For anyone considering this practice, it is important to understand that the office does not send bills directly. They use an external billing company that operates entirely paperlessly. Patients do not receive paper statements, email notifications, or patient portal alerts when a balance becomes due. In practice, payments are considered due immediately, as there is no period between when a patient is notified of a charge and when payment is expected. According to the office, the only notification patients receive is a phone call the day before an appointment if they have an outstanding balance greater than $100. This would be less concerning if the office could explain the charges being collected. However, when I asked for details about my balance, the staff could not provide even basic information, such as the date of service associated with the charge. Instead, I was told that it was my responsibility to contact my insurance company to determine what had been paid, what had been denied, and what the balance might be for. In other words, the insurance company, not the medical practice, was expected to explain the bill. My primary concern is the apparent lack of focus on patient care. When I received the call regarding my balance, I requested information about the charge before making a payment. Since the office could not provide any details, I contacted my insurance company to investigate. While I was doing so, my appointment was canceled. I later spoke with the office manager, who explained that it is the practice's policy to cancel appointments for unpaid balances, even when patients are given less than four hours to determine what they are being asked to pay for. I was further told that making an exception would be considered discriminatory to other patients. Patients should be provided with basic billing information and a reasonable opportunity to review charges before appointments are canceled. I will be moving my care to another practice with a more transparent, mature and patient-friendly billing system.

If the system wasn't supposed to let me do that, that's an issue on their end, not mine. I drove over 50 minutes to this appointment, only to get a call in the parking lot telling me they didn't know how I was able to schedule and that I shouldn't have made the appointment the way I did. Instead of listening or troubleshooting, the front desk staff kept arguing with me and insisting I booked it wrong even after I explained that their own app allowed it. It was frustrating and honestly felt very dismissive. This was especially disappointing because I was referred here by my primary care provider, so I came in expecting a smooth and professional experience. On top of that, I had been waiting for some time. someone from the office was supposed to call me to schedule in the first place, and no one ever did. When I called myself, I was told I would get a callback...which never happened. At that point, I decided it was better to leave and find another office. The front desk is often a reflection of the professionalism and care within the rest of the practice, and based on this, I didn't feel confident moving forward. A healthcare office should be understanding, solutions oriented and respectful of patients' time, especially when the patient has driven nearly an hour to get there.
