looking to shop with my service dog which is certified by a licensed therapist and I have the document certifying him and the front person at Walmart did not accommodate me and my service animal. I was looking to get a few groceries but I was let go in an extremely rude way by the Walmart employee and I will never be returning here ever again. Number one that Is highly against the law to deny someone with a certified service animal, number two he rudely kicked me out and questioned my service animal and I was shocked by the incident. I suffer from severe anxiety and depression and this dog helps me tremendously get through day to day life and I'm almost never able to go out into public without him. I am extremely upset and will avoiding this Walmart in the future. read more

Purchased an expensive small electronic online. While waiting 3 weeks for it to arrive, I decided I didn't really need it and wanted to return it. The return instructions that came with the item and through email told me it was easy, just go to the store with the item, the packaging it came in, and have a return barcode scanned. Today, I made a special trip to Walmart (it isn't convenient, hence the shopping online). I had everything I needed to return it and was informed by their customer service that I had to mail it back and could not return it to the store. I showed her the email and she replied "I don't know why they tell people that, because we can't accept returns for online purchases." And as the "first to review" I feel an obligation to bring their deficiencies to their attention. 16 cashier stations and TWO are open. I'd go to the self checkout but I have produce and fruit that have to be weighed. I have a 50/50 chance...I lost. As a bonus for picking the wrong line with the screaming child meltdown, I mistakenly tried my WALMART credit card as they've begged and bribed me until I relented. 'DECLINED, Voided credit card transaction...." Cashier: "It's not you. This reader's been doing this all day. try it again". "Denied, Voided credit card transaction..." Cashier: "Give me your card and I can enter it back here." Me: "There are 14 other cash registers stations with card readers that WORK, but you stay at THIS one"? Walmart hires as many economically disadvantage folks as they can. Many of them are receiving welfare benefits of one kind or the other. Walmart gets a tax credit/deduction for each one they hire. I used to work with these people when I was with San Diego County and the State of Oregon. Most of them are low I.Q. and low post-high school education. They are- not qualified to do anything else but low skill-level work. They find their niche at Walmart scanning bar codes and stocking shelves. I could condition a Chimpanzee to do that. Like Chimps., they are not good communicators. They easily get their feelings hurt, rally their coworkers, and verbally attack customers. That happened to me at 7:20 a.m. on 8/21/20 at the Sherwood Walmart store. I had to leave my items on the belt and go to another store to buy the same things. Warning! read more

Come to this Walmart almost daily as it's close to my house. Just overheard one of the night "assistant managers" harass a customer because the guy wanted something off of a pallet. If you don't want customers to ask for items then don't put em on the floor while you're still open! I understand logistics of this but this manager was going off on the poor guy saying he's banned from all Walmarts now and yadda yadda. This store would have gotten a five from me all the way up until this happened. I've never had a problem at any location if I ask for an item off of a stocking pallet. So disappointing to go into Tigard Walmart yesterday and first off having two large men out front trying to get my attention so I can buy something from them very sad. Also once I went in the store and got what I needed that is not carried at the Sherwood store there was only one checker that was open. She was very sweet and considering the three people in front of me with large baskets of items she was very calm and nice. It's a shame that that store thinks that everyone is going to go to self check out that's not my job !! If it wasn't for the one item that my Sherwood Oregon doesn't carry I would never go back in the Tigard Walmart again! Next time I will do a driveup pickup. read more

Do NOT order delivery from this location. Every single time I order they ignore my substitution requests and substitute an item that is always more expensive! Plus this Walmart is NEVER stocked. This Walmart is definitely bigger than the other Walmart but again it is a supercenter. So we came here to find swimming googles. Unfortunately they were out. Maybe bigger doesn't mean they always have everything. Like all other Walmart don't expect too much service because that's not how it works, if you want cheap price. I ordered photos for the little girl I nanny, and I was met with wonderful customer service! I expected, in and out, pretty basic. Well, when I submitted my photos, my girlfriend pointed out a black border around them (comes from screen shotting your phone). I didn't have the originals, so they had to do! The lovely lady, hair longer than her shoulders, at the photo center, brought me the photos and said she noticed the border, and FIXED them. She had the originals and the fixed version in case I didn't like them, and I was so thrilled! Her thoughtfulness and cheery demeanor was a great start to my day. And, I know these photos will be a bigger hit now that they're sized correctly! Thank you so much, I wish I had gotten your name. Ya seen one Walmart, you've seen them all. Right? Wrong. This one is bigger, and shinier and has the nicest customer service people. 6 months it's been open and there are never lines. That makes me think that people just haven't discovered it yet. That or they just have so many registers open and so many self-serve registers to use that it seems that way. My favorite thing about this store is the recycle center. It is indoors and always spotless. The machines are new, so they don't get jammed up as much as if you go to another grocery store with older ones. Also, because they keep it so clean, bees don't find their way in - like they do at the grocery store down the street. No, I'm not allergic, but I am a huge scaredy cat, so this store is a blessing, because I never again will have to run away screaming; leaving my cart of bottles and cans behind because bees have infiltrated my cart. read more

