My boyfriend and I took a day trip up to the Holden Arboretum from the Cleveland area and were slightly disappointed. The admission fee per person was $21. The trails were very nicely paved and gorgeous, but the canopy walk and the tower were closed. I wish they would have disclosed this when we were buying our tickets. If you leave near the Cleveland Metroparks you are better off just walking the trails for free. The scenery is pretty much the same in the metroparks.

What a gorgeous place to stroll around with friends! Climbing the tower is a must! Gives you some great ideas for home landscaping. Be prepared to walk, a lot! Beautiful event venue and photo opportunities

Beautiful time and what a view! I loved it!!!! Super time. I will be back. The skulls for Holloween was amazing.

The parking lot here was full when I pulled in, but once you get in, it didn't feel crowded. The grounds are very spread out, with nicely maintained paved trails/paths around several ponds and many curated garden beds. It is pet friendly, my dog found a lot to check out, including the pollinator train, which she was very interested in. We also explored the ponds and a bird watching blind. There are a few restrooms on the grounds. It feels a bit unfair to review, because we maybe saw 20% of what there was to see, but had a great time and will for sure be back!

Beautiful grounds!! The Holden Arboretum is located on the east side of Cleveland, specifically in Kirtland, Ohio. If you love big parks, lush woodlands, and trees then this is the place to visit. The whole area is huge so you'll have plenty of time spent walking outside enjoying the fresh air. Bring your family or friends and make it a fun day trip. INFO. -- "The Holden Arboretum encompasses an expansive 3,500 acres including lush woodlands and 200 acres dedicated to thoughtfully cultivated gardens".... I visited in April 2023 with 2 friends on a Sunday afternoon. It was quite a chilly/cold day but we all managed to keep warm with our light jackets. We went on the Murch Canopy walk (named after Maynard Murch) and the Kalberer Emergent Tower. Both experiences were fun but it can be nerve recking if you are scared of heights especially the Emergent Tower because you have to walk up plenty of steps so as you go further up, you realize that you are high up there. The view on top of the tower is really lovely because of all the trees. The Murch Canopy Walk isn't as scary if you are scared of heights because it isn't too elevated above the ground; however, it is shaky so you can hold on to the side net as you walk across it. My friends and I had fun walking across the canopy while laughing about the shakiness. There are 2 straight paths to walk on and then you can turn around. There was an issue with me getting inside which caused about a 7 minute delay. Even though I had a ticket, the woman at the gate couldn't scan me or find my ticket in the system for some reason. Eventually, it was figured out. I can't remember if I had a free ticket or some other deal, but I don't believe I paid the regular approx. $20 entry rate. I'm writing this review over a year after I visited the Holden so I don't remember what the specifics of the ticket issue was but I'm happy it was figured out. If I lived closer, I would definitely visit more often but I recommend taking a day trip to The Holden Arboretum. Also, stop into their gift shop and take a peak at their offerings sold. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 27/150 total reviews in 2024 - 677 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 11 May 2024

A friend and I took a guided bird watching walk yesterday and it was very informative and interesting. Stan was our guide and was clearly very knowledgeable about birding. We had a group of about 12 people and the walk covered approximately 3 miles in 3 hours. I learned birding is not for the faint of heart. There is so much to know and patience is key. The Arboretum itself is beautiful, so just walking around is rejuvenating. We started early to catch as many species of birds possible. It is fascinating how many bird migrate through such a small area. I also learned about a new app that identifies bird calls. As with any hike be prepared for uneven ground and ticks. I did find a couple of ticks on me when I finished. It has been reported to be a bad tick season. Also dress for the weather. There is a decent amount muddy ground after a rain. Overall a fun experience!

What a peaceful place for a walk. Blueberry pond was my favorite. Saw a snake on the path! If it so much as looks like it could rain, take an umbrella!!! You'll be far from shelter and will regret it if you don't.

Always a nice walk on pavement or small gravel. The views of flowers and trees change seasonally. August's special exhibit is the nature themed Legos scattered throughout the plants near the front walks of the 3500 acres. A tram, for a cost, gives a one-hour tour of the grounds. The Visitor's Center has an information desk, cold drinks for sale, a gift shop and restrooms. Check out the garden behind the building.

We love visiting the arboretum and finally decided to become members. We bought our membership and visited a few weeks ago. We love getting there right when they open and beginning to explore. The canopy walk and emergent tower are certainly favorites. Parking is free.

