We had two RV sites reserved at Suncatcher Lake RV Park for a one-night stay on June 26, 2026. Our…read morereservation was confirmed and paid in full directly with the park via phone on March 5, 2026. Exactly 30 days before our scheduled arrival, I received an email informing us that our reservation was being canceled because the park has implemented a new policy requiring a two-night minimum stay beginning June 1, 2026. Rather than honor our existing reservations that were made nearly three months before the policy change, they chose to cancel our confirmed booking. What was most disappointing was the way the situation was handled. There was no courtesy phone call, no opportunity to discuss possible solutions, and no genuine concern given to the inconvenience this caused. When I attempted to contact the park by phone, my calls were not answered or returned, and management ultimately stated by email that the decision was not up for negotiation and they would not call or discuss the matter further. While a refund was issued, it does not change the inconvenience and additional expense caused by having to find alternative accommodations on relatively short notice. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this campground due to the way management handled the situation and their unwillingness to communicate with customers when concerns were raised. Dan the owner was overly helpful on so many levels. He helped set up and insulated my water for the crazy cold KC winters. Plus I didn't have the best sewer connection, he ended up creating a pvc pipe connection for me. It's a great place for long stay parking, especially if you are in KC for a few months working like I was. It's very clean and well lit. Full hookups for 50 or 30 amp electricity, water and sewer. There is no WiFi or cable. I ordered an AT&T DSL as the other local companies don't service the area. AT&T was great. You pay the monthly electricity and water is included. Call first, set up a meeting with Fan and schedule a time to pull in. I have a 1989 24' Class C and a perfect spot, but there were quite a few larger Motorhomes and Campers.

Large Full Hookup Sites…read more I've stayed here twice now with a very long 5th wheel RV. Both times, I made my reservation by phone (816-503-4805). The reservationist was very pleasant both times. I've only stayed in the West Loop and only in Site 73. This site is large and on a corner. It slopes to the front (street) pretty good. Bring leveling blocks for the front of your RV. The site is very deep and should accommodate the largest of RVs. The site has 50 amp power, water and sewer with partial shade at the back. Satellite from the roof is perfect here. I paid $30 per night in July 2017. I'd stay here again. Clean and quiet and not far from shopping, restaurants etc.

It was remotely located down a gravel road, and had a beautiful welcoming front entrance. The whole grounds had lovely old trees which gave it a beautiful natural feel. We chose to stay in a small bathroom-less "cabin" rather than tent since it was going to just be a quick overnight stay (and forecasted to rain in the a.m.). As with the last two places, this was an AANR nudist resort, not clothing optional. It was perfect weather so we took a dip in the in-ground pool and met some lovely members. The hot tub was hopping & we listened to stories & shared ours. Only one couple had been to any FL resorts or any other nudist resorts. It is in a pretty remote area. They had a second above-ground "activity"pool reserved for lap swimming, aerobics, and pool volleyball. Both pools had newer deck areas around them & the sunning deck had new colorful chairs & umbrellas. The rest of the facilities were quite a bit older (probably original from the 70's) & starting to look & feel a little sad and in need of some structural & esthetic updates. Same with our "cabin" - it was a small structure divided into two bedrooms by a flimsy, thin wall. That's all we're gonna to say about that. The small, stuffy clubhouse has a fully stocked community kitchen. It doesn't look like it's used for anything more than that. But it was clean & functional & appreciated. There was also a large covered pavilion with an outdoor kitchen area. Their old sand volleyball court was turned into a pickleball court, which was next to a remote-controlled car dirt track. Seems to be a thing in the mid-west. Wish we could be there for one of those events. There is a huge, very flat open field which they said they use for fireworks displays, Molke, and golf cart races! We strolled up on their weekly game of Molke & were quickly invited to play. We love this about nudist places - everyone is always welcoming & inclusive. This club only allows a limited amount of male or female single visitors or members (10% of their membership) so keep that in mind. And after 3 visits, you have to become a member. It is a co-op where everyone is expected to pitch in to maintain the facilities & grounds to some degree. If you visit, look for the many adorable (mostly nude) gnomes sprinkled throughout the common areas. It was almost like a scavenger hunt to find them all. It lent itself to the rustic whimsy of the place!

For $60 a night it's not very worth is, they didn't even have ice cream to serve at this time. Yes I'm fully aware COVID-19 is a thing at this moment but, most playgrounds and ice cream shops are open near by! Public restrooms are also closed. All campers around us were also very friendly also! This site might be best with couples/families with no young kids at this moment.

Gaea Retreat Center is a special place. I visited it in July of 2025 and was amazed at how peaceful…read moreand lovely it was. It is a place where nature is protected, and people are valued. I felt safe and welcome. I visited with many people that day, including one staff member. All were fun, relaxed and so kind. I was told there is sacred ground there. In truth, all ground is sacred, but I know what they meant. I was away from my day to day troubles and felt a bit like Alice in Wonderland, the world was unique, not normal in the best of ways. Walking a trail, I came a cross a small treasure chest near a old campfire sight. I even walked the trail in the buff, loving the breeze and enjoying the peace. I left reinvigorated and ready for what life has next. I will be back and am glad to recommend this wonderful place.

Weston Bend State Park is a peaceful and beautiful spot located near the town of Weston, MO. The…read morepark is famous for its picturesque beauty, walking trails that winds through forests overlooking the Missouri River. I visited the park in winter last yr and fell in love with it. Primarily I just hiked around but I saw many people bird watching, and enjoying the quiet nature as well. The best part is the scenic overlook that gives a beautiful view of the river valley, especially at sunset. When I visited the park, it felt calm and less crowded. That definitely makes it a nice place for families or anyone who wants a break from busy life. My suggestion to everyone one is to hike at this park and then head to the town of Weston to enjoy some hot wine at Pritle Wineries followed by amazing food at the O'malleys pub.

If you hike along the West Ridge you will climb up to the ridge and come up to some overlooks that look into Kansas. The park was unmanned on Indigenous Peoples Day, but folks were able to access the park. If you have pets, the park has a small dog park at the front end. Plenty of benches can be found along the lower trails to take a load off. Right now the leaves are turning into their fall shades and the birds that come in the fall are arriving for the birders that are on the hunt. Plenty of information can be found at the trail head. There are clean bathrooms. The water fountains don't work, but the taps do. The weather today was awesome. I will return.

We arrived late and left very early so I forgot to take pics!!! But, this RV Park is worth…read morementioning. Even though we made the reservations late the owners were very friendly and kind. Our lot info was located in a convenient spot to pickup along with a map to find the campsite. We wish we had taken the time to take advantage of the free things like fishing, swimming pool, volleyball, and campfire. Noticing all the bikes and play equipment, it must be kid and small dog friendly as well. With the reasonable rates, it's a foresure place to check out!