This is not a sentence I ever thought I would read: This visit to this Walmart restored my faith in humanity. I have not been to Walmarts frequently, and mostly for work, and mostly had ghastly experiences. This visit was early evening on a Saturday. First, I have no idea where anything is, and the purpose of the trip was cat litter, because I know they have a cheap brand of silica litter with an adorable label and name ("Mimi Litter," with photos of two little cats and a font looking like 1990s Italic Kokoro Minchotai or something). So i asked the first worker I saw, who was stocking some completely unrelated item in the furthest part of the store away from where the litter was -- and dude knew exactly where to send me! THEN! I am under 5 feet by a few, so to grab the Mimi Litter with the adorable kittens and even adorabler font, which was by now set back from the front as other people had availed themselves of this bargain, I had to stand on the bottom, hold onto one of the upper shelves, and try to get my stupidly-little arm far enough into the top shelf to grab the stuff. Nice middle-aged white lady asked if I wanted her to grab it, but by then I already had moved the three bags to the front, where I could now grab them just by standing on the bottom shelf, so I said, no, thank you so much though, and mentioned how it's weird that at most grocery stores they always put the Diet Coke on the top shelf for some reason. She then moved more Mimi Litter bags to the front of the shelf they were on -- so that more short people with cats could also save money that night!! THEN! Being that apparently everything at Walmart is 6 dollars or under, I had grabbed some ridiculous pajamas, a plant for Valentine's, a shampoo for men that was in the middle of the aisle (timber flavor!), and possibly something else, when I got to the checkstand the milennials ahead of me asked if I wanted to put my stupidly-large armload of crap on the conveyor belt, and I said, "No, that's cool; I did this to myself." They said, "We did the same; came in for one thing - and look at us. But we did break down eventually and get a cart." THEN they pushed their stuff forward to make room for my damned lack of planning! THEN! The very sweet 20-something cashier said, very interested, "You have a cat??" And I said yes, I have two , and she asked what kinds. I told her a fat tabby one and a fancy orange one with long hair. She told me back in her country when she was a kid she had 24 (and explained where her country was, which was very sweet but possibly also frequently necessary in this country) and that when her family moved here her mom said no pets. So I showed her the wallpaper of the fancy one, and she said it was so cute, and we agreed that cats were both sweet and cute, and I said I hoped when she moved out on her own she would get to have cats. She said she definitely would. Jesus, Walmart of Tigard: I had the lowest of low expectations, basically just that I hoped to find cheap silica litter and not get squashed by a drunk senior in a mobility scooter, or have my ankles bitten by an equally drunk fake "therapy dog." You shattered all of that with great employees, great customers, and conveniently-placed Man-shampoo and cheapass pajamas I didn't need that ironically state that I love coffee. Plus a plant for Valentine's, also conveniently placed and in ostensibly robust health. 5/5: no way I could rate lower for this amazing visit. read more

I've been shopping here since they first opened and today I think I've had enough. This store is doing a poor job during this pandemic. Please have better signage so that customers understand the one way aisle direction. Also, keep the hand sanitizer by the entrance filled. Janene at the Customer Service desk is the absolute worst. She oblongs NOWHERE NEAR a customer related job. So incredibly rude and disrespectful, didn't even try to do her job, kept saying "I don't know how that's my problem" and had such a terrible attitude the entire time. The issue was never solved, and when her coach came up she started bad mouthing me and my fiancé. Her coach clearly is new to the position because they let her walk all over themselves too. Pathetic, unacceptable, unprofessional and so incredibly infuriating. Janene needs to be fired or sent to a position far far away from customers asap! read more

The store was full. They have six cash registers. Only one had a cashier. Took me an hour to get through the line. It was ridiculous. They seem to be working hard to improve this location. It's still difficult to find staff if you need help. But I've had a few fun conversations with some older gentlemen in the sporting goods department. Sometimes a girl needs a little extra help on that department. LOL! Not jazzed about having to check myself out, but they have so many help yourself registers that I never have to wait. There are at least 2 people running around the self checkouts at all times sanitizing the registers. Keep up the good work. The improvement shows! read more

This a great Walmart and under great managers. It starts in the parking lot, it's clean and not carts everywhere. Clean restrooms and everything works. No one guarding the front doors, but nice young man in green traffic vest directing us. We told him on the way out to tell the boss how nice this store is for our shopping. I downloaded the Yelp app just so I can leave this review. My experience was that bad. First, the assistant manager is a complete ass. He apparently has plenty to say when your back is turned and you are walking away. Second, they sold me a defective product and are refusing to exchange or refund me for it. Their B.S. policy is only posted in the "Customer Service" where returns happen and no service is actually offered. If you look at their other reviews, it's apparent they have no issue violating consumer protection laws and I really hope it catches up with them. Walmart has always been mediocre, but I've delt with it. At this point, I'm done. I'll go somewhere else and pray this store and company rots to the ground. read more

