I ending up going in today and just as I expected everyone was so nice. The hygienist Belinda was fantastic. She was very nice and gentle and she didn't rush through her job. The Absolute rudeness and ridiculous encounter with the receptionist ever at their Jeffersonville Indiana location! I had an appointment, do to a Failure of a Crown I had done here in the summer of 2022! After completing my paperwork, I walked up to the receptionist at the counter. She looked over my paperwork and said who is your Dental Insurance now. I said my HR advised all I need to do is give you my SS# and you all can find it that way. She "Very Rudely" responded, in a ridiculous aggressive voice and tone, "that is not how it works here". Your HR lady doesn't work here. She offered no assistance in finding out who my insurance is or advice how to find out. I then said, why do I have to pay anyway, because of a failure of a procedure I had done here. I said where your crown I got here came off. She rudely interrupted and said it was over 5 years ago. I then showed her one I had from another dentist office and said it was done over 17 years ago. She advised my Crown was No Longer under Warranty. So they do not stand by their work, scary. I said actually I had it done ONLY 3yrs 5 months ago. She literally rolled her eyes and said whatever. She then said you will have to pay cash for the checkup and exam then since you do not know your dental insurance company. I said I just need my tooth glued back on. Nothing else, no other work I'm not paying cash for a failure of my crown due to this dentistry, thank you, I'm good. She replies Good, Great, See ya! Very Rudely! Wow, what an AWFUL EXPERIENCE. Now for the fun stuff: Dr. Walton has been my family's dentist for over ten years, and we all would be lost without him. That's saying a lot coming from a former military family, 20 years of finding new dentists, barely getting to know the staff's names before moving on to another adventure...and new dentists. Dr Walton made us feel like we had finally come home, and we have no intention of leaving! He has taken excellent care of my troublesome teeth (grew up drinking well water & never heard of fluoride until my son was in school! Plagued by thin enamel!), my military man's "ready to deploy" teeth, & my sister who has Traumatic Brain Injury (causing memory losses & confusion compounded by communication challenges)'s teeth. Throughout it all, I have never felt rushed or ignored by him; he has always made each of us feel as though we were the only patient in his life at the moment. That's particularly important with my sister who can sometimes make those of us who love her want to scream; many people just can't cope with her, but I never once heard even a slight irritation or sigh of impatience in his voice. Dr Walton is opening his own private practice, Walton Family Dentistry, in Bardstown, and we are so excited! He will do great as an independent businessman as he will always be a "patient first" doctor and just doesn't fit in a "puppy mill" atmosphere. He is a good man, who obviously loves his family (His wife, Stephanie the Dental Technician, is terrific, too!) and is deeply committed to improving his community. They could have informed me beforehand of pricing, or insurance issues. I'm so disappointed in this place. $80 for 12 mins. Smh. **Update 12/20/19. They call, NOT ME. Touch screen self check in and off to brush your teeth. Waiting room is spacious and comfy chairs. There is a working television and reading materials. The offices have been updated. They aren't only focusing on teeth but updated technology to help with treatment. Seriously upgrades since my braces days. They an open office setting in the back, like a circle of chairs and the desk in the middle. (Same set up as the past too) but of course updated chairs and equipment. It's awesome too see some familiar faces from days and knowing my kid is in great hands, definitely takes the stress off. Scheduling future appointments is a breeze and they give you your note on the same page with off the info. The treatment plans are laid out in front of you and all the expectations they have for treatment and that we need to except of treatment. Financials were spelled out to me clearly and the expectations for that as well. Unfortunately, because of that I'll be giving Hedgespeth Denistry a lot of money in the coming months, but I'm happy the money is going to two wonderful dentists; Shelby and his wife who also works there. Shelby has removed a wisdom tooth and has performed a root canal. He was very entertaining and kept me involved in the whole process. I wasn't surprised by anything that I was feeling, he walked me through almost everything that he was doing. As someone who has little experience with dentists this made me feel at ease. Also, he's a pro... I learned this because I was unintentionally biting his finger* while he was pulling my wisdom tooth, and he was very calm and asked if I knew I was biting him. SORRY! :D
