They were then contracted for bookkeeping and accounting. Over time the price kept going up. No surprise of a firm like this but they charge for everything, just answering the phone is another $175. Their invoices were a mystery with only a variable monthly charge but no detail as to why. They missed 3 sales tax filings in 2 years costing us penalties. Every year when they did our annual taxes, they pulled their fee out of the wrong account leaving that store cash poor until we would notice and transfer from the correct account. In the end when terminated their service the last invoice wasn't the last. Another one showed up for supposed work they did when we were closed for covid. Don't know since their invoices have no detail. And right after that we found out that we again owed penalties and interest in sales tax for the last quarter they invoiced us for. Talked about terminating them a year before so I guess it's our fault for waiting.

When the Fullerton police arrived they barged in began questioning me as if I was some criminal (I'm a C5 quadriplegic with no left arm) I was in a very unnatural painful position and lacking water of which they made no effort to help me with. The police, as they grilled me with the same questions repeatedly, began searching my house, top to bottom, finally after searching every room cupboard and closet they went into my gun room and decided to take all the guns and ammunition left out in open sight which amounted to 5 long guns and several boxes of ammunition and told me the reason for taking them was because for the fear of my despondent ex-employee from coming back and harming me. After hours of holding a keeping my sister from helping me, under supervision they finally let her put clothes on me position me comfortably and give me water. I instantly felt better. They kept us both in my room while searching the house. After the bomb squad left they gave me an incorrect incomplete list of what they were taking. The next day I called a long time friend and attorney and told him my horrible experience the night before. He spoke with another friend and attorney and they both agreed that the man for the job was definitely Ed Welbourn! I call his office and made an appointment. During my meeting I met the whole team of C W S Attorneys at Law. They explained how they worked and the kind of work they do, how long they've been lawyers and what they needed from me. I told them what happened and gave them the entire 1 paper they gave me. Mr. Welbourne and Stokke looked up my case and that's how I found out that the police had charged me with 4 felony counts one of which was possession of an automatic weapon and one of an explosive device as well as a silencer and illegal .50BMG ammunition. Ed had explained that he would have to look into the case fully before he could decide if he could help me. I assured him that I had never had anything of the sort and that due to their inexperience and incompetence they were wrong. Ed and Al told me they'd take my case. They told me the cost and considering the charges, my condition and the consequences I agreed. I have to say, as I've said before in my condition jail wasn't an option and for a very long time, I was scared, even though there was no way I was in the wrong. Also I have to say the cost to me was exceptionally reasonable! This long story short I appeared in court once and for almost a year, Ed appeared for me every time! He got the case thrown out of felony court into a lesser court and from there appearance after appearance he kept showing and proving that not only were the Fullerton Police in the wrong but so were the charges. In the end Ed Welbourne reduced this case to nothing, nada, ZIP! It's over and sealed as if nothing happened! I'm now in the process of getting everything returned that was confiscated by Fullerton Police Department. As far as I'm concerned Ed Welbourne is the Jason Bourne of the courthouse! Thank you Ed! First, he is condescending to his clients thinking we all know the law only from TV. Next, he is emotionally unstable, jumping to conclusions, easily losing his temper, and treating the client like an adversary. While to opposing counsel he is easily out maneuvered but super sweet. Though he professes high ethics, they don't apply to his billings. He will charge you over $600 just to go to the courthouse to get a couple of dates and will make many billing errors all in his favor. Where he should ethically tell you, 'you have no case' or 'it will cost you more in attorney fees than you will recover in damages', he's only interested in generating his billable hours, that is, what benefits him not you. He doesn't listen to his clients and cares only about his feeling, not yours. He doesn't explain the intricacies and niceties of the law, instead as though he were an MD, he just expects you to accept whatever he says without question. He will try to push you to accept a settlement, not explaining what you should fairly and reasonably expect.
