They have a swimming pool which is smaller but we still enjoyed it. The office's hours are 10-7, which sucked for our attempt at an early checkout and on the road. The kitchen was closed our entire stay so we weren't able to order food here. We liked the cornhole which was next to our cabin. Another note is that the WiFi is absolutely terrible and will drop your devices constantly and only operates at 2G. The driveway up to the KOA also is super hard on your vehicle. This campground was close enough to hikes at Hocking Hills but we probably wouldn't stay ever again.

The camp is smaller than you would imagine from the website but the majority of sites on the grounds give you the amenities you would need, there is potable water sites sprinkled through the grounds as well as outhouses for men and women across the sites. The main part i enjoyed was how few other campers i saw i have heard that the main state park campground can get crowded but palmerosa does not have that problem at all, when i arrived i was even given the opportunity to swap to a more preferred site upon seeing the options in person (although i cant say this is a ground rule). Speaking to that the staff was wonderful we met one nice gentleman who accommodated us with our questions and equipment and was all around helpful and friendly. Palmerosa also allows horses which i cant speak much to as i didnt do that but we saw one group with two horses and those horses looked happy and the people taking care of them looked satisfied. In my opinion palmerosa is the perfect spot for someone who wants tread the line on primitive camping while its out of the way and secluded but close enough to attractions and town for you to not be far from fun. You are almost relegated to smaller coves as you try to escape the waves caused by power boats. Not at Lake Hope State Park as boaters are restricted to electric motors only. My wife is all about the well maintained mountain bike trails. We were both all about the small camping pads and many non electric sites. This meant that as tent campers we were not back to back with massive RVs. And our dog was all about all of it, especially since a state park means that he gets to hang out with his pack!  On the down side, there was only one water spigot, one near the check in, that was marked as potable. Perhaps the others throughout the campground are and are not marked. However, we chose to only get water from that spigot. The spigot that was closest to our campsite was way too close to the pit toilet for me to feel comfortable drinking without filtering/boiling.  While we didn't get the chance to actually take our boats off the car, thanks to thunderstorms, we did drive around and find some spots that would work perfectly as put ins. There's a space just off the main road that would work for those who are kayaking, canoeing, or SUPing. The drive to and from LHSP was beautiful, with the visual elevation changes. I loved that it was almost in the HHills area but lacked all the folks (and the restrictions on dogs)! Lake Hope State Park is a place that we will hands down visit again. Although, our first visit there was filled with thunderstorms- we managed to stay dry and camped anyway!

The online pictures created expectations that simply were not met when we arrived. To make matters worse, campsites were not clearly labeled, which resulted in another camper taking our reserved site. Management was very disorganized and, instead of taking responsibility and resolving issues efficiently, seemed to have an excuse for everything. The site we were ultimately assigned was basically a mud pit and not suitable for the premium price we paid. Many of the amenities advertised were either under construction or unavailable during our stay, yet this was not adequately communicated beforehand. We chose this campground and paid the higher rates expecting the advertised experience, but what we received fell far short. For the amount of money spent, this campground was simply not worth it. Hocking Hills itself is beautiful, but we left feeling frustrated and misled. Unfortunately, we will not be returning and cannot recommend this campground to others.

False advertisement for pool on the premises. Shower house on a Friday evening was ridiculous. The first door was locked to a shower, second one shower head didn't work, and the 4th was draining improperly, leaving one working shower. Would not recommend at all.

To my surprise, there was still an available time slot so I quickly booked it and waited with anticipation for our time to arrive. We checked in at the front office where we were greeted politely and were given instructions on how to get to, enter and use our sauna pod. The Pods are located right across the street from the Chalets so I was worried at first about having adequate privacy but once we entered the Pod I felt I was transported to the middle of the woods. My favorite part of the Pod was that it was Bluetooth equipped so I was able to play some folk music over the speakers to enhance my woodsy experience. Towels and bottled water are also provided for you in the Pod. We booked an hour, which I thought might be too long in the heat for me personally but after taking the recommended breaks, it didn't feel long enough. We emerged from our Pod soaking in sweat but refreshed and with every endorphin in our bodies firing. It was a fabulous experience!

