I had heard that this was a good place to shop. I went specifically for a cookbook which someone had left in our library. Since it was priced at $5, I figured I'd just go buy a copy. Although I did not find the exact same one, I did find one similar, so I purchased that one. While in the store, I did go through the aisles to see if there was anything else I might like to purchase. It's a big place. They definitely have a wide variety of inventory and just about anything you might be looking for, but I wasn't impressed. If you are looking for books and art supplies, toys, clothes, household, even furniture, they probably have it. It's worth a try. Would I go there again. Well, maybe. read more

This store was a disaster on my first visit. Entire rows completely blocked on both sides by pallats of wrapped merchandise. Shouldn't these be in the back and brought out in small carts so on a Saturday afternoon your customers can get to the merchandise? Isles were strewn with merchandise everywhere. The lady said they had been super busy with the 15% off coupon that was sent to Ollie's Army Rewards members. I also got a 10% off coupon for my shopping level. Wish they would have separated these out so there weren't two coupons both expiring in November. The one thing I came for (protein bars) they had a very limited stock. That is one challenge with Ollie's because merchandise is constantly changing and is different from location to location. If they would cleanup the merchandise and remove the pallets the rating would go from 3 to 4 or 5. Checkout was quick and efficient. The register operator was nice. read more

If you collect comics, you owe it to yourself to visit Ollie's every few months or so. They have an awesome selection of trade paperbacks at crazy-low prices. I average about 80% off list price. You can't beat that! The selection here is smaller than the Orlando locations, but I still spent a good hour going through it. The person who arranged them needs to be horsewhipped. They're set up in a way that they will fall off the shelf if you're not careful. I broke a nail trying to catch a stack that was falling towards me. *PROTIP* Join Ollie's Army so you can get coupons. Ollie's is not a place I shop at often, but my mother loves it for lots of reasons. They did greatly impress me recently. My mum wanted a particular coffee maker and we had been driving all over town looking for it, just to find out that everyone was sold out. We came home and in the mail was an Ollie's flyer with an ad for that exact coffee maker! (No wonder no one had it. Ollie's is a discount store, specializing in close-outs.) It was already dinner time and mum was all upset thinking that it would be sold out by the next morning. I told her to call this store to see if they even had any before she started to worry. She called and spoke to someone who said they had a couple and promised they would hold one for her. To be honest, I wasn't that hopeful, but guess what? She showed up in the morning and not only did they have it, it was wrapped up with her name on it and safely stashed under a casher's counter waiting for her. So, besides a just nice place to get cheap snacks, discontinued stuff, and books for kids, it's also a place with really honest workers who go out of their way to make sure an elderly woman gets a coffee maker. read more

I don't shop here often but I do when I receive a15% off coupon, especially at Christmas. I buy all kids books here and also my donation to Toys of Tots. Lots of stuff I love looking at!!!!!! read more

Me and my husband love this store but let me say we were rather disappointed when we got to the register and there was a pregnant girl on her stool and a manager talking to her about her medical note in front of customers! That was such a fun place to visit!! I went with a friend and they have a little bit of everything for great prices! I got some towels that are made in the USA! We each bought some huge planting pots. I even got some snacks and hair products! I was so amazed to find such a variety in one store that's not called Walmart lol. It was a blast. Recently moved to the Lakeland area and I was very much impressed with what is offered here. Being a parent to multiple kids I find their deep cuts on books to be more affordable to keep my kids reading. They had plenty of options for my wife and I as well. A couple of the items were cheesy and "dollar store" quality, but for the most part you will see the same items as other name brand stores at a strong discount. 10/10 recommend. Every time I have gone in this store there is only one cashier with a line 10 people deep checking out. Yesterday again there was one cashier with a very long check out line. I noticed what might have been a manager (White male) walking around the front cashier area, he clearly saw the very long line, YET continued to do incidental stuff near front door area and walked near cashier area again, saw even longer line yet disappeared toward the back of the store. Where is the management of this store?? A few weeks ago I was shopping there and again only one cashier with over 12 customer deep trying to check out. Cashier told me me was the only one working in the entire store except for one supervisor, just the two of them all day. I shop here at least three times per week, I have this Ollies card they promote YET NEVER get any coupons or discounts with signing up for their Ollie's army card. Lack of cashiers and what appears to be very lax, complacent store management makes me not want to patronize this store for much longer. Piss poor management WILL lose you customers quickly. This Ollie's recently opened and is very popular (AKA crowded). It is a "junk" store and shoppers don't seem to give a !@#! about keeping the shelves orderly. It is difficult for 2 carts to pass in an aisle and there are lines at the registers. That being said, it's huge and full of discount bargains, from books, to food, to rugs, to vacuum cleaners to "As Seen on TV". As for me, not fond of the pushy crowd no manners mentality and will prefer to spend a few bucks more elsewhere. No carts for the disabled here. read more
