I just left the donation station at the Tigard Goodwill. It was terrible. I had several boxes to unload from my car. I told him they were kind of heavy for me. I'm 76 years old and 4'8. Instead of helping me unload he brought out a bin and left. I started unloading them. Hurt my back and neck. There was one box left when he came back out. I told him I could not lift it. He was awful. Never spoke to me. Never said thank you, and let me unload 7 heavy boxes myself. Just slammed things around. I came to your place because I was told they would help. I will never be back as a donor or customer. This was Thursday night, around 4:45 or so. Big guy. Could have helped me. read more

I'm from Seattle and in Seattle there i no shortage of Goodwill's In addition to almost every city having at least one location, most location are as large as a WalMart. I was shocked to see this tiny location. It had clothes, housewares and much of what you expect, but on a very small scale. This was probably the first visit to a Goodwill where I couldn't find something to buy. The store was stocked, but they just didn't have anything I'd consider collectable or a find. read more

Always have good luck when I shop here, typically seeking unique glasses and dishes. Even though the shelves are packed and nothing is placed in sets, today I was able to find four matching drinking glasses with pine cones etched in the too. Perfect for the PNW! For $1.99 each, I was super happy. Also found an old wicker picnic basket for $6.99. Not sure I'll use it to transport items, but it will add texture to my open shelves and be a good backdrop to my plants. As with all Goodwills, there are lots of racks of clothing, several dedicated to jeans. And since It's October, there were lots of Halloween costumes for kids and adults. Plus shelves full of Halloween and fall decorations. Staff was very pleasant, even wrapped all the glasses for me and packed everything up nice and secure. On my way out I stopped at the donation area to drop off gently worn shoes, coats and clothing plus some household items. Again, another pleasant experience. read more

Went there today to get clothes and everything was so over priced. Average cost of a shirt is 6.99 and the only stuff I wanted was a shirt that was 15.99, a long sleeve that was 24.99, and a flannel that was 29.99....wth. Almost didn't go here due to negative reviews about customer service. Last thing you want when donating items is to be treated poorly. But the drop off was fast and easy and the gentleman who helped me was very kind. Just thought I'd toss a nice review in here since people always like to write negatives but rarely positives. This is a fine GW in general, BUT: the books are a disaster. Someone who hates books or at least has no respect for them must be in charge, because they put sticky price tags *all over* the poor books, inside and out, on shiny *and* matte pages. And on the covers of old paperbacks. They need to respect that older paper, and matte paper, will just tear or pull up with the sticker, ruining the illustration on the back, or damaging the inside cover pages. If it's a paranoid attempt to prevent theft, it's throwing out the baby with the bathwater, because you make it so that people won't buy those books because they'll be ruined immediately. Too 'clever' for its own good. This is the only GW I've seen this at; others are more respectful to the books. Have more respect for your customers and for what you're selling, Tigard GW! read more

I was in this store today. I bought a corner bookshelf that I thought would fit in my car and ultimately did not! This item did not even make it off the property! I went back into the store to return the item. I was shocked when they handed me a store credit instead of refunding it to my card...especially because the person right before me when i purchased it received a CASH refund - yet they refused to refund me. Then the guy proceeds to tell me after the fact that I should have been told that there are no refunds only store credit...WHICH WAS NEVER TOLD TO ME... so how was I supposed to know prior to purchasing??? I did ask if I could return it if it did not fit in my car and was told yes...no other stipulations were mentioned! These guys are croooooked af! read more

It's a Goodwill so your typical used clothing's and good with an ocassional great find. Somebody also alphabetized some of the books by author which was pretty cool Now the big problem for me. They started individually pricing vinyl records and have no idea what they are doing. Horribly overpriced now, not to mention the typical devastation of disorganization - An album of 78s with nothing of note is $15. - 45 singles are $3. - random albums are $10+ There is no rhyme or reason and I will pass on this location when I go out to do my thrift shopping. read more