My partner & I goes to this Walmart all the time. Every time we ask for assistance to find an item, the worker is always rude & not helpful & some of the cashiers are rude as hell. I also, see workers rude to other customers even elderly folks too. I have read the reviews & I noticed this Walmart has the worst customer service because of their workers. They need to change the workers attitude or give the position to someone that really wants to work that has a positive attitude instead because workers like that shouldn't be working for a job that has to do with customer service at all. read more

So I am over at Winco and the bottle machines are broken, there was this tweaker that said he was going over to Walmart, my reply was I didn't know they were already open, no signs "Grand Opening" or anything. Off I go over to the new Wally World and check it out. First is the parking lot, there was either a wind storm or they do not have any sweeping service yet, lots of trash all over and even a used diaper on the way in just laying in the parking lot. This did not surprise me because of the "stereotype" that Wallmart shopppers have. Enter in through the front doors and there is the produce section, it seemed like they had a smaller but better quality of fruits and veggies there than Winco. Good smell like fresh baked bread, then I turn around and see a Subway, that explained that. But why add a Subway when there is already a 24 hour one less than a mile away on Pacific Hwy? I do not think this is a super store, why build just a smaller one after all the street changes they did just for this place? But still a good supply of a lot of different items. You just have to keep an eye on the prices just like anywhere you shop. This place is going to make Freds change and keep Winco on their toes. I don't plan on shopping here all the time but its a good place for a variety. Took off one star for the poopie diaper in the parking lot. read more

I'm not a Walmart person. Like EVER. The only time I go there is if someone I know who is older than 70 wishes I go there for them for some reason. Had reason to visit this Walmart & credit should be given when due, especially to Walmart since it's rarely ever due, this store was AWESOME. Clean. Seemingly well-adjusted, genuinely friendly normal adults employed there. I exchanged words with a couple associates. actually it was 2 small, but very real conversations. That happened. Well stocked with an excellent variety in every department I visited. It was quite amazing & an experience I doubt I will soon forget, if ever. I wish I can give this a higher review...but I can't. There is NEVER enough registers open. There is ALWAYS a huge line. I see this everytime I go there. I go there once a week. The store and prices are awesome. Everything seems organized. It's in pretty good shape for a walmart store. However, they are quite a few employees that may need additional training in how to ring up groceries. They were just super slow, unsure of what to do. Practice makes perfect, I know. But c'mon. Atleast get someone more experienced who is faster when there is a huge backed up line. Some of the employees also like to stand around and exchange cigarettes. Yeah, there needs to be more order eith the workers. Other than that. I always spend more than I should. Ha. I am very thankful there is a walmart close by. read more

I found what I needed, plus a little extra. First time here at Tigard Walmart. Sunday morning, parking lot empty. I meandered into the Home Electronics for a TV antenna. They had plenty to chose from $10 - 60. I got some advice from a website on how to secure HD channels at home w/o resorting to cable. I was conducting a bit of experiment. No one helped me. The fella that seemed to be working the dept., didn't greet me. One thing I like about a Walmart is that staff do not offer to help. But on the other hand if you need help ----- are you going to receive real assistance? I can find my way around, so no harm. Store was clean and there were no toddlers screaming. Cashier was fine and said I answered my questions about a possible return. A good experience. read more

I find stuff to buy, I check myself out, I go home and enjoy the bought things. The selection is decent, the prices are okay. The customer service is pretty meh, sometimes you get enthusiastic people that like your Star Wars pick, or you get grouchy people who would like to slam your fruit down your throat. Kind of a 50/50. But they've lost my online orders a few times and I'm not sure what happened, it might have been a system glitch, however they called me to come back three times and each time was a false alarm. As I was walking out Ruth Ann assaulted me...because I didn't want to show her a receipt for a cheap vacuum. First of all.... I am NOT required to show you anything. I purchased this item along with others which makes it my property and if you wanted proof...you could've looked at your cameras. I literally despise Walmart and their unprofessional and quite frankly dangerous employees. Ruth Ann shoved the basket into my stomach which still hurts btw two hours after the incident. You make $12 an hour... don't take your job so seriously to the point where you endanger a paying customer. And to make matters worse the assistant store manager is a joke and needs to be demoted immediately...when I told him how his employee assaulted me when I had my receipt on top of the vacuum that she could clearly see he told me they are allowed to ask for the receipt by law and Ruth Ann would be talked to....whatever that means..I feel like nothing was done and I don't appreciate being treated like this. Someone needs to be fired!!! I will shop at Target from here on out...it was my mistake giving my hard earned money to Walmart in the first place. read more
