Etailers have certainly taken their toll on many if not most brick and mortar venues. It's difficult for them to compete, though when it comes to clothing, it's obviously helpful if you can try them on. This Macy's is located in a small local mall in Auburn which has seen better, actually much better days. There used to be a Macy's Home store which has been converted to a medical facility and a Sears which still appears to be empty. So it's good that Macy's is hanging on, but a question mark about things to come. Let's finish with a positive. There's always plenty of parking available for Macy's and the rest of the mall!

He was very honest and showed me all around the whole warehouse. I left on that day, but have returned many times since then! I've purchased a power recliner sofa that sells for twice the cost. I also bought the chair that goes with it. That was four years ago. The sofa and chair were, and still are excellent pieces of furniture that have served me and my family very well. Everyone who sits on them remarks how much they like them. I bought a very nice leather recliner chair and a separate leather ottoman from Scott on another visit last year. I've referred friends that I talk to that tell me their in the market for furniture or mattresses. I decided to write this review because I'm now looking to buy both a Queen and full size mattress for my daughters bedrooms, and possibly adding a new sofa to our living room. It was new and priced $999 marked down from the Macy's price of $2999! Furniture Now stores their leather sofas, ottomans and chairs in a big unheated old mill building. They have some others a mile away in a trailer type building. If you visit the mill building in winter, wear warm clothes. Bring a flashlight to accurately see the color of the furniture and feel free to take a cushion outside to see the real color which is what we did before buying. They recommended delivery by Braveheart Moving. Brad is the owner. He charged $150 to deliver the very large sofa to us which was a great deal. Brad did a great job setting up the sofa and removing the packing material. If you're up for an adventure and want to save a lot of money on leather furniture. Check this place out.

Macy's Home is now a medical facility. Macy's department store is still operating, and like the rest of the mall, it's very quiet. Finding a salesperson or open cash register can be challenging. Most of the food court is closed, I think there are only two food vendors left (Cap't Loui and Tacos Mexico, plus a yogurt counter). However, on the positive side, if you're looking for an EV charger, there are a plethora available at this mall, and it's likely that many if not most will be available. And parking is always a breeze as nobody is ever at the mall!

Maxx in Auburn, Massachusetts last evening, Tuesday, May 21, 2025. The young man seemed amiable enough, and that's enough for me. We're not at the Bottega Veneta Boutique in Venice, we're in T.J. Maxx, so "basic" customer service skills are perfectly acceptable. Well, it would appear that young cashier man was incapable of accomplishing even the bare minimum of customer service, and he was not one of the adorable high schoolers there saving for college. This was a whole adult. While cashing out, I was looking to explain one very small detail to him, but he was engaged in deep conversation with his very pretty colleague. I completely understand cashier/player-player, but would it be okay if I explain just one small thing to you? LOL! Well, I thought he was listening, but I guess his head was truly deep in his colleague conversation because he promptly did exactly what I politely asked him not to do. Ugh!!! Then I asked that he please not put my shoes in the bag with my clothing and it would appear that this was a trigger for him as his annoyance was both visible and audible, with him telling me that he could refuse me service and suspend my sale, and to that I responded by saying "please do". It would not have taken a Rocket Scientist to see that he had only one interest at that moment and that was the pretty young lady who he continued to converse with, even while telling me that he didn't have to assist me. Are we serious right now! I unknowingly interrupted your "will you go on a date with me" ritual, and I can't be helped, with my purchase being cancelled. Please T.J. Maxx, that Auburn, Massachusetts is one of the very first, surely you can do better. This was an embarrassing display. Here we have, not one, but two employees who would much rather converse amongst themselves than to assist little old ladies (that would be me). Had there been another cashier available, I would have simply shifted over, problem solved, but he was the only cashier open at the time. I am not one to argue with someone about things that are as unimportant as this, but I have to say that I have never in all of my years been told that I would be refused service. The fact that two whole employees chose to continue a conversation amongst themselves rather than place a bookmark in that conversation to wait on a customer is bewildering at best.

Today the owner accused "old men" customers for aggressively hitting the touch screen credit card machine and breaking it, when in reality this machine has been breaking for well over a year. Actively disrespecting your customers to other customers makes it seem like you care about your money more than your customers experience.
