The worst customer service! I have been trying to change my account email address for over a year so that I can make purchases on line. I have gone to the store, they say they can't do it and that I should call customer service (good luck finding that number). "Customer Service" says that the system won't allow them to change the email on file. My only option is to go to a store (again), close my membership and open a new one. My wife says that BJs stands for Bunch of Jerks". I agree. read more

called in an deli order it was ready went to pick it up had to wait in deli line of 7 people for mobile order . once got order processed to check out to realized order incorrect the cashier didn't know what to do called over front end person who was confused on what do . It's got your typical BJs items but I agree with the other reviewer in that I do not appreciate being accosted by aggressive AT&T phone salesmen when just trying to do some shopping. Also, the women's bathroom was very filthy- they do not do a good job of cleaning this. read more

I booked my tires online and made an appt. When I got there my appt was not in the system and the tires were not there. There was one person working as everyone else called out. This is the second time I have come here where one person was working. That one worker was great but it needs to be a 3 man crew. Avoid like the plague. They are just a constant mess. Before going to BJs for shopping today, I looked at the app to make sure they had what I needed in stock. According to the app they had everything in stock. I get to the store and I'm having trouble finding what I'm looking for so I check the app again to see which aisle I need to go to. I go to the aisle and the product is not there, even though it is listed as in stock on the app. I go to ask a worker and she rudely points to the back of the store saying " it's in the back". I ask the woman to show me where she means because I don't understand where she's referring to. We get to the aisle I was just looking in and the product is not there. She just walks away lol. Then another product in stock on the app but in an aisle that seemed to not exist...? Although the worker assured me that the aisle was just around the corner- once again not there. After shopping I wanted to go to customer service to let them know the app is not updated and guess what- nobody there! On Veteran's Day, when I was about to pay for my purchases, a woman came up to me and said I couldn't pay at the 20 or less checkout counter because I had more than 20 items. She didn't even count them, so how could she know how many I had? But when I paid, my receipt showed that I only had 20 items in my cart. Was it because I was a different race? Cause she was very friendly and told other people that they could pay here, but those people had more than 30 items in their carts. read more

The shopping was good as usual. But this review is about something else. Upon entering the store, we were approached by third party vendors, attempting to sell us new phones. We politely declined and we were met with looks and sneers. Then, a second set of third party vendors approached to ask "have you gotten your 50.00 gift card today?" I pay money for the privilege to shop here, only to have these people interrupting my experience by trying predatory sales tactics to trick and or bully us into signing up for whatever they happen to be selling. This is not something anyone should be experiencing. This is no longer acceptable as a business practice. For the good of your business, it would be best to relegate them to a corner they cannot leave from, or get rid of this aggressive and duplicitous brand of marketing all together. I purchased the WF organic salsa, was in 2-jar packaging. When I got home to put it in my pantry I discovered both jar covers were loose and salsa came out, They were literally opened. Needless to say I had to toss then out as I am not sure why or how they were opened. You may want to check the remainder of jars on the shelf of the store. Key points: * Already 17 days expired when item was purchased. * My item was at the top of the pile in the store. * Both a Asst Mgr and Perishables Mgr confirmed that date checks are done twice a day (so 34 checks missed). Names are Mary Jane and Mark, respectively. * At no point did anyone say that area was getting cleared or checked immediately. * Stacia from Corporate apologized but didn't get the sense action would be taken. Appears to me that this location is trying to sell off perishable foods to avoid sending back expired items to vendors. One or two days missed is an accident. Seventeen days missed and items placed at the top seem intentional to me. Please think of your family before purchasing any food from this location. It's so sad to see how bad BJ's has fallen. Very short staff, product randomly placed in odd places around store and coupon items are out of stock. In addition this is the 2nd time I ordered an on-line deli order, and rec'd the confirmation that the order was ready, and it wasn't. Deli worker said machine just came back on-line. When I complained about this prior, the customer service rep said I must have picked up the order, or didn't receive the email confirming order was the ready. The topper was using express pay for the first time tonight, app reset items in the cart, and had to rescan 3 times. At the door check, the lady had to scan each item, so why did I use the express pay. Good luck staying in business at this location. read more