Did ya know there are over 40 stores in a 50 mile radius from Tigard? This is how I got to my rating: 1 STAR BECAUSE I LOVE donating to this branch of Good Will - they have lots of helpers so you don't have to do all the work yourself and the bay where you drop off donations is covered thus keeping me drip free during my shedding of items that are still suitable to be sold. 1 STAR BECAUSE I LOVE the location. It is in my proverbial backyard. 2 STARS BECAUSE I DOUBLE LOVE the weird stuff people give away or die and leave behind! I just scored the coolest 1960s floating Raymor clock for 8 bucks?!!!!!! The only reason I held back 1 star is that I am just like that. Nah, not really. I only gave it FOUR wonderful stars because it is not my very favorite of their numerous locations. Of the Goodwill stores I frequent I would certainly count this in the top 10 for sure. * NO STARS Just an FYI: My mother LOVES this place for books at lowish prices. OK this is my second review of this location in two months... My last review went over the topic of them making their customers feel like they're doing something wrong because they haven't tagged things correctly. I am going to remind you that I come to this goodwill four times a week and spend a lot of money here however today I have a man come up to me and flash a "badge" and say we don't do that here... I asked him what he was talking about and he said "we don't price switch". Obviously I was confused and asked him to elaborate and he told me I needed to leave or he would call the police. Then he said price which is illegal... I'm still confused by what exactly I did and why he is accusing me of Pryce switching... Whatever that is. Goodwill was busy and me being the social introvert that I am I was instantly frozen. He told me I needed to leave the store... He asked me for my drivers license... Then he asked to take my picture... I did not give him my drivers license but I did let him take my picture for future reference because corporate will be hearing from me. I'm still baffled and confused by why he thought I was price switching. I am literally sitting in the parking lot shaking. When he came up to me I thought he was going to tell me to pull my mask up because I had just pulled it down to buy the hangnail off. I don't even know what to say in this review other than I am stunned and shocked and embarrassed and confused. He has banned me from this location which in the long run is going to hurt them not me. In hindsight I should have asked more questions and had him explain to me what he meant by Pryce switching but it was so embarrassing that I did not know what to do. And the craziest part was all the employees were shocked by this because they all know me because I come here all the time.Now this would be different if it was 20 years ago back when I was in my addiction and looking like a thief probably LOL but I am a 45-year-old woman whose son is a police officer wearing clothing that identifies that and I'm still shocked that this is happening I am so confused. The prices here have gotten outrageous and the suspicion from employees and the public degradation that I have seen happen to numerous people at this location for no reason needs to stop. Like I said I will be contacting corporate to discuss this because he had no right to take my picture or kicked me out of the store... Actually I'm wrong he did have the right to kick me out of the store because they have the right to refuse service to anyone however to humiliate me like that will not go on punished. I hate to be caring about this but I think my complaints are justified in this is something that needs to be taken to corporate to avoid future humiliation of others. I can't stand people who are given a badge, not referring to police officers, but "Security "so they can walk around and act like they are trained in this area I know I'm rambling but I am still so shocked by the whole situation that I just want to get it across to be wary when you go in here because you never know you could be shopping and be stopped by security and humiliated for no reason and when you go to ask a question about it the only thing you are told Is he will call the police if you don't leave right away. Ann Taylor Loft Shirt - sale price tag on of $6.97. Goodwill price $9.99 Target framed picture - retail price tag on it of $4.99 on sale. Goodwill price $7.99 Is this a joke? When I mentioned these prices to the employees, they shrugged it off saying they received them already priced and couldn't do anything about it. The CEO is onto a good thing it seems. I have high expectations of what a boutique is when I was a kid. I have thought of it as all glitz and glamour. It is all subjective as I learn on how the world rotates and evolves. I like how organized this store is. It is relatively cleaner than some other Goodwill stores. This branch seems quiet and tame compared to the other thrift shop concert halls where all you can see is a mosh pit of bargain hunters. I am very happy that there are only a few hunters here. Needless to say, I came home with nothing. I did not see anything that I can turn into an obra maestra. read more

This store has a good selection, the store is clean and employees helpful. Compared to how the Newberg GW store is ran I would highly recommend this store over wasting time going into Newberg, Only complaint was last time I came in to drop things off it was raining, I am disabled and there were 2 young men outside bringing items in, no cart, they said they were all full, and no help to lift out heavy box, when I tried to do it myself the box fell and the items spilled out onto the pavement and under my vehicle, and the boys without blinking just walked back into the store even though there was no other items for them to carry in, SO if you are disabled and they do not want to take your items, I would recommend going elsewhere to donate ! read more

I can get my "shop till I drop" on in here. Really Roll up my sleeves and really sort thru others donated treasures. It's 3 miles from my house and I love that. Cashiers are friendly but they could use more when the line gets long. The floor help is readily available when needed. However, the store hours for Sunday posted on Yelp are incorrect. This Goodwill is open from 10am to 8pm. They do not open at 9am on Sunday as stated on Goodwill! read more

This is one of my favorite goodwills and has been for a long time. I just don't get out to Tigard much anymore, but always want to stop here when I do. Maybe this is 5 stars compared to other goodwills - but I'm stingy. Or perhaps, other goodwills simply deserve 3 stars instead....I'll think on that. The parking lot is huge, and somehow always full. The help is a bit slow, but that's no surprise. Prices here are somewhat cheaper than much of Portland's goodwills. They also have a large donation center here - maybe even drive though. They have a plethora of shoes, handbags, linens, activewear, (new) socks & gloves, and basically everything. I found a scrabble set yesterday - which NEVER happens, believe me, I know, I've looked. Lots of Scrabble Jr - but no one ever gets rid of their scrabble boards. $1.99 SCORE! read more

