Costco Costco how do I love thee?? I have to say I'm quite sad that I haven't seen Ed in a while...a long while. Maybe he's not there when I go now since I work like a normal person lol. I had a VERY bad experience with a SUPER rude cashier who I now avoid who was throwing items down the belt - like chips and avocados- stuff people don't want THROWN. When I said I would bag it the girl who was bagging/helping legit grabbed the item out of my hand. I was fit to be tied. So I grabbed the item BACK and said I got it. Then the cashier got really really rude. My son said "wow no one has ever been so rude at Costco like that Mama." The cashier said she was going to get a manager and I said PLEASE do. I explained the issue and paid and LEFT. GAH I still get mad thinking about how nasty she is. And she is not a friendly employee as I've seen her multiple times since. Then you have Ed (are you still there?!?) and Jen - both of whom I'm SURE have been there for the 9 + years since we moved to Oregon and have had a membership. People who are super friendly. Engaging. And legit NEVER seem to be without a smile. My daughter recently had a meltdown because we were told that the Chipotle "B" sauce is discontinued. I said sorry kid. Special occasions only now - since they are $5.99 at Costco for a POUND versus 6 ounces or 8 for $7-10 anywhere else. Nope. Then we got to Costco and I said "just look - we never know" and she came back with 4 "B" sauce lol she said "I think people must have thought I was crazy because I screamed when I saw it and was jumping up and down." Thanks for bringing it back Costco!! Anyway - aside from evil grumpy cashier Costco is everything- like Danny Rojas says "Footbol is life." Costco is PNW LIFE! read more

Family shops here all the time. It was my first visiting and I was impressed. Lots of organic stuff sold here. Staff is friendly and will assist. Ladies and gents sampling food knew their products well. People are more relaxed and did not feel like shopping at Costco in NYC it's like a mob scene and mad dash for products. Found some products were a good value. Will be back again. read more

I very rarely return items to Costco, unfortunately my last visit a couple weeks ago missed the mark on 3 items. I was surprised how busy it was just after 10 am, but I was advised that Executive Members have access at 9. Pretty sure my Costco credit card doesn't qualify as executive since there is no additional service charge. There weren't many people in the return line and the associate who assisted me was very friendly...unfortunately i wasn't able to look around the store at this time, but all the returns were processed back to my credit card in a very quick manner. You wanna box?  Well there's a ton of them right behind me, but I don't want to turn around and get them so, sorry, we're out. You wanna box?  (Angry Sigh!). Well here then!  Let me crush eight hundred dollars worth of groceries, pout about it, then hand you the heaviest box and say "Here!" and walk away to the next customer instead of fitting it in the cart. The was my experience the last 2 trips I made to the Costco in Tigard, each with around $700-800 worth of groceries for the family. Costco Management:  You need to figure this out.  Either you are working people too fast, or your people have some other gripe about pay, hours, etc and are taking out their frustration on the customers.  As one cashier put it today, "I don't get paid enough to deal with this..".  Deal with what? Great store overall, I dont tend to buy a lot of the produce or milk to volune but has a great selection on snacks and interesting foods. Employees are kind and do their job well. Ways a few try before you buy stalls. Saves you a good amount just be sure to have a big family or be ready to invest many days to something. Not a point knock out but I miss the Pepsi products and they never sold mountain dew even when they were which is very ??? To me. Overall a great value and worth the membership, especially for gas prices these days. read more

This is one busy store. I've shopped Costco in multiple states and countries. The floor plans are typically the same everywhere. I'm a fan of the treasure hunt. This Costco has a slightly different layout than most, however the traffic flows. The service is the same but the crowd is tough. People, the products are not going anywhere, relax. I bought bridgestone all weather tires from here a little over a year ago. I got a bubble in my tire and went in to replace. I had to replace all the tires bc I have all wheel drive which I knew. I was well within the warranty but was told costco no longer carries those tires bc they have caused so many problems. The warranty was not honored and ended having to pay $484 which is almost as much as what I paid for the Bridgestone tires to get equivalent tires. As an executive member for over 5 years I am very disappointed and will not replace my tires here again. read more