Yesterday at the Auburn, MA BJ's store location I experienced the absolute worst customer service situation in my existence and I am not exaggerating here. I NEVER leave negative reviews. This is my very first. The entire situation was so bizarre. So here's the situation I hope I word it in a way that's easy to follow. On May 16th I bought myself a little solar powered umbrella through BJ's online and picked up in store. Didn't get a chance to build it until this past weekend. I LOVED it so much I decided to purchase another. I noticed that the price had decreased since my original purchase and checked that I was within my 30 day return window (I was) so I purchased 2 more with the intent of returning one with the receipt from May 16th. Now typically when you return an item it should be the original, however, I used my own money to order 2 more so I could return one in brand new unopened condition without having to dismantle the one I built a few days prior and making it easier for the retailer to resell the brand new item once I returned it while also saving myself a little money. Win win? Apparently not. Well only one of the 2 ordered was available in store so they canceled one and I picked up the other. This is the bizarre part. Okay so I'm not in retail. I'm not privy to the knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes but I can guess there's extra work that goes into processing a return and in my situation I was trying to process it for a refund of the full purchase price I paid on May 16th (still within the 30 day return window). And I intended to repurchase it at the lower price so I'd still have 2. The woman refused to do the return. Demanding for the original in order to process the return and insisting I was over 30 days return window. Simple math showed I wasn't. I could not convince this person that how I was doing it was better for both of us. Then I pulled my very first "Karen" moment and asked for a manager hoping that person would get it. To which they responded that they were the manager. At this point a ton of her co workers have come over to watch the situation unfold. I informed her that we'd do it her way. I called home in front of everyone and asked my spouse to bring the original back to the store. I went outside to wait for him. He was angry. He did not bring the original. He went into the store with the one I just picked up. This "manager" saw him coming with the large box and walked away sending someone else to deal with him but watching from a distance. Within seconds "manager" walked over and offered the difference in price. At this point we were both so angry that we returned the item (using the original receipt from May 16th within the 30 day return window) and received a full refund. Not only is BJ's out the sale of the second umbrella but they've lost 2 renewal memberships. We will never shop here again. Sam's club is where we'll be switching. Now the bigger question is why did the return process go easier for a muscular bearded tattooed huge man but I got the scene? Was this a race issue? I'm white manager wasn't. Or did we both just have a bad day and took it out on strangers? I've also realized the fact that I was actually wrong as a customer trying to return the item I just purchased rather than the original item assuming that it was easier all around. I made an appointment to have my tires rotated, I purchased from BJ's. Gave me a 4:30pm time. Was at Auburn location at 4:30PM on the dot. Two guys working no one in the bays at all. Guy took my truck in at 4:35PM took the tires off the truck. At 4:45 I see him walk out the door leaving my truck up on the lift tires off. I watched as the one guy left took two customers in front of me and sold them tires. 20min each. He also when out and filled propane tanks for three people while I waited 1hr 15min. I finally asked for manager who took about 15 min to come out and talk with me. You could tell he could not have given a crap, told me sorry for the wait and walked away. I probably won't renew my membership again this year. Their produce is sub par, the bakery is absolute garbage, the clothes they sell are pretty terrible and their prices have increased considerably. I think the days of "wholesale clubs" (which is a huge joke) are long over. These are not wholesale prices AT ALL. Most of it is overpriced. Cheap gas prices can only go so far. Yes, this place was $2.35 with BJs MasterCard (November 2018) when $2.69 is considered a damn good price. But it was kinda a PITA getting in and out. If you are heading East on 20, it's a divided highway. The light right after the gas station has a no U-turn sign. So I have no clue how you would access this station short of the illegal U turn. Which is how I got there. The BJ member card scanner is too small to fit your card below, so it took forever to actually get my member card scanned so I could get cheap gas. BJ Tire store in Auburn Ma should stop selling tires. Went in today to buy 4 new tires. The person said I had to pay before they could give me an appointment. $1.271.58. Once paid I was told that the earliest appointment was tomorrow at 4:00 pm. I took it. Only to receive a message 1 hour later that my appointment was canceled. Called back 3 times, 15 minutes each time on hold and no one picked up. 4th time finally spoke with a person who informed me that I may get a call on Monday but most likely it would be a week before a could reschedule. Had to drive back tonight to get my refund . What a waste of time. The tire workers spend more time filling up $8 propane tanks than servicing customers spending $1,200 on tires. 6 bays, 2 filled up with old tires. Wh is running this place?? Most BJs locations are the same but I am really not a fan of this location. Everything seems to be setup opposite of other stores and I find myself wandering trying to find things. This particular location does not carry alcohol and does not have a liquor store attached (like the one in Hudson.) This location does have a tire center and auto shop. FORGET BJs! BJ's was last used by us 6 years ago. I have refused to return since they did not return my $55 back as guaranteed since we did not use the club because of distance. I thought we'd give them another chance today. While I saw numerous three month free deals available and annual membership for $25, after screwing around on my smartphone with several changing offerings, I decided only to accept the one day f kk oree membership. No mention of any surcharge was mentioned on their webpage offering or by customer service. We then tried to check out with around $200 worth of purchases. But we were held up for 20 minutes at the register until a supervisor came back to tell us that we had to pay a $60 surcharge on our one day pass. He said that there was a 5% surcharge for our $200. I don't know what kind of idiot software or calculation they have, but never again will we go back to BJ's. Their one day trial was disastrous! Forget BJs. Try the competition. on top of that we were going to fill up with gas on the way out but after seeing approximately 20 cars in line we decided it was not worth the discount. read more