I've been wanting to visit Holden Arboretum for years, and finally made it over in 2022! Luckily, not only was I able to visit this year, but the weather was beautiful/warm/sunny. The line took awhile to get in and buy tickets. I recommend purchasing tickets online prior to visiting. $20 per person is very pricey, as the parks are free and have beautiful views of the fall foliage as well (if you know where to go). The canopy walk had a small line and a beautiful experience. Although, the emergent tower was breathtaking. Make sure you get there when they first open, otherwise you'll be waiting in line for over an hour. The fall foliage is unlike anything I've personally ever seen before and made for some great pics! Even though the price is ridiculously high, I recommend everyone try to visit at least once and milk it out the day there as long as possible.

Holden arboretum is a gem. Highly recommend the canopy walk as well as the tower. The canopy walk (particularly in fall) is breath taking with views of the changing foliage. It spans 500 feet and you feel as though you are walking amongst the tree tops. The tower is 12 stories high, with breath taking views of the county leading up to Lake Erie in the distance. Plan to spend 3-4 hours exploring the arboretum. Admission is $19/adult when purchased online or $20/adult when purchased at the door.

Beautiful! The beauty of nature and the activities were relaxing and calming. I walked the trails and explored the flowers. I even spied a humming bird. The arboretum displayed a butterfly and other interesting things made out Legos. Very nice. I guess this was also to attract older and younger generations enjoy and explore.

If you love nature. This is the place for you. I paid for a single day ticket. At the end of my experience. I upgraded to the year pass. They have a tower that gets you above the trees. To view 360 degrees of visibility. They also have a canopy walk. Which gets you up off the ground and in the canopy of the trees. I have been here about six times in past three months. I will keep coming back.

It had less variety and square footage than the free city greenhouse, Rockefeller Gardens (stellar place!). My 8 yr old's admission was a joke because she declared it was very hot and stepped outside to the front desk and gift shop within a minute of stepping inside. Honestly, children under 10 should be free with the amount of interest holding them there. There was only 1 other separate room with some bonsais and a caged chameleon that was displayed in a way that was hard to see. In mid April, many flowers/fruits still weren't in bloom or already bloomed or I don't know. The conservatory itself only gets 3 stars in my opinion but the best part is actually the outer grounds and trails. The trails were great and we got to see all sorts of birds (blue jays, mallards, Canadian geese, woodpeckers, finches, etc.), squirrels, chipmunks, deer. The small garden area surrounding the butterfly cage was cute. We also saw the world's cutest dog there that I mistook for a rabbit--a baby French bulldog.

And I wanted to embrace the fall colors. But, I wanted a path that wouldn't be muddy. I made an impromptu decision to take my son and boyfriend to Miller Nature Preserve because I knew it would be dry inside the conservatory and from what I remembered, there were some paths along the building outside. We started inside, which is amazing on its own. We paid $2 per person to go inside and experience the warm humid climate and jungle like setting. Tropical plants are everywhere, along with some cactus and bonsai trees. It's a great place to go anytime of year, but I would imagine winter months would be very enjoyable here to warm up and see some greenery. Then we walked around outside in their garden areas, which is really pretty too. Not too much to look at this time of year as everything is transitioning to winter. We were surprised to find a gravel path that went into the woods outside of the parking lot. We didn't pay attention to the map posted at the beginning of the trail, as we assumed it would be a short path. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised and very wrong! We walked through the woods for about an hour. We didn't see anyone else on the path so it was quite magical. The trees were just starting to change and the sun would peak out from the clouds occasionally. At some point the path seemed to feel like we were on someone's private property, and we were very confused, but the garden area we came across was beautiful. All sorts of cool stones, a little pond, and millstones galore. Then we somehow ended up on the trail again, which ran next to a creek. There were benches scattered about the trail as well. I never knew these trails were back there! It was an enjoyable adventure and I hope to come back soon!

Pollinators (bees, butterflies, moths, etc) are an essential part of the ecosystem. They allow native plants to survive and are important in food crop production. To help fight the decline in pollinators, Cuyahoga Falls planted this butterfly garden at the entrance of High Bridge Glens Park. It has a cute, butterfly themed rod iron entryway. Again, this garden is small, but if you catch it in bloom, I imagine it's magical. I did spot a baby monarch and that made me so happy! I loved the two signs on the property explaining what types of butterflies and flowers you might see. This would be a wonderful place to bring kids and help instill an appreciation for protecting nature. However, because this spot is small, keep that in mind during the pandemic, as it's not a space I'd care to share with anyone at all. I want to live in a world where our pollinators, particularly bees and butterflies, aren't at such a high risk of extinction. Great job to the City of Cuyahoga Falls!