I booked online and the process was really easy. I got reminder emails, a welcome message when it was time to check-in and everything was contactless when I arrived. While I spent a good amount of time outside of my cabin (Laurelwood), I also spent a good amount of time there. It snowed a lot so I soaked up the giant window views, enjoyed the hot tub, and lots of relaxing. My only big complaint was that of the cabin itself. I couldn't figure out what it was but the entire building was just loud. Like so loud, I couldn't sleep. Had I known, I would have brought ear plugs and trust me, I have them thanks to living in the city. Despite not being able to sleep my two nights there, and constant loud ass humming all throughout, the rest of the experience was solid. The space was comfy, included all the necessities, and they even plowed the driveway after the snow. I love coming here and the Chalets are a great choice. I just might ask about the sound issues on my next visit.

I had booked the lodge in December for a June stay and all arrival instructions were clearly articulated. House was very clean, furniture was comfortable, and you are about 10 minutes from Old Man's Cave. If you need something from Logan it is more of a 25-30 minute drive to a Walmart or Kroger. Also included staying here is a pool pass good for 12. I highly recommend the Gray Wolf lodge. It was a great experience in the Hocking Hills.

We arrived at Hocking Hills Saturday afternoon, hiked and hung out at the lodge. We then went to our cabin, arriving around 7:00 pm tired and ready for a campfire. But...the driveway was too steep for my SUV to climb. We attempted 4 times and gave up, there was no way my car was going to make it up the hill. We couldn't even see the cabin it was up a huge hill and around a bend. The reservation warned of a steep incline so I called the office when I made the reservation and was told that its only a problem in inclement weather - that was not true! I have a 2024 SUV, I do not have an old car that would be questionable. We couldn't get cell service to call the office so we left and drove to the nearest hotel thinking we would find somewhere else to stay. I reached a lady at Cabins by the Caves and was told we should have been able to get up the hill - her car gets up the hill with no problem and so does the cleaning ladies. Well - my car couldn't and I wasn't going to burn up the engine trying. She eventually gave me my money back and told us "never call again". We tried 4 hotels in the area, all were booked. We had no choice but to drive all the way back home. Needless to say our weekend was a bust. We lost money on our zipline tour and we lost our weekend. DO NOT RENT THIS CABIN WITHOUT A 4 WHEEL DRIVE!!

From the way the owner is so welcoming, to how cute the cabin is decorated, to the amazing jacuzzi and porch swing on the back porch - this cabin is a little slice of heaven. It's so close to everything in Hocking Hills, yet so quietly secluded down a little private entrance past a pond (where deer are often grazing) off the beaten path just far enough away from the other Cabins in the Pines. After a long day of canoeing, horseback riding or hiking, you can enjoy the jacuzzi to ease your muscles and then make s'mores over the campfire in a fire ring that's at a short but safe distance from the cabin. If you haven't stayed here yet, you should book it ASAP. You will be so happy that you did!

The cabin was fairly secluded, but not too far from shopping... It's in a back road, and though there were some other dwellings nearby, we never felt intruded upon or otherwise near anyone else (note: we were there in late winter, so the trees were bare... In the late spring/summer/fall, this wouldn't be a factor). The cabin itself was FLAWLESSLY maintained and equipped... We had plenty of firewood, propane, toilet paper, dishes, utensils, etc. Everything was clean and in it's place... The kitchen, bathroom, outdoor propane grill, and hot tub were immaculate... Decor was just what it should be; log cabin charming... Our cell phones had no service, but internet and satellite TV worked reliably... Even had a blue-ray player and a small but adequate sound-system that we could hear on the back porch while having a romantic dinner al fresco... Clean and functional bathroom with shower, bath, modern toilet, large capacity hot water tank, first aid kit, plunger, vacuum, etc... Seriously, better equipped than even your better motor lodges.. There are even some personal touches/fun games that the proprietors play with their guests, if you wish to participate (Just make sure to read the guest book/literature that is left for you!) :-) A day spa, this is not.. But for a TRUE quaint, "home-away-from-home," it is... We WILL be back, and WILL recommend to friends... Well done!!!

It is located close to the office and the larger cabin/lodge, but it is set in a way that we still had complete privacy. We enjoyed the cat that was often there when we opened the door, and also had a lot of fun with the dollar game! We spoke with the owners a couple of times during our stay and they were great as well! We will definitely be back! I can't think of any reason to stay anywhere else!