Love this location if for no other reason than the deli! We are in weekly to stock up -- and I definitely appreciate the difference in price that I see here as opposed to Price Chopper & even Market Basket. We always buy the "housebrand" Wellesley Farms & I am constantly amazed at the quality for the price. Produce is another one of our big purchases here. The enormous bag of mixed salad for under $3 has to be the best deal around. It certainly makes getting a healthier lunch on the table easier for me. I do wish that the bananas would ripen to shade of yellow instead of grey though... but seriously -- that's my only complaint :) The staff is friendly & knowledgeable. I fell on the wet cold concrete floor on July 24th by register 5. The staff would not help me up. They let me lie there for 15 minutes until EMT arrived. Then they said corporate would call me. A person named Dan called me two days later from an unknown number and left a message to call him back. But he didn't give his number clearly so I had to contact the Auburn, MA store. I like Bj's. It reminds me a lot of Costco but they just carry different brand, and its a bit smaller with no bakery. They don't have as many organic items as Costco, which I miss but its a lot closer of a drive for me and I prefer it over Sams club. If your looking for good prices and to buy in bulk this place is a good place to shop if you can't make it to a nearby Costco. They have a lot of variety and it is your typical warehouse store for the most part. I definitely think Costco is the best though. read more

This is a place where the weak should not go shopping. There are definitely some good deals here but there are some that aren't so great. This also isn't the kind of place where you run in for an item. Expect to drop some cash. Everything is in bulk. If you don't have some storage in the house this probably isn't the place for you. I shop here once a month to load up on certain items...paper goods, chicken and meats, and diapers (almost done with those. There are some items we don't buy because the come in variety pack. It's not a deal if we can't use them all. One thing I don't like is the $40.00 yearly membership fee. Charge me a nickel extra for each item and I'll never notice the cost, yet I'll feel much better about it. I know I save more then the fee on a yearly basis, I just hate the extra $0 on my bill in one hit each year. read more

