Upon hearing that, I couldn't help myself. I told the man "she's using WIC, sir, you may not be aware but it's not a simple process." To which he told me "it's not that hard," And that I should "shut my smart mouth." So, I asked the gentleman for his name. To which he initially said "it doesn't matter." I finally got a "John." Out of him. Last name "John," too, allegedly. He also attempted to have an officer escort me from the premises for simply asking his name. I wasn't escorted off the property, because I'd done nothing wrong. Disappointing that Walmart would hire a middle aged, angry, impatient, unprofessional man and put him into a position of some sort of management... Honestly egregious. Disgusting. This Walmart was really busy but it was Valentine's Day so I didn't expect it not to be. There are a lot of self checkouts and about 4 registers. I'm unsure of where all the associates were but no one was at the fitting room. When I went to self checkout I couldn't find the self checkout host either I had to find a cashier at the register. Overall the store was clean and I found almost everything on the list. The cart pushers were working constantly bringing carts in. I will definitely be back to shop at this Walmart again. read more

This place is allergic to customer service. Pickup takes their phone off the hook and gaslights you about it. In store they took prices off tags cause they want you to use the app (ableist and classist btw) but then wont honor the app prices because they're "online prices" even though they dont have in store prices??? Also where do yall get off checking receipts like everyone is a criminal when you make us do your labor at the self check out? An actual nightmare of a place. Don't bother going here. Unfortunate since its the closest Walmart in the area. Theres 0% willingness to do their jobs by the associates. Im glad they are being replaced by self checkouts because no one wants to work. Good luck if you need help in this store. Love the curbside pickup. They are always on time and always have my order right. However, shopping inside the store is a different story. Two days in a row, I went to the paint department and no one was there. In both instances, they paged someone and I would wait 15-20 minutes and nobody would ever show up. read more

Likes- Almost anything you would need under one roof. Convenient to get in and get out Dislikes - It's Walmart! They sell the worst of the best and the best of the worse. Customer Service/returns - I had to return an item but they only had one person manning the desk at rush hour. It took a fairly long time to get to the head of the line. The service was good once I was served, it just took a bit of standing in line. Safety? I saw a previous post mention a shooting several years ago. Today, there was some law enforcement activity going on in the parking lot. A rumor was going around that a shoplifter was in the parking lot but was arrested before he could leave the property. read more

Walmart Whitehaven Store #5196 has the worst customer service EVER. This is my second and last time I am dealing with this store. (adding the story) I was in the store 12/10/19 looking for an item that was supposed to be there,according to their website. Found it, paid for it online, at that moment, and they told me I had to wait until I got an email telling me to pick it up. I said, BUT I'M in the store now, can you just get someone to load it up for me (Gold Gym Exercise Bike). They said NO. I still have not gotten a text to come pick it up from 1:30pm this afternoon. #Ridiculous read more

What a beautiful establishment. They have a very reasonable selection of meats but can be expensive sometimes depending on what's available in stock. Make sure to check dates on everything,nothing is ever rotated so alot of items are expired. Never,ever buy milk from here if you don't drink it within the first few days it will start to sour and will be curdled well before the expiration date. Trust me when i tell you this it is bad. read more

This rating goes for most all the Walmart stores in the Memphis area. We have called multiple stores with similar results. The store in West Memphis was the last on the list so we chose to give the review to them. Called the store to find out if they had a particular item in stock (we had been to a store where an item was said to be in stock on the Walmart website to find out that the store did not have the item in stock). Apparently, their website and the inventory control systems do not communicate. After a number of attempts to call, someone finally answered. I asked if they had the item in stock. Put on hold. Person came back on and said no one in that department was answering the phone. Put back on hold. After a while, person came back and asked, "Is there anything else you need?" Me: Yes, I still need to find out if the item is in-stock that your website says is in stock. WM Employee: They won't answer the phone. Me: Is there a manager available? WM Employee: Manager is on vacation. Me: Is there an assistant manager? Anyone?? WM Employee puts me on hold... Eventually she comes back and says that they do not have the items in stock and it would be 2-3 weeks before they get more in (this is the word everyone has given us). So once again, the Walmart website and their inventory control system are disconnected. Bottom-line: It seems that Walmart EEs are coached to pass you along to someone else or to get to "no" as quickly as possible rather than be proactive and anticipate your needs. I have been going here all my life,but today I might as well go to the Walmart in Marion, AR. I went here with my grandmother, and this lady had an attitude. My grandmother said hello how you doing, but the associate didn't respond. She then caught an attitude and said she doesn't play games, and will get the manager. What is up with this Walmart? The photo department is where the back Customer Service area is for most other Walmarts, the picture scanners are in the middle of the electronics, and there are some picture frames a few aisles away but most of them are up front across from the pharmacy. The disorganization of it all frustrated me a great deal. Other than that it was clean and had everything a standard Walmart has. But I would not want to shop there. It's always difficult trying to find things in a different Walmart than your home Walmart, but in this case things are not even near each other as they should be. read more