How can you not love Costco? Excellent products, great price. Friendly staff. Majority of items come in large quantities, but also a lot of name brand items at great prices. There is a consistent layout with Costco really wherever you go, in whatever location. I have decreased one start for "Portland Costcos" because of the difficulty with parking. There is generally not a lot of parking and the cars get bottle necked because of the layout of the parking area. I always try to go early because of this reason, but mentally prepare yourself for a parking disaster when you go. read more

Ironically, I saw corporate visiting this location several years ago, and I told him how much I loved this location. Over the next two years it just went to crap. What happened???? I love Costco and I've been at Costco member for almost 30 years. The service at this Costco is slipping. The customer service, returns, entry end and exit out is not a welcoming environment. The rules feel more important than the people. The rules seem a little arbitrary and ridiculous. You're being directed this way and that and there's no way to get to the location you want to go to ( looking at your tire center) without having to run a gauntlet through the shopping lines since there's no clear and easy way to get to the tire center, especially if you have mobility issues!! The lines to exit are super long because the checkout agents are doing their job of counting every item on your receipt to every item in your cart and I feel like they think i tried to steal something from the store. Checking out at self check out is just as bad with them once step away from asking you to pull out your drivers license to verify your ID. Or maybe they are memorizing my cc number. Yea, you heard me right. Any time we travel we Check out the local Costco as many carry items that are relevant to the area they are located. And if you are driving across the state or country, you can fill up with gas, food and also get a walk in around the store to stretch your legs. Tigard is one of our local Costco's that we frequent weekly. We do most of our primary shopping here. They team members here are friendly and helpful. It's also our primary gas station as well. The store itself I think it's fine like all other costcos staff is great. But I'm writing this review because they need to add some security in the parking lots. My wife was harassed by beggars asking for money while she was busy loading the car with the stuff we brought and the beggars were standing dangerously close to our young daughter. I wasn't there but it's appears she has been targeted twice now over the past few months. Way too many pan handlers all over the parking lot. Beaverton and Hillsboro doesn't seem to have this problem. read more

This is for the gas station at the Tigard Costco. There are usually really long lines that clog up the aisles out in the parking lot but since the new law that legalized being able to pump your own gas, the lines seem shorter. How is that possible? I grew up pumping my own gas until moving to Oregon in 2015. I quickly got spoiled by someone else doing it for me. I'm not lazy but do appreciate not having to get out of the comfort of my car when it's raining or even snowing to fill the gas tank. The attendants at Costco are very quick, usually have a joke for me and having to wait a few extra minutes isn't a hardship for me. When my husband fills up, he usually pumps his own gas. I still like to have mine done for me. I like to tip a few dollars too to show my appreciation. read more