I used to be afraid of BJ's - I cannot explain why, I'd never really been to one. I'd grown up going to Stop & Shop and Price Chopper so whenever I thought of BJ's all I'd imagined was a warehouse stacked with bulk boxes of "stuff" probably dusty and exceptionally warehousey. My boyfriend was on me for months to go to BJ's and when we moved into our new place I finally gave in - and I'll never turn back. It's clean, everything is fresh and they carry EVERYTHING from health and beauty, meats, snacks, cereals, bread, baked goods, paper goods, cards, books, clothes, seasonal stuff - you name it! The produce is a bit touch and go but 80% of the time it's as good as the market! Their store brand, Wellsley Farms, is better than most store brands I've encountered. Like another reviewer mentioned their deli is A++; GREAT prices and you don't have to buy bulk in the deli, they'll slice 1/2lbs too! Yea you have to pay for a membership - well guess what, that membership keeps out the types that think they're too good for a membership and can't adequately budget a $50 investment in a membership over $50 on smokes and booze. It's a bit crowded on weekends but the quality of other shoppers is, in my opinion, bounds above what you run into at the local grocery store (I hate shopping around scumbags.) Even if you don't have a ton of room for storage it's SO worth going to BJ's. We are a young couple in a *very* small 1 bedroom apartment and we make it work. The first 2 trips to BJ's are going to be expensive ones with the membership and getting started bulk shopping but after that you'll fall into a groove. I don't have hard numbers but I'd estimate I'm saving about 40% over my old grocery store habits. Bulk shopping helps you shop smarter and saves you cash on the things you are shopping smarter for. I still have to swing by the local grocery store for things BJ's doesn't carry: like Cains mayo and misc. snacky stuff I cannot live without. Now that we are planning to move, one of my requirements is that our new place has to be close to another BJ's - I cannot live without it! PS First time memberships are often as low as $35 for the first year AND most BJ's accepts manufacturers coupons! Don't forget to pick up Ziploc bags while you're for segmenting large amounts of food (mostly the meat) for smarter storage and freezing! read more

The help I received at the tire store went above and beyond a typical experience. It was late on a Friday night, my tires had been slashed and I was desperate for help. The two gentlemen were amazing calling other stores in order to get the tires I needed and stayed past closing time. They never made me feel bad or like I was inconveniencing them. If you like BJ's it's only because you have never been to Costco. We moved here last fall and the only thing missing is a Costco. Closest is an hour away. Got an offer for BJ's with Groupon (need I say more), so gave it a try for $25. It's small and doesn't have the best quality. NEVER has staffed registers open. Just one with a person and the rest are "self checkouts". No bakery. Cakes are baked outside and brought in (and are gross). The only reason why one would think BJ's is good is because they have never experienced Costco. Lastly, I have NEVER experienced such outrageously rude employees. Stood in line forever while the woman in front of me went back and forth to the service desk to get coupons that she had forgotten. They stood there and laughed at me waiting there so the desk could dig though the used coupons to find the ones for her to reuse. Of course, there was no other register open. Wow! read more

I live in CT, but the Auburn, MA BJ's is not far from me and compared to the gas prices in CT... well I filled my tank. Ordered Eye Glasses from BJ's 2 years ago ...They screwed up the cutting of the Bi-Focal ( off 1/4 inch ) OK Sxxx..... happens they sent them back another 2 wks ..only issue was I was to be in the South for the next Month....No problem will ship them to the BJ's in North Carolina where you'll be ..Great it will only be a couple miles away ..WRONG ...they shipped to another State ...BJ's then states... you should probably wait till your back in Mass...Ok shoot ahead 2 years ..new Glasses are ordered from Same BJ's ...wait again now glasses are in and new ones are also wrong ...to...transfer numbers from one sheet of paper to another is not that difficult ...I can't be the only guy out there that"s not happy ..