My husband and I used to frequent this Walmart location, simply because we work late and it was the closest grocery option open 24 hours. I loved it because crowds make me crabby- especially Walmart crowds. I don't like your child with the dirt ring around his mouth running his cart into my heels and I especially don't like your lack of discipline for him and your other 10 kids hanging off the basket. I also greatly dislike fighting you for the last acceptable bag of lettuce. No matter what state I am in, my shopping excursions always seem worse at Walmart. It's cuz of the customers- hence the great love of peopleofwalmart.com. I digress, this Walmart is very clean (even by 24 hour Walmart standards) and they always seem to have a good selection of products on hand. I will say that I despise their bakery. Every item we have purchased here in the way of bread gets moldy a mere 2 days later. It is so frustrating. How do I know if the bread is on the verge of mold?! We stopped coming here all together after the whole police shooting incident. Thinking of being trapped in a Walmart is a nightmare in and of itself- the rest of that nonsense only made it worse. This Walmart is probably safer than most Walmarts in Memphis. Your greatest chance of violence here is being bitten by mosquitoes. Do not shop here on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. But it's the perfect time to people-watch. This Walmart has great prices and everything you need. I don't like how health and beauty products are across the store from the grocery dept. Like most Walmarts, they are usually under staffed on the checkout lines. Service is pretty good for a Walmart This Walmart is safe and can be convenient if you shop at the right time. read more

Out of all the Walmart's I've been to...this one is my favorite in the whole USA. The lines move quick the store is clean. You always see everyone you know so its truly a hometown store. If you need something but can't find it the employees will stop what they are doing and walk you to the item. They have tons of great prices and everything you want & need. I give it five stars after going to Walmart's in other States such as Saint Louis & Memphis oh and also Las Vegas this one is the best hands down. read more

Every time I have been to this walmart it has been clean. I can get all good I eat here- good selection of vegetarian supplies--soy products in frozen area, they do carry Amy's product , almond milk-good price, tofu in produce section. I love the Walmart cheese pizza!! --get it in the deli area--I just add my own veggies- but I like the taste - good dough and cheese and its Big!! The employees that stock supplies have always been courteous and helpful to me. And so far I have felt safe --well as safe as you can be. So I'll continue to shop here unless something changes. Oh they do need to stick a better selection of beer and wine. And my fave cheap wine that I could get in Charlotte walmarts -- Oak Leaf -- put out by Walmart - no where to found thereplease start stocking that read more

CAUTION! This is the most ghetto Walmart I have ever been to. Went here to get an oil change and told us it would be a 2 hour wait. We waited for about an hour and a half before asking what the status was. Only to find out it had been finished for about 30 minutes and no one bothered to tell us. I'm going to start with the positive. This Walmart is open 24 hours and its location is very convenient for those who live downtown. Definitely beats driving out to east Memphis. I would also like to point out that I have had a few very nice employees at this location help me. (Can't remember names, unfortunately.) I also think that the whole shooting incident that happened a few years ago gives this place a bad rep. HOWEVER.... This place is NOT clean. I have seen spills not cleaned up, open packages with missing contents and just "funk" around this store in general most of the times I have been there. The bathrooms are disgusting. Few employees are eager to help. (I mean maybe it's just me, but when I ask where something is, a half-ass point and a "over there" or something similar just does not suffice.) None of the employees seem to be able to smile. The customer service and general check out lines are always ridiculously long. (I don't believe that two or three open lines is ever okay for a Walmart that gets as much business as this one.) This place needs a lot of work, internally and externally. Although Walgreens is typically more expensive, I always go there before I go to this Walmart. I don't mind paying a bit extra for better customer service, a cleaner place, quicker check out and an overall better experience. read more

