I LOVE THIS WAL-MART, minus the fact that they completely rearranged the store and ruined our usual path we took, but how can you not love a Wal-mart where you can get your grocery shopping done and get personal care items and tons of back to school and electronics? Yes, Wal-Mart does attract an unusual crowd, but I guess that's the reputation that they kind of had since FOREVER! Almost everyone that works there is useless, especially the short and chunky girl at customer service that gives you the HUGEST attitude whenever you want to return anything! But other than that, I love how big this store is compared to others in the area, all they need now is gas! read more

I bought a four cubby bookcase unit today at Walmart Wallingford and the service was outstanding. It was far too heavy for me to lift so a Walmart associate leaving for the night stayed to get the unit into my carriage and after checking out another associate hoisted it in to my car. I really appreciated the extra help and will certainly go back. read more

Impressed with customer service at this Walmart, who went out of their way to help us return an item from another Canadian location, when customer service people at other Walmarts wouldn't. Thank you to the returns worker who called her manager instead of just saying, "We can't," and the manager who helped process the return. Walmart really needs a central warehouse to process returns more easily. read more

Customer service is horrible. I waited for someone to help me for 20 minutes at the jewlery area, after having an employee paged 4 times the person who showed up told me they cant help me and that the person who runs this area would return in about 30 minutes....WOW REALLY!? FAIL!!! Then to top it off the other day I pull in and see this employee guy finnishing smoking with plastic gloves on, partially torn....just before I enter he does. He walks right to the produce department and starts putting lettuce and other things on the display...note: HE WAS WEARING THE SAME DIRTY TORN GLOVES! idk about you people but that is disgusting!! read more

Why do I go to this disgusting store? It never fails to give me a headache. If it weren't for the prices, I wouldn't shop there at all. Today I went into the Men's department and said Hi to an attendant in order to inquire about a Christmas Red Turtleneck. I wanted to pick one up. This Walmart employee responded to me in Spanish. I said, I don't speak Spanish, this is America. She laughed and walked away. Another employee was walking through, this dept and I asked her and she said, "I don't know." Absolutely disgusted, I approached an American man and said: " your a Dept Head, he said yes. I said " please alert management at your next meeting that, if your going to hire someone. please make sure they speak English. He said, we get complaints about it all the time but we are not allowed to bring it up at meetings anymore. This store is filthy, un stocked and Im so glad I wrote this because I will be shopping at Stop and Shop from this point on. I feel sorry for the people who work hard but Walmart prays on the poor and underemployed. Walmart needs a union. read more

Worst Walmart! I called to get information about a purchase and was put on hold over and over again. The girl answering the phone was clueless. The department she transferred me to never answered. I was on my way from New York. I drove 45 minutes trying to contact the store. Couldn't get a soul, except for the clueless operator. I asked to speak to the store manager. She again transferred me into oblivion. No one answered. I asked for Walmart's customer service number, she said she didn't have it and transferred me into oblivion. I must have called 20 times. I called Walmart customer service and spoke with some gentlemen with an English accent, who took a complaint and transferred me right back to the store where the woman place me on hold for 35 minutes. I took my phone into the store found a customer service representative and showed her that I had been on hold for 1/2 hour. I hung up dialed the number again (while I was in the store) and let her see what was happening. I asked to speak to a store manager. She told me they all were in a conference and were unavailable. Why am i writing this? The people who answer the telephone should be educated not to leave customers on hold for 40 minutes. If they can't get a hold of a department, they should escalate matters. Even when I went to the store and spoke directly with the rep with the yellow vest, we called together and the operator put us on hold an never came back. Bad customer service! read more

Never ever go to this WalMart, I have left there is tears not once, not twice but three times! I especially hate the photo department!!! The machines are either broken, shut off, or the staff has either left early or they are on a 4 hour break. There is nothing I hate more than bad customer service, and when the manager can't even be polite, then clearly there is something wrong. I REFUSE to shop here ever again!!!!! I love walmart & this is my favorite walmart by far because you don't really have to go "searching" for your items; similar items are placed near each other. @ a different store I was looking for shampoo & it was not near the soap and toothpaste, but on the opposite end of the store near the DVDs. I go shopping usually around 8pm bc of work & I have never waited too long in line, but when I go earlier the lines are a lot longer. I think not that many isles are open even though there are many isles. It is a little sketchy and uncomfortable @ nite, but it doesn't stop me from going at that time. But there is a lot of close parking. I like how I can go grocery shopping and get all of my other stuff all in 1 trip. The prices r great for food- SOO much cheaper than stop and shop Only BAD thing in my opinion is the quality of fruit. All the fruit I buy (except for bananas) dies really quickly or is already dead at the store. read more

Just walked out of this store. After waiting 20 mins for an associate at jewelry to buy a necklace they couldn't even offer me a box for it. Let me get this straight Walmart I want to pay 250 for a gold necklace and you can't even offer me a box to put it on and the associate just goes "so you want it in a bag" wtf kind of idiots run this store. read more

Terrible. Unfriendly employees seem like they hate their work. Slow moving and unresponsive. Get what you pay for

If you're a person who doesn't like large crowds and waiting in line forever, and, like me, you shop late at night to avoid those crowds, things have gone downhill at Wal-Mart. Granted, while before they would shut down all the self-serve checkouts at night, they now have about eight of them open (thanks to placing them all in a contained area where a rep could keep an eye on it all). The problem is they've gone to the opposite extreme. If you're doing your grocery shopping for the week to feed a family of four or more, get ready to do a lot of self-scanning and bagging, because they no longer offer a "manned" checkout where they scan and bag for you. It seems like even Wal-Mart is trying to reduce their labor force during the recession. Representatives on the floor are scarce, unless they're stocking shelves, and even then, some of them spend more time fooling around like it's some sort of fraternity house. Don't bring your young children with you because the language is off the chain. Lots of juicy four-letter words that if, as a child, you had uttered, your mother would've stuck a bar of soap in your mouth... read more

This Wal-Mart is not that bad compared to other Wal-Mart's that I have been to that have long check-out lines, low stock and are very messy. I like that this Wal-Mart is conveniently open 24 hours and that they have self check out. My only issue with this Wal-Mart is that there women clothes smell like food because of the Subway restaurant that inside the store. I wish they would stop putting these Subway restaurants inside of Wal-Mart knowing that Subways have a distinct "Subway Smell." Don't get me wrong I like Subway but I don't like my newly brought clothes smelling like food. I brought a sweater there one morning on my way to work and I smelled like food all day!! read more

i consider stopping here after 10 pm to be a remedy for depression &/or self-loathing. quite a show.

There is absolutely no GOOD time to go thru Wallingford, Ct Walmart. I have tried the middle of the night, early morning, Saturday dinner time, midweek...it doesn't really matter. The employees bump in to you like you were invisible, they are always out of 1/2 of anything on my list, the place is filthy, employees are rude and there is generally never a short line or nearly enough registers open. It always seems like I land there on government check day and the deli is always no less than 1/2 hour wait. There is a new deli employee that is a special and complete "bad hire." He is slow, rude, opinionated...and he always asks how much did I want no less than 3 times and then proceeds to cut it too thick! It sucks that none of our collective complaints will matter to anyone at Walmart from the bottom all the way up to the President of Walmart, but this needs to be said! read more