We literally just visited this location and right at walk-in this lady I believe her name was Karrie Kay who was greeting at the door and making sure everyone's scanning their membership card literally jumped in front of us and and yelled that we could not enter because dogs aren't allowed and it was in a very rude and aggressive way. She didn't even take time to ask if it was a ESA or a service dog. When we told her that our dog is service dog, she said what's that ? So we had to educate her on what a service dog is . We told her that she warns my husband for his seizures and his blood pressure. She continued to say we couldn't enter, And it's not about what you say. It's not what was said but how she said it .jumping in front of my cart and yelling that we could not enter, the store is just ridiculous. She was very rude. We asked to speak to a manager. She then gave us attitude about asking for the manager. When he came we explained what happened. He then tried to repeat that the dog couldn't be in the basket which she was in a stroller so it doesn't make sense. He then told us that we were good that we can go shop .He said he was gonna go talk to her and then just walked right past and didn't even address the issue. And we understand the matter of checking to make sure about asking the questions if it's a service dog or not, but it's not about what you say. This really seals the, 'and I'm done'... I used to maintain that I kept my membership for the fish and gardening supplies. I was happy to get a motorized cart to do an order for another person. The order was a lot and I realized one boxed up I could not cram in in the basket but could navigate a cart behind me I could hold. As I approached they were racking up several carts and I thought they were taking them to the front as there was a bunch. The person doing that was also the person 'bagging/boxing' the groceries so I said, "Hay - boxing that stuff will be awkward since I have two orders and this motorized cart but can use a regular cart. The cashier and person with the carts immediately tell me all the ways people steal and that they need to create a WALL so people can't get through. The cashier tells the other person that he is going to have to go get me a cart he supposes because the four carts are not enough and someone is going to steal things. I was not expecting all that saying I appreciate the help much and that I just want to make it easier for all of us. And I just assumed that the person managing the box up got that I was delivering these and had the space to do so. Again, I was in a motorized cart and the baskets are pretty big plus I am dragging it behind awkwardly. I exit and tell the sweet guy marking my receipts I have two orders. He sweetly says how much they appreciate us shoppers and I felt like saying, tell that to the cashiers maybe who seemed pissed at me. Then I go to unload into my car and thankfully I have a whole supply of backup bags because that guy did not box over half my order including 2 containers of 24 eggs... I was staring at the store because I was debating going all the way back in and around to try to get more boxes but seriously, I needed to get this stuff into air conditioning asap so I made it work. Good thing we have friends with a 7 seater who were willing to help us drop off the car and drive us today so we did not stifle our trip. BFFs!!! Quality/Quantity - Costco is very consistent! Our best Costco flat tire experience was on the Big Island, HI last year. My daughter and I changed the rental car flat to the spare, then Costco took us right away and did the repair in less than 30 minutes, the first time ever!!! This trip, as usual, we left the car for the day. Again BFF's to save the day! Oh, I bought 3 more 4-packs of beer during the process, Costco got me again. Atmosphere - Consistent. Service - Sadly, they were probably understaffed and promised us a 2pm pick up. After WE followed up with them numerous times, we finally picked up our car at closing. All they had to do was tell us to come back then and not give us the runaround. If you are an experienced Costco customer, it is normal to have to leave a car for the full day, we are used to it. Please coach/train the manager better. Price - Flat tire repair was like $11, cheap. The 3 4-packs of beer cost $30... Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this location since 1986. This location does not have enough parking. Barely found a spot at 10am but maybe just visit later in the day and not so close to opening is the key. The prices are good for the quantity if you can use it before t goes bad. I mostly purchase dry goods, wine, and a few perishables from Costco due to small house size and lack of storage. The chasers are friendly and get you in and out effectively, all the time. read more

First I got to say... I'm a big fan of Costco but today was odd. A young lady in Customer Service was rude today. She maybe didn't get the memo to be thankful your alive and have a job when so many don't. I had a couple returns and she asked for my membership card. She wouldn't make eye contact and was rolling the eyes. She did my return and I walked about 20' and turned around realizing I didn't have my card. I asked her if she had the card and she ignored me, then the guy working next to her said she didn't have it and told me what line to get in to get a replacement card. Just as I got to the front of that line the guy gave me my card and said it was on the floor. Why ignore me when I said I lost it the first time and not look for it then? Strange! read more

