Why have buttons placed around the store for assistance, and then none of your employees come to help out when said button is pressed? Would advise anyone not to shop here at all if you need anything behind a locked case. Because you more than likely won't get any assistance from the employees that are paid to work here. This Walmart would have been fine, it was overall generally clean, easy to find the products you're looking for however, the employees are so rude and lazy and don't wanna do their jobs. At the self checkout, their kiosk wasn't working so when we moved to a new one the employee threw her hands up at us like we were the ones that broke the kiosk not once but twice. Instead of offering to fix the kiosk for us, she treated us very rudely. You're better off driving to Lakeland Walmart. read more

Moldy food on the shelves. Seen people actually return fruits and vegetables with no seals on them. They will take underwear that was tossed on the dirty floor and put it back in the package and tape it up to put it back on the shelf. Do better read more

Florida Walmarts are fun. You can find any beach or water related item that you might need. The store is huge. It was a bit crowded but we found what we needed. Bonus points for pre made salads. It is fun watching the birds in the parking lot. They were probably herons or egrets. The greeters were nice. read more

I visit several family members here about four times a year and the store is my place for buying staples, gifts, office supplies, groceries, toiletries, and just about everything. Staff are always readily available to help you find what you are looking for. If you visit the store late night (9:30-11:00) you will witness the night crew fastidiously and efficiently restocking the inventory. It's a great time to shop while fewer customers are present and you can find what you need before it disappears the next day. Yesterday while in the store late afternoon, I experienced a sudden-onset episode of a chronic illness and wanted to thank their amazing employee named Claudia who came to my rescue. She was of tremendous help: so very professional and understanding, and I can't thank her enough. I will never forget her kindness! read more

This is the Walmart located at 355 Cypress Gardens, Winter Haven, FL I had a slight [miniscule] altercation with an employee/cashier this morning. I was civil and respectful to him, even if he wasn't as respectful to me. Topic being, why is it that in the morning, Walmart only opens self-pay/check-out lines to only take credit card/debit card, but no cash payment. I recently visited Arizona, and cashier made me feel like I was from Mars when she explained, "all our self-check-out lines accept cash, debit, credit, no worries here. At this Walmart, in Winter Haven, I had to go in one line to pay with card, then go with a cashier for him to take my cash. When I explained my plight to him, he wasn't receptive at all and said, "even if you please people, they'll complain." Which was a very stupid remark, because if they had self-pay [like store in Arizona I was speaking of] to accept credit, debit, and cash, employees would benefit from this as much as the customers. Last, when you pay a cashier, their rollers are disgustingly dirty, hence I prefer self-check-out on my lonesome self, to a cashier/agent. Just thought I'd post. read more

This store is trash. They usually don't have anything I need, so I only come here if I have to. Today, all of their self checkouts are closed (except for the "Mobile scan & go for members" lanes that you have to pay to be a member for) and the lines are the regular checkouts are super long and super slow. This store is poorly managed, filthy, constantly lacking stock grocery items and most of the "staff" are dumber than rocks. Rather than going to the Walmart out east on hwy 540 I chose to visit this location as it is close to my residence. As usual the store was busy. I found the majority of grocery items I had on my list except for apple cider. I asked at least 5 different Walmart employees if they could assist me in finding the apple cider. All of them acted as if they'd never heard of it before and none of them could tell me where it was located. Absolutely the worst and most disgusting Walmart I've ever shopped at. read more

Nope, Nope, Nope. Everything about this store is a big HUGE nope. First of all, don't ever bother calling to see if something is in stock unless you have abouy an hour of free time. Not only are ALL of the employees clueless, but they do not want to help you at all. I asked a simple question about whether or not a single product was in stock. I got hung up on TWICE, then I was tranferred and no one answered, then transferred again and no one answered again. Went there myself and again no one had a clue what to do. One of the cleanest Walmarts I've shopped in, however, checkout is frustrating. If a human cashier was available, we didn't see one. It's primarily all self checkout. a full cart is impossible to process without placing your bags on the floor, unless you are fortunate enough to find another empty cart close by. The tiny counter is insufficient at best. Some scanners are in need of a thorough cleaning. The rest rooms are spotless and have paper towels in addition to the germ blowing hand dryer. Maybe it's because I'm a small town girl at heart, or maybe it's because I'm home for the holidays, but this was one of the best WalMart experiences I've had in awhile. Even though this WalMart is in a smaller town, it provides a good experience. As per usual for WalMart, it was crowded and not too many lanes were open, but the service was spectacular! One attendant spent over 15 minutes helping my mom find the perfect shirt and pair of khakis. She dug through piles until we found what we were needed. That was really unexpected from WalMart. Another lady helped us out as well, even though she was on break. It could be the Christmas spirit abound, but it really made us feel welcome. read more

