Even though…read moremy heart is doing well I had a reaction to angiogram contrast that he said precluded me from ever having an angiogram in the future. This reaction has also brought about other health issues that won't allow me to continue work in law enforcement and his statement was an important piece in my application for disability. He said he won't fill out any disability paperwork at all even though he acknowledged that he did say I couldn't ever have an angiogram again. I went to his boss, the Medical Director of Renown Heart Institute who spoke with this particular cardiologist and low and behold he completed the workers comp paperwork. A week later I received a certified letter from Renown Institute for Heart and Vascular Health saying they were terminating our doctor/patient relationship. Really? I call you out for not doing your job and you act like this? The lack of humanity of Renown Institute for Heart and Vascular Health is only superceded by their arrogance!

The building is shared by multiple offices, so the parking lot is always busy but most of the time it's pretty easy to find a space near the entrance. When I checked in their office, there was only one other person waiting in the waiting room and Dr. Tomcho's assistant called me into the exam room almost immediately, it took me a little by surprise because I even arrived early for my appointment. The office is always orderly and neat; the atmosphere is relaxed and his staff is always super-nice and professional, they make my visit comfortable and puts me at ease.

The waiting room is clean and quiet. The staff have been friendly and personable. My first appointment was for a treadmill stress test. The tech was so funny and walked me through the process. The second visit was for an echocardiogram. The tech offered me a blanket during the exam which really helped calm me so much that I almost fell asleep. :)

The whole atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The ladies in reception and checkout are professional and very nice to work with. Dr Rowan and his assistants also have that great balance between professionalism and positive engagement. I have never felt talked down to or come away not understanding what was discussed or the treatment options. I highly recommend Dr Rowan if you want a kind, professional, and knowledgeable cardiologist to take care of your heart and vascular health.

I told her we had not been vaccinated and she became immediately combative. She demanded to know why, she said she shouldn't have to help me. She was treating me like I was stupid and interrupting me. She didn't care to hear anything about our symptoms. I had to beg her to look at my neck. She said I needed to get the vaccine even if I had active covid. In fact she said that I didn't have covid but that my child had covid, despite having not even tested us. I told her my heart rate was in the low 50s and pulse ox was reading at 92 and that I was very ill all week. She kept cutting me off and putting her hand up. She said she didn't see a point in testing me because I probably didn't have covid because I had taken a negative test 2 weeks prior. I had to ask her if she was or was not willing to help me. It was the most unprofessional and bizzare experience, she was so strangely irate and combative that both myself and my daughter thought she may be intoxicated on something. This woman is going to kill someone by making them leave without medical care. She needs to be removed, and, given a drug test.

My friend with A-Fib sees Dr. Challapalli after being with another cardiology office prior and she loves this medical office too and was the one who recommended to me; she's had several episodes of A-Fib and will now be having an ablation soon.