As I went to review notice there is a 3 star rating and it's fitting to say the least. I went and got something from the snack bar today and when my order was ready, they called 593. I came over and grabbed my food. Looked at both ladies and told them thank you and have a great day. The lack of customer service is appalling these days! Nobody cares about their job anymore, and no one cares to greet a customer with a smile! Just crazy how much it stands out that they were more interested in talking with each other turning their backs to me rather than make sure I didn't need anything. I know it's a food court. Love this location but it does get crowded. Yesterday a man with a full cart dashed out between cars without even looking, he was glued to his phone, and I had to slam on the breaks to avoid hitting him. Crazy! Then almost got hit by two vehicles as I was parking. Yikes. People, pay attention! This Costco is smaller than other locations but I'm totally fine with that. They have more than enough product and inventory so I don't need more space. The check out lines move quickly and those working the registers seem friendlier. Full disclosure; I don't have a Costco membership. Nope, I can't justify it. So when a friend invites me to come along, it's a treat! There are so many incredible buys, BUT there are many items that I can purchase cheaper and in smaller quantities, when on sale at Freddy's or Safeway. Point being, you really need to know prices and be smart about purchases. Bulk doesn't always mean less expensive here. That being said, there are some items that for me, are worth it. Yes, the rotisserie chicken is one of them! Larger, way juicier and more flavorful than what I can get at the grocery store, and for a few buck less. Makes for a great dinner the first night and then it turns up in a Cesar salad, enchiladas or chicken pot pie the next. When a friend offers to bring me to Costco, I say yes just for the chicken! When I'm hosting parties, back in the day when we could do so, the frozen Spanikopita and mini crab cakes always make an appearance. Saves me time and money, and my guests devour! The Kirkland cashews are a killer value; they are delicious and stay fresh. Sanders dark chocolate covered caramels with sea salt are the best! High unlit and for $9.99 for a container that's over 2 pounds, when it's there, it's coming home with me!!! Amazon sells for $32. Their cheese, produce, meats, pantry items - so many deals! And great packaging like the taco meal kits; chicken in 6 individual 1pound packages; 5 types of cheese packaged together for $19.99, perfect for entertaining or add a bottle of Kirkland Cabernet for an instant picnic. Love! It's not just the food. I've purchased winter coats, leggings, patio furniture. a computer, printer ink, and yesterday, a portable ice maker. I've been eying these for awhile because my freezer is super small. Instead of wasting shelf space with the built in ice maker, I actually fill that area with food. Having a portable ice maker means I can have ice whenever I need it for cocktails. For $89, it was $50 less than at other stores. So why don't I have my own membership? I don't need all this stuff, all this food!!! No freezer space, no pantry room and no willpower as I spent way too much money! When I need something specific, like the ice machine, I go with a friend and then pick up a few treats while there. read more

Went with my roommates to get some household supplies, we've never had an issue before with one person in the household being the costco card holder and us paying separately. lady at self checkout was standing around us trying to scare us off and lecturing us about how we all need a costco card and it's one card per person not be household. we wouldn't have had a problem with it if she just explained that to us but she decided to get a nasty tone. one of my roommates decided she no longer wanted her items and went to put them back. when the self check out lady noticed she was gone we heard her snicker to another employee about how she "scared us into buying a costco membership" very rude, very unprofessional, will never be going back to this location read more

Costco clearly knows there's no need for customer service or even pleasantries unless they are trying to up the membership level. The pharmacy has now given me another big reason to avoid this "service". I've been trying to refill a prescription drug for my epileptic dog (supposedly on "auto refill") for a week. Every time I call the automated number I'm told it's "Scheduled" Yesterday I talked so someone in the pharmacy and was told (more curtly than usual) it would be "a few hours." This afternoon I called again and was told they don't even have it, and it's been on back order all along. Not a word of this from Costco. My dog requires this medication every 8 hours around the clock just to keep his seizures manageable. My Vet is out of the office today, so I've had to ask another doctor to call in a new prescription to replace the original with the same drug in a different form which has been available all along. I can only hope he will do it. Time to find a responsible pharmacy. read more

