I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Stanton Optical. I made my situation very clear BEFORE my appointment and explained it to three different employees. I explained that I have a longstanding vision issue where one of my eyes cannot be corrected with a traditional glasses prescription, and that I have always received a "dummy lens" for that eye. No prescription, just plain glass like the try on pairs. I have seen countless optometrists throughout my life and have never had an issue getting my prescription because of this. I completely understand that not every provider may be able to accommodate my particular situation. My issue is not that they were unable to help me. My issue is that I disclosed the situation multiple times BEFORE even signing in for an appointment, they proceeded with my appointment, and was then charged $80 for an exam they ultimately could not complete. It is also important to understand how this location operates. There is no optometrist physically at the location. The appointment is conducted virtually, with an eye technician performing the initial portion of the exam, and an optometrist apparently reviewing the information remotely and issuing the prescription. In my case, I never even saw or spoke with the optometrist. Again, I am not leaving this review simply because they couldn't help me. I am disappointed because I was completely transparent about my situation ahead of time, yet I was still charged $80 for an exam that was not completed. For me, that made the entire experience a complete waste of both my time and my money.

The exam was very thorough & i was very pleased with the care from Dr Daniel about the general health of my eyes. After my exam i was helped with my frame selection to pick the best frame for me. Daniel Eye Care had a very wide variety of frames & im pretty sure it would come easy for anyone to be able to choose something from this office. I will be returning next year for my annual exam!!

Take your prescription and go!!!!…read more I would like to address some concerns regarding the experience my son had at your practice. While we appreciate the services provided, we found the pricing for frames to be considerably high. Additionally, we were not made aware of your refund policy concerning adjustments made shortly after purchase. Within in minutes of making our purchase we tried to get a refund and even asked that the claim to the insurance not be remitted. We have the time stamps of the purchase and the call. Emily even said that she was not sure if the claim had been remitted at the time of my call, yet Michelle refused to offer the refund. It is insurance and claims have the ability to be adjusted and cancelled. This office chooses not to... And on what Emily said, because of the trauma that the office received from some consumers not liking their frames once received, the refuse to allow consumers to get refunds or make adjustments, a benefit that most vision centers offer to consumers... lencrafters, Sams club, walmart, Costco.... and many more allow this option..... GO TO AN OPTOMETRY OFFICE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO LIKE THE WAY THAT YOU LOOK IN YOUR FRAME. That understands that consumers do have the same level of health literacy that a healthcare provider has. There are many offices that will allow you to make adjustments or provide you other options that are not at your expense. I noticed that my son paid significantly more than what he could have found by exploring other retail or online options. In today's economic climate, it would be beneficial for healthcare providers to assist consumers in saving money. Not spending unnecessarily. Unfortunately, we feel that the optician could have provided clearer information about the financial implications of exceeding the insurance coverage limit. The frame is the way the doctors office makes their money!! I work in healthcare so I am aware of this. Most consumers do not know or understand that this is the business plan of the optometry office. Furthermore, we were unaware that the office does not stock lower-cost options that would be covered by insurance. ... They don't even stock the the items that are covered under our benefit. This oversight led to my son purchasing a more expensive frame without fully understanding his options. I appreciate your attention to these matters and hope for improved communication for your patients in the future. Patient should know that there are vision centers and optician offices with healthcare providers who care about them more than a policy.
