Bringing hale down a few notches. Since the pandemic started, Hale has had to make up for funding…read moreby charging people a $10 day parking pass or a seasonal pass which was fine. Since then, they have operated at almost normal capacity and now rent out the main beach, run camps etc. I think they can let go of the parking fee or at least reduce it. They claim it's to pay for things like roads and services etc. well I haven't seen one road repaired in the years I've been going. Because of the parking fee I definitely go less. I went yesterday with my two young sons and a party rented the main beach. We were told we couldn't fish off the dock but then gave us a little time before the party started which was within minutes of us being there. The kids decided to play in the sand and shortly after was told they couldn't because of the "party". Another woman was way off to the end of the beach with a baby less than a year old, and she was told she couldn't be there. None of us were interfering with the party and it just felt wrong for a Saturday to reserve a whole beach area to a party. Especially when the party wasn't using the whole beach. They should coordinate that a little better to allow for the public to use a certain area during times like that. They had about 7-10 life guards there sitting under a canopy. Maybe that's part of the problem as far as funds go. They need to reevaluate. Took me a while to get ready for a short day of fishing with my boys. Loading up the car, cooler, walking to the area and basically leaving after 10 mins was a wasted day. I could of gone somewhere else and enjoyed the sun. Was frustrating. The place could also use some upkeep to the trails and landscaping to allow for more areas to fish from. I've complained about hornets nest near trails where I was attacked one time and nothing was done. Keeping clear paths allows for a clear view rather than heavy cover where you can't see snakes (which I've also encountered), and avoiding ticks. Just a few things to point out since my first days of experiencing Hale.

There is a room with a couch and some tables, there is mirrors on the wall in that room aswell, they do have 3 tvs in the waiting room, 1 tv has camera footage of studio A and the other one studio B, the last tv just switches through a slideshow, one of the slides is about the information about what the big theme of all the dances are about, they do have a water dispenser in both studio A & B what is very convenient for dancers, the dance teachers go through steps step-by-step and are always there to help you if you need it! There's a computer room for the seniors to utilize, free legal advice for seniors, and a small little gym with a treadmill etc. They also have a pool table for those loved ones of yours that desire to play pool. They hold certain lunches, like a St. Patrick's day lunch, Thanksgiving lunch. They even have classes like yoga and Zumba that they have instructors from other areas come in to teach. The have some individuals from the local hospital also do strength training for the elderly and people of all ages can many times attend these. However she didn't like one of the last girls that was doing strength training. She thought she was too hard and mean. But there's always other classes they can sign up for - or the general public can sign up for - usually at a discounted rate, but might still hurt a limited income's budget. My family and I have been coming here 6 years strong…read more The staff are available by email, phone, and various social media accounts. The families that join come from all over Massachusetts. We're even able to reach the coaches by cell in case of emergencies. We've enjoyed everything from their one on one lessons of hitting and pitching skills, their work out room, as well as their family friendly games. I highly recommend this place and I've put all of my children through it. My husband enjoys utilizing the facilities when we wait during practice. They even offer school break camps at an affordable price as well as their summer camps. Our youngest will be joining dirt pups this year. Plenty of pics and video feed online and you can see for yourselves what an amazing organization this place is to be part of whether win or lose.

He was in the pre-school room as it was his last year before starting kindergarten. It was such a great experience. Not only did it prepare him for kindergarten (writing his first and last name, eating lunch within 30 minutes, etc) but he learned so much through the other programming (Black History month, Women's History month). He adores every single teacher and director at Merry Deb, and he was so excited to get to go back for "summer camp" for a few weeks this summer in between the other camps he is attending. If you are looking for a pre-school in the area, I cannot recommend Merry Deb highly enough!