I went to this Costco on a Saturday at 6pm (it's open until 7pm during the Christmas holiday season). The store is, as expected, pleasantly empty by then. Woohoo! I had pre-order some small items for pick-up. 2 were available in their lockers (look like Amazon ones). 1 was pickup from their counter. A bit confusing but we figured it out with a bit of back and forth. The store itself is not a supersize one, but it's big enough to have everything I want. We shopped for a TV (woot) and some non-perishables. Shockingly, they even have Charmin toilet paper. Isn't that like finding gold these days? Their food court is inside. The returns desk had a line that snaked around the outside. Must be the start of Christmas season when even the returns line is long! The staff was nice. No issue. read more

This is my favorite Costco. I arrived at 8:30 am on a Saturday, and the line was only ha handful long. By 9:15, the line was as long as the building! Customers were friendly and social distanced, all wearing masks as they waited for the store to open. The website posted that they are open at 8:30 for seniors, and special needs customers. The woman behind me in line, finally politely called Costco, asking when they are going to open. Costco's response was that they are already open. The woman in line, politely replied that we are all standing outside, and that we can all vouch that the store is still closed. Costco replied that the website hours are not updated. The weekend hours for Costco are: Sat & Sun - 9:30 am for everybody. Toilet paper and paper towels were well stocked, so most everyone's shopping carts were very full. I give this Costco a good rating, because the customers are more consistently polite than at other Costcos. read more

Good prices but not by much. I went with them, however, because I wanted a solid name brand for my daughter who is going to an out of state college and I wanted a "national" outlet she could turn to if needed. But we learned that Costco is NOT a place to get tires at if something isn't right. Terrible service. After the tires were put on the car dash showed a "low tire" alert a week later. She went back, without me, and the assistant manager treated her like a narcissistic know-it-all #%# would tried talking down toward a young blonde woman. Unfortunately for him, I taught my daughter to stand up to jerks like this, and she got the manager involved right away. Good for her and bad for Costco tires because , as a +25 year business member, I will never get tires from Costco again. This Costco location has the services I'm looking for: Food Court with kiosk ordering- I love the quick service at the food courts since I can order food on the kiosk without standing in line. After I place my order (typically a hot dog and chicken bake), I usually just have to wait 3 mins before I receive my food. The system works swiftly Non-invasive returns- After I used a Shark vacuum for a month, I didn't like the extra exertion needed to vacuum my carpet floors. It just wasn't smooth or make the chore easy. Even though I tried cleaning the vacuum container, there was some dust remaining. Upon returning it to "Merchandise Returns" without any questions asked, the employee even gave me a recommendation of purchasing a Dyson after hearing my issue. While I didn't purchase the Dyson, I appreciated his willingness to help. Gas- As we all know, gas prices at Costco are usually the lowest. Not all locations have a gas, but this one luckily does. However, since this is Oregon, I have to wait extra long for the gas attendants to pump gas for every car. This adds around 3 mins to every car. While it may not sound like much, if you're behind 8 cars, the gas wasted by waiting may deduct from the price savings. read more

YUM! Pumpkin pie is now back! Usually the 1st of Sep to the end of the year! I love it - average 1/week! The only bad things are no more polish hot dogs and the combination pizza - supposedly not healthy enough! There is now attendant served gas to the left (difficult to read since both self serve and attendant serve are in red - would be nice to have a color distinction). I hate having to navigate through a store I've never been in before. Since Costco builds and owns each facility it's a mystery to me why the layouts in every store can't be the same. Somewhere I read that the layouts are changed frequently and are designed to be confusing because it (according to the dummies who do this type of research) it causes people to wander around longer and do more impulse buying. Well.... I suppose that works for customers who are imbeciles but not for those who carry a list and purchase essentially the same items several times a month. So I gave them a three star "ok" rating for that. They didn't have everything I was looking for. Perhaps because with the different layout I wasn't able to find what I wanted or perhaps they don't stock those items at this particular store. I realize that Costco is home based in Seattle.... and like many Seattle based businesses they have "curious" and condescending attitudes towards normal people. I'm also keenly aware that corporate could care less what I think about anything. I know this because I have written to them a couple of times over the years and have yet to get even the courtesy of a response.