This is by far the worst managed Walmart. I've gone to the Walmart On the opposite end of Cypress Gardens, the one in Bartow, and the one in Lakeland. All three of those locations are far superior. Several times I've been to this location late in the evening, after work, just to find two over-flowing checkout lanes and the self-checkout is closed. "They need to count the money in self-check-out ," you might say. Well how come all three of these alternative locations never have the same issue? The employees at this Walmart location are completely incompetent. I purchased a book two days ago, then realized someone in my family already owned a copy. When I came today to return the book unopened and unused, the person at customer service rudely stated that it was against copyright laws for them to accept the return. When we asked questions about it, she just kept saying "it's the law," and "there are signs in the book area." It all seemed pretty fishy to me, so I quickly pulled up the return policy on Walmart's website. It stated the following: "BOOKS, MOVIES, MUSIC & VIDEO GAMES: must be returned within 90 days if unused, unopened and unmarked Books must be returned unused and unmarked." There was also no sign in the book area. There shouldn't have been an issue. They called over a manager and she looked over the book and also saw that it was unused. She told the other employee to complete the return, but that it was normally against their policy - even though it clearly states otherwise on their website. This Walmart location has rude employees which either blatantly lie or do not understand company policies. read more

This location just keeps going down hill. Went shopping this past Wednesday and wow it was horrible. Shelves were not stocked properly. Several freezers were out of order. If your into bums begging you for money, bums living inside the store, having people bother you as soon as you get out of your car to sign a petition or to sell you their "last" pound cake. People inside the store following you and wait till your alone in a aisle and beg you for money or gave you a sorry story for you to buy them food. Can't find what you need because they are constantly out of stock, food out of date still on shelf's, crowded isle because you have the workers with 2 pallets blocking the isle. Workers constantly playing on their phones, or goofing off with each other, can't find a manager when you need one because you have a concern. Bathrooms stinking up the whole front end and so damn disgusting that you rather go home. Then this the Walmart for you! This is how this store earned the name, The Ghetto Walmart. Welcome! I've been shopping at that Walmart since it open since you have to walk the whole store to find one register with a human being they put in scanning go if you're ordering one item that's great I had a $300 order nobody around to check me out one register open line with 20 people and i left the order sit there. I found Aldi's The prices are cheaper the people are friendlier what they don't have I can go to Publix very nice people they'll bag your food for you and take it to your car if you want them to I'm so glad that Walmart got self scanners I will never go back again read more

It's absolutely disgusting that not only did one of your employees flat out disrespect a disabled boy who needed a cart but then for the manager to apologize and promise that something would be done just to have the same thing happen to them minutes later. I have been going to this store since it opened many many years ago and it has had its ups and downs. Currently, the employees seem to be helpful and always smiling, with the exception of the pharmacy, where the employees look overworked and tired. The store has a good selection, but, not top notch and I have had to look elsewhere on many occasions for an item that I needed to buy. For the most part though I usually get everything I need there at a reasonable price. Overall the store is clean and has clean restrooms. If you go to the store on certain days and at certain times, you will run into the re-stocking crews and the inventory specialists who can clog up the aisles a bit. I knocked a whole star off my review for this location's online ordering knowledge and proficiency. I have ordered items "site to store" to this store twice from Walmart.com. The first time my order was ready but, I received no notification via text, email, etc. at all that it was, I just stopped in and asked and it was just sitting under the layaway counter. The second time I got an email saying my order was ready, I went to the store and not only was my order not ready but, the employees and manager couldn't even find my order in the system even though I had printed out my receipt and the confirmation and brought it with me. I don't like wasting fuel and time, and they wasted both. I also knocked off a star for parking. There is a large parking lot, but, it is shared with many other businesses and it is sometimes impossible to find a parking spot where you don't have to walk across the entire lot. I am a stroke survivor who is not fully disabled, but, who struggles with walking long distances on hot Central Florida days. They used to have a gentleman drive a long cart around the lot and pickup shoppers from the far end of the lot, but, for some reason they stopped doing it. The parking lot needs more shade in the form of trees, shaded seating, maybe even a couple of sun shades, etc. read more