Customer service is horrible! Girl overcharged me, when I handed her my receipt to fix it, she promptly lost my receipt as she ignored me for the next customer, and when I told her "I handed it to you" she just looked at me awkwardly for a second and continued to ring in the next guest. read more

If they spell your name wrong, they run out of the prescription, or your insurance doesn't go through, it is their policy not to fill the prescription without any notice. So if you are sitting & staring at them for the entire hour it takes them to fill a prescription on a good day, you still have a 25% chance of getting back in line to be told they did not fill it or bother contacting you to ask the spelling of your name. Worst service ever, I hope they caught my flu for the three hours they made me sit there without telling the first two times they couldn't get it to go through. read more

Dear Walmart Customer Relations: I am writing in regards to an unpleasant experience I had on October 27, 2017, while shopping at your Walmart Supercenter at 798 W. Service Road, West Memphis, AR 72301. When I entered the store, I placed my therapy dog, Chance, who was already in a carrier, in the shopping cart. Immediately, a young woman with a Walmart badge approached me and proceeded to tell me that I was not allowed to place my carrier with my therapy dog inside into the shopping cart. When I tried to explain to her that I always placed him and in his carrier in the shopping cart, she repeated that I could not put him in the shopping cart and pointed to a sign on the store wall near the shopping carts. I then tried to explain that he was a certified therapy dog and that I could not possibly be expected to carry Chance's carrier, use my cane, and push the shopping cart. But, her response was to point to the sign and repeat again, I could not place him in the shopping cart because it was company or that store policy. So, she gave me no choice, but to exit the store. I guess my question to you and to Walmart is why would such a policy be put in place? It is almost as if, Walmart is discriminating against people with disabilities that use therapy dogs. Because children and babies are allowed to be placed in the shopping carts. So, what other conclusion could I come to? And, my daughter, who lives in Florida, told me that her friend also experienced the same experience at a Sam's Club there in Florida. So, I have to wonder if Walmart and Sam's Club owned by the same company are starting new policies to discriminate against the disabled individuals because they need the use of a therapy animal. I can't speak for every disabled person, but I assure you, if I had my choice, I would not be disabled. But, the driver of the other vehicle didn't ask me before they pulled out in front of me and caused my severe injuries. However, I would guess that the other disabled in America, weren't ask either. And, I wonder if the Department of Disability Services or the ADA, Americans with Disabilities would think about a policy like this being adopted by any business here in America. I certainly hope that Walmart and Sam's Club will maybe reconsider this policy of not allowing the disabled to place their small therapy dogs in the shopping cart, as long as they are in carriers. read more

I have been here many, many times because frankly there isn't much too choose from in this area. My experience when I shop there has been decent. When ever I have had a question, anyone I asked was very helpful. The cashier's could act like they like their job, however, as they do not smile and some don't even greet you as a customer. Overall I thus far have had no bad experiences shopping there, I get in, get what I need and get out. The one thing I will gripe about is the money center, when there is a line they should have more than one person working at the counter. Someone should be paying attention to that. read more

On July 01, 2017 I arrived at your Walmart Super Center to purchase a cake for my wife's birthday. I had just arrived back in West Memphis from Chicago Il. This was a last minute ideal. Your center had ten cake available for me to select, but no one to write the name on the cake. Out of no where can a Walmart associate. This young man said," may I help you?" I asked him where was the cake makers? He stated; "all gone, they come in very early to bake and are gone, but I can help you". I didn't believe him, but trusted him. He stated, "I will do my best". So, I went to get a birthday card. Ten minutes later, your associate name "Roy" came and found me in the birthday card section with the most beauthiful decorated birthday cake that I have ever seen. Then he stated, "I am the baker". My wife loved that cake. Thank you Roy, and thank you Walmart super center for great products and very good associates like Roy - The Cake Baker. Thanks again.
