We loved this place last year - we used to go for dinner after the early shows. Unfortunately, despite me ringing and asking and being told 'yes' they do not have the full menu after any show anymore. So, we settled in for the 'Supper menu'. Well... the did not give us the supper menu - we got the 'bar menu' - when questioned we were told 'this is all we have after shows'. Well, why have a supper menu????
The bar menu is short - 5 items - we ordered 4 of the 5. The arancini was acceptable - not memorable - kind of what you have when eating is because your hungry and need something - not something when you want to enjoy the food - I suspect they are not made on the premises. The duck salad was not good - the duck was so overcooked and stringy that it is likely to have been left overs. It was as bland and tasteless as the greens it was served with - fortunately we were not relying on it to fill us. The meat balls.... really? The charcuterie board... we asked why there were packet bread sticks (yes the dry crusty things from coles) instead of sour dough - we were told it is never served with sour dough - we asked the waitress to look at the menu because it certainly says it is - only to be told they had run out of bread and that was all there was.
The staff bluff their way through. One thing - there are two women who seem to manage the restaurant - one thing I have noticed over an extended period of time - and this is worth keeping in mind when you re there - the women with brown shoulder length hair is always friendly and helpful. The woman with blonde shorter hair is never friendly or helpful but apparently always terribly, terribly busy.
After enthusiastically embracing this restaurant last year I could not recommend it. read more