Usually I'm not the biggest fan if wal mart then again I previously lived around Disney and all the locations in that area are a nightmare to go to fight and struggle with the tourist over load. We just moved to Winter Haven and like the area the wal mart has improved for us as well I love the slower pace and the quieter tone than say compared to the one off Vineland near the parks! Happier to be at this location and living a more small town feel! read more

It sucked, I'm disabled! Parked by garden center and went in no carts. Then there is a kid standing in there with his thumb up his but talking to girls. So I went and got a cart and did my shopping came back out thinking his was the cashier and was waiting for customers to come out and went to the register where he still didn't acknowledge me til I walked back up to him where he still had his thumb up his but talking to girls and I asked about him being the cashier and he said oh there is no cashier out here. I said well it would be nice if you told people that when they walked in instead of having your thumb up your but flirting with girls. And walked all the way back to the front checkout where I asked to speak to a manager and I was in line for ten minutes and still checked out and stood in front for five more minutes before a manager showed up to talk to me and I told her and she said she would go talk to him. Things have greatly improved at this store since my last review. Site to store is better. The shopping carts still need maintenance, worse of any store around. If you see one abandoned in the aisle, don't grab it, it's there because it needs be in the junkyard. The checkout manager seems to be more alert. read more

This Wal-Mart is HORRIBLE! Take the extra time, and drive 5 more minutes down the road to another Wal-Mart! The parking is always trashed and dangerous, the inside of the store reminds me of dumpster, the employees are possibly the rudest people I have ever had to deal with, they have rotten meat on the shelves (expiration date shows that it went out a week ago). There is almost always some sort of trash in that parking lot. I'm not talking about the normal trash you see in parking lots, I'm talking about rotten food and boxes that sit there for days at a time. This causes people to swerve almost hitting pedestrians. Inside the store, it's a nightmare! Stock isn't rotated, causing out of date food to sit on the shelves. The floor is greasy is some parts due to lack of sweeping and mopping. Clothes strung out on the floor in the clothing section. When I tried to get some help or bring up the problems to an employee or manager, I was quickly dismissed with a snarky remark. One day, I dropped by right quick to pull some from the ATM, the ATM ended up running out of money (I wanted to withdraw $200, only got $60 back). I asked a manager for help, she said it would be 5-10 minutes. She left me there for FOUR HOURS before getting me my money. I had to make a scene in order to get my money, and they didn't compensate me, apologize, or any of the sort. AVOID THIS WAL-MART LIKE THE PLAGUE! read more

I go to this store often because it is close to my work & today I used the self check out lane and realized when I returned to work I forgot a bag. I called the custmer service line and spoke to Sherry who was more than rude, I proceeded to ask for a manager but of course was put on hold. I was kept on hold and when I entered the store and got to the self check out dept the sweet cashier told me she had my items and after telling her what happened she got me a manager. I will say my trip back was not pleasant and I don't normally make a complaint because I know everyone has a bad day but Ms. Sherry was rude from beging to end of conversation. Regardless I will be back because almost all of the staff are very nice and cordial. The manager Aaron was very apolagetic which calmed me. So THANK YOU AARON! read more

If you are looking for service of any kind I would not recommend this location. The staff goes out of their way to be rude in every way possible. I am not the type to complain about service but I made a yelp account just to write this review. I consider myself to be a really polite person and am patient and kind when dealing with people. At this store I have had workers completely blow me off when I ask for help. The staff do not have knowledge about any of their products on anything I have ever asked. During Christmas I asked if they had gingerbread cookies and no one knew. I bought a TV there a few months ago and no one even knew which TV belonged to what barcode or could answer any of the very basic questions I had about the TV. Don't even think about trying to get ahold of them on the phone. Most likely you will wait for 15 minutes on hold before the call just ends without anyone answering. Tonight I called and to my surprise someone answered saying unenthusiastically as if I was really bothering them "Wassup this is WalMart" and I asked "Hello, is someone available in electronics". Their response was "I hope so" and then the line went dead with no hold signal. I called back and spoke with someone a little nicer who transferred me only for no one to pick up. This is the story of what its like every time I call them. Another time I went to buy a game and return an item. I was directed to a long line to wait where I was supposed to be able to return the item. I waited in that line for 20 minutes before being told they cannot do returns. Even in the simplest ways they cannot be helpful or professional and that is why they are working at WalMart. Despite their rude customer service I continue trying to throw my money at them but clearly customer service is not the top priority at WalMart. Its about getting the cheapest delinquents possible to work for nothing and provide the worst possible experience in every situation. I understand people who are uninformed being grumpy about working in retail, I have worked in retail, but these people are not only clueless about their products but straight up rude.