I was literally kicked out of The Goodwill. I was window shopping and didn't realize they were about to close shop until an employee came up to me and told me I had to buy something or leave. She gave me a really mean uncomfortable stare and told me I had to leave immediately. She escorted me out the building. I checked my phone and realized they still had a couple of minutes before close. It was the absolute most awkward and uncomfortable moment I've ever felt in a retail store. This Goodwill is extremely organized, but what I loved the most was how well they kept their board games. Some places have them thrown on the shelves randomly and taped shut (which then ruins the box). This location keeps the boxes together with rubber bands and has them neatly organized. read more

This location is alright. The housewares are lacking. The frame section is a mess, absolutely no way of sorting through it. I didn't check the clothing. I don't tend to buy clothing from goodwill anymore, as it's pretty expensive. Shoe section was pretty lack luster. They are good taking the safety precautions and the experience was pleasant until it came time to check out. For some reason my debit card was declined I called my bank and my card is active and good. The first cashier was nice the second one was rude when I asked if they accepted American express she waved me off without answering my question. It was kind of embarrassing because I don't know why me card was being declined. I didn't see any stickers of what cards they do accept. That's why I asked. I specifically asked "Lynda Lynda", the district manager for Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette in an e-mail about their return policy, noting that I was disturbed by a store that only gave me 14 days of in-store credit for a return, even broken items. "Lynda lynda" curtly replied with their store policy without specifying a time limit. When I re-asked specifically about the time limit, she confirmed that their store only honors the in-store credit for 30 days. This is very unprofessional, and poor customer service to need to press so much just to get this information. Beyond Lynda's interaction, having only 30 days of in-store credit is ridiculous. The whole value of a thrift store is waiting for that unforseen gem that comes in. It doesn't do me any good to have to try to use my credit on what's left over. You'd be wiser to temp fate on Craigslist or Ebay. [update: In a further e-mail, Lynda Lynda apologized for any miscommunication] read more

Horrible fucking service! The lady who was my cashier didn't even hand me my bags and she completely rushed me by calling the next people in line WHILE I was getting my bags that were on the side. Next thing I know, one of the pair of shoes I paid for got left behind and I have no fucking idea HOW, oh wait I do know because I had to grab my bags when usually the cashier makes sure I got everything. Then, I called several times to see if anyone can help me out and they kept transferring me to other people AND during one of the calls (I SWEAR) it was the same cashier who had "helped" me answered the phone and then she HANGED UP after I explained. What a horrible experience. Missy, maybe a low level manager, was so rude that my 4yo son kept saying, "She's so rude." Then she had the audacity to tell me to calm down though I was nowhere near upset. I simply was voicing my discern with the treatment I was as experiencing a customer. She was talking over me, cutting me off mid-speech to talk to the cashier and was not answering any of the questions I was attempting to ask. I visited this location to scout any gym equipment, toaster oven or hot plate for the kitchenette in my office, and any other little bargains I happened upon. I did find a couple of dumbbells and picked them up thinking they were $3.99 each and some clothing for my son. The weights had several price tags on them which is why we had to call Miss NASTY over. just alright. lots of random knicknacks that i wouldn't count as "boutique." got some decent shirts here from banana republic. the dressing room is a tent at the edge of the store, it's kinda dark in there so if you are a dressing room diva, plan accordingly. Just so y'all know....this goodwill is not a boutique store, and never was. Anyway....this is my absolute favorite goodwill superstore to shop at! Staff are friendly, and will gladly accommodate reasonable requests. Also, they seem to get higher end donations than most (location probably) and I always find that item that I must take home with me! Their prices are usually pretty good. (All goodwills make mistakes on either pricing too high, and even too low, but I'm okay with the second one! Ha) But especially the furniture! Sometimes I wanna cry because I don't have enough room to take home all the good deals on furniture pieces. Love this store. read more

I typically get great service with everyone that is there. Ceasar, Malcolm, amira, maya, ali and Hong are amazing. They are always so kind, so helpful, and so sweet. They are hardworking, super welcoming and absolutely just amazing people. I literally go back at times and if they aren't there, I typically don't shop. Store has a nice selection of items, especially furniture. However, they are ridiculously expensive on some items and they need to keep in mind that they are receiving a profit on DONATED items. Art should not be $32 for a SET of 4. A manger's recourse to a customers complaint should also not be: well, art is getting expensive these days. -understood, however, this is the goodwill. A place where people come to shop and buy hand me downs. So please remeber that Manager. Their prices are so steep on certain items that it makes no sense. I'll continue to shop at Value Village who at least has reasonable prices, has often sales, and appreciates their customers. read more

The Tigard store is absolutely the worst of the worst. They are selling "Dollar Store" items for $2.99 and $3.99. They are rude and have no idea on how to treat a customer.
